Absolutely amazing hoppers! Felt completely authentic, we’ve had immense hopper craving after our last trip to Sri Lanka. This place and their warm staff totally satisfies it. Must try - their sweet hopper with coconut milk and jaggery. Chef’s kiss!
In love with the moilee Kothu. Hoppumm food is a staple at home ♥️
We just stopped by to grab take out and the gentleman doing the front of house was really lovely and genuine. It was great to interact with him.
The food here is always a safe and tastey choice. ❤️ Thanks Hoppums team!
Small restaurant serving Sri Lankan cuisine. We started with their mocktails - Alam Neer (good) and Tamarind Sour (a bit too sour). We tried their egg hoppers (excellent), parathas (crispy and nice), beetroot curry combo (vegetarian and very good, recommended), fish curry combo (comes with hopper), Ceylon chicken curry and a vatalappam (didn't like the dessert at all!). Food is pretty good. Service is eager and food comes out really fast. The restaurant needs a little more space.
The best SriLankan Cuisine you will have in Mumbai!
Hoppumm is a small, cozy place in Pali Hill at Bandra. After reading some great things about it online, went there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The place is crowded, so you may have to wait for about 15-20 mins. However, you may order while waiting.
The place serves authentic Sri Lankan Appams, or Hoppers. I ordered for Egg-chilli and Half-fry Hoppers, which were just wow! Along with it, I ordered Prawns curry and Sri Lankan Chicken curry, which had the right mix of coconut and thick gravy. Just lovely! At the end the day, ordered the Caramel and Jaggery based Hopper, which was just yummy! A totally different dessert to try!
The service was great, and the order-takers were cordial. Money-wise, pocket friendly and you can definitely have multiple dishes for two within 1500 INR.
One thing which they can improve on, is improve the seating. The place has a limited seating space and we had to take a side table. I hope the place can expand it's seating space.
Food - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Service - 5/5
Overall - 5/5!
Please give this a try!!!
I like to eat 😋 my favorite food Sri Lanka food
I simply love it when I get to visit the places I have bookmarked!!! Well, this one has been on the list past one year. I had never tasted Sri Lankan food and my curiosity to try some dragged me to this place.
I had appams n veg stew- must have if you are a vegetarian.
Then two starters one was a roti shaped starter stuffed with
Curry leaf called Curry Leaf Pol Roti.
Polos Rolls- Jackfruit tastes soo good! Earlier I had tried a jackfruit cutlet @thetanjoretiffinroom and now here.
Had a yummy lemonade n my tummy was exploding. Totally affordable n 100% recommended.
Not to forget the beautiful staff.
Cute small place. Good food!!!
It was a small place but then it had a lot of offer. Tried The Ceylon Chicken Curry along with the Traditional Hopper. The curry was excellent and yummy. Went perfect with the Hopper and the chutneys served along. Great service and amazing ambience. Will be back soon!
Why I love this place - and return again and again.. the fast service, the hot food and the attentiveness of the staff. It’s also value for money
The egg chili cheese hopper and the spinach hoppers are yum
Prawn moilee every time a hit
The pepper mutton also a hit
And end with the Vathalappam – delicious made of coconut milk and cashew
The menu has expanded with a bunch of coolers and more appetisers n mains. I love my favourites so didn’t try the additions
What a delight! Great food, even better service. Menu was explained well by staff and recommendations were on point, just like the food. The dessert of coconut jaggery hopper is addictive.
Hidden in the beautiful lanes of Banda, this cosy little place took my heart 😍😋
One of those gastronomic experiences where one dish was followed by another great dish..These Sri Lankan dishes made my day 😁😁
What we hogged 🍴
🔸Pineapple and Basil cooler
🔸Tamarind Sour
🔸Corn Vadai
🔸Sri Lankan Chicken Curry with Neer Dosa
🔸Veg Moilee with Hopper
🔸Sri Lankan veg stew with Hopper
🔸Cream cheese and strawberry Hopper
And not the forget their lip smacking chutneys 😋❤
We tried black mutton curry and Elumus pattis. The mutton tasted well, was well cooked and the spices used added to the flavor. The place is small and you might have to wait for a little while on busy days. The staff is very courteous, makes you feel comfortable and are polite. Do try the chutneys too which are served along with the food.
I am planning to visit Sri Lanka and while choosing some dine in on New year Eve, come across this place serving authentic Srilankan cuisine.
A cosy and tiny place with open kitchen makes it look more transparent and fascinating.
We have quickly ordered :
Mini Coconut Pol Roti: 4 different flavor Flatbreads with Pol sambol, Muruku, cashew and curry leaves in lot of ghee. My fav. I would like to order it again but want to try more stuff.
Polos Rolls: Deep fried puffs with baby jackfruit in srilankan powder that's how they defined, and that's exactly how i feel it so toothsome , served with moju(sweet and spicy) and kochichi mayo dip(Spicy green mayo).
Cheese Hopper order for my kid lot of cheddar and parmesan cheese sprinkled on the hopper.
Ceylon Mushroom curry: Authentic Ceylon curry with mushroom served with 1 traditional hopper and 3 assorted dips - garlic butter, Caramelised onion etc.
And finally dessert i.e. Caramel and Jaggery Hopper: perfectly recommended, with crispy hopper having coconut Caramelised milk and jaggery on top is amazingly doing here, loved it.
Service was quick and due to small seating arrangements, servers are proactive to reduce the waiting time.
Amazing food great people good vibe ..... Techno
“The Sri Lankan Cuisine” the new, the most talk about cuisine in Mumbai. I heard a lot of good reviews from many that made me try this cuisine.
It is a cosy tiny eatery place hidden in the layers of Bandra. You will face waiting during the peak hours, so I planned for an early dinner on a Sunday. The staff were generous & polite, they help me to order according to my taste.
Well watching the chef making hoppers live in the open kitchen, was also quite fascinating.
Hoppumm serves non alcoholic beverages which is a MUST TRY. I ordered watermelon & jalapeño cooler & Pineapple basil cooler. Both the coolers were refreshing in their own ways.
Oh! I didn’t only order beverages but also authentic Sri Lankan food. I started with an appetizer which was a flatbread bread roti filled wth cheese inside & melting butter on top served 3 chutneys (Sweet, medium spicy & Spicy in taste). Ended my dinner with the main course.
P.S - I really appreciate that the plates & cutleries are served in palm leaves & no plastic is been used. The portions are small & can satisfy only 1 person.
Coming to what we ordered:-
1. Egg hopper
2. Neer dosa
3. Ceylon Mushroom Curry (Tangy in taste)
4. Sri Lankan veg strew (Coconut based curry)
This place has reached a very high authenticity level which makes me visit again to try other dishes.
Cute place near Guru Nanak Garden in Bandra..A bit difficult to late as it's slightly in the layers of Bandra.
Can seat around 10 inside and around 20 outside.I had the Mutton Pepper Curry,Traditional Hopper and the Spianch Hopper.
Hoppers were crisp and the Mutton Curry was not over spiced or oily(portion could be bigger).
For dessert got a Sri Lankan version of a caramel custard with came with a biscuity Jaggery base.
I'll be back for more.
Good food but very poor portion size. Either increase the portion size or decrease the prize. But the food and drinks were all really good.
Isn't it a great feeling when you finally dine at a place that you've been meaning to visit for a long time? It's even better if it it turns out to be as good as you expected it to be. This is a quaint little eatery tucked in a corner in Khar and serves delicious food. The star of the show is obviously the hopper but they serve some mean curries and starters to go with it. I love the 3 dips/ chutneys that they serve with the hoppers especially. Those dips are so good by themselves that you don't even need a curry to go with these. The dessert hopper is also something I absolutely love. One of our favorite places.
It would be nice to give a heads up that this place has very limited seating. By limited I mean 6 tables and four stools at a counter level of limited. And not much of an ambience. But the food makes up for all of it and more. Having been to Sri Lanka I was sceptical of how close to authenticity this food would be, but it reached very high authenticity levels. The mutton kottu in particular was spectacular. The watermelon and jalapeno beverage is easily the best of the lot and goes extremely well with the calorie dense food. The prawn moilee Curry was delicious, albeit with very little prawn. A must try for sure.
Lovely authentic appams and curry, this place is a gem! We walked it around closing time and they were wonderful and gave us a delicious meal nonetheless. We also appreciated the plates and cutlery were made of palm leaves and not plastic, which is also in keeping with the cuisine and the culture it represents. I can’t recommend this highly enough both for the hospitality, ambience (the attention to detail is amazing) and the food of course!
Have been to Hoppumm Churchgate few days ago and had decide to get my full family along with me for a meal out here!
Was around the Bandra outlet for shopping and decided to come here for the lunch!
The place is very tiny but still well kept. Very clean.
The service by Rahul and Joshua was excellent. They were very helpful and alert and made sure everything was in place. Even the kitchen staff was very kind. Really hats off to them all to serve us with such a big smile on their faces!
Coming to what all we tried:-
1) Polos rolls
2) Cheese Pol roti
3) Mini coconut pol rotis
4) corn vadai
5) Veg Moilee
6) Srilankan veg stew
7) Assorted Hoppers including original, spinach, cheese chilli and neer dosa
8) Alam neer and pineapple basil cooler
9) Jaggery and caramel Hopper
Each and every dish surpassed our expectations. The flavours were so different than what we have ever tried anywhere else!
My family members who've been to Sri Lanka said the food is even better than what they would have had there! And the variety! Its insane!
All in all the whole meal was just perfect and I would highly recommend ordering all the above mentioned items on your next visit! Go for it!
There's a tsunami of guests that all arrive at the same time on a Sunday evening at Hoppumn, probably owing to its popularity amongst Sri Lankan food lovers in the Bandra suburbs. Such an influx of hungry diners should be enough to at least shake the repose of any kitchen or front of house team, but not at Hoppumn. The service is noticeably efficient.
The non-alcoholic drinks selection is quirky. For example, a refreshing and delightfully sour tamarind juice is a great "apperitif" for the host of dishes that follow.
The corn vadai, fritter-like in consistency are a touch dry but helped by delightfully fresh coriander chutney. The stuffed cheese roti is as indulgent as it gets with lashings of melted butter on top and stringy melted cheese on the inside.
The veg stew is rich, coconuty and has a good selection of vegetables. The jury is out on whether veg stew should be as thick as it was but at 225 INR should we really be getting into such nuance? The Hoppers (as curvy as Jennifer Lopez) are a great way to scoop up the unctuous gravy.
The kitchen is almost like watching a 1980s Krafwerk video. 6-7 bodies in a small 2 by 3 metre enclosure all calmly in sync. The place is simple and charmingly informal with both indoor and outdoor seating. A non-event compared to the food.
I had negligently ignored a recommendation to review this place a while back when a friend had suggested it, but I'm glad I found it, eventually...

Visited Hoppumm and truly had delectable Sri-Lankan food experience. The tiny joint offers a homely vibe and value for money. The prawn moilee is thick, creamy and cooked to perfection and complements the neer dosa well. We 11/10 recommend this place!
Finding authentic non-vegetarian south indian/ Sri lankan flavours in Mumbai is close to impossible. However this place blows your mind with how close they could bring it. Amazing curries, soft appams, and generous service makes you feel satisfied at the end of the meal here. Try the alam neer and the tamarind sour... You will thank me. Ambience could have been better but that's Bandra for you...
Recently visited this outlet for a lunch date with my Mom. The place serves Sri Lankan style cuisine which is similar to our South Indian dishes as there is good use of coconut and coconut milk.
We loved the food here, we tried 3 curries which were very distinct in their flavour along with Hopper which is like appam. The quantity is on lower side and also the food is served on single use utensils which was a downside. Otherwise, the food is top class and worth a visit.
Undoubtedly, some of the best food i've ever had. This is a very small eatery located in bandra which is very difficult to notice. They serve heavenly delicious food, you can order anything of your choice it will be amazing. The staff is very polite and helpful, they help you choose the perfect dish according to your taste. We tried their Curry leaf Pol Roti, SrI Lankan Veg Stew along with Chilli cheese hopper and traditional hopper. In desserts we tried their Vatalappam and Coconut dumplings with fruit yogurt. Everything was just mind blowing. A must try place.
The food is absolutely delicious and the decor is lovely. The staff is warm and extremely helpful.
We tried the coolers and loved the lemon sherbat and the alam neer. It was something unique and different. The chicken polu roti and Maalu cutlets were amazing. In the main course we had the Ceylon chicken kothu, Sri Lankan chicken curry, Ceylon chicken curry, black mutton curry. We absolutely loved it. The parathas were flaky hoppers were nice and crisp and the neer dosas were melting in the mouth. The prawn moilee is the show stopper and it’s just extremely creamy & delicious. The caramel and jaggery hopper was extremely good. Finally we had the vatalappam which was amazing.
This place never disappoints me! I have had their food at the eatery as well as delivered home and it's simply a joy .. the seating isn't the best but the wait and small place is worth it , as the place serves some really flavourful curries. Literally everything on the menu is worth a try but the three chutneys that come along with the hoppers are bomb !
Had eaten at outdoor events and was waiting to open up restaurant which they did in bandra and how .. the food is brilliant and so is their service ...
To start off, the servers were really knowledgeable and polite. Tried 3 of the juices which were so good and refreshing! I love the watermelon one. The seating was comfortable and very cosy. The food was so delicious on a lovely rainy Sunday morning. A special mention to the garlic and the spicy chilly accompaniments! Kudos to the team! Will def be back!
Fantastic homely place. Got interested by Sri lankan menu and decided to pay a visit and we were highly impressed...
Small place tucked near Guru Nanak park at the other end of 16th road in Banra.. and it lived up to the tradition of small tiny Bandra place serving wonderful food.
One must appreciate genuine approach by genuine people who try to serve something different and that too with such good quality food options.
We are veg and tried 3 curries with 3 different types of Appams and 1 starter as in pic which name I forgot..
Even the Pineapple and Basil infused drink was very good...
Will be regular here for sure..
Keep up the good work...
This little gem tucked off Turner Road near the residence of the Great Mohd.Rafi. Went for dinner with family. It's a cozy little place with limited sitting capacity. They serve Srilankan cuisine. The food was just awesome. If this is Srilankan cuisine would love to go to Srilanka.
Our friends Joshua and Rahul really took good care of us. It is a must visit place. Only negative if I have to point one is the space constraint. If you are not on time you could have to have a long wait.
Wonderful food and excellent service! A quaint place that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat!
1. isso vadai - a batter fried prawn starter
5 pieces of prawn - greasy , definitely felt overpriced and wasn’t great tasting either - I would skip this.
2. the egg hopper with the Srilankan Chicken curry
The srilankan chicken curry gravy was a red gravy base , thick, but I wasn’t too pleased with the cut of the chicken , however the chicken was tender .
The Egg hopper itself was pretty amazing and paired well with the curry, the egg adds a good twist and flavour dimension to the meal
3. String Hopper with the Ceylon chicken curry
The ceylon curry was yellow, thick, creamy , and packed with coconut flavour. Chicken was tender , and as a meal paired perfectly with the sift chicken hopper
These mails came with 3 condiments - a delish caramelised onion based which was sweet with a little tang , second with a tangy tomato salsa-ish variation which was also tasty and paired well with the meal, and a third which was dry coconut based - not a fan of that one.
All in all a good meal, super efficient service , outlet is small hidden in the lanes of pali, but a good time . For the quantity of gravy, i think the prices are slightly over.
Incredible food. Absolutely loved the moilee curry. I found the mushroom curry to be okay but my friend loved it. I was very impressed with the service too. The waiter was so friendly yet professional.
This was a take away dinner..
For someone who is married into a South Indian family.. for some one who is in love with Sri Lanka..
This was a really good reminder of my good choices!!
To begin with they were completely rain ready and the packaging was immaculate ... It preserved the presentation and love in the lovely containers..
The mutton and chicken curries were really really good.. the yellow chicken curry was extremely rich in flavour and texture- loved it the most!!
Appams were nicely packaged so as to preserve the texture and we really appreciated it!!
Lotsa love to the team for the passion and love towards us..
Amazing place with great Sri Lankan delicacy. Authentic spicy makes the food so right. Great place for light food.
Asif was an amazing host. Good food. Good ambiance. A great for a family dinner or snack. Being a Sri Lankan, the food was almost as the ones I've tasted as a child. Great stuff
Just. Amazing. Great experience here, the curries are definitely worth trying for. The quantity given seems less but you end up with a full and satisfied tummy after the meal and it's yummy (including the sauces given) :)
The portions may seem small but your stomach will be full by the end of the meal. Also savour all the chutneys that they offer with the meal. They are amazing and worth it.
I had to write abt this place.. Located in a quiet place n nice place to hang out for a lovely meal.. So I tried the Chicken Ceylon Kottu which was a blend of my favorite Malabari Parathas with chicken stir fried n made into a delicious meal.. With that tried the coconut dumpling n yogurt a deadly combo.. Tried out the Sri Lankan Food for the first time n I must say it was a total thumpsup...
The food was delicious, the quantity was nice, filling and worth every penny, the side dishes were perfectly flavourful, and the staff was really generous. Dining at Hoppumm was a lovely experience indeed! Don't miss out on their prawn moillee with hoppers.
I love the food and the service has always been good to me. However for people like me and my boyfriend we have a huge appetite and have to agree that the serving size seems less but then again when I go with my family they dont seem to eat that much and that suits their appetite. So I guess it differs person to person. But on the whole food is great and I wish you all the best!
Hoppumm is a nice joint serving Sri Lankan cuisine. The price is a bit high for the servings they give but the taste is awesome. Rating: 3.5*
Sri Lankan cuisine is one cuisine that has been ignored for way too long in India and I am glad it has finally arrived.
The South Indian me could not stop beaming in excitement the first time I heard about hoppumm.
So one weekday I arrived here at 6.30 pm to realize they actually open at 7 pm.
Thankfully the manager was sweet enough to let us occupy a table till the kitchen was ready.
Since we were famished already, our orders were quick with some recommendations by the manager.
Alam neer:
This drink literally brought back wonderful memories when this yummy drink called panakam would be made at my home.
Yes,it's just exactly that or at least tasted exactly like that.
Jaggery and ginger together might sound odd but trust me you will call for a repeat.
Mushroom Ceylon roast:
This is a spicy curry and for anyone who wants to avoid any coconut based curry, here you go.
Sri Lankan seven vegetable curry:
Since I was craving a coconut based curry, I couldn't stop myself from ordering this one.
Very flavorful but starts tasting a bit sweeter eventually.
Along with the curries we ordered for a neer dosa, Hopper and a string Hopper.
So let me make it simpler for you;
Hoppers are appams,String Hoppers are idiyappams and neer dosa is well neer dosa.
Let me just be honest, the string Hopper was a tad bit dry and not my go to with the curry.
The neer dosa could also do better but the basic Hopper is by far the best to enjoy the curries with.
This one has been a treat to my taste buds and a meal I am going to remember for a long time.
Returning very soon to sample some more Sri Lankan food from the upcoming new menu!!
Hoppumm
Has come to Churchgate. It’s a MUST visit restaurant with a cuisine reminiscent of Kerala- Sri Lanka. Firstly the ambiance is good with 2 levels giving ample seating space for at least 50 people at a go. It’s easy on the eye with the eclectic black-n-white flooring, cane furniture and artifacts to add to the timeless Sri Lankan charm.
The food is delicious, mouth watering, tasty, awesome, succulent, savory, sumptuous and luscious. You have the traditional sambol as an accompaniment with coconut milk forming the base of most of the gravies served- be it Sri Lankan Chicken curry, Vegetable stew, Fish Curry, etc. The Hoppers/ Appams were scrumptious especially the one I had with chilly, egg and cheese. The Menu is a quirky take on the traditional with added spice and innovative ingredients. There were some interesting drinks Alam Neer (ginger and jaggery combined); water melon and jalapeño cooler; tamarind sour.
The staff are friendly and this restaurant is highly recommended.
4 stars only because there are 2 dishes dedicated to fish in a cuisine which boasts of amazing sea food. Loosely reminiscent of our own South Indian food, but still a tad different. Simple, no fuss fare at OK pricing, deserves a shot. 👍🏾
Maybe the menu can have some more options overall.
I find myself here on a rainy Saturday evening, at 8pm so that I can grab a table at this tiny joint that can seat only around a dozen odd people. But since I was prepared to be squashed, it didn't bother me much. Specially faced with friendly, smiling staff. A genuine smile and an effort to make sure you have a good experience, goes a long way.
Well, I had come with the intention of trying their hoppers and so went straight for the combos. Along with their Alam Neer drinks. And a side of mutton rolls. These drinks with a strong flavor of ginger are a must have.
We ordered the mutton pepper fry hopper combo, mushroom hopper and prawn moilee with multi grain hopper. All of these were uniformly good but I leaned a bit towards mutton pepper fry which I felt was outstanding. In fact they were so good, that we ended up ordering another round of Prawn Moilee and Mutton Fry combos but substituted Mushroom with Chicken stew.
Believe you me, this place is quite a delight. Though I'd have preferred a bit more elbow room😊
A tiny outlet in the bylanes of bandra, Hoppumm serves up authentic Sri Lankan flavours made less spicy to suit local tastes (in the words of the manager). The hoppers or appams were crisp outsides and fluffy inside. The mutton Pepperfry with kotu roti was succulent and oh so flavourful. The dips and chutneys were unique and lip smacking. Definitely going again!
The food was just delicious and I like how they have quantities for one person so that you can try different stuff and not waste food either. Cute little place. Great staff. The prawn curry and neer dosa is a must have. Love all the kind of chutneys that they give on the side. The desert hopper was great too. Never imagined Jaggery on an appam with cream cheese and mango would taste so nice.
Must go!
Excellent food- great taste, quality and freshness of ingredients. We tried all the vegetarian food options. My favorites were the Kottu Roti, Gravy 65 and the Veg Moilee. So excited they’re opening up another branch!
Appreciate the customer service. Quick and delightful. Amazing tastes, coconut-ey and different. Appam was right amount crispy. Neer dosa soft and well cooked. Liked different kinds of sambhar chutneys very much :-)
A very sweet nice joint... loved the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We have a small appetite so couldn’t order much but whatever we ordered was good... would definitely go back again.
Things to try
Prawn moilee
Mutton pepper fry
To drink
Alam Neer ( if you like the taste of ginger)
I loved this place. The food was amazing, so was the hospitality. This was my first tryst with Sri Lankan food, and it was a real good experience. I'll definitely be visiting again.
Brilliant food and great service at an unbeatable price. The mutton is to die for, as are the chutneys. Theres not many places that serve up this style of food.
Hoppumm is a tiny place in Bandra with a tiny menu. But everything we've had there has been excellent to say the least. I'd rather a restaurant do a few things well than many things mediocre. So this is right up our alley.
In the mains:
Their Egg Hoppers are divine. Crusty, with a delicious fried egg in it and perfectly seasoned.
The Roast Ceylon Chicken and Pineapple Curry have been our favourites so far. Followed closely by the Mutton pepper fry and the Sri Lankan fish curry. (We've not tried the prawn curry yet though. I might edit this review later because I have a feeling it'll be good 😁)
Dessert:
Their coconut milk jaggery hopper was out of this world. It actually left us speechless. Well balanced. Superb. The next time we tried a seasonal variation of this dessert hopper with mangoes and whipped cream instead of coconut milk. Surprisingly that was really really good too. The vatalappam was well made but was just not for us.
This would've received a 5 star hands down. But I begrudgingly have to give it 4 simply because their portion size is quite small for the price. I wish there was a 4.5 though. But again we keep going back because the taste and quality is amazing.
If you wish to get the taste of Sri Lanka in
Mumbai, this is the place. Even though it's a small place with minimum seating you manage to find a place soon as the service is as quick as an udipi restaurant. Staff is friendly and courteous. The food is so amazing that you wouldn't bother about the ambience. Definitely going back for Roast chicken.

Small place in Pali Hill can seat about 10 people. We ordered for the Prawns Moilee and Mutton Pepper Fry both served with a traditional Hopper, and Kottu Roti.
For those who haven't eaten a Hopper, it's almost like a bowl shaped paper dosa and something that is a staple part of Sri Lankan cuisine. Would also recommend to try and Egg Hopper.
The Prawns Moilee is a coconut based, cream curry with a few large pieces of prawns. It ws quite delicious. But the star was the Mutton Curry which was just oozing with lots of flavour and wasn't spicy. The correct way to eat the Hopper (which I recommend) is to empty the curry in the middle of the curry and start off by eating the edges of the Hopper.
I was a bit disappointed by the Kottu Roti as it was very dry and nothing like what I had in Sri Lanka.
For dessert we ordered the Vatalappam, which is a jaggery and coconut based pudding. Get this as it's not too sweet and is something different.
Hoppumm is a small place with a limited menu but whatever they put out, they do a damn good job of it.
Meal for 2 - Rs. 900
A quaint little eatery. With just about one proper table. Warm and friendly staff with extremely quick service. We tried the mutton pepper fry and the Ceylon roast chicken with appams and they were both so lovely. The size of the protons is little bit small but filling none the less. To accompany our meal we tried the alarm near which was the perfect refreshment for a hot summer day. We finished of our meal with the jaggery and coconut milk appam which was absolutely outstanding. Will definitely coming back!
Had been here on a sunday evening and obviously had to wait! The place has a few tables and is small but dont let that deter you! The food was oh soo good! We had the mutton rolls for starters along with the chicken stew and prawn stew hoppers.. so damn delicious with every bite.. craving a bit of south indian delicacy? This place will surely not disappoint you if you’re looking for evening snacks or maybe a dinner too!
This is a quaint little place in the by lanes of Bandra , srilankan cuisine with very authentic taste. The food is very good , some of the spicy dishes of Sri Lankan standards have been toned down to Indian tastebuds. That’s a relief. A define recommendation to try it out. The restaurant is also a Green restaurant, serves you in cutlery made from recyclable materials.
This is once of the best srilankan restaurants in Mumbai. The place is extremely small & cozy ,barely a place where 15 could sit .
The srilankan mutton rolls are good for starters
Then chicken stew with neer dosa and the prawn moilee with appam is a great combo and simply delicious
For desserts , vathalappam is just too good . The prices are very reasonable I recommend everyone to try this place out
Wanted to try a new cuisine and google suggested this amazing place. It’s a small restaurant, but don’t judge their food by the size of restaurant. Staff is helpful. I tried their Ceylon Chicken curry with traditional hopper and Alam Neer. Hopper was soft and fluffy. Ceylon chicken curry was just too delicious and flavourful. Will definitely visit this place again.
Yummy food. We enjoyed the meal. Book the place is advance as its a small place. Staff is very friendly. They serve limited quantity so 1 dish is enough for 1 person. Mutton pepper fry was too good.
It's a small place, so it can fill up quickly. They accept reservations and will ask you to move on if you stay longer than your food. The food itself is pretty good, Sri Lankan style thicker moilies accompanied by or in a hoppumm "bread bowl". Also too, the place serves cold drinks like a tamarind sour, or watermelon jalapeño drink. Fabulous! Seafood, non-veg and some veg as well. The staff was delightful. Ambiance good with nice music at an appropriate volume.
A small joint in Bandra trying to find it's niche in Lankan cuisine. Mainly outdoor seating with a single table and few high chairs indoor. Table bookings are not entertained. Mains are all combined with a serving of carb. Hopper is good though could have been lighter and crispier. The mains, stew and moilee had a very smooth and creamy gravy. String Hopper (Idiappam) and Neer Dosa were average. Usage of biodegradable cutlery and plates are commendable. Accompanying Sambal and Chutney were quite good.
