Had Sunday evening dinner with a friend here. I must say the food and the quality and the service is something amazing. It is now my favourite restaurant in Colaba for seafood and other Indian cuisine. We ordered chicken thali which comes with chicken dry gravy and other vegetable and curries with roti and rice. It is the only thali restaurant which will not give you stomach bloating. Amazingly cooked chicken sukha with lots of garam masala and other spices. Do visit this place on Sunday's and eat NEER DOSA which is so soft and thin. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Their Bombil Fry has one of the most consistent (if a tad undersalted) rawa batters out there. Their chilli chicken dry & chicken manchurian dry remind me of happier times & happier prices from the year 2005 when I was a college student who wolfed down desi greasy chinese food while calling friends over, playing video games or having a date (with myself) during exam prep! The fare is simple but the 4th star is added for their swiftness of service & consistent quality. I’m yet to try their other fare & I’m hoping for a pleasant surprise based on what I’ve reviewed so far! Call them to order. Faster that way.
Fish lovers must visit this place. One of the pocket friendly restaurant. If your priority is food instead of ambience do visit this place for fish dishes. Biryani here is of South Indian type just fried rice and not regular Irani biryani.

Amazing chicken & seafood restaurant (known for its mouth-watering Seafood!) in Colaba. Initially I ignored this gem as it looks very average & small roadside eating joint with very few dining tables inside. But one of my colleagues invited me here a year back for his Bday dinner party & from then onwards started my lunch-affair with this place! I m not a seafood lover, so i use to order all chicken & veg items here. They give gravy with all veg/nonveg biriyaniz here, wich is amazing & spicy! I love their chicken/egg biriyani, chicken thali, chicken maratha, prawns masala.... It is usually very crowded during lunch hours (after 1pm). You can find at least 2 fish-thalis on almost each dining table during lunch-hours!!! 😀 So seafood loversss, charge up! 😋

Bombil Fry Thali - Crispy Bombil Fry served with steaming hot rice & authentic tomato curry. Bombil Fry lovers should surely not miss on this thali.
Surmai Masala - A piece of fresh Surmai fish is cooked in spicy red masala. The masala had many flavours which were experienced in every bite. Highly recommended.
Pomfret Fry - Typically fried with red chilli powder & rava (suji), this pomfret too was fresh & delicious. We ate it with hot rotis.
Chicken Masala - Chicken cooked in semi dry spicy gravy is one of the best masala gravy that we had ever eaten in Mumbai. The Chicken used here is not boneless, hence foodies preferring boneless chicken can try some other chicken dish.
There is no doubt on the quality of the fish served here as the Colaba dock is very close to this restaurant & hence most of the fish are delivered here every morning. This restaurant is a simple one & as more than ambience they concentrate more on the food quality & their service.

Hii All, i love this place because it offers no sophistication and its near to my place. Its simple and basic. Its a place where i can sit with a Paalthi (folded legs) on the bench, eat with my hands and in a simple salwar kameej. They dont irk. Plus the food is so damn awesome that even when i have a small appetite, i can lick my fingers in typical indian style carefreelily....you guys are doing great...keep it up!!!
Love this place for take out when I feel like some nice yummy Indian food. I've ordered the chicken thali which is quite yum. The dal fry is a must have , the butter chicken is delicious and the quantity very good too. Their kulchas are very good. The mangalorean chicken curry with neer dosa is too good. A great place to order take out from when you feel like having mughlai or South Indian food.
We regularly get a fish thali home delivered for lunch. Tasty, clean, VFM food but a tad spicy. Very polite quick service. Try all the seafood items. Generous quantities!
I love the food from here. Although it has been occasionally late in delivery, there's nothing much to complain. Do NOT however order the Chicken 65. Try the chicken crispy instead.

Situated near Colaba Bus Station... Its a small place and I have always parceled the food... This place has amazing mangalorean dishes. The sea food is delicious and if you try anything in the menu it wont disappoint you. My most favourite is the Chicken Fry Masala.

Very basic type of a typical manglorean lunch home but one of the best places to have seafood in colaba area. The place is very small and often people have to share tables with others during the peak lunch hours. All fry items are good and even the seafood thalis are nice basically everything is good as the food served here is very fresh and the overall menu is very reasonably priced.
Central Lunch Home is a very nice place for Mangalorean style food in the Colaba area and serves fresh fish especially surmai, bangda, baby shark, shell fish and prawns. On Sunday they have a special menu which you should try out. Have the fish with their neer dosas as it tastes great. Reasonably priced with good and fast service too.

Good one for sea food. Especially dry starters. We mostly get the food packed n bring it home. They also have home delivery service. The ambience is below average n the crowd is not that decent so prefer a take away. Baby shark can be tried here. Bangada fry and bangada koliwada are good. Surmayi fry is also good. Also try prawns masala. They also serve tawa chapati and plain rice. All stars for food.
For all those South Indian food lovers, Central is a decent joint. I would recommend home delivery over dining in! A must try is the prawns gassi, surmai gassi, tandoori chicken and butter chicken. Don't forget the neer dosa which goes with almost everything. And the solkadhi to digest it all.
A small restaurant usually great for home deliveries. We have often dined there when in a hurry especially during relocation. Their portions are rich; go for the non-veg and the naans. Friendly staff, efficient and effective. No points for ambience, but worthy for a quick bite. Not the place

We usually order from Central on lazy weekends when coastal region food cravings are at their peak OR when I am too lazy to cook and craving a comforting seafood dinner. Quiet safe for 2 girls to go eat there alone but be prepared for the stares.
Their Thali's are completely VFM. We usually order neer dosa, prawns gassi, fried fish, fried bombay duck and sol kadhi from central. Food is not WOW but definitely tasty and comforting. They run out of Neer dosa pretty fast might take atleast 45mins to deliver (from my experience). Go for this one.
Ignore the slight fishy smell, you have a great place for quality sea food. We tried the prawns and surmai thali and it was amazing. The surmai was rawa fry and tasted great. Dont go by photos and other reviews, just try it once, you wont regret.
We frequently used to go for lunch here. The food quality is excellent and also the rates are also normal. We had Bombil, prawns and surami Thalia. The fish was really tasty and fresh.

This was our first experience at Central Lunch Home..situated opposite Sasoon dock..seems like an odd place to go at first..but u shud definitely try it for the awesome and authentic sea food they serve..a small homely restaurant..ambience is not very great..but all this dsnt matter when u have delicious sea food..we had ordered the surmai thali and bombil thali..They were out of chapatis..we requested them to provide the poha dosa which was appearing in the 'Today's special' menu..we were skeptical in the first place..however to our surprise the poha dosa turned out to be extremely soft and delicious..the soft dosa with the awesome fish curry was an awesome combination! Then we had the fresh surmai fry and the bombil fry..no words to describe the taste..was extremely fresh and the masalas were just as were needed..there was a serving of veg alu mutter which was surprisingly good..then the awesome rice and fish curry..made for heaven..overall a 10 on 10 to this restaurant for the food..and yes not to forget very reasonable too..a must try!!!
Central's specialities are packed with flavour and never disappoint the taste buds.. we prefer the typical Manngalore fish variety dishes and of course the Sol kadi
We were staying in Mumbai for two days and visit this restaurant twice. The food is really good and not overpriced. Surmai fry fish is a must try. Chicken crispy is also good. Both are good combination with rise.
