Being mostly inclined to non veg food i always turn to Panshikar for a fast/veg maharashtrian food fiesta.
Think of upvaas food and Panshikar pops up in my head.
Sabudana wada,
Khichdi,
Batata puri,
Farari misal,
Misal ,
Thalipeth,
Shrikand puri,
Puri bhaji,
Lassi,
Piyush,
Poha,
Upma,
Samosa,
Wada usal
And my all time favorite - kothambirwadi, are some dishes to relish.
The staff is well trained and always brings out all the marathi i can speak.
The Awala sharbat is unique to this place.
The chutney/rassa and dahi is charged extra but worth every penny.
The jalebi and gulab jamun always look appealing on other table but i have to still try them.
The prices at Panshikar are on the higher side compared to similar restaurants but they balance it with quality food.
Parking can be a problem at Panshikar.
Now that dine in has temperorily stopped. I order and pick up my parcel and everything is super smooth
At panshikar marathi cuisine will surely delight you.
it's your fast(upvas) Panshika is a heaven to go on a fast, known for its authentic delicacies. U have to wait for 15-20mins on a fast day for order.
Must try fast items-Batata puri, farari misal, sabudana wada, sabudana khichadi, peeush, lassi.
Non fast items-Batata wada, misal pav, thalipith, kothimbir wadi they also serve shrikhand puri, puri bhaji.
And the best part about the restaurant is their amazing chutney. People charge 15rs extra for that chutney. A bit tight to pocket but worth visiting.
ONE OF THE FAMOUS RESTAURANT IN GIRGAON.ITS BEEN HERE FROM SO MANY YEARS.BEST RESTAURANT FOR MAHARASHTRIAN DISHES.THE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL AND WELL DISIPLINED.

Ambience:- typical modernised as compared to all the other panshikars I have tried with a white and green theme and yes it has a upper deck where there’s a Ac section too
Staff:-calm and good people around yeh more responsive if you speak Marathi with them✨
What to try:-Farali misal , puran poli and yes kotimbir wadi all are best out there and for some mouth relishing try the Piyush over here too
Visit again-yes

Authentic Maharashtrian Cusine ! If you are looking for great Maharashtrian Cusine with legacy of decades Panshikar Ahar is the best place to visit. We would personally recommend Puri Bhaaji and Misal . Piyush is a must have after meal . It truly enriches your inner soul. The place is best suited for food takeaway.
This place is located in the heart of girgaon. The place is specially famous for fasting food. They serve awesome sabudana wada, puri bhaji, and sabudana kichidi. The place is really good. And the taste of the food is also awesome. Panshikar is one of the oldest and the famous restaurant in Girgaon area. It's too rushy on the fasting days. Nice place do visit once.
We have been having food from here since many years now. They do not deliver the food but there is always que for parcel pick ups as well as eatins. We had many things from here. Do not miss their corn pattice, thalipeeth, farali and sabudana patice, vatana (green peas) pattice and PIYUSH
One of the good old hotel of Girgaum. Reminds u of the culture and neighbourhood.
A visit is a must whenever in the area.
This place located at Charni road ( Girgaum) 5-7 min away from Charniroad station. This place serves best maharashtrian dishes.
This place is crowded for they dishes. Avoid visiting on sat & sun
On Menu : Sabudana vada
Thalipeeth
Sabudana vada is a traditional deep fried snack from Maharashtra, India. It is often served with green chutney
Thalipeeth a type of savoury multi-grain pancake
made from roasted grains legumes and spices, most onion, fresh coriander and other vegetables and spices are added.
These dishes were mouthwatering with pocket friendly price. Do visit this place onces for maharashtrian dishes.
Jain kothmir vadi was well prepared and tasty. It was crispy and properly baked. Inner spices and batter were accurate, quantity was appropriate, neither it was oily. Coconut chutney was satisfactory.
Mind blowing maharashtrian food. Some of the things you shouldn't miss are potato vada, usal pav, kothimbir vadi and piyush. Very good food with a difference. Highly recommended for a visit
Every time you use the word 'healthy,' you lose. The key is to make yummy, delicious food that happens to be healthy good service
Had been in Girgaum for some work and was hungry by evening. Only one restaurant which struck to my father's mind was Panshikar! This is how famous this is! A humble Maharashtrian snack outlet.
.
Since this is a Maharashtrian restaurant, we ordered Kothimbir wadi, Batata Wada, Kanda Bhajji and Thalipeeth.
.
Everything was so good and authentic! I particularly loved the Thalipeeth with lots of loni on top!
.
The service was also quick.
.
And yeah we noticed that they've renovated the place, so it's not like what you'll see in the older pictures here. It's much brighter and cleaner. Sorry I didn't click any pictures of the ambience.
.
All in all, a good experience!
Panshikar best place in Charni Road to have food and its near to station. Tried the dahi misal and misal Pav it was just amazing. Ambiance is good. Taste of the food is amazing. Never tried such a misal Pav best place to have misal. The dahi misal for the fasting people is just amazing.
Authentic Maharashtrian food. Thalipeeth with loni is a must try. All other dishes are quite filling. Seating is quite congested and messy. It’s better to order online
A perfect restaurant for Maharashtrian cuisine. It's located in Girgaon area and serves typical authentic food like sabudana wada, sabudana khichdi, kothimbir Wadi, thaleepeeth, piyush, kharwas, etc. Their staff is very polite.
So Next time you're fasting or not and crave for a typical Maharashtrian meal visit here.
Go anytime and taste never changes. It's good. I like almost everything. Traditional marathi snacks.
Try Upwasachi misal and all farali snacks 5/5
Service 5/5
Perfect location. Not pricey. It's a place i am repeating since long. Many would have childhood memories with this place.
Maharashtrian style meal or breakfast Restaurant. Very old name. Very well known in maharashtrian locality like Girgaum and Dadar. Great and authentic taste. Service is also nice.
Food was good, but my instructions are not followed... Delivery timing and the behavior of the staff is good. I Hope next time my instructions will be followed..
Have ordered khichadi and sabudana wada( was very hungry could not control ;) awesome it was super delicious. As name says Panshikar (truly maharashtrian brahmin) carry the legacy of serving authentic cuisine. Farali chutney was tasty and goes well with khichadi and wada. Misal lovers do try misal.
This place has been around since ages and the taste hasn't changed much and thankfully they haven't bowed down to society demands and kept south Indian, chinese and punjabi stuff on their menu.. It remains a true maharahstrian at its core. The kharvas is a must try and it's hard to get this as good as these ppl make anywhr arnd. The usal and faral items are also worth a try.
When in Dadar, this place is your must try for Misal Pav and Piyush.
----------
I ordered
• Misal Pav
• Piyush
----------
Just by the first taste the spice will win you. The taste can never beat any other misal. By far the best Misal you can ask for.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Panishkar is really a good place for all Maharashtrian food lovers. The place is hygenic and with quick services. They serve authentic taste of maharashtrian delicacies.
Things I ordered were :
Sabudana wada- must try at panishkar. They were soft, hot piping and crunchy. They were really good.
Next was Misal pav- misal was quite good. It was spicy and gave perfect flavours of spices. It was good.
Puri Bhaji- hot piping puris with simple aloo bhaaji. Served with onions and coconut chutney complete the meal. Totally loved it.
Also must have is PIYUSH. Perfect for summers.
Overall its a very good experience.
Best place to have Marathi food and the delivery was also very good and the staff was friendly and the good thing was that they explain so perfectly about every dish.
Treat for all the maharashtrian food lovers. Sabudana wada, Batat vada, kothimbir vadi and piyush over here are some of the best dishes that i like. The service is quick and price is not very expensive.
An old Maharashtrian delicacy place which gives some lip smacking kothmbir wadi, corn patice and shrikhand puri. Their Piyush is really amazing too. They also offer farali (fasting) items
Have heard a lot about the SPECIAL MISAL PAV AT PANSHIKAR. Amzing misal pav enjoyed it to the core. Too much misal required 2 extra pavs. Very reasonable place for lite Maharashtrain food. Loved it
This is a small outlet in Girgaum
They have an amazing variety of maharashtrian dishes right from snacks to fasting food!
Must try the vatana pattice and the sabudana vada
Also they serve the best piyush and kharwas!!
Authentic marathi food. We ordered misal pav which was spicy and tasty. Sabunda vada which was piping hot and ended up with piyush. Small eatery but well maintained. Staff is cordial. Place is clean.
A very old place known for maharashtrian cuisine....I had ordered a parcel where kothimbir wadi is a must have it was delicious with flavours bursting and melting in the mouth the taste enhancer was crushed peanuts that they had put in it....next was the farali Pattice big in size and very rich stuffing again excellently prepared....the farali bhaji made of potato was v disappointing u can skip that....the sabudana vada is also good..thalipeeth was also delicious however misal was disappointing as better ones r available in one of the eateries in the vicinity..yet to try more on it....will come back again
Had a good experience to grab Maharashtrian Delight in Panshikar. It's Well renovated. Ordered Puri Bhaji, it consist of mixed vegetables but it's delicious. And also ordered Misal Pav, it was little spicy but tasty. So hope to visit to these place again and again.
Wonderful place for traditional Maharashtrian food. Don't miss out on the Sabudana Vada, Kothimbir Vadi, Farali missal, Dudhi Halwa & Amrakhand. Also try their signature Piyush (shrikhand based drink) or Kokam Sarbat that is tempting any time of the day.
Go for it!
Here u can enjoy typical marathi style food and even fasting. But place is tiny so have to wait for your turn. Must try thali peeth. Which comes in two type. regular and Fasting. So what r waiting for.
I have been frequenting this place since childhood. I love their farali dahi misal, batata puri, rajgira puri bhaji, piyush and kharvas. If you go during occassions when people fast, you'll have to wait for a seat, but it is worth the wait time.
Had a good experience to enjoy some delicacy from Panshikar.
Ordered Puri bhaji, it’s was served delicious with a complementary coconut chutney. Really loved it.
Panshikar in Girgaon resembles the epitome of Maharashtrian delicacies. Have had a lot of poori bhaji at lot of other places..but the taste of Bhaji and crispiness of the Poori is amazing the icing on the cake is the cocunut chutney they serve along..
Misal pav was also good not upto the class of the Poori Bhaji ..the.misal pav is good as it was not very oily and not very spicy.
The ambience is not that great but a place to relish Maharashtrian food.i totally recommend it 👌👍
The poori bhaji is simply amazing..the crispy poori are piping hot and chutney adds to the taste of the aloo bhaaji
Misal pav is ok .. one good thing the misal is adequately spiced.
If you want to have the perfect Marathi style Batata Vada, just hop in without any second thoughts.Loved the Thalipeeth too.Misal Pav was good ,but not extra ordinary. The best dish according to me was the Farali Misal (non-spicy misal preparation, specially eaten while fasting).
P.S. - Was too hungry and Farali Misal was too tempting. Apologies for no picture.
I regularly take food at this place the food is really good
i am delivered wrong food so i returned the food and was promised by the delivery guy he would get the food in 10 minutes..havent recieved tge food yet
Puri were a little oily but overall good!
Said to be one of the oldest eateries of Girgaum, the management seemed to have upgraded the interiors to keep up with times , so is it with plating.
The menu and the taste although remains traditional.
Panshikar has a wide range of upvas items... Best option for people who fast..People can have breakfast too... I tried their vatana pattice... It was okk okk.. I personally did not like it.... Also tried their special misal pav..... Loved it.... The taste was good....
One of the oldest places for authentic Maharashtrian food!
The pohe, sabudana wada and batata wada were all soo good and fresh!
Panshikar is a pure veg restaurant located at girgaum specializing in authentic maharashtrian delicacies. I ordered their special misal pav along with batata wada and sabudana wada.
The taste was really awesome and the quality and quantity were top notch. Really looking forward for another round of order.
My favorite place. Same delicious food and taste from years. Very good hospitality. Reasonable place. Especially with lots of blessing because the pure farali food they serve.. Of fast.
Famous for Maharashtrian delicacy. I order Misal and Piyush and both were good. If you are hungry and want to have quick snacks i would recommend this place for you. Since the service is super fast.
Authentic Marathi fast food on plate. If you are on frequent fasts then you can consider this place. I loved the piyush here
I haven't found anything so great as per taste of food is concerned. This place is famous for fasting food (farali misal, sabudana wada, rajagira puri etc.). I tasted the upvas or farali misal but not so impressed with the taste. Cost vs quantity is not good for pocket. Higene is good and crowd look typical customers.
In case you happen to near churni road or grant road you can try food here. Especially when you are not eating looking at quantity.
Nice upvaas (fasting) food
Panshikar Aahar is a popular restaurant located in Girgaon, Mumbai, India. It is known for its delicious Maharashtrian cuisine, especially its sweets and snacks. The restaurant offers a wide range of traditional dishes, including Misal Pav, Puran Poli, Modak, and Bhakri. Panshikar Aahar is a great place to experience the authentic flavors of Maharashtra.
Girgaon visits cannot b complete without visiting Panshikara aahar.. authentic maharashtrian quick bites are must Have here... Thalipeeth with Loni is all time Fav.
This time tried Sabudana wada too.. amezing crispy outside and soft from inside.
Best place to have authentic & yummy Maharashtrian food & snacks. All food snacks they serve r fresh n r pocket friendly
misal pav is awesome tasty n subudha vada is fresh n tasteful
Very authentic and tasty Maharashtrian food. I used to love masala toasted vada pav, which they stopped now but simple vada pav also delicious.
If you want to have tasty local Maharashtrian dishes then this is the place for you. Good service, delicious taste and not at all oily. One of the oldest restaurants in Mumbai and one shouldn’t expect much for its ambience.
Nice cute joint with good clean ambiance and reliable maharashtrian food, good service, but a tad small so a bit disconcerting.
Unchanged taste since decades! Quantity has been decreased with increase in prices.
However, they need to switch over from using melamine plates to something more decent.
Our go to maharashtrian snack place since we were kids. Almost 20years since we keep eating here regularly. Everytime I land in Bombay after being away for months I order their Farali misal with chutney from the airport. I absolutely enjoy eating it . Their piyush and thalipeeth is also great. Earlier i used to enjoy their kharwas but now it’s not the same and quality is deteriorated . It is at panshikar that I learned to share the table and eat with strangers comfortably.
Best place for people who are fasting and vegetarian. Food quality and taste was very good. Quick service.
One of the best places in south Mumbai for vegetarian food especially during fasting. Thaalipith, sabudana wada, batata puri, puri bhaaji, farali misal,...all are so very tasty. All typical Maharashtrian food items worth tasting. In drinks one may get kokam sarbat, piyush. Located on busy streets of Girgav. It has one more outlet nearby where they osell mithai and other food items to take home.
