Go there for their unique desserts. We had jalebi cheesecake and malpua rabri. Unfortunately, it was a dry day so they couldn't flambé the rabri. Loved the ambience. It has an old world charm to it. Polite staff. Good service.
Went to Gallops for their Christmas special dinner last night. They had advertised Turkey. As I placed the order,I was told there is no stuffed turkey. Then we ordered the glazed ham and lobster thermidor. Both dishes tasted good. For dessert we had the baked Alaska which was again made well. Ambience and service were fantastic.

Such a massive change a couple of days makes. From one end of the spectrum to the other. Neha, Neil and I came back to Gallops and everything was spectacular today!
The ambience (which was absolutely) , the service and most importantly the food! Massive thanks to head chef and owner Yajush Malik for this exceptional experience.
It was great to see feedback taken seriously and the resolution showed the class and poise that one should expect from a place as beautiful as Gallops.
Not only did we enjoy a great meal but we also got to see an evening race which made the experience even more fun.
All in all a great day at Gallops. Looking forward to going back again some day soon. 😊✌🏼

A bit noisy but great place to enjoy a good meal of Indian cuisine. Missed the photo of the starter's. They were too good to look at and my stomach was growling with hunger. Just devoured them. The galouti kebab a must have. Something I tried new was a chura roomali. Interesting and tasty. On the Vegetarian side, a naram dil kebab a good change from the regular paneer tikka. Can be made a little spicier but good dish to have.
On the main course... having eaten plenty of starters one can't do justice. Best to just have mains next time , to enjoy. However a lasooni palak "garlic spinach" a must must have with a crisp butter naan.
For sweet lovers.. the jalebi cheesecake and bread pudding are a must have. Other options to seemed interesting but obviously I cant eat the entire menu in a day.
Will go back to try the other menu items..

This place snug right besides the racecourse in Mahalaxmi was on our bucket list since long. We chose this place for a birthday celebration. I called to book a table of 3 unfortunately the outdoors was entirely booked for a private party. We were promised a table for 3 by the window and we got it when we were there. On the phone they said don't have much of an arrangement for bdays as such. But the waiters got.us the cake pedestal, played the bday "cassette" and brought in cake plates and stuff. The place visually is a gem and the beautiful ambience reminded me of those old club restaurants my dad took me in my hometown 18-20 years back. Most of the waiters were old school and it was funny. But they served us really well. Only thing was multiple people came asking us the same questions over and over again. That was ok. The place is exceptionally cosy and one should definitely come here a little earlier during the evenings to just walk around the property.
* Accessibility: 5/5 Easy and ample parking space.
* Ambience: 5/5 old styled, castle like interiors, full of greenery in and around the place, comfortable seating.
*Service: 4.5/5 The waiters were quite well informed and courteous. We liked the age wise senior guys more.
*Food: 3/5 The food was Average. The Price was cheaper for the place, ambience and significance of the place but was not worth if you consider only the quality of the food.
We ordered for two mocktails BeedBlue & Virgin Mojito both of which we loved.
Chicken Achari Tikka was juicy and the spices well done.
Cream of Mushroom Soup was quite salty though.
The Veg Dum Biryani was over spicy with overpowering ginger slices in it. WaterChestnut Chatpata again was over sour and cud'nt actually have more than one helping.
*Conclusion: Average priced for a one-time visit all for its lovely ambience. If only for food, then you have other much better and cheaper places to go to.

Food: we ordered mutton Gulati kebab , chicken dori kebab and chicken biryani.
Mutton Gulati kekab came with cinnamon it's an old shahi arabic dish with superb taste. If u like spicy don't go for it. Chicken dori kebab was also good warped with a thread. And awesome taste.
Chicken biryani tasted as u would taste anywhere else but quality of chicken was good.
Food is expensive but worth the quality, service and ambiance.
Worth the price. Classy place to visit. Not a costly affair given the ambience and location.
Mutton was well cooked and the onions where even more tasty. One of the best mutton dishes that I have had recently.

This is a restaurant that one must visit during the winter months in the evening. It has a fabulous sit out area. We went there for lunch and ordered the chicken dori kebab , andhra style chicken Boti (must try) , truffles shahi Khumb which was really good, the Delhi ki khaas tikki which also is delicious , the mili jhuli sabzi was really good in the mains along with the cheese garlic naan. The roomali was okay and can avoid, also had the dal moradabadi which was very different and worth a try if you like thick dal. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t great at all and can be avoided totally.

There is no competition to this legendary restaurant! What a classy ambience! Such lush greenery on the outside with traditional interiors, super super impressed. If this wasn’t enough, the food left us speechless. Ordered chicken a la kiev- chicken breast stuffed with cheese and butter, served with fries and veggies. A must must try! Chicken lasagne was amazing too! The quantity is really good. Definitely visiting this place again.

Lovely place in the midst of the Mumbai racecourse. One of those old time favourites. The Galauti Kebab and Prawn curry are highly recommended. The Paneer Shashlik isnt as great as its made out to be.
This place is magical with its fairytale vintage feel. Food was good although little expensive and quantity tad bit less, nevertheless, the overall experience and feel good factor of this place is wow. I visited Gallops with my fiancée to celebrate her birthday. She, being an architect and a plants' person fell exuberantly in love with the classy interiors and the lush green, neat exterior.
The staff was very attentive and courteous. As requested, they gave us a table by the window facing the racecourse with the backdrop of the luminous skyline. Posting a picture of the same (taken outside the entrance).
She instantly fell in love with the scrumptious food. Although we ordered only a couple of dishes and mocktails, it was sufficient to fill us, literally and mentally ;)
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!

It's lavish and I could order only starters as I had a prior dinner committment but trust me this is something you have to see if you prefer checking out new and different ambience .This is the place which give out a Romantic yet classy feeling through its ambiance.you can enjoy the lush green view of the race course,Great dining experience with beautiful decor and nice staff. Although its famous for seafood, the chicken kebabs and other dishes tastes great , I could order only Paneer Shashlik and trust me I didn't even bother what it tastes like because of the excitement of being there.

Featuring some of the finest loose teas from TGL Co. and limitless sweet and savoury finger food, this is an experience you have to try.
The menu is set and you can choose from vegetarian to mixed selections. To accompany these, you can choose one of the teas or stick to a regular chai , ice tea, cold or hot coffee. As part of this buffet you will dine on Macarons, profiteroles, tarts and sandwiches, cheese biscuit fingers and more. The food can be replenished without a limit, however a customer can have just one pot of tea as part of the packages, rest can be ordered a la carte.
The view is serene, as Gallops is located right outside the racecourse, so you have a peaceful and quiet environment and relaxing view. All this while being in the heart of the city.
This British tradition of High Tea is not common in Mumbai yet, hence there are just a handful of places where you can enjoy a selection of teas with sweet and savoury pairings. High Tea at Gallops is available everyday from 03:30 to 06:30 at a cost of 799++ tax with tea and 999++ tax with a glass of wine.

I had heard a lot about this place but got the opportunity to visit this on their 33rd anniversary.
The restaurant has a beautiful entry with greenery all around.

This place is a 5 for me. Probably a 6. Old school charm, time warped waiters, amazing Indian and continental dishes. The Dori kebab was our of the world. The Andhra Boti was amazing and spicy. The chicken with party sheets was amazing as well. For the main course, ordered slow braised lambs. The meat was falling off the bones. We ordered 2 desserts, the jalebi cheesecake and baked Alaska. Both were good. In short, beautiful lush green race course, creepers adorning the restaurant cottage, great ambience, good service, and out of the world food. Price, well it's slightly expensive but you would shell out that for the gallops experience. Cheers!

This restaurant is located in the racecourse, mahalaxmi. The continental food here is extraordinary! They have amazing north Indian food as well. We tried the cream of chicken soup which was simply outstanding, the fried fish with tartare sauce too was superb and for the main course we tried chicken Cecilia which is one if the signature dishes...it was brilliant. Tender pieces of chicken in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and asparagus topped with generous amount of cheese and served alongside herbed rice and sauted boiled vegetables. The veg and corn augratin also was amazing with such generous amounts of cheese, full marks for all that we tried from the continental menu. In Indian we tried the chicken maharaja which was lovely, nice pieces of chicken in a creamy rich gravy and next we had fish in mustard gravy which had amazing flavour. We tried the kheema nan which had stuffing of mutton kheema inside of the deliciously prepared Indian bread. Lastly for dessert we ate fruit jelly which was jelly with fruit s set inside it and we ate the malai kulfi. Not finished yet! You can also get some amazing paan outside the restaurant, the paan shop serves lovely meetha paan and cold sweet paan. Overall a lovely dining experience, amazing ambience, fabulous food and drink menu, totally worth your time and money spent here.

Gallops is a gorgeous place right next to the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse. This restaurant looks surreal (definitely out-of-this-country, if not out-of-the-world!) - with the cottage shaped property covered in creepers and white picket fences outside, amidst the lush green backdrop of the racecourse. You walk in and realize that you've been transported into a different era - the decor oozes class & an old school vibe with its wooden flooring, teak furniture, chandeliers & window drapes.
First thing you notice off the menu is wide variety of unconventional dishes - both Indian & Continental. We started with the Paya Shorba - this was a soup of lamb trotters (feet), packed with flavor thanks to the slowly simmered meat in spices. It was beautifully rich & meaty in taste. We had the Hyderabadi fish for the appetizer course - beautifully treated fish - succulent & well marinated in tangy spice mix - served with a South Indian touch, complete with toppings of fried curry leaves & all!
I was particularly excited to try the Chicken á la Kiev. We were told that it would take 45 mins to be prepared & served, I was so set on eating it that we were happy to wait for that long. Moreover, it didn’t hurt at all to spend some more time at this place, taking in the spectacular view outside & soaking in the legendary vibe of the whole place! The dish arrived faster than 45 mins and looked very cute in terms of presentation - made to like a bird with mashed potato used as props to get the look! The dish in itself was delicious - subtle flavors of garlic & herb, the molten butter within the pound chicken meat oozing out as you dug your knife into it, making the entire smell & taste divine!
And finally the showstopper - the Baked Alaska! I knew I had to eat this the moment I saw this on the menu. (having seen it on Masterchef Australia many a times) And it came on the table looking absolutely spectacular - the meringue layered beautifully - torched to a glorious golden brown on the edges - concealing the surprise of the fruit cake & ice cream within. Our server then flambéd it, on the table - The dying flames incorporated a beautiful smoky rum flavor into the dessert, as we later realized, when we dug into it!
At Gallops, the food, service & décor is all consistent to maintain the traditional, old world charm theme! If I were to really nitpick, I would say the staff could be a tad bit more warmer but then again their solemnity could be all part of them keeping up the formal old-school vibe of the place.
Great place and amazing view of the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. We had non veg platter which had mutton seekh, chicken reshmi tikka, fish and chicken starters. Dal Makhani and Nan was very good.

You don't get to view such beautiful European interiors easily in Mumbai. This place is posh as it can get. Food is delicious. We had;

Caramel custard
Jelly pie
And every dish tasted so perfectly cooked. Amazing.

It has to be one of the best places to have a relaxed dining experience in Mumbai. Nestled within the Mahalaxmi race course it has a great vibe and overlooks the race course. The food is exemplary and the vibe is relaxed letting you focus on the dining experience. The staff is polite and that makes the place even more welcoming. We went there on christmas eve and the place was done up with the theme. The food quality leaves you with a desire to have more but the menu spread will make sure you visit the place multiple times to enjoy the range. If you are on that side of town then don't miss it. If you are on the other side ( like we are) make a plan and go.....it's worth the travel hassle.
Reservation is needed. The photos do not do the delicious dinner we had here justice! Everything was great, and they have a good wine selection if you want to pair a drink with the food.
The service is excellent, and the overall vibe is fantastic! The outdoor decor is lovely, and we shot some lovely photos here.

Gallops has been one of our family’s favourite restaurants since decades!
We recently experienced their monsoon cabanas and had the most extraordinary experience.
The cabanas are functional every year in the rainy season. This is a unique dining experience unlike any other in the city.
Beautifully decorated with fairy lights, flowers and an elegant table set up the cabanas at gallops offer a spectacular ambiance amidst the starry nigh.
The service here was exceptional. The staff is so warm and friendly and you get a butler too.
Coming to the food, we ordered our old classics and some new additions too.
For starters I’d recommend : Malai Broccoli, Palak Patta Chaat, Naram Dil Kebab and stuffed potato skins.
For mains we ordered some melt in your mouth veg Kofta curry, stuffed Aloo dum in a silky red gravy, veggie bean enchiladas and some rotis.
We paired our food with their well balanced cocktails. The pink gin was my favourite!
Don’t miss trying their hazelnut praline or rasmalai for desserts.
It’s one of the most beautiful and exceptional dining experiences in Mumbai.

There are beautiful chandeliers hanging on the trees outside and the internal colonial look just transposes you to an era bygone.
Food is decent . They are known for the "Melba" toast for breakfast- lunch- or dinner and the dahi kabab is also very famous. The lehsooni palak was delicious too.
