Craving for some delicious thali & low on cash.. This is the right place for you. 😍
It's a low budget place offering some really good thalis.
What we tried -
Mutton vajri thali
Surmai thali
Solkadi (best to have after your meal here)
We had multiple visits here later & tried other thalis as well. We loved them all.
Ambience - 3/5
Service - 4/5
Taste - 4/5
Price - 5/5
Must try.
TIP - If you planning to visit this place for lunch.. Then be there before 1pm as the place gets crowdy later.
Daaaaayum goooood fooooood!
I gorged on their Prawns Thali. One of me friends had Chicken Thali, and another had Chhole Roti, and they were licking their fingers till the end.
And all of it at DIRT CHEAP RATES! Ghar ke jaisa khaana, sasta, swadisht, shaandaar! (:
A hidden gem! Good konkani and malvani food at dirt cheap prices. It doesn't have a fancy board to announce its name and the existing flex is covered by the overhead cover. It was a chance discovery for me, even though it's right on the road. I had chicken masala and wadi at just 120/-. I couldn't believe I was in lower parel and having food this cheap!
The best Maharastrian food in the locale , have been their customer since last 10 yrs, they have maintained thr taste thtoughout.although a small place with lacklustre ambience , the food is authentic, Mutton Urval and Bombil are the best dishes here.
Fantabulous authentic maharashtrian nonveg food. And great price too... Wide options like Vajri....which is rare. I used to work nearby at Peninsula some years back and was a regular here. And years later. I still keep visiting !!
Incredible place for nonveg lovers especially for eggterians as the egg curry here is awesome and served with onion. Staff is humble and the service is fast which you can surely expect here.
Absolutely incredible place to satisfy your taste buds. Every dish you will order is a paisa vasool. Humble staff and ultra fast service what you can surely expect. Will definitely visit this place more frequently when in Lower Parel area.
Ideally a place for Non veg lovers , but if you are eggetarian , you will definitely enjoy the egg curry which is served with Bhakri / roti / Chapati. Which is served with rice , onion . Worth the money. Crowded after 1 pm during working days.
Never judge a book by its cover they say!
Never judge a restaurant by its ambience, I say.
I was quite skeptical about entering this small no frills hotel. To my surprise, its costliest item was priced at Rs 140 (Prawns Thali).
The eating area inside is very congested and needs improvement on the ventilation aspect
Outside area worked fine for us.
We had a chicken thaali and ordered for Surmai fry & Bombil fry. Unfortunately they were out of Prawns.
The food was served hot. It was moderately spicy. Fish was slightly smelly but quite tasty.
Chicken was slightly chewy.
For the given price point it is worth visiting once in a blue moon.
Pro Tip: Try their solkadi. It's available in a pep bottle too.
A small place with close to ten tables. Do not expect any fancy ambience.
Our office team of 5 went there. We ordered Chicken Thali, Chicken wade, Mutton Thali, Prawns Thali and Surmayii Thali.
All the delicacies are prepared in Coconut gravy and are more like Konkani preparation. The Bhakris (rice rotis) are also very soft and goes well. The 'wade' with Chicken are also nice. End it with Sol Kadhi, fresh and amazing in taste. Surmayii was a bit put off, as the coating was thick.
Recommended. Chicken Thali, Prawns Thali.
Very easy on pocket and fuller on the stomach.
Service is quick and they don't keep you waiting.
Spice up your taste buds with Malvani style fresh cooked food. Be it fish or egg masala, opt for a thali with bhakri or roti, this place is value for money to have lunch at a price not more than 150. To suppress the hot and spicy flavour, end up with solkadi
Tasty food in super dooper cost... that's what this place offers! If you are a foodie and can compromise on ambience or the type of crowd, this place will work for you. Try it!

Visit Day Date and Time:- Friday 19-May-17, 12.45 p.m.
"Shubha Bhojanalaya" a small lunch home with just 6 to 7 tables located at Lower Parel is popular for serving appetizing malvani fish thali.
Ambience:- It's an old outlet with no fancy ambience. But when the food is delicious, ambience won't matter much.
We ordered Surmai Fish Thai, Prawns Fish Thali, Chicken Kheema Thali and Bheja Masala Fry.
Surmai Fish Thai, Prawns Fish Thali, Chicken Kheema Thali :- All thali come with spicy cocount base home style curry, Roti or Rice Bhakri or Chapati or Wada (you can choose) and rice. Overall contents of thalis are same but it just differ with fish or prawns or chicken as u order. Surmai was fresh and deep fried simply amazing. Prawns were made in malvani masala which went well with rice bhakri.
Bheja Masala Fry:- Superb, it's one of my favourite from the menu. Spicy and yummy goes well with roti.
Recommendation:- Surmai Fish Thai, Prawns Fish Thali and Bheja Masala Fry.
Service:- Service is super quick as order come within no time.
Plus Point:- Pocket Friendly.
Point to Note:- Try to reach before 1pm on Wednesday and Friday or else you have to keep waiting. This place follows sharing table concept so be ready to share table.
Overall experience was good as always. It's definitely must visit place for sea food lovers.

Shubha Bhojanalaya is a nice place. It's pocket friendly restaurant. Though the quality of food is ok types.
Located at the Senapati Bapat Road.
U can have anything at great price.
Cheers.
Quite a good place for thalis. It is crowded at lunch time, a reflection of its popularity. It's a no frills place that serves dependably good food.
This is a regular lunch home just close to peninsula tower in Lower Parel. It serves lip smacking Malvani food with umpteen amount of the malvani curry. Very low on pocket. Always full by nearby office goers/sales rep/ workers.. etc.
The Kheema masala is a must try.
And if you work nearby, you can always opt to call if ambience is your key priority.
The best veg thali that I have had in Mumbai so far! by far the best place in Lower Parel to have awesome Indian food, at awesome prices. Worth every penny!
We all love our Malvani food, and it gets better because shubha bhojanalaya offers it at modest prices. I've eaten here a few times with my colleagues and their portions have always been generous. Their service too is prompt, even during lunch peak hours. The chicken and surmai thalis here were extremely tasty but sadly, we were a little disappointed with the prawns and Mutton thalis. The rassa that comes with the Mutton thali, however, is nothing less than divine. Other than this, the bombil fry was great but the sol kadi wasn't. An average meal here will cost you not more than 120 bucks. Definitely worth a try.
Amazing food. My only problem is that they do not clean/de-vein the prawns, and it leads to this gritty texture in the mouth that spoils the otherwise amaaaazing prawn masala!
have nothing more to add to what has been written about this restaurant by earlier reviewers.
i ordered bangda fry, rice bhakri, alu mutter and sol kadi.
every dish was delectable. my fish was super fresh and the alu mutter. waah kya kehna. amazing. interestingly they use whole garlic with the skin in the alu mutter. that is so gaothan! i really admired the taste of the garlic as well as the alu mutter. Delicious!.
compare the food with all the other restaurants in mumbai and i feel that really this restaurant has better fish than all the others.
am waiting to return and eat the mutton and chicken.
the service is warm and friendly. the waiters and cleaners are all so sweet. its a refreshing change from the plastic acting one has to put up with in all the restaurants with their trained staff.
The three factors : Good simple food, great choices, economical pricing makes this place a hub for customers to walkin for a satisfying lunch. A good option if you want to have your food quickly and move out satisfied.
Shubha Bhojanalaya is a discreetly tucked in, authentic Maharashtrian/Malvani lunch home in Lower Parel. Convenient to all the corporate offices around, it is frequented by all kinds of people at lunch time, from delivery boys to office goers, from workers to executives. What draws everyone to this place is the simple, healthy and tasty lunch options it provides.
It offers authentic coastal seafood, along with other delicacies at affordable rates. I am a meat lover, and have tried all their varieties of seafood, including surmai, bangada, bombil and prawns. Surmai and Bombil fry are my favorites. The meals are accompanied with 2 chapatis, and rice with dal/sambhar upon order. The chicken thali is also similiar, and contains chicken sukka.
If you are in the mood for a veg meal, they have that option too. You would get two sabzi's, bhaji, rice, chapatis, pickle and dal/sambhar.
Ambience is of a simple lunch home, service is quick and friendly. All in all, a perfect option for a quick lunch. It is usually packed at lunch times, more so on Monday's and Wednesday's.
One of the best outlets around Peninsula business Park. Although small but the place is hygienic and has a decent ambience. Popular among the local office people. Visit this place if you are a meat lover. Do try their Keema fry, Mutton liver fry and Mutton Vajari.
Happy with my visit to this place...
Authentic malvani food very popular with working class ppl since you have many offices in an around the joint.
A no frills place which is packed during lunch time. One will have to share a table though during rush hours.
Loved surmai fry and prawns gravy...fresh and super tasty.
Sol kadi was nice too..
A plate of surmai thali, prawns thali ( bhakri rice), veg thali and 6 glasses of sol kadi cost 375 bucks ! Now that's cheap..
Will definitely visit this place again
Nice place this !! Must visit if u are a seafood fan and love Prawns and fish.
The prawns Thali is awesome .
asked for a plate of Bangada and Bombil.
It has a spicy Curry ( coconut base) roti , aloo sabzi and rice .
Yum , 20 minutes and u are out with a fantastic taste of awesome food.
veg Thali i heard is good as well , will try it next time .
The movement i entered i saw a saw a stiker which was in marathi ( im translating it to english , PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR ONIONS ).
anyways all said and done i will surely visit this place again to taste more . 2 of us and the bill was 280.
wow !!
First look of this place will give you doubts about your own choice of places. But test yourself.
Place is small with no frills, typical maharashtrian non-veg food paradise, they also serve veg but in my opinion if you want to eat veg this is not where you want to be. They have limited food option. Serves thali fish, chicken, mutton and veg. Serves chapati, tandoori roti, bhakari and vada with thalis.
Food is really tasty and mouth watering, staff is humble, prices are really reasonable.
My true suggestion if you plan to go to this place. Keep your self open to make any opinion about this place till you pay your bill and walk out. Must try for non-veg eaters.Value for money.
ASSAL KOKANASTHA JEVAN IITHYE MILEL.
AMBIENCE pe mut jaao,
This is one place u must visit if u r a die hard foodie. Not all restaurants, claiming to offer konkani delicacies, offer it to the mark like this one does. Vajari is a must try, for those who know how much efforts go into making it will definitely try. The bhakris r so so awesome they just melt in ur mouth with the right side dish (read mutton Sukkha, tisrya masala). The seafood is the bestest from any seafood offering restaurants right from fried fish to Tiranga masala to bombil fry to kolambi bhaat. And don't forget to top it with 'SOL KADHI' this will really quench the thirst of ur SOUL!!!
I have been here many time only because of their food. They make some amazing Chicken Sukka & Pamplet Fry. It's on the main road with a seating arrangements extending outside. You can find a waiting of 15-20 minutes at lunch times on Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays. They serve Kombadi & Mutton Wade on Wednesdays & Fridays which are awesome. The interiors are below average & staff is seriously not bothered. The only reason is the authentic local food with great taste & reasonable price. Overall a satisfying experience & Recommended.
Excellent food. Must try. Reasonable. Clean. Try bheja fry, kombadi wade, kheema.
I am going there Since my childhood.
The place was suggested by my friend and it has amazing taste. Be it seafood or chicken. I ate Surmai, Bangada, Pomfret and sukka chicken here. All the dishes were delicious. Rates are reasonable as well. Usually you will find long waiting lines here on week days during the lunch break. But it's worth waiting for.
Been multiple times, it is an all time favourite when it comes to Maharashtrian nonveg food.
Taste is awesome, no experiment with authentic style, method of cooking.
Chicken ghotala with Kombdi wade, bombil fry is highly recommended 🤗☺️

Tasty yummy fish thali . Especially pomfret and wada thali . Veg chicken n mutton thali available. Solkadi too much tasty
Visited here thrice in the past 2 months. Loved it.
Why is this a good option
1. Best in taste (non veg)
2. Roadside resturant
3. Reasonable rates
4. Wide range of Menu
Only one thing is sometimes waiting, small place, and not modern furniture
But if food is important then this is the best place to visit for non vegetarian
Even forgot to take snap of dishes and enjoyed food

If you want non-vegetarian thali with delicious test must visit
This is best malwani restaurant in the mumbai. I love the food and you will love it too. Must try for chicken mutton and fish. Specially surmai tawa fry my all time fav
It is a typical bhojanalay style restaurant with great food and staff. The restaurant is very old and the years of service can be tasted in the food. The food is literally served within a minute and according to the pricing the place is super affordable.
I bought a prawns masala thali for 215 in which they serve a plate of prawns masal which includes around 12-15 prawns, malvani coconut gravy and solkadi along with this you can choose from chapati, tandoori roti and bhakri plus you get rice.
Inshort amazing food, traditional taste and a must try.
Such a hidden gem of Mumbai!
Very unique home made preparation and very pocket friendly.
Each receipt has its own flavor and not at spicy or heavy on digestion.
Awesome place and very homely food!
Look closely, two chefs are finishing their lunch...what can be a better testimony for a humble bhojnalaya. This place serves awesome coastal food and mutton and chicken dishes...the thalis are to die for. The price are unbelievably low...but yes if it ticks all the checkboxes than be ready to wait as the place is usually crowded during lunch hours.
Must try surmai fish thali, non veg foods is very good taste 😋😋😋...must try surmai fish thali... chicken thali taste is ok, not so good, order comes very, fast and very good service by staff.. vegetarians option is also good taste 😋...
If you want to have tasty Maharashtrian Non-Veg food, just step in. Don't go if you are looking for a good ambience. Dare and go in and you will forget the ambience once you taste the food
Good only for office going people
taste was awesome
too much crowded
if planning for lunch Better reach before 12:30 to get easy access else long waiting time
Every nonveg lover should visit this place... Quality of food is really good. Taste is awesome.
We had Chicken wade. Prawns wade also. Prawns were very well made. I ordered chicken fry but a gravy dish came! To get fried chicken one has to ask for chicken dry... 😂 All the dishes were very tasty but the dry chicken had a food color.
One of the most Authentic MALVANI food ✨✨
Vintage vibes ✨✨
Awesome and BEAUTIFUL FOOD✨✨
THEE BEST SERVICE AND CLEANELINESS✨✨✨
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO ASK FOR EXTRA SOLKADI✨✨✨✨✨✨
Superb and very tasty non veg food

Delicious Sea Food at Budget friendly rates. The food here is not spicy, variety of food items, they offer veg food too. Thali is the most ordered item. Crowded during lunch hours so better to reach around 12.30. Seating capacity around 25.
Good food and atmosphere. Nominal prices and tasty food
