All thanks to Chef Neelam who has taken all her experience forward and now she is up with her own brand as “Ornamental Mithai” which stands to its name as each and every sweet/mithai is like an ornament. The packing and boxing is super amazing and it feels like there is really an oranament packing. Ornamental Mithai is outcome of passion of Chef Neelam and her husband for Indian sweets
The outlet is one of the most beautiful Indian sweets outlet for I have ever come across, lot of thoughts have been put into creating a sweet shop that carves sweets that look nothing less than a ornament.
I was little full that day so could not taste any items however took home a cute sweets box which had variety of sweets.
Presentation was superb and sweets were nice as well. You could ask for customisation and the Chef would be more than willing to accommodate the request, this outlet can also be used for private parties and romantic dinner where meals can be planned as per your taste.
So finally when I got to know from Zomato, that a sweet shop has opened right below our flat, couldn't wait to visit. So it's a modern Mishti outlet, some fusion dishes, some modernised mithais and a few classics. Mumbai has been perennially short of good Bengali Mishti places (Sweet Bengal is the sole flag bearer), and so ordered baked rasgulla and rasmalai les tres. It was not too sweet just about right and very flavorful and tasty. The kachoris seemed very enticing and will be on the to try list this weekend.
Net net, the wide variety of sweets, very very different flavours and good quality (the baked rasgullas were in beautiful jars), makes this place a 5 for me. Prices are at par with sweet Bengal.
Few things: the place is on the sadder side of r Galleria and that too on the second floor. So you have to make that effort. The outer area of display doesn't have ac, gets hot as you wait till they prepare/ heat it.
Cheers.
Recently visited this place Ornamentel Mithai in Mulund and they changed my thinking about Mithai’s. The name Ornamentel Mithai itself make clear that they are not just making Mithai’s but they are into designing Mithai’s. The place is been running by an Ex- Oberoi Chef Neelam and his Husband. The place has some delicious and unpredictable Mithai’s like Vegan Mithai - Red Velvet Mithai - Blueberry Rasgulla.
The place also have came up with a new concept called secret dinners - In which they have a whole dinning place experience in their outlet where one needs to book it one week prior to dine in with their loved ones and provide the Chef with some basic data on that basis the chef will cook live in front of you and serve you. Where you also will be unknown with the names of the dishes which will be served.
The place is just fabulous and must try their healthy and true flavour Mithai’s. The place is Highly recommendable and must give it a try.
Do you want to eat gorgeous mithai which is unique with its lovely stuffing !!??
Today went to ornamentalmithai ; a unique mithai studio I should say which is not your usual mithai ki dukaan !! There are no mounds of jalebis, no barfi !! Wait a minute!? But it’s a sweet shop you just read !! Yes yes they do have mithai but the Picasso of mithai ! Not your average nukkad ka maal ! Very artistically made ! Each individual mithai piece is an art piece! There are laddoos with sea salt caramel, there are sondesh with pistachio stuffing, with blueberry stuffing, there is a motichoor laddoo with wasabi stuffing too !! Yes wasabi !! What an idea !! . I am so glad I went as I almost didn’t because of the weather yesterday!!
This unique concept place is the brainchild of Chef Neelam ! She is a trained pastry chef with lots of recognitions and awards ! They have also started unique snacks like baked samosa pinwheels and kachoris which will be a hit ! Also dry snacks like green trail mix, jowar puffs( my littlefoodie loved these), cheese oat chips, methi chips, chlorophyll mix — all of which are baked and no trans fat or preservatives are used !!
They also conduct workshops, host luncheons, dinners, parties for kids etc. they even have unique packaging available! The prices are affordable too and start at 49 rupees per piece!
Definitely ordering my next mithai batch from here !! Must try ! Highly recommended!
I visited this place on Sunday Afternoon. Very Easy to locate. When I entered the place, I actually felt that if I have entered in a jewellery store. It was so beautiful. The desserts were displayed like fine elegant jewellery. Going with the name, each and every Mithai was placed like an ornament. They have taken Indian Mithai’s to next level. They have given a fusion to every traditional Mithai from every part of India. I tried many desserts but my personal favourite was Wasabi Bondi Ladoo. It had white chocolate & wasabi together. There is so much of R&D and a thought process behind every Mithai. They are soon launching savoury delicacies with a modern twist. Lot healthier. They have vegan & sugar free mithais too. Seriously Kudos to the Chef Neelam & her team. I would like to thank them for coming up with such an amazing venture & taking for Indian Desserts to International Level. Had an amazing Sunday.

So just last evening we visited this Halwai with a twist. Chef Neelam after decades of experience with hotels, fine dines etc. has opened her own premium, extremely creative mithai place.
The look and feel of the place is extremely beautiful, classy and minimalist. I’ll come to the mithai a bit later but first I’d like to go over the collaborative sphere that Chef Neelam has made. The space is being used for holding classes like bread making, cake decoration, mithai making etc. also, private themed dinners are held here where the food is made exactly according to the choice of the patrons visiting. They do a 5 course or a 7 course or however many courses you’d like themed party which is customised for you. I really loved the whole concept of experiential dining wherein The entire menu is curated for me. Just perfect for birthday parties, kitty parties, a private proposal or a romantic date.
Now moving onto the mithai - chef Neelam has poured her heart and soul into the creation of these little wonders. She’s combined western flavours with Indian ones keeping the whole base extremely traditional and created some wonders.
We tried a tonne of their mithai as below:
1. Motichoor laddoo - this one has a wasabi centre with the sweetness of the ladooo cutting the spice. Really nice
2. Banoffee - an quintessential combination of banana and toffeee in mithai form.
3. Tropical blast - a creamy mango mithai with coconut fudge.
4. Nutty butty - a peanut butter and milk fudge mithai
5. Cashew barrel - a bitter chocolate with Goan cashew combo which is lightly sweetened. Loved this one.
6. Royal superman - this one has activated charcoal with 24k gold.
7. Vilayati Boondi - boondi with pinenuts infused for the crunch. Really nice.
8. Punjab by the bay - this was just the best mithai we had. Tasted really great. Would come back only for this. It had a sea salt centre with a whole wheat flour side. Just brilliant.
Each of these babies are priced at just rs. 49. I think that this is a good price to pay for an individual gifting item or a corporate gifting item. They even make boxes of 5 or 20 or even 100 depending on your need. They do gift boxes as well and customise the mithai exactly to your need. I think it’s a brilliant concept that will go a long way.
This is a great concept Mithai store. It's for you to enter into the world of creativity and tastefull Indian desserts. Each and every mithai has a twist to it and special care has been taken to keep it simple yet fun. My personal favourite is Rising Sun, motichur lado with wasabi sushi inside. You need to indulge into the lovely world of Chef Neelam Saini and I'm sure you will fall in love.
Red velvet mithai is my favorite here. It has a rich flavour of red velvet and mithai itself looks very tempting with all handpicked elements

New place in mulund! I was just passing by and then i saw this place which looked attractive for its luxury ambience and as soon as i entered the place my taste was taken care of completely as the hospitality was great, coming back to mithais the look itself was so tempting and when i tried it i could feel why this brand is so premium, its all because of the flavours!

New place alert at Runwal Green. This place is owned by Chef Neelam who has been a chocolate queen and also an ex oberoi chef. Must tell, she has magic in her hands. The concept of the place is bringing out indian sweets with an international touch. They also have personalised boxing options. The best part is chef herself makes a customer sit there and tells about herself, explains the person her whole concept. I had almost everything right in their menu. The best what i found out of all was, Rising sun (boondi with wasabi inside the sweet), Jewel of mysore which was basically mysore paak, Banofee was the good, Vanberry was the best of all with blueberry and vanilla mix, Cashew barrel was good too, Royal Superman was something different like shilajit with activated charcoal. Even she made 3 chocolate bars infused with different fillings like white chocolate with kalakand, dark chocolate with panjiri and milk chocolate with orange and mawa and this was the best. Do visit to experience the best of indian sweets.
This place has a premium variety of Indian sweets but with a twist

Plus they have an experience studio where you can utilise the space to have cooking workshops or dates or small private party
