Kamling Chinese restaurant located in Churchgate near the marine drive. Visited with my family. It's quite authentic Chinese restaurant. Chinese background music, authentic Chinese food you feel like you are at China. It has both outdoor and indoor seating arrangement. The staff was very polite and helpful. Quantity and quality was also good. Yummy and delicious Chinese food. We ordered the chilli chicken, meifoon and fried rice. Overall good experience

Been here every month since last 7 years of my stay in Mumbai. My father is a fan of this place since three decades.
My favorite food is roasted pork noodle soup and mix meat chow mein. The dumplings are also very good.
The people working here are very polite and professional. They speak better English than my English teachers :D
Few crew members talk to me in Bengali as well as in Mandarin with Chinese visitors.
Can't wait to see them open again.
Amazing place located at Marine drive with good interior decor make feels of Japan .. just had tried the taste of Chinese it's so amazing authentic Chinese flavour.. if you are looking for authentic Chinese do visit the place ..
Kamling heard to be the 1st Chinese restaurant opened in town Mumbai. So the oldest 1 as per that.
Location is prime ,u can’t miss it.
Service is really so welcoming they make you feel like home. Waiter explains u every detail.

It’s a shame I haven’t eaten here before - completely my loss. Great Chinese food from a legendary restaurant backed by excellent service - their special pork was to die for - we had two types of Chicken, lamb and some hot and sour soup and a few kettles of jasmine tea ! Many of the waiters have a Chinese heritage and are very hospitable and guess nene a round all their lives in this now low profile restaurant - must visit if you are around Churchgate
Kamling Restaurant is located near Churchgate, adjacent to Salt Water Cafe. We had gone there to try out some Chinese Food. This is a very old Chinese restaurant established sometime in the 1940s. The moment you stepped inside the restaurant, it takes you to a different era. Reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants I visited as a child where there are Chinese writings, the Chinese decor, and the Ming vases. Even the plates used for serving the dishes are just right for the setting.
The staff are elderly, most of them having worked with the restaurant for a very long time. However, they are very prompt and polite. They even suggest the dishes to order and explain on the ingredients of the dishes.
The order took about fifteen to twenty minutes, even though the place was filled with people on that Saturday evening. We ordered seafood soup, roast pork fried noodle, steamed rice, and sliced pork with onion and black bean chilli. Kimchi salad is served as a compliment. The food tasted really good, right from the soup, to the noodles, and the pork. The pork in the noodles had the smoky flavour which gave an extra kick to the pork noodles. Overall, it was a great dining experience, will go there again sometime.
Simply exquisite food. I ordered chicken fried noodles. The ambiance is also commendable. However, the best thing about the place was the service. It was outstanding.
I went here with my special one on a random day we ordered :-
#FriedRice it was really very good in taste liked it the authenticity was clearly visible.
#ChickenManchowSoup it was great I thought it will come with alot of soy sauce added in it but it was different there was no soy sauce at all in it and taste really good loved it.
#Kimchi it was all the same as everywhere .
#ChickenWantons it was nice and crisp and was perfectly going with the sauce provided.
Overall it was a nice experience and the restaurant is a perfect example of Authentic Chinese Cuisine

Visited Kamling on a Monday afternoon before going for India vs West Indies match at Brabourne . It is located opposite Brabourne stadium and very near to Marine drive . First glance of the place gives you authentic feeling . The ambience of the restaurant is spectacular and the service is top notch , the staff guides in ordering . The price is on the higher side as per the location .
As soon as you are served with Kimchi , you know that you have entered a Proper Asian restaurant .
We ordered Chicken Burnt garlic rice and Fried rice 🍚.
We were served with a sauce which was full of spice and had a bit tangy flavour . Burnt garlic rice 🍛 was flavoursome and tasted absolutely delicious with the spicy 🌶 sauce .

Give this restaurant a try if you want to try proper Chinese cuisine . They have a vast menu to offer which is filled with magnificent dishes .
I would like to ditch my normal review process of describing the food, staff and ambience to the others, purely because I loved the ambience of this place much above it's food. Rarely do I overlook food but anyways...the decor is elegant and tastefully done with Chinese lamps and Chinese fans. The staff is extremely polite, helpful and pleasing. They tend to take care of you like their family ensuring you eat well. My daughter was definitely well fed and taken care of well while I enjoyed my food. Lastly, the food is authentic but the place is too overpriced for the food it serves.
On a work trip, a few years ago, I chanced upon this delicious Chinese restaurant. Back then, I didn't know I would become a regular visitor. Kamling, is an authentic Chinese restaurant that's been around Mumbai for the longest time. I have had a lot many items from their menu and believe me that I couldn't find fault in any of their generous servings of lip smacking food. This time, I had on my table:
1. Chicken Manchurian
2. Prawn fried rice
Their food is capable of bringing a smile on your face that will last for the remaining part of the day. Generous servings, reasonable prices and a staff that will melt your heart. If you are in Mumbai or planning to visit, this must be simply on your list. You can thank me later, of course!
PS. The pictures were clicked after one round of serving.
It's quite authentic Chinese restaurant. The ambience, the food, the music, the staff everything contributes to the whole feel of it. One of my favorite chinese joint in the city.
The spare ribs and pork fried rice are just too awesome..dont miss it for anything in the world...
The staff are very hospitable and food is great...portions are not that great but the food should not be missed..
Visited with family..... Very silence and slow . Area.... You will feel you are at China ... Chinese background music over here authentic Chinese food... Not line Ind.. Chinese food what we having regular basis in any restaurants... All are aged people doing service.... Food was good...
A quite place on the walk way to Marine drive has an authentic ambiance, which makes you feel in China...the place is expensively priced but if you order wisely in small portions then you can taste more in less price...the ginger fish and the hakka chicken were just too good...a treat to your taste buds, I would recommend this place for a quite evening dinner...n a walk by the bay on your way...😋...the staff is quite good and polite with good recommendation on food menu...cheers to the good vibe in Kamling.
Been there for my birthday and still cannot forget its Awesome food. Specially a must try is mefu. Very friendly staff. The authentic Chinese cuisine and the interiors are like those of Chinese background. Had been a great experience there.
It is rare to find a great place that serves finger licking and mouth watering Chinese food in Mumbai!!!
I visited Kamling first time 7 years back and it has been my favourite Chinese restaurant in entire Mumbai ever since!!!
The food is great!!!
The staff is superb!!!
You must have the Pork Ribs Barbequed, it melts in your mouth!!!!
Very hospitable staff. The food there is fresh and delicious. Of very authentic taste. The ambience is good too. Warm and inviting. Must try the Chicken Satay!
It is located just on the main road. It has both outdoor and indoor seating. The service is good and food even better. I have tried the chilli chicken, sweet and sour chicken, meifoon and fried rice. I was very satisfied with the quality. Definitely recommending
The food is very good. we ordered prawns and I loved it. The ambience is also appealing. I didn't like their service much as staff not being helpful at all.
Food: 5/5

Kamling is one of the oldest Chinese hotels in Mumbai. The good thing is that food still taste same after so many years in the business. We ordered all fried wantons, fried rice and mushroom and broccoli in hot garlic pepper sauce. Food was no doubt good and service was okay. I am giving service ok cause one of the servers instead of advising us as to what to order straightaway told us check in the menu🙄 I mean really that should be -5 but I liked the food and can't give 3.5 on Zomato so 4!!
Tried Kamling after ages. Food is still the same. Awesome place. The mixed fried rice is super and so is the chicken stew. Need to frequent Kamling more often as the menu is huge and it will take a few visits to cover that.
Amazing 30 years of service. Probably best Chinese food I've had so far. The quantity is decent, I love bamboo shoot and because I don't get it here in Mumbai, knowing that they serve bamboo shoot is awesome. Love the place.!
Legit hunan pork, hakka noodles, actual Chinese servers in a full on time warp... This place is quite the walk down memory lane. Flavors that result in nostalgia, characters you wouldn't believe and an energy that is quite "calming!"
Don't go in expecting anything suave, sophisticated, modern or fast. This place was allegedly founded in 1940, therefore, it operates and looks like something that has survived the test of time.
Great place, the ambience is great, the food overall is awesome, the staff is really polite and are very interactive with you, gives you a very nice feeling overall :D
We have visited this place quite a few times and pretty much like it especially the interiors take you to China for sure. Surprisingly, the vegetarian food is quite authentic and decent too. We are definitely going to visit that place again.
Monday lunch made us hop to this Chinese restaurant. The ambience was good. The service was very prompt. The staff was polite and courteous. The food was authentic and had great taste. We ordered a vegetable fried noodles sichuan style, veg manchurian dry, and fresh lime soda. The quantity was large. The noodles were very different and palatable. The manchurian had a little oily texture but tasted good. Great place for authentic Chinese cuisine.
Stumbled here on a lazy weekday afternoon with some college friends when we wanted to try something new without venturing too far away from our college. Surprisingly, studying in churchgate area for past 3 years, none of us had ever eaten here! Maybe because it looks kind of ancient or has a 'closed down' kind of look. Of course it is not closed down and in fact is quite nice ambiance from inside. Food was good enough though service was a bit more delayed than we would have liked. Price could be better. Prawn fried noodles were very nice, so were the spring rolls and hakka chicken.
If you like oriental food and at some point in your life have been a townie , you cannot deny Kamling,s charm. This restaurant offers authentic chinese cuisine and has been delighting guests since antiquity. What I really like is the fact that although they host some really high profile guests, the owner still recognises you if you have visited earlier and greets you with genuine warmth. The food is amazing try the pan fried noodles, the honey fried lamb (yum) and the corn creme cubes. However everything here tastes splendid. The owner actually goes to every table greets them and talks about their last visit and really makes you feel at home. Ps: if your the type of customer looking for a tripple schezwan , then skip this place, (Gokul at Colaba is where you need to go). I would definitely recommend this place for an authentic oriental experience.
The characteristic that sets it apart is it's "Authenticity". It is a straightforward Chinese restaurant established in the most prime location of Mumbai for decades. The old chinese gentlemen as staff are very courteous which adds up to it's overall traditional Chinese ambience, look and feel. It has plenty of options not just in chicken but also in fish, pork, lamb etc. The service is quick.Pricing is surprisingly reasonable especially for South Mumbai.
Ohh what a warmest welcome by Mr Lee and his team . The food maybe good or we ordered what the server recommended . But people working there are so happy , that You will leave the restaurant with a smile.
The ambience makes you go back into the 80's or maybe I thot more of a kung fu panda movie :)
Food they serve here is more of a Cantonese style and so if you are looking for any Chowmein or desi chinese then you are at a wrong place.
P.S : Kimchi is too spicy
Thanks
Thankfully one of the few places left in Mumbai that caters to somewhat authentic take on Chinese cuisine and not the so called Indian Chinese... All the foods are recommended but the pork back ribs are highly recommended... Good family ambiance, excellent old staff, quick service, excellent location and not heavy on the wallet..
Exquisite service and delicious food, Kamling is definitely one of the better restaurants in the neighborhood. Do try the chicken wantons and pan fried noodles. I think you won't be in the least bit disappointed.
Good food and friendly staff comprising older gentlemen who know what you should be ordering sums up my experince of eating here. Its a rather straight forward chinese restaurant that serves up food which is a notch above the regular fare being dished out elsewhere. Our manchow soup, chicken fried rice and hakka noodles, pepper chicken and chicken in hunan sauce - all hit bullseye! With a malai kulfi ( rather odd to be found here) to round off, the meal cost us about 3000 for 3! Slightly steep if you ask me, but this is south bombay and closer to marine drive :)
this is an old world restaurant located near the famous ambassador hotel at churchgate.this place is walkable from the famous marine drive sea face.the food is upto the mark, the quantity of the food is wholesome,so before ordering do ask for the quantity as they have LARGE & small portions for all the dishes.steamed wontons with garlic powder was really tasty and so were the haka style noodles.
mr.lee who suggested us many delicacies was very hospitable and polite.he was very friendly with the kids as well.
looking forward to visit this place again.
Really friendly host. Couldn't believe my ears when one of the elderly managers was speaking to me in perfect bangla. Food was really good as well. Overall an excellent place.
Always a very warm & welcoming experience with delicious delicacies of Chinese cuisine. Thank u Mr. Tenzing Lee (apologies if I did not spell it right) for serving us from heart!
Always had a 7 jewel rice over here..that’s my favourite being a vegetarian :)..
Best Chinese food in town... had been here long back but it still the same.. foods really worth trying and the staff are so sweet and kind and helped up with warm water as we were under the weather.

Lovely tasty oriental food and very courteous staff! Must have prawns hakka with your choose of noodles and for starters go for crispy potato, it's yummmmm...
Mom had been to Kamling ages ago and she had some fond memories of the place. So we decided to relive them and make some new ones. When we stepped through their door, it was like entering a completely different era, say the 80s/90s! The obviously Orient accents with the Chinese-motifs lantern, the simple and comfortable seating, the napkin arranged like a fan in the glass on the table, the warm smile of the wait staff. Even the menu cover, plates had China imprinted all over them. What an absolute delight!
The food also has the same old world charm and taste. Simple yet heart-winning. No fancy preparation or presentation.
What we opted for:
Hakka Fish: Fresh, tender, flavourful
Pepper Chicken: Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, with a nice tangy touch along with the pepper notes
Chicken Fried Rice: Nicely made, the typical Indian Chinese way, with the rice having gone a little brown with the soy sauce. Can be had solo too.
American Chopseuy: Yum without being OTT sweet. I don't remember the last time I had American Chopseuy. It has kinda vanished from the menus, though not from my early memories of it.
The uncle (yes, I address him so because he spoke very warmly and with genuine interest.) who was attending to us was really a gem. You could tell he's been around forever.
It was my first time here and I had a good time! Will go back when in the mood to rewind.
One of the most underrate Chinese outlets but this one has definitely been there for as long as I can remember. Once you are greeted by the in your face oriental ambience, the food delights you in equal measure.
Do not miss the man how soup (veg/chicken) but I was disappointed that there was no change of flavour when I ordered veg/chicken. The mandarin fish (pomfret-very fresh)was bland despite being stirred in oriental sauce and veggies. Nonetheless, both the man how soup and the fish were fresh and are acceptable.
Don’t miss the rice noodles (kei- goon) though. Order a veg one and club with non veg dishes for the best flavour. Also, the grilled fish (Ravas) is succulent and fresh and mixes beautifully with the garlic sauce they serve with the appetiser.
The quantity is good and the service is attentive and on point.
Overall, I suggest you must go atleast once to this place as it’s definitely an experience. Food is definitely different from places around fort and the price, although on the high side, is still worth t when you see the quantity of the food.
What a peaceful way to end 2017 here!! The ambience is absolutely peaceful n soothing. The staff here is very warm and courteous. We began our course with veg manchow soup. The soup was average but the specific chilli sauce wich they give enhances the flavor of almost anything. We opted for steamed wantons which didn't turnout to b as per expectations seemed quite bland. For main prawns fried rice and haka chicken gravy is a good combo. The quantity is also sufficient for 2 people. Overall an above average experience.
My friend and I come here often for starters and soup. This place has a very old school charm to it. The service, food and ambience is nice. There is this old uncle who has been there always. He makes the whole place seem more charming. Tasty food and decently priced for the location.
Awesome Chinese food. The manager and staff make you so welcome. The noodles hakka style was too good and fish with chips was so tasty. Don't miss it if you are in churchgate
Loved the food here and service was great, making the overall experience an awesome one!! Tried the Kamling Special Fried Rice, it was truly special. Loved the chicken asparagus soup as well.
Must say it gave me the Kolkata touch.
Mouth watering food with heartwarming service. One of the best restaurants I have been in Mumbai. Try prawn & fish starters, Kamling special noodles and darsan for dessert
See you again, as usual...
food was excellent and well served. only one brand of beer though and litchi ice cream could have been better.
all in all - courteous staff and good ambience plus memories of old times. Time well spent
Food and service was very good. Attentive staff, good portion sizes. Very reasonably priced.
We had chicken sweet corn soup, fried rice, and Manchurian chicken.
Authentic Indian Chinese served here. Good ambiance, welcoming staff . Decor and styling was Asiatic style .
Food served was yummy .we ordered one large chicken fried rice. Chicken was smoked and the shezwan served with it was very tasty.
Overall a good dish and this place dint charge any gst .
Great authentic chinese experience at this iconic location. This place is one of a kind in churchgate or probably one of the very few in south mumbai. And by this i mean to say, the ambience and the setup is too simple and gives you that chinese homely vibe. Which either people will love or hate. But the food is fantastic! At least this was my take on the restaurant 😅. We ordered seafood soup, American chopsuey, Hakka chicken, Prawn hot garlic dry and Roasted pork with onions. All small portions and the total damage was around 1.5k which at first glance seems unjustified but as the experience sinks slowly you'll also cherish the moments spent in this place. I'll suggest you to avoid the outdoor seating because, the indoor area seals you off from the outside world of chaotic murmuring and distortions. In short, you'll be at peace when inside. 🙈 And yes the small portions may not suffice for heavy hoggers.😂😉 so do ask the guy to get you something filling. Go for it! 👍
Great food. Great ambience. Great quality. Full satisfaction.
I had ordered hot garlic chicken and chicken Hakka noodles.
Along with sweet corn soup and fried chicken with chilli for appetisers.
Everything was delicious, would go again and again.
I visited this place on a weekday, not sure of the day.
This is my third visit so far. We had ordered honey chicken, pork mein foon, Hong Kong hot and spicy gravy, and honey noodles with ice cream.
Well to be honest, I onli enjoyed the pork mein foon and the honey noodles dish.
The honey chicken dint taste good. There was something wrong with the oil or it was stale. The chicken was tough and not fresh at all.
The Hong Kong gravy dint have any taste at all. It was neither hot nor spicy.
The most annoying thing that day was the service. The waiters were in god noes wat hurry. They wouldn't give you time to decide on the menu, despite the restaurant being fairly empty. They would hover around the table and ask u an awful lot of times if we have decided on the menu. This was highly annoying and frustrating. It kinda killed my appetite immediately.
This behavior was observed on other tables as well.
No doubt ur food is good, but improve on the customer service bit.
My rating is only for the food. If it was for customer service it would have been only 2.
Ambiance: It is decent and pretty good as the location is the mother of all locations. It is near Marine drive.
Taste: 4/5
Price: Expensive but location justified. Sold my right-hand side kidney for bill and its still paining :p
Location: Near to Marine drive or Windsor plateau hotel, Churchgate. Walking from the Churchgate station.
Overall rating: 4/5
Last word: If you want to try Chinese near Marine drive, then try it. Else open zomato and search for the nearyby Chinese restaurant. Never give me the money only for ambiance and location.
Kamling is South Mumbai's oldest authentic Chinese restaurant. Ordered for chicken fried rice and chicken manchurian gravy. The large rice bowl is perfect for two people. The manchurian gravy, loaded with chicken pieces with a tint of spicy garlic flavor is definitely the perfect combination with the fried rice.
Kamling situated near the Marine Drive is suitably located. Loved the ambience and the food as well as the place. Reminded me of Kolkata Chinese Restaurants which are run by the local Chinese population. We had ordered Crab & Egg soup, Chicken Fuyong, Pork & Egg with Spring Onions and Pork Fried Rice. The food was good but quantity should have been a bit more especially the rice was not absolutely worth the price. Though as stated earlier food was good and service was prompt. The total amount came to 1434/- with GST taking care of 219/- which is the amount to buy you another dish... Will definitely be interested to visit again..
Nice and a simple ambience with excellent food! Gives some authencity to the Chinese food especially in a country like India where there is 'desi Chinese cuisine' served in a lot of places. Overall , Kamling preparation of food is good!!
I just love this place. The people over here are so sweet! The service is super nice. The Chinese food is authentic! Every time I go there I choose something different and I am never dissapointed. Garlic fish and Kamling noodles are amazing if you like pork!
Staff is very friendly and helpful specially an uncle who knows us but we don’t know him.
Thank you for your kindness and Smiles :-)
#ChineseUncle 👻 Sorry
Remember going to this place as a child. Loved it then, and I still do now. Has an old world charm to it and it's so close to Marine drive and Churchgate station.
Love the concept of their small and large portions. Courteous staff and good food makes this place one of my favorites in town.
Very courteous staff, food was very tasty and a pleasant ambiance and prompt service.my first experience at this restaurant but a very nice one indeed. Came out with a big smile on my face.
This small Chinese restaurant is over 70yrs old and one of the best in the city. With very warm staff.I have been visiting this place since 1987 at the age of 3. The food is out of this world. They have the best crab soup and pork dishes. I keep going here and I guess will always.
I was a regular at Kamling and used to also get a discount at one point of time. One of the oldest restaurants in Bombay, Kamling is quite steep (drinks are absurdly expensive) but was the only restaurant in Bombay which would serve a very authentic Chinese mixed gravy chowmein. I like Kamling but they need to adapt to contemporary times(both in terms of pricing and reinventing the menu).
Pork dishes are absolutely delicious. We had steamed pork dumplings and roast pork mein foo.. one of the staff members told us that their pork dishes are good, and boy were they right.
What a lovely place!! Reminds you of a typical old school Chinese joint that my hometown Kolkata boasts of. Location is fantastic.. right near Marine drive. So after a sumptuous dinner, a stroll by the sea is the best thing one could have. We ordered Lung fung soup, Kamling special mixed kolomein noodles and Haka fish. One of the best meals I had in Mumbai. It was so tasty. Ambience is great with lanterns and soothing instrumental playing in the background The manager is very friendly and we had long chats on Kolkata. Must visit for Chinese lovers.
Authentic chinese cuisine ...lovely foood ....great . customer service ...overall great experience♥️♥️THANK U TIN LEE FOR BEING A GREAT HOST ...LOVED THE COMPLIMENTARY SURPRISE
Kamling, being one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Mumbai, visited with few friends.
As we were short of time so directly ordered for the main course
Hakka Chicken, Hot Garlic Chicken, Mixed Prawns/Chicken food Fried rice , chicken kolo mein noodles.
Food was really good specially the Hakka chicken which is their specialty.
The noodles were really tasty with a good flavour.
Its a legendary place.. will never disappoint with the food and service.. the food hasn't changed at all you will get the same consistency as always.. the people are extremely sweet and cordial and will take the time to talk to you and know what you would like to eat and guide you appropriately.. simply love this place..
This is my to go place for great authentic chinese pork dishes. Interiors need to be spruced up a bit. There is a feeling you get of the restaurant having fallen on hard times like a chipped plate or a torn table cloth.I really hope this does not go the way of chopstix and flora which could not sustain in the face of competition .zspring rolls are crispy as they should be. Love their pork fried rice..Can recommend the minced pork with tofu as well as the hakka pork.Hong Kong chicken is another delicious dish. The servers (most of them elderly) are welcoming. I really hope they are around for a long, long time because while a Yuatcha or Hakassan might might satisfy your Chinese cuisine cravings,Kamling is the only one which provides you with comfort food.
I would first want to really appreciate the staff at Kamling who even at an old age serve their customers with an incredible service. It's a great place to go for Chinese cuisine. I ordered for mixed fried rice and prawns in oyster sauce which had lots of garlic, spring onion, soya sauce flavours.
Their dishes feel like home food. The food is healthy yet tasty. They serve their dishes as per the sizes of customers. If there are 2 people, they can call for half plate of rice as usually the rice has too much quantity.
I am waiting for my next visit to Kamling and this time for their signature dishes.
P.S Recommendation- It would help if they arrange for a valet parking !
This is one of the very few authentic Chinese restaurants left in Mumbai . Most of the other good ones (chopsticks, flora etc ) have either shut down or their management has changed .
So coming back to this place , the staff here ( most of them being Chinese )is really warm and very welcoming . The place hasn't changed a bit which is the best part.
Speaking about the food , it is top class authentic Chinese food . Mainland china does not even come close to it . This place is a heaven for non vegetarians . For vegetarians , there is no paneer but there is an alternative -tofu.
It is slightly heavy on the pocket but worth every penny .
For all the fans of kamling, here is an interesting article on the history of this iconic restaurant.
http://indianquarterly.com/chinese-comfort/
This one is my special favourite for their strong roots in chinese food.
No words to explain my wonderful experience each time with Kamling.
This place is a hidden gem in Mumbai and any chinese traveller will vouch for their pure authentic chinese food!
Many mumbaikars with a fascination for masala, spice and salt may not appease with the flavour and the pictures don't do justice to the taste. However, if you want to try chinese, Kamling is the place!
Having lived in Hong Kong for few years, I can truly vouch for their authentic taste!
The hosts are friendly and totally warmed up to us on our mention about Hong Kong!
Must Try -
Steamed Wonton with burnt garlic
Veg Fried noodles
Dumplings
Onion Cake
P.S. Request to open a branch in Andheri too :)
This chinese restaurant is a personal favourite of mine. Not only because of the food but also due to people serving us. They are friendly and they have a knack of remembering people even after meeting them only once or twice. The food is simply out of the world with really synthetic chinese flavours. In all it was an awesome experience.
Cosy little place very near to Churchgate station. Very simple and pleasant ambience, coupled with quick service. Food is authentic yet gives you a homely feel! Definitely a must-try for Chinese lovers!
Me and my family went to this restaurant for LUNCH.
Actually we are thinking about Chinese so we came here.
We ordered for soft noodles veg and veg FRIED rice with chicken lolipop and chilli chicken gravy, and we started our lunch with manchow chicken and sweet corn soup.
All food taste good.
Ambience is ok but look need to improve.
STAFF INTERACTION IS okay.
In all this restaurant is a satisfactory trip with good taste of Chinese.
Very good value for money. I got acquainted with Kamling, way back in the early 80's as a school boy, by my late father. I still remember their chopsuey, chilly chicken and golden fried prawns. I will go back sometime soon to relive those childhood memories.
My favourite restaurant in all of Mumbai. Absolutely fabulous food and really hospitable stuff. Best Indian-Chinese food available. Try the Hakka Chicken, Chicken Fried rice and Manchow soup. Outstanding!
This is a unique blend of old world charm coupled with authentic Chinese comfort food. There is a natural warmth in the service which is difficult to find these days. Conveniently located near Marine Drive, a perfect place to unwind after a tryst with the sea (they serve beer and wine, though choices are limited). Reasonably priced!

This restaurant serves an excellent Chinese food. Ambience of this place outstanding, restaurant staff are very nice, food quantity and quality is good
The food was great! Roast pork and onion was amazing! The staff was friendly and good. The service was fast and swift. Overall it was a great experience.
The name of the restaurant is not Kamling, now it is Asian Tapas there. Nice place with nice ambience.
They do serve a variety of cuisine.
An authentic Chinese restaurant located opposite Brabourne stadium near Marine drive. The ambience is classy and the service is top notch . The kimchi served has an authentic taste and the sauce served with the main course is totally delicious. The price is on a higher side as per the location . A must try restaurant if you are in that area.
Authentic chinese restaurant..Order is taken by veteran Chinese people..Live music and ambience will give a feeling being in china for a moment. Price are costly because of the location of restaurant..
Tried chicken satey, was awesome....American choupsey was average..Mixed noodles of chicken and prawns were so bland.. Specifically ask if you are interested in spicy combinations..
The place in mumbai where you can get the most authentic Chinese food. The ambience is just plush and vintage. I have been visiting this restaurant since my childhood and its the same. The location is just perfect, just walking distance from Churchgate station and few mins from sea face.
The must try is the Chimney Soup, the authentic Chinese soup you can ever get in Mumbai.
Vintage and they're still providing good experiences to those that are looking for gopd quality chinese food. Lovely interiors even though old. Staff is super courteous.
The first thing you like about this restaurant is the courteous staff .. they bear warmth and smiles .. its another ageing popular joint .. the quality is decent .. veg fried rice and veg manchurian is good .. they serve some fantastic pork dishes .. wine choice is limited . Spacious place . No wifi .. clean restroom . No parking ..
Kamling is one of the oldest Chinese joints that give authentic Chinese food. Totally recommend for all to try. The roast pork soup is to die for.
One of the best and oldest Authentic Chinese restaurants in Mumbai. They have maintained their taste through the ages. The ambience is still amazing and gives a warm feeling to the place. The staff is helpful with the menu and makes the guests comfortable.
Very nice food and service is very good, suggestions are really good. But expensive but is worth
The place has very good Chinese options. The service fell short compared to their reputation. My guest wanted suggestions from them as to what's popular at their restaurant. After giving two suggestions, the steward seemed to be either disinterested or in a hurry and just said that why don't you look at the menu and decide for yourself.
This was a little unexpected.
The prices are a little high but the option to order small portion saves you money
Traditional old Chinese ambience with authentic taste. People working there are very warm!
One of the best Chinese food in the town. A must visit if you are a fan of authentic Chinese food. The food is served by Chinese origin people on the background of Chinese light music. A feel that, you are not very far from China. The price is not on the higher side compared to some of the neighborhood restaurants in South Mumbai. There are ample pay and park slots available on the road opposite to it, but only during weekends. Difficult to find parking here during weekdays. The place is mostly crowded during weekends but you will always found a convenient table for yourself without any waiting. Not much options available for vegetarians on the menu.
Authentic Chinese food, best I had since I arrival India. Manager speak multi language and taste is just......feel like home! Highly recommend. Be sure to make a reservation.
正宗唐餐,吃不慣印度餐便來這裡試試吧
The food is excellent. Staff are very courteous. Special mention for Kenneth who is extremely efficient and helpful. I enjoyed the sweet corn crab meat soup, chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork at dinner yesterday. All three dishes were delicious!
Authentic Chinese at its finest. It is located by the Marine drive. A nice walk with your special one after dinner makes going to this lovely place worthy. Staff is courteous, service is fast. Also one huge plus of this place is they really add minimum oil to their food.
A charming quaint restaurant. I liked the food but was even more intrigued and in love with the ambiance. I remember the grandpa waiter asking me where I was from. He delightfully inquisitive and shared some stories of his time in Shillong. China in Mumbai - Love it.
