Biryani is superb here. But quantity is little bit less. Other than that best place near Grant Road to have south Indian dishes and sea food.
An absolutely authentic, economical and delicious place to visit for sea food delicacies. The Bangda with Rice here was absolutely fantastic and definitely worth trying. Even the Pomphret chilly was amazing.
Amazing Sea food joint at very reasonable rates.

Best place to have sea food in Mumbai in reasonable rate. Place is small with limited sitting but service is superfast and food is delicious. Must try Crab Masala and Surmai thali. Vegetarian option is also available. Dosa is also available
One of my fav restaurants to go for sea food. Fresh hot Neer dosa is to die for. They have a different style of curries here, but they are amazing. Fried fish is equally good. Fried bombil, surmai, prawns are a delight.
Only shortcoming is that they don’t accept cards...
It is one of the best place to have non vegetarian food and especially sea food. Service is very fast and staff has a very friendly behaviour. Loved the ambience.
What a restaurant yaa seriously everything about it is good.. Tandoori chicken is supper tasty.. and their sukkha chicken.. mutton.. full menu was superb fish is fresh and superb yess... Solkadi.. damn tasty.. fully stuffed..

This place is just outside my building. Always a saviour when nothing strikes in my mind abt eating out. Clean and tidy. Prompt service. Authentic Karnataka cuisine. Try their kori roti,chicken sukka,mutton hyderabadi and chicken masala fry. Pocket friendly too.
If it's not my mom's made fish thali, then it has to be a modern lunch home fish thali. A compact restaurant with simple ambience but finger licking food.. Dont forget to taste the pomfret chilli (manglorian style, red gravy) . But do carry a handkerchief while you eat that😜

I have tried chicken sukha,chicken thali,chicken tikka masala,prawns masala and tandoori chicken
The thali and chicken sukha were okay but rest all of the dishes were super tasty non-vegetarians should definitely try this place! And the prices are pretty reasonable !
Modern lunch home was a surprise when I visited Mumbai for the first time. In my two year stay following it, modern was our go to place for good sea food. Please do try their chilly prawn with steamed rice. The prawns are so fresh that my mother who doesn't eat prawns because mostly she detects some kind of offensive smell in them ordered a separate plate for herself.
This restaurant is an ordinary restaurant and that's what makes it special because there are times when we crave for simple, good and tasty food. Yes, you read it right. It has some of the lip smackingly amazing south Indian dishes. Kori roti is my favourite. All the fish thalis are delicious.
I have visited this place once but we prefer ordering our office during lunch our timings.. Place is small but its very comfortable. Food taste really nice and quantity is also add value to money spent.
This place is a very average and a small restaurant with like just 4 tables! Never visited the place.. But judging it on his home delivery I would say that it's a perfect value for money!
Everything is very tasty and also very reasonable! It a not just a pleasure to the tounge but also for the pocket!
A friend introduced me to some food from this place and I have loved it.
After that, if it is lunch or dinner time, I would stop and buy some take away from here.
I love the chicken tikka masala and rotis. And also the boneless chicken biryani.
The best part is this place is insanely cheap! You can probably arrange dinner for about 5 people in about 800 bucks.
Next time I am surely going to try kokani food here.
Chicken Thali, Promfet Thali along with Prawns Fry are too yumieee & finger licking good. Even the Kokam Kaadi is very tasty to drink. No words to express my feelings towards this place. Extremely tasty seafood dishes you get. Ambience is simple & hygien, at the same time the service is also quick. Best place to dine in.....

I had come down to have some fish thali and the suruma fish thali also the bombil fish thali blewed up my mind. It was freaking awesome ;)
They also give cold kokum chaas along with the thali and its like heaven on earth :)
But the place is bit small, so of you plan to drop by there might be chances of waiting with a worth food experience.

Place to be if u are a seafood fan,try chicken kori rotti its a south indian delicacy,fry fish pomfret,surmai very good,neer dosa a south indian dish is crispy and melts in mouth should be had with chicken gassi
Being a foodie and a die hard fan of fish...i ordered home surmai fry, fish curry, chicken biryani, chicken sukkha ...
All were yummmm....for the price i paid!!
Surmai fry was the best...relished it to the core...highly recommended...
Next in line was the chicken sukkha ... nice and spicy...went well with pav
The biryani was a lil dry though but no complaini g for the price it came for...curry was amazing too a good combination with steam rice...

If you don't mind additional carbs to claw back to your tummy, Modern Lunch home next to the iconic Minerva serves some of the most fantastic dishes without drilling a hole in your pocket.
I went here a month back and had the Fish thali along with prawns masala. Loved the food. And would be returning for more. The only downside is the space crunch(I hit the ceiling with my head twice )

Situated near the famous Minerva theatre, Modern Lunch Home is a Hidden Gem..Truly!! Recently came to know about this place..A place that serves some nice Fish Thalis, brilliant North Indian dishes & excellent Chicken delicacies..
I Wanted to visit this restaurant myself, but I felt so lazy ;-) I placed an order for home delivery..Veg Makhanwala, Chicken Tikka Masala & Prawns Fry..All 3 of them are MUST-TRY items for sure..!! We received the order within 30 minutes, which is not too bad..
Chicken Tikka Masala was really good!! They had used the perfect quantity of spices & the aroma was too good..The overall taste got me licking my fingers & later I cleansed the container with my fingers too :-p ;-)
Veg Makhanwala too, was too hard to resist..The veggies used were fresh, the gravy had the usual sweet taste, but in proportion & it really went well with the Butter Rotis we had ordered..
Prawns Fry, I felt was a little too oily but even after they delivered it to my residence, it was crispy enough..The little Rawa on the coating might have kept it that way..The Prawns pieces were small in size though for the rate they charged..But the quantity & quality made up for it..
Would love to visit the restaurant sometime soon & try out other delicacies..

A superb surmai fry, crispy prawns fry and a lingeringly delicious fish curry is how I'll remember MLH. I opted for the Surmai Thali which had two medium pieces of fish fry, fish curry (which was politely refilled), sol kadi (under par), cauliflower subzi (tasty) , two rotis, rice (loads of it ) and the ubiquitous papad. The prawns fry had to be ordered separately, the prawns were puny but plentiful. The ambiance and the location are far from desirable yet if it's only food that matters to you, that too at prices which would have seemed reasonable even five years ago - MLH is your destination.
I love their cuisine because it can be consumed on daily basis specially dal fry and bombil dish my fav

Imagine having a terrific Surmayi Fish Curry Rice and paying only Rs 80 for it. No compromise on quality to be frank! It might not be as good as what you get at the best places but to be frank you are not paying 1000+ Rs as well.
The ambience is extremely small and plain. Like an udipi hotel. This is not a place for light hearted people who look for fancy decor. Very basic and to the point.
Food is terrific. Authentic Konkani taste. All the ingredients are also of good quality. Not oily food at all.
Love their Prawns Biryani (Rs 90) the most. A must have dish! Do try the place if you are around the area for sure.

Visited this place while coming back from lamington road. Not big on space/ambiance but it surely does serve some good chicken dishes. Surely do try - Chicken Tikka Masala, Chciken Hyderabadi, Chiken Tikka Dry.
The chicken was fresh, tender & very well cooked. All the dishes tasted gr8. The service is a bit unprofessional though very kind & helpful. But against the food, that can be accepted.
