Unique interiors and furniture.... Made from corrugated cardboard. Friendly and decent staff. Unique menu and good food in taste and presentation. Only issue is the price tag. The place is a bit of a hole to your pocket. Definitely a visit once is a worthwhile.

When I first read an article on Cardboard on an architectural website, I was extremely fascinated and was looking forward to experiencing this place myself. Having seen and read about this versatile and environment friendly material being used in architecture & interiors across the globe I was glad that designers here are finally experimenting with it's use

Decor: 5.0

Being an Interior Designer myself I was initially with regards to the sturdiness of the furniture and it's ease of cleaning, as restaurant surfaces are subject to a great deal of stains. Having experienced this place first hand though I was mightily impressed on how sturdy the furniture was. Also to note that the surfaces were treated with some coat of wax that ensured that food stains falling on it were easy to clean. I was however extremely careful throughout my meal to not drop a single food particle on the table on seeing the amount of pain and love that went into designing this space

Food: 5.0

We placed an order for the following :-

A) Starters :-

1) Blazin:

These beautifully marinated Prawns coated with Rawa and tossed with some Sesame Seeds were served neatly on a bed of Curry Leaves Chutney and garnished with shredded Raw Mangoes. What I really loved about this dish was the use of ingredients that are synonymous to the coast of Maharashtra and the flavours were spot on

2) Going Around:

Mildly spiced Chicken Satays served on a bed of Green Peas Puree and garnished with freshly grated Coconut beautifully balanced the spiciness of the Prawn Starter. Again the use of ingredients like Green Pea, Blueberry & fresh Coconut gave the dish a refreshing taste

B) Mains :-

1) Unreal:

Boneless Chicken cooked in a mildly sweet gravy and garnished with Curry Leaves. It came served with a side of Spinach, Baby Carrots and Steamed Rice. The dish as a whole was filling and had notes of flavours from down south

2) Smashing:

I'd consider this to be the chef's take on Butter Chicken & Naan. Wherein the unhealthy orange gravy that one is accustomed to is replaced with a healthier gravy comprising of beetroot. Initially one might feel odd by it's color, however a few morsels down and we realised that it was as good as the real thing

Service: 5.0

The staff at Cardboard is absolutely amazing. Extremely polite and highly attentive. Also noticed this fine gentleman going around and taking feedbacks from patrons

V.F.M.: 5.0

An absolute value for money and a must visit for it's unique concept and finger licking food

Cardboard BKC's interiors are a luxe take on an eco-friendly material. The world's first and only lounge made entirely out of cardboard, this unique restaurant had carved its place at Bandra's commercial hub of BKC. The food and drinks compliment the avant-garde style of the interiors by incorporating fusion elements with traditional classics. The cuisine is made up of dishes which have South Indian roots but are fused with delicacies from around the world. This restaurant is also a well know hotspot for coffee enthusiasts who want to take a sip from their brew made of self-sourced roasted beans. Cardboard BKC also has an exciting range of cocktails and spirits that will bring a smile to your face while you dance with the good vibes.

I will start with the themed decor and no doubt I am totally obsessed with it. Beautifully crafted, the whole decor and furniture are completely made out of cardboards, you can smell it as soon as you enter. It's an experience. So now about the food, it's as good as the vibe of the place. We went for juat coffee and thought to give a try to an appetizer as well.
Cafe Bon Bon (5/5) - This one was recommended by the server and we really loved it. Full of flavours anf strong but subtle expresso shot.
Cartado (4/5) - It was great too, little bitter for the one who don't like it that way but was perfect for me.
Iced coffee with hazelnut flavour (3.5/5) - First served there was very little flavour of hazelnut, when complained about the same, staff took it immediately and rectified their mistake and added more flavour.

Whats Crackin (4/5) - So it's basically a fusion of Bhel with some sauteed crispy mushrooms served with a mint based chutney. Sweet and spicy, full of flavours, really loved it. A perfect appetizer

They also have Jenga there and we really had a good time playing and sipping one of the best coffee I had in a long time. Highly recommended ❤️

Hi folks your blogger is back with some stunning puzzling spot with it's remarkable innovativeness and an alternate culture of styles and sustenance.

You may have seen the spots with shining lights or with innovative dividers or reflexive structures and examples. Ever even idea of a spot with none of them no lustrous lights or twisted seats.

Also, if a spot has it's excellence with a straightforward art fixing called a cardboard. Truly our next astonishing intriguing spot has it's climate totally comprised of cardboard. Lovely dividers structures and quiet spot to get a freshness while making the most of their uncommon Culinary of sustenance.

We should on board at this spot and see it's foodfolks.

Cardboard gave us a warm welcome with it's invigorating regular welcome beverages. They will make you feel so invigorating and you feel as you are having common nourishment structures in it.

GNARLY

Absolute first beverage accompanies solid rich apple, reviving minced mint leaves, sharp ruler pineapple and some ground coco. A decent thick smooth shake wherein you make the most of it's each taste. With fine contacts of various tastes.

HUBBA

Next scrumptious sound beverage with great carbs n stimulating shake. It comprises of Banana, orange, delectable kiwi and chia. Pleasant shake sweet and carefree.

Two of them are best together to invite you and gives you a decent time with your discussions.

Especially getting a charge out of thing I found about cardboard is they care that their nourishment isn't just delicious and of good quality yet additionally wealthy in wellbeing worry of their significant clients.

PUMP

They served two adorable convenient bowls of soup. Soup had dark raisins in it. Something I saw without precedent for soup servings. It's taste was gentle not hot not dull. Thick and delicious somewhat sweet and flavor parity looked after soup. They have utilized principle fixing as pumpkin, alongside it wellbeing accomplices of soup were carrot, potatoes, dark raisins and chickpeas. So you can see the wealth.

4-SHO

A LONG platter with fine 4 varients of hummus, presented with pita bread and browned papad(southern crisps). Pita bread appears as though adorable little pancakes measured ones.

Coming to most loved viewpoint SALAD

YEAH BABY

On the off chance that you feel plate of mixed greens is simply vegetables that don't taste great. Than this dish will refute you. Serving of mixed greens made with a unique korean sauce made by them in their kitchen. This sauce was the heart for this serving of mixed greens.

It contains pak choy, bean grows, carrots, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, crude papaya and crude mango. So finely and equally diced.

We had two diverse level breads they were

FAT-SO

4 Different cheddar like feta, mozzarella, goat cheddar and yellow cheddar. A few herbs and home made tomato sauce. It was very fine firm and cheddar force was great.

ADVENTUROUS

Falt bread pizza with garnishes of olives, capsicum, corn, shallots and mozzarella cheddar. Delectable pizza an absolute necessity attempt.

VEG APPETIZER

BONG

Bengali styled potato circles fresh balls. With tart ringer pepper sauce.

WHAT IS HIP

A scrumptious firm south Indian style roll. It's comprised of potato, cabbage, ginger, coconut, poha squashed croquette.

Coming to mains

SMASHIN

Essentially it's a non veg dish however this time they made a unique dish for us in veg style. We should perceive how it was. Beetroot greavy with tofu, presented with naan. This is new idea for vegans.

SHOTGUN

Parle-G cheesecake with tea coat. Caramelized ginger. Scrumptious pastry till yet so short n sweet simply like it's name one shot of shotgun and you are finished.

I had been to Cardboard yesterday for Lunch.

The entire restaurant is made up of cardboard. I loved the innovated style of décor - simple yet elegant.

The chair, tables, and the sidewalls, everything is made up of cardboard and seems like extra attention has been paid towards the fine detailing of the ambiance as well as furniture.

All the dishes on the menu have a unique name. We tried many items, few of them are

🔹Good Night John boy (Cocktail) - a fantastic vodka-based drink with Kiwi, jalapeno and fresh pineapple juice. A little on the spicy side, so order wisely.

🔹Hey Sunshine! – Fresh juice made with Pineapple, carrot, orange, and ginger. The taste was very refreshing. And the orange color was so soothing to the eye. Love the taste of the fresh juice.

🔹Broke- Very tasty soup made with roasted broccoli, garlic, fresh cream, and almonds. Loved the taste, super healthy to start the meal.

🔹Ace - Soup made with roasted tomato and had chicken pieces in it. I Loved the taste.

🔹Babu – A very beautifully presented egg dish that had a base of exotic veggies, southern curry, a little maple syrup, and Chicken Sausages. Overall this dish was tasty.

🔹Adventurous – A flatbread with olives, Corn, Capsicum, Mozzarella and curry leaves with homemade tomato sauce.

🔹Smashing – A super tasty southern style chicken which is marinated in Bacardi, beetroot and Indian spices. This was served with naan. A perfect twist to the typical butter chicken. Highly recommended.

For dessert, we tried

🔹Shotgun – Their special Parle-G Cheesecake dessert with Chai glaze. The best combination of cheesecake and chai. Chai over should try this.

🔹In Your Dreams – Nutella Cake with hazelnut. Simply wow. Try it for yourself. Super tasty cake to end the meal.

Coming to the service, the staff is super friendly and paid good attention through the meal.

Overall, I enjoyed the time at cardboard. Super impress with the concept and the innovation of south style fusion in all their dishes.

We almost accidentally landed here. Not able to find a 'kid-friendly' place in the area, this came up as a long suggestion with good ratings so we headed here. Be careful as it is very easy to miss the turn you need to take to reach the place. It is located in a relatively new building complex and was pretty quite for a weekend. But the concept was simply charming, winning us over. Though there were mixed opinions in our group about it.

Ambiance - 5/5

Full marks here. For most of us in the group, it didn't register that the name of the place is the concept. Everything, tables, chairs, walls, lampshades, is made of, yes, Cardboard! It's a nice, small, cosy place with a very very relaxed charm about it. Feels like you are cocooned in a cardboard, but not in a claustrophobic way at all. Well done!

Food/Drink - 2.5/5

This was the point of biggest issue in our group. While those of us who sampled juices, salads and soups just loved it, everything else was fairly underwhelming. We must have tried nearly the entire menu, and were still not left satisfied. Flat breads (equivalent to pizza) were full of cheese, killing most of the  flavor. Sourdough (with gobi) tasted random and burger was strictly just about ok. We ran out of enthu to try out the Udon noodles but fairly underwhelming in this area.

Service - 3.5/5

Nothing out of the ordinary here. Good, functional staff. Given that the menu is a bit eclectic, they could do a bit more in explaining and trying to cater to different palates with more help.

Worth a visit for the uniqueness of the concept.

This is a quirky little place. Everything is made of cardboard from the seating to the wallpaper. The menu is quirky too, liked their Yeah Baby salad and the roasted tomato soup with a back taste of rasam. Neat fusion. The pork ribs has a tinge of vindaloo masala feel to it, order it with some beer and you are getting started. The Solid udon was a nice spicy variant with lots of Shitake mushrooms. The service was super attentive. Kudos for a place like this, takes you into the fusion quirky land.

I thought that the naming of the food items were very creative and interesting. The entire concept of using cardboard as the interiors is also very clever and environment friendly. Yes the inside smells like a cardboard box owing to so much cardboard (I also went to this place when it was quite new). The mushroom toast that I ordered was absolutely amazing. Very juicy mushrooms and crisp toast. The desert was another highlight which was some sort of chocolate cake, although the cake will go well with some vanilla ice cream as it was a bit too dry for me, but taste wise on point.

Cardboard has been one of the places on my list as it has been the talk of the town. What makes it different is it’s decor...it’s all cardboard. The table, chairs as well as call decor all cardboard. At first I wasn’t sure of sitting on those chairs but must say they are strong and as comfortable.
Let’s move on to food....A perfect place for brunch, lunch, dinner or just coffee! Talking about my meal...I started with Broccoli soup...which was out of the mind...creamy to its right level. Followed by it came the perfectly unique yet simply taste hummus platter. 4 different types of hummus served with freshly made tiny pita. Wasn’t really done with appetizers so had few more on the table. Personal fav was Skinney rolls...goat cheese they use was out of the world. Can really go on and on having that. Other three were Bong, What is Hip and Fooling around. Unique combination used in each of them to give a twist to more famously know Indian dishes. Like Bong is Bengali dish served with a sauce. Fooling around genuinely is a surprise to taste and check...heads up the pineapple and mint chutney is worth.
Moving to mains...pizza is my fav so flat bread with 2 combination of toppings to name them... Four cheese and Glam. As the name says 4 cheese is for cheese lovers and a classic, whereas Glam is well loaded with veggies and a great pesto tasting base.
Next on the table was coconut coriander curry with rice...perfect main course. The herbs and spices were well blended with just the right amount of mushrooms and tofu’s. Highly recommended for all coconut base curry lovers.
I was all full, but imagine a Parle G cheese cake with tea...the combination we know is just perfect it’s the element of cheese cake that makes it fab. Right amount of sweetness and strong taste of tea.
I am hardcore coffee person so my meal and chat had to end with perfect cup of hot coffee when check with chef he strongly suggested Bon bon. It’s the perfect after shot....can be added with milk for customisations.
The overall experience was as great...I am definitely going back to try the rest on the menu. For now I am rating it 5/5 for the food, service and experience.

Cardboard
Located in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the design concept of Cardboard quite literally explores out-of-the-box thinking. Its entire interior landscape, including furniture, light fixtures, signage as well as the menu card and bill and cutlery boxes, have been made using, well, cardboard.... It is also very durable, lightweight, insulating and exhibits excellent sound absorption properties making it extremely eco friendly... The furniture is made from thin cardboard sheets joined together and the Nude colour of the cardboard makes the place more brighter and yellow lights make it look really classy and spectacular...

✳️ I was here to review their menu and some new dishes introduced by them... Was really impressed by the chef 👨‍🍳 as he had already curated a menu for us and had chosen the best and new dishes to try... We started our meal with soup 🥣

• Broke Soup:::— Roasted broccoli 🥦 confit garlic and fresh cream, garnished with parmesan cheese and roasted almonds... The soup 🥣 very light and tasted amazing, the texture and thickness was upto the mark.. They served in a cute glass bowl which looked more appealing too... Loved the presentation and plating of each and every dish served here...

• After the soup we were served with a platter of hummus with 4 different hummus served with pita bread and southern chips... All four hummus very different in taste and very unique too... Zen.., is a classic chickpea hummus with olive oil.. And Spiffy.., is a mung bean hummus topped with spicy green chillies, tomatoes and onions... Then there was Slick..., black eyed peas and sweet potato 🍠 garnished with fried garlic and lastly Wango..., is a aubergine, garnished with sun dried tomatoes 🍅 pomegranate and balsamic reduction... I loved Slick and Spiffy highly recommended....5/5

• After hummus, I tried one egg dish which is from their all day breakfast menu... The dish name is Babu::— it’s a broken fried eggs with vegetables and southern curry, maple syrup and curry leaves.. The was little sweet and tangy.., Perfect balance of all the flavours... I had never tried eggs with southern curry and curry leaves was little finicky about it..., but chef told to give it a try and totally loved his recommendations...5/5

✳️ Then we were served with appetizers... As we were here to review the place as bloggers.. , the portion served to us are small so don’t mistaken it as seen in the photos.. we had four appetizers in total... The first was Bong..., it’s a classic Bengali chop with a twist and shaped round like ball topped with a tangy bell peppers sauce.. Second, was named What is Hip..., it was a cabbage, potato, ginger and poha croquettes with orange 🍊 jalapeño sauce really loved the sauce... Third, was Fooling Around..., it was a roasted black eyed pea and vegetable grilled patty with pineapple and mint chutney.. and I guess it had beet roots too as the colour of the patty was red... Fourth, was the Skinney rolls..., goat cheese and sundried tomatoes were rolled in the thin sheets of zucchini served with coconut and mint chutney..,, cheese was really fresh and tasted delicious....

✳️ Then there were flat breads, newly introduced in the menu... They served us
• Fat-so..???:::— It was a four cheese 🧀 flat bread with Feta, mozzarella, yellow cheddar and goat cheese combined with some herbs and homemade tomato sauce... 4.5/5

• Glam:::— And this was really a glam.., it looed so beautiful and colourful.. The combination of this flat bread was really unique and delicious... The base was homemade pesto topped with zucchini, goat cheese, mozzarella, dates, cherry tomatoes and sundried tomatoes 🍅..., the flavour of dates on a pizza tasted amazing and sweet taste of dates, tangy taste of tomatoes and pesto were blending so perfect when you take a bit of it, in every bite you will feel like heaven... Highly recommended by Fussyaboutfood 5/5

✳️ The main course too was a unique flavour for my palette.., it was a coriander coconut curry with mushroom 🍄 tofu, onions served with rice and crisp aubergine 🍆 this was ok....

✳️ Lastly, the dessert served to us was Short Gun and it was Parle-g cheese cake with chai glaze and caramelised ginger, pistachios and oldmonk... The flavour of chai ka Masala was too empowering the whole dessert.. Was not happy with that...

✳️ We also called for a juice called Hey Sunshine it was a blend of pineapple, orange, carrot and ginger freshly blended together... The colour and flavours of the juice was very refreshing and fresh... 5/5

✳️ Lastly, ended my meal with some really strong coffee called Bon bon.., it was a two shot Expresso with one part of condensed milk... strong and sweet the coffee need to be hot...

Cardboard serves dishes which are vegan and gluten free too.. so, health freaks and Vegan this place is definitely a must try for you all... Kids will definitely love this as they will something really new and unique..., things made out of cardboard so next time if are planning for a lunch or dinner do give this place a try....

Cardboard is a bar and restaurant located at BKC, Mumbai.

Beautifully done up using actual cardboard for the decor, the restaurant was a warm inviting ambiance.

Cardboard serves modern global cuisine, what the chef calls new age cuisine. The restaurants menu is a interesting mix of eggs to order, soup, salads, appetizers, flatbread, mains and desserts.

So here is what I had -

SOUP :-

PUMP -
Pumpkin soup made with chicken, coconut milk, maple syrup, raisins and indian spices.
Garnished with fried chickpea and garlic.
Really different, there were so many elements to the soup, I loved the hint of sweetness coming from the raisins and maple syrup, fried garlic added a new dimension.

SALADS :-

SWINGIN -
Lettuce, orange and kiwi, walnuts, mustard seeds, curry leaves and chicken dressed in a orange jalapeno dressing, garnished with feta cheese.
This salad was really different, the southern twist of tempered mustard seeds and currry leaves worked beautifully !

EGGS :-

BABU -
Fried egg served on a bed of fried potatoes and zucchini. Topped with southern curry and garnished with chicken sausage.
The southern curry was so flavourful, it was made with roasted lentils, southern spices and maple syrup. It bought every thing together !

HUMMUS :-

ZEN -
Classic chickpea hummus, garnished with fried chickpeas.

SPIFFY -
Hummus made with beans and garnished with tomato salsa.

SLICK -
Hummus made with black eyed pea and sweet potato, garnished with fried garlic.

WANGO -
Hummus made with aubergine and sun dried tomatoes, garnished with pomegranate and balsamic reduction.

All the hummus were served with homemade mini pita bread and southern crisps.
Each and every hummus had its own distant flavour, I personally enjoyed the one with sweet potato and fried garlic.

APPETIZERS :-

KICKS -
Rice puffs mixed with chicken, pineapple, onion, potatoes and coriander chutney.
Chefs take on a bhelpuri, sweet and tangy in its flavour !

GOING AROUND -
Grilled chicken served on a bed of pea puree, garnished with grated coconut.
The chicken was soft and juicy, peapuree with its mild subtle flavour acted as the perfect accompaniment.

GROOVY -
Prawns tossed in curry leaves infused olive oil with shallots, red chillies and garlic. Served with bread and lime wedges.
Absolutely delicious, the chilli garlic onion oil was full of flavour !!

BLAZIN -
Pan seared rawa prawns served on a bed of curry leaves chutney made with maple syrup and sesame seeds.
The prawns were really spicy, loved the unusual curry leaf chutney.

MAINS :-

SMASHING -
Butter chicken made with a twist of beetroot and bacardi. Served with oven naan.
Insanely delicious, one of the best butter chicken I have had in recent times !
The chicken was soaked in ginger and bacardi, The gravy was made with roasted tomatoes, whole spices and beetroot. Addition of cashews really added a lovely texture.

TOTALLY AWESOME -
Chicken and mushrooms made in a coriander curry, served with rice and aubergine fritters.
The coriander curry was sweet and sour in its flavour, it was made with maple syrup and tamarind. Nice !

DESSERTS :-

SHOTGUN -
Cheesecake made with a crushed parle g base, layered with old monk infused cream cheese, garnished with ginger and pistachio and served on a base of tea reduction.
The dessert had a melody of flavours, the bitter tea reduction complimented the sweet creamy cheesecake.

Overall, i had a great time !
The food at cardboard extremely delicious, the chef has done a fantastic job in playing with contrasting flavours, something rare to find !

Highly Recommended :)

Go try indulge !

The latest in a long line of fun places making BKC the great evening hang-out place that it has become!
Visited Cardboard on a rainy Mumbai evening. It took a wrong turn & a small U-turn to understand what Google Maps was trying to tell us to get to this place. So if you cannot find it at one go, despair not, you will find it on the second attempt.

First up, it is a fun place with quirky interiors - everything is made of...CARDBOARD! The tables, the chairs, the walls - everything. And it is absolutely easy on the eyes - the browns are not glum at all - in fact, in the pretty golden yellow light of the restaurant, it looks even warmer.
There are games & books. This is going to be my go-to place for lazy evenings - hot chocolate & a book = life set!
1. Madagascar Hot Chocolate: If you like Hot Chocolate as much as I do, then like me, you will also ask for this as the first item in your order. It was delicious - MUST ORDER.
2. (Soup) Broke - Broccoli soup - MUST ORDER. Yummy, filling & satisfying. Perfect for a rainy evening (and otherwise too)
3. Skinney Rolls - Loved them so much, inspired to replicate them at home (with limited success, of course!) But truly, if you enjoy zucchini, then give this a shot, you will not be disappointed. Fresh taste, unique flavours, enjoyable preparation.
4. What a Fry - only if you like fried food (who doesn't) order this. It is sinfully good. Was polished off in under 30seconds.
5. (Dessert) Hey Sister - Shahi Tukda with a twist. Made with Sourdough bread, this was a different taste than usual. Be warned, we could not finish it between 3 people!
The menu is extensive - I wanted to try a lot more, but did not have the appetite for it. Will go back for more. Staff is attentive & knowledgeable - they helped us navigate the extensive menu. Will also re-visit for the young, happy vibe.

Super cute ambience and everything made of cardboard including the chairs , table and the best being the lampshades. The food is great with different kind of names of different dishes which sound all the more interesting like the flatbread pizza named “Boring” , the skinney rolls, 4-sho hummus with pita, in your dreams - vegan pastry and a lot more. A brilliant eco friendly interior and the owners as well as the staff both are courteous and polite.

In this constantly evolving food industry, where the competition is cut throat, the pressure is immense. You gotta think 'Out Of The Box'. Ohh wait !! Let me introduce you to CARDBOARD a restaurant created 'Out Of The Cardboard Box'. Right from the Captain's desk, to the chairs, to the tables, even the cutlery stand has been made using Cardboard.
Their motto "Create Consume Change" depicts their commitment not only towards 'Going Brown' an environmental friendly initiative towards resources conservation and sustainability but also their All Natural ingredients in their recipes.
The corrugated cardboard has been used in the best possible manner that creates an instant curiosity to run your fingers on those stacked layers and it has been treated with a special surface coating that makes it non-staining, fire resistant and sturdy. I must also appreciate how the space has been used with variety of seating available for groups to an individual who would love to enjoy his coffee alone or surf his lappy. The giant pillars of the building have been covered artistically with cardboard. I also liked their logo which somehow send to be inspired from "Lego"
The recipes here are curated by Chef Yung Dhanani a passionate and ecstatic chef who takes pride of his culinary skills. His enthusiasm shows it all. The fusion cuisine served here are Continental and American with healthy twist of Indian ingredients. They also have Vegan and Gluten free options on their menu.
The staff is welcoming and service is prompt.

Coming to food, the spread was vast and sumptuous

Soup;
✨ Ace
We started off with soup, this was a a tricky one I would say cause it tasted like a tomato soup because roasted tomato being the key ingredient but it was marigold yellow in colour. It had good amounts of shredded chicken and gooey scamorza cheese.

Eggs All Day
✨ Wipe out
Form their Eggs All Day section, Wipe out is an open bread with stuffing and sunny side up and caramelized bacon on top. The green chutney adds a different perspective to it. An ideal morning breakfast !

Appetizers;
✨ Blazin
An authentic coastal appetizer I would say, inspired from fish rawa fry, this crunchy and spicey prawns rawa fry with curry leaves chutney and grated raw mangoes is a burst of flavours. Probably one of the best Prawns I have had. Highly recommended!

✨ Bong
Spiced mashed potatoes stuffed in crunchy ball with the tangy bell pepper sauce. So now you have one variant of potato recipe to love ;)

✨ Going around
Blueberry on top of spiced chicken was really an unthinkable fusion, though it looks appetizing. The green peas puree had mild sweetness to it.

Flat breads ;
✨ Playful
Arguably the most divisive food debate - Is pineapple a good addition to pizza topping? And certainly I was very much reluctant to go for this but trust me with pulled pork that some how lowers the tangy-sweetness of the pineapple and gels in. My suggestion would be always have balance between the pork and pineapple chunks along with mozzarella cheese, cause that's how the Hawaiian pizzas are also eaten. So definitely you gotta go American way with this one and not Italiano.

Liquids ;
✨ Jump your bones
A tangy drink with pineapple, jalapenos and kiwi blended in. The frothy texture and sudden bites of kiwi seeds is something unique to try.

Mains ;
✨ Solid
This was again an Asian fusion where Japanese udon noodles was served in a thick gravy with generous use of peanuts which we usually see in Thai cuisine. It had very subtle flavours but wholesome and filling.

Desserts;
✨ Shotgun
With base of grounded Parle G and taste of Parle G in cheesecake this was an eccentric dessert. The chai glaze with ginger hints completes the 'Chai-biskoot' drama.

To sum up it was a great way of understanding and experiencing the fusion cuisine and have a sense of flavours without loosing it's aesthetic. Definitely worth visiting this place and explore.

I was at this amazing innovative place that has its whole decor made with cardboard. I was super curious to check out the place & finally had a chance to visit. The chairs, the tables, and the interiors were all made up with cardboard. A very cosy cafe located inside Inspire Bkc, was very easy to locate.

The chef was super friendly & was so much in love with south Indian spices that he made a fusion of South Indian food with Western touch. We started off with a soup called Broke which was a Broccoli based soup. Nice and thick in texture, it had traces of parmesan cheese and fresh almonds. The flavors were very rich and I totally loved the portion size too.

After our soup, followed some appetizers & a hummus Platter.

The hummus Platter here was quite innovative. It had four variants in all served with Pita & some south Indian crisps which was nothing but Apalams / Papadams. The combination made me a bit skeptical, whether those would blend well with the hummus. However, to my surprise, the combination was too good.

~ Zen was the basic original hummus made with chickpeas. It was topped with some chilli powder & some spiced channa.

~ Slick was my most favorite Hummus in the platter. Made with Black Eyed Peas & Sweet Potatoes, this was a very creative dish, and equally very tasty. Sweet & flavorful in its own way. This was garnished with some fried garlic pods.

~ Spiffy was hummus that was made with kachumber & topped with some finely chopped onions & tomatoes. This was quite tasty too & went well with the Papadams.

~ Wango which was made with aubergine, topped with sun-dried tomatoes, pomegranate seeds, and balsamic reduction. The flavor was also quite balanced, I loved the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds and the sourness of the balsamic vinegar. It was very nicely balanced.

The appetizers we opted for were,

• Bong which was a Bengali dish. Potatoes nicely mashed and rolled into a ball & fried. The dish was topped with some dressing which was made with red bell peppers, some tamarind and south Indian spices. The crust of the dish was perfect & the sauce really blended pretty well with the potato ball. It was presented very well too.

• What a Fry! was a Beetroot delicacy. The Beetroot Poriyal is a very common dish in the south, where they steam the curry & top it with grated coconut. The same dish here was then rolled and dusted with some poha and fried. It was very sweet in flavor and extremely soft in texture. The poha was also nicely fried and also wasn't very sharp on texture.

• What a Hip! was a similar dish as the above, however the vegetable used was different. This was a cabbage roll. The cabbage Poriyal again was nicely rolled and dusted with poha and fried. It was also delicious and not as sweet as the beetroot one. I loved both the varients of the dish.

• Skinney rolls were a very interesting & very presentable dish. Zucchini were nicely sliced thin and made in rolls. Inside the roll, the stuffing was of goat cheese & tomatoes. The zucchini was rested on a bed of pudina chutney that was made with coconut milk & some south Indian spices. The chutney really complimented the rolls and I totally enjoyed this one.

Overall, we were very happy with all the appetizers we had. We also called for a Flatbread called Adventurous. The toppings & the sauce were quite nice, however I felt that the base of the bread was a little hard than usual. We enjoyed the toppings alot, they also used Curry leaves as a topping which gave it a very Indian touch.

We then called for mains,

~Totally Awesome was a green gravy curry made with tamarind water, mint & some bell peppers. This was sweet in taste & was served with basmati rice. The portion size of the bowl was quite nice. I loved the flavor of the curry & it was pretty similar to the base chutney in the zucchini starter. Also, they used some coconut in this gravy that gave it a sweet touch. I personally loved this main course dish.

~ Unreal was a Andhra dish. As the dish was from Andhra, the dish was extremely on the spicy end. The veggies used were bell peppers, and zucchini. The spices were used in abundance. The gravy went well with the basmati rice. As I am not a big fan of spicy food, I could hardly eat too much of this dish. If you are a spicy food lover, you definitely need to call for this dish!

For beverages, we opted for Hey Sunshine which was a Orange, Carrot, Pineapple & Ginger based juice. It was very light & fresh. I loved the essence of Ginger in the drink and also the balance in the fruits & vegetables.

We had the dessert called In your dreams which was a warm Chocolate cake (Eggless) topped with Vegan home made Nutella. The Nutella was too delicious & the best part was that it was vegan. The cake was also nice & warm. The texture was very soft & the Nutella was indeed my favorite part.

We ended our meal with a cup of coffee & Hot chocolate. The Bon Bon coffee was a three layered coffee, where there was Expresso shot, condensed milk and chocolate essence. It was very nice & strong. I loved it.
The Hot chocolate we opted for was vegan and hence it was very light on the tummy. It was nicely paired with a small Chocolate cookie.

Overall, we had a lovely time here. The food was lovely, so was the ambience & the service.

I'd rate the service : 9/10
The food : 9/10
The ambience : 9/10

If you are done with the mundane everyday restaurants in your viscinity, Cardboard is the place to go. A one of a kind concept and the only restaurant in Mumbai to adopt the concept of using cardboard so attractively in the furniture. The ambience is really well done and without any doubt you will fall in love with the place. The menu is interesting with a fusion of continental and Indian dishes with a healthy touch to it. Chef Yung took great care of us and made some delectable dishes for us some of which were:-

1.Broke:- Never knew broccoli can taste so good. The soup was made with roasted broccoli and had hints of garlic and almonds to it which overall tasted well.
2. 4- Sho hummus:- This was the star of our meal. We were served with 4 different types of hummus madenout of chickpeas, mung beans, sweet potato and aubergine and trust me you will like all of these. The hummus were served with small pita breads and southern crisps.
3. Adventurous:- A decent flatbread with losre of veggies and cheeze.
4.Unreal:- southern andhra curry with veggies served with rice was a filling main course and was very comfortable to eat.
5. Shotgun:- This was our dessert and had a parle g cheesecake topped with caramelized ginger which gave it a hint of spice and topped with pistachios.
We also tried Jump your bones which was basically a juice made out of pineapple kiwi and jalapenos.
Overall we had a great experience at Cardboard and totally loved everything right from the concept to the food on the way through the service. Will definitely visit again to try out their non vegetarian menu as well.

This place located in the G Block of Bkc Inspire is a treat. It's on the ground floor of the huge block.

The concept of Cardboard has a novelty factor to it and you know how well the concept has been implemented by the sheer look of the place in it's entirety. Right from the countertops to the chairs n tables and everything in and around this place is done up with cardboard. Yes, you heard me right. Layers and layers of cardboards racked up to make it so strong to make these sustainable interiors is no joke. Done by Nuru Karim of NUDES, these furnitures and interiors are wax coated and are just as durable and fire safety compliant as your any other restaurant in town, if not more. Thoroughly impressed with the strength these chairs possess as they are nifty yet durable and really neatly done.

Now coming to the food, this place is headed by Chef Yung Dhanani who curates the dishes and knows his dishes well. He presents a blend of Spanish, Asian with a lot of South Indian influence that he's heavily inspired by.

Started off with Soup

🌟 Ace - Smashing the taste in our mouth with the first sip, the tangy soup with chicken pieces all the way into the end with cheese to go along just blends so well. Perfect to get things started before your appetizers n mains

🌟 Wipe Out

Newly introduced in the menu, this one was not really heard of. It's from the Eggs All Day section and this is a perfect breakfast food to go with your juice if you come down for one over here. The bread is soft enough to cut into slices easily with a sunny side up and bacon as a garnish. It's coupled with in-house sauces and is a sumptuous one in itself.

🌟 4 Way Hummus Platter

The classic pita breads and southern crisps with a variety of Dips namely

Zen - which is chickpea based. Has a rough texture to it but guess well with the pita breads

Spiffy - which is mung bean based.

Slick - Black eyed peas with sweet potato. Has an evident color to it and a peculiar sweet taste to it. Again, goes well with the bread

Wango - Aubergine based with sun-dried tomatoes, with fried garlic n balsamic reduction

Next up were the starters

🌟 Blazin - Rawa Prawns presented with their own take to it. Spicy is the word. The spice hits your throat right after the first bite of this one.

🌟 Bong - Bengali spiced potato spheres with bell pepper sauce. Has a tangy mustardy feel to it. The stuffing is good and presented well too

🌟 Going Around - Grilled Chicken marinated in sauce, topped with a Blueberry and grated coconut to go with. Tastes good, it's close to the usual tandoor chicken you've had elsewhere

🌟 Playful - Pizzas with Pulled Pork n Pineapple. While one may write off this one, the pineapple doesn't make the pizza sweet. The pulled pork is what powers this one through n through and the pineapple acts as a flavor to go along with it with bits n pieces
Delicious and quite a meal for one

🌟 Gnarly - Thick Shake with Apple, mint leaves and pineapple garnished with grated coconut. The frothy layer of the apple is evident but the pineapple n mint is what brings you the colour. The juices are one for the health freaks as they have a good variety

🌟 Smashing - Beetroot Butter chicken served with Naan are just too good to miss out on. Definitely unique and the red color is just beautiful to say the least. This one from the mains impressed me the most
Good portion size for two along with other items

🌟 ShotGun - Finished it with a dessert. What better than a cheesecake with a crust of Parle G with chai glazes to give the subtle taste to it. Coupled with old monk and caramalized ginger that blends surprisingly well with it. Perfect end to the lunch. Leaves you with a sweet taste lingering in your mouth and filling.

The chef Yung is a guy with very keen attention to detail and passionate with the food he serves n curates. The place is very welcoming and staff is really helpful and accommodative of our needs.

Overall,
Ambience - 5/5
VFM - 5/5
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 5/5

Almost a perfect place if there's one but there's always scope to improve. Would totally recommend this to the readers alike. Be open to fusion foods n you'll love this place

Cheers

My friend happened to stumble upon this palce on zomato while searching for a good place. And am glad he did, with their unique name and concept we just went for it without having any second thought. The cafe is quaint and vouch on minimalism when it comes to the ambience. I was spellbound with the concept of cardboard decor, tables and chairs. The staff are kind, courteous and quite helpful in choosing your food depending upon your taste. Coming to the food and drinks- We went for the mocktails and they were refreshing, for the food we ordered each dish on the menu from starters to dessert and everything was sumptuous amd delicious. They also have gluten, dairy free and vegan options. Am definitely coming back to this place soon.

Love xoxo

Cardboard, BKC Inspire’s newest dining destination, stays true to its name. There are sheets of cardboard everywhere, fashioned into stools, tables, chairs, mini-ladders, lighting fixtures and stands. It’s like being in a cardboard box but an upscale, coffee-friendly version. Perfect place to spend time with friends and family, the staff was polite and helped us with our orders and helped us customize them which was amazing! Overall Id an amazing experience here and I will highly recommend this place.

Cardboard, as the name says, the place has interiors of Cardboard only. The concept I loved. Very unique and very soothing ambiance, the place place gives amazing vibes.
Located in the heart of BKC, just behind MGL pump.

Here is a list of things we tried there:

1. Broke: Started withe the Broccoli Soup. The soup had great texture and superb taste. Pretty much recommended.

2. Peace: The Salad for vegetarians. Very nicely blending veggies with the tangy plum on it. Presented well and tasted awesome.

3. 4 slo Hummus: This was just amazing. It gives you a kind of Hummus platter, which has 4 flavors of hummus served with Pita. 2 were more on the sweeter side and 2 on the mild spice. Loved it completely.

4. Lola: A simple looking and great tasting dish. It has ONLY MUSHROOMS cooked in olive oil.

5. Cortado: A coffee recommended for people who prefer it to be strong. Highly recommended.

6. In your Dreams: A gluten free chocolate cake which was spongy and blended with Vegan Nutella.

Definitely a must visit place. The food will not make you feel heavy. The place has great staff and quick service.
A good place to chill for an evening snack or an after office snack.

If you thought there isn’t any further left to offer in Mumbai food scenes, and the city has exhausted all possible cuisines and variations…think again!

Cardboard is here to prove you wrong! The newest food joint located in the elegant BKC Inspire building has opened its door couple of months ago. And believe me, you got to give atleast one shot to understand why this place deserves 5 stars.

Create, Consume, Change is what their philosophy is, which means they will be creating new variations and changing their offerings sooner than other restaurants. As the name suggests, their interiors are designed by using Cardboard which is sustainable friendly and very sturdy. Btw, interiors also include their seating and furniture (Yes, quite innovative).

Not just the interiors are amazing, but this restaurant offers some unique combinations in food too. Chef Yung has crafted each and every dish with utmost love and attention. His passion is infectious and can be experienced in every morsel.

Here’s what I had during my visit:

1) 4 Sho Hummus Platter: I have had multiple versions of hummus but this one clearly stands out. My favorite from the platter was clearly Wango which has Aubergine, sun dried tomatoes and Pomegranate in it. The hummus platter was served with bite sized Pita pockets and south Indian pappadam. Quite tasty!

2) Ace Soup: This was a soup shot. Served in cutting chai glass, it had roasted tomato and onion with the perfectly cooked chicken. Highly recommended!

3) Skinney Rolls: This was the highlight for me. Green zucchini rolled with the goat cheese and cherry tomato served on coconut chutney. Each flavor so distinct and different yet complimented each other so well. Not to be missed!

4) Smashing: Never had I imagine Butter Chicken can be made in this way too. Marinated in Bacardi, red in colour which is infused from beetroot, this was delicious. Went so well with naan, I could have had one more serving of this. Must try!

5) Solid: Udon noodles with peanut sauce, yellow bell peppers, shitake mushrooms. Another unique dish from their kitchen.

Last but not the least, the best part of the meal. Dessert!

We had In the 70s – true to its name it’s their take on what French Toast in 70s would be like. French toast in Malta, brandy, mint and cream cheese. So delectable. Do give this one a try!!

Well, we didn’t stop here. Such a sumptuous meal had be ended with a warm cup of coffee. So the chef recommended their classic coffee which had 2 shots of espresso and 1 shot of condensed milk in Hazelnut flavor. Oh my God! Heaven!!

This was one of the finest meals I have had in the recent times. I am surely visiting this place again, soon!

Cardboard! It has now become my go to place.
I am so amazed by the idea behind it. Everything out there is made of cardboard. Imagine!! 💯

What we had in the start was a Pumpkin soup, followed by starters :- What a hip, What a fry, Skinney Rolls and Bong ( a famous bengali food)

In the main course we had :- Totally awesome main course ( made of coconut curry and tofu served with rice) .

For desserts we had a Shotgun dessert and a Far out shake.

Food out there was a mixture of health and taste.
You even get Vegan and Gluten free options. So its even more attractive for weight watchers out there. It took me by shock that healthy food can be this tasty. It is always a delight visiting this restaurant. Waiting for the next time.

Restaurant made up of cardboard, never thought of such an amazing idea.what a beautifully made and created. Very beautiful decor and lightings.also had soft background music and very quick service. Chef yung cooked really great dishes in small portion for us.and they were really delicious.now lets have a look on what we had.basically our chef yung tried to give southern touch to many dishes. Basically we started with Ace soup with chicken which was containing tomato , pumpkin and many spices with boiled shreaded chicken.and it was really so great. With that we tried Hummus with 4 flavors (Zen, spiffy, slick, wango) and pita bread which was served with papadam.hummus is one of my favorite Arabic dish.and i got satisfied with varities of hummus. Then we tried something egg and chicken dish namely "Babu eggs with chicken sausage and veggies in southern curry"egg was cooked with mashed potatoes , veggies and added chicken sausages and on top of that spanish egg was placed very lovely.which just flow with just small lil cut.it was lovely and delicious dish and you should try this. We tried some chicken Starters Jock : very crisp korean chicken infused with korean sauce.and this was one of my favorite portion of meal.i would like to suggest everyone to try this. Going around : perfectly grilled chicken with green papaya sauce which was melt in mouth. Pop : it was crispy chicken tenders, infused in chilli and thyme with chef special sauce in brandy.sauce was really delicious. In Sandwich we tried "Tight sandwich" which was lacking with sauces inside and bread was really too hard.taste wise it was average dish.it would have better if they replace bread with softer bread or add more sauces. In Main course we thought to have something creamy and with that creamy theme we ordered "Smashing" which was butter chicken with twist in gravy.so basically they made gravy with tomato and Beetroot sauce and it was cooked in bacardi liquor. And we enjoyed dish with butter naan which really soft from inside and very well cooked. We also tried some Solid chicken which was udon noodles cooked in mushroom sauce and chicken and it was perfectly cooked and grinded peanuts was added with it.it was kinda sweet in taste.if you like sweet noodles and healthier noodles.then you can opt for this. We finally finished Dessert In the 70s (French toast) : usually i skip dessert but chef yung specially recommended this dish and claim it as best dessert and really it was really great dessert.it was containing super soft french toast with cream cheese and orange.this was mind blowing dish.i would suggest you all to try this dessert. In Drinks we had Tangkhul : which was hot and famous manipuri drink which had lime, ginger and few more ingredients which was really nice. Hey sunshine juice : this was combination of pineapple, orange, carrot and ginger and to be honest this really great and healthy juice as per my knowledge. Eventually i had really great time at cardboard BKC and i would like to visit this place again and again.

Card board does the name sounds different and unique ...yeah .... coz it resonates with its theme on which it is based on. Inside the restaurant everything is made with cardboard from table to lamps everything is made with cardboard. I really liked the interiors and cardboard has been used very wisely, I know it's very difficult to digest that even tables and chairs are made with cardboard but with the finnese and dedication they have designed it, everything seems to be durable and can jump on it. This restaurant is the unique concept of chef Yung which has curated delicious menu. Let's see what we have tried 🍵Pumpkin Soup ☕ It's a blend of pumpkin , carrot, potato and black raisin cooked in Indian spices gives little hint of coconut milk .... Loved it. 🧀 Hummus platter - zen It's a classic hummas made with chickpeas, tahini and olive oil -spiffy Hummus made with Moong Dal and finished with some salsa (Pica de Gallo) -wango Aubergine hummas blended with sun-dried tomatoes and finished with pomegranate. -slick Hummus made with Black eyed peas and sweet potato finished with fried garlic. It was amazing 🍚What's Cracking 🍙 It's a western twist given to desi bhel puri, puffed rice tossed with mushrooms, feta cheese, onion , tomato, Korean Koko chutney, and finished with some potato crisps and curry leaves. 🥙 Skinny Roll 🌯 Zucchini stuffed with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and green Coco chutney .... It was amazing can be tried. 🍜Solid 🥡 Udon noodles tossed in spicy peanut sauce with picked onion, mustard seeds, yellow bell peppers and finished with shitake mushroom and tofu. 🍩 Friend Always🍰 Can't get over it .... It's a sweet french toast topped with peanuts, banana, Nutella, condensed milk and finished with some cinnamon. Must try .... Really want to go back for this dessert. Place is really good but found to be on expensive side.

A great dining experience, with attentive and friendly staff and fantastic food. Had the "Solid" udon noodles and the "Totally Awesome" (rice). Cappuccino is excellent as well, and we'll complimented with the KittyKatty cake. A good place to head to for a relaxing quiet weekend brunch.

We tried many items, few of them are 🔹Good Night John boy (Cocktail) - a fantastic vodka-based drink with Kiwi, jalapeno and fresh pineapple juice. For dessert, we tried 🔹Shotgun – Their special Parle-G Cheesecake dessert with Chai glaze. The best combination of cheesecake and chai. Chai lover should try this.

Eclectic decor that's all - cardboard, and the fabulous sibling duo of erstwhile BAD Cafe behind it, that's super passionate about their food and coffee... What's not to love?! 😎 Their food is tapas style, so don't expect huge portions and you'll fall in love. Try their mint coffee (or any coffee really) and don't miss the desserts. Great choices for vegans and vegetarians too.

Hello guys your blogger is back with some amazing mysterious place with it's unique creativity and a different culture of styles and food. You might have seen the places with sparkling lights or with creative walls or glossy structures and patterns. Ever even thought of a place with none of them no glossy lights or bent chairs. And if a place has it's beauty with a simple craft ingredient called a cardboard. Yes our next surprising exotic place has it's ambience entirely made up of cardboard. Beautiful walls structures and calm place to get a freshness while enjoying their extraordinary Culinary of food. Let's on board at this place and see it's foodfolks. Cardboard gave us a warm welcome with it's refreshing natural welcome drinks. They will make you feel so refreshing and you feel as you are having natural food structures in it. GNARLY Very first drink comes with healthy wealthy apple, refreshing minced mint leaves, sour monarch pineapple & some grated coco. A nice dense creamy shake wherein you enjoy it's every sip. With fine touches of different tastes. HUBBA HUBBA Next tasty healthy drink with good carbs n energizing shake. It consists of Banana, orange, tasty kiwi & chia. Nice shake sweet and fun loving. Two of them are best together to welcome you and gives you a good time with your talks. Very much enjoying thing I found about cardboard is they care that their food is not only tasty and of good quality but also rich in health concern of their valuable customers. PUMP They served two cute handy bowls of soup. Soup had black raisins in it. Something i saw for the first time in soup servings. It's taste was mild not spicy not blunt. Dense and tasty a bit sweet and spice balance maintained soup. They have used main ingredient as pumpkin, along with it health partners of soup were carrot, potatoes, black raisins and chickpeas. So you can see the richness. 4- SHO A LONG platter with fine 4 varients of hummus, served with pita bread and fried papad(southern crisps). Pita bread seems like cute little pan cakes sized ones. Coming to favourite aspect SALAD YEAH BABY If you feel salad is just vegetables that don't taste good. Than this dish will prove you wrong. Salad made with a special korean sauce made by them in their kitchen. This sauce was the heart for this salad. It contains pak choy, bean sprouts, carrots, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, raw papaya and raw mango. So finely and evenly diced. We had two different flat breads they were FAT-SO 4 Different cheese like feta, mozzarella, goat cheese and yellow cheddar. Some herbs and home made tomato sauce. It was quite fine crispy and cheese pull was good. ADVENTUROUS Falt bread pizza with toppings of olives, capsicum, corn, shallots and mozzarella cheese. Tasty pizza a must try. VEG APPETIZER BONG Bengali styled potato spheres crispy balls. With tangy bell pepper sauce. FOOLING AROUND You are served pineapple and mint salsa along with dish of roasted black eye peas and vegetable grilled patty. WHAT IS HIP A tasty crispy south Indian style roll. It's made up of potato, cabbage, ginger, coconut, poha crushed croquette. SKINNY ROLL Zucchini roll made with fine thin sheet of zucchini. Stuffed with goat cheese, green coco chutney and sun dried tomatoes. Coming to mains SMASHIN BASICALLY it's a non veg dish but this time they made a special dish for us in veg style. Let's see how it was. Beetroot greavy with tofu, served with naan. This is new concept for vegetarians. Finally the dessert storm time by... SHOTGUN Parle-G cheesecake with tea glaze. Caramelized ginger. Tasty dessert till yet so short n sweet just like it's name one shot of shotgun and you are done. Thank you chef Mr. Yung for such a lovely dishes filled with your love. Even a great thanks to bar staff RINGYA for their hospitality. It was a great experience at cardboard.
