I was Tired and not feeling well. Wanted to relax a bit at home without going into the kitchen and offer some test tasty food to my family hence I ordered out from thambbi veg restaurant. They serves delicious food.
Many times i have visited this resto in chandivali to have lunch or breakfast . I really loved the food over here.
Mostly i visit this place for having south indian food which is nice over here . But recently i had tried thali from here. They provide sabji , puri , papad in thali depending on what u have ordered . The food is properly cooked and one can always visit here for having nice healthy dishes.
The taste of these dishes is nice . I always love to visit here. The ambience of this place is also good. The staff is friendly. They provide nice service. The food gets served in time . Overall i have a great experience from here.

Do not have valet parking. South Indian thali was good. But quantity was less. Economical food. Pav bhaji is ok. Will recommend once in three months
Authentic South Indian food and Punjabi food also is a must try. I would highly recommend this place and their other outlets for family foodie experience, as it serves food for all ages and cuisines.
The visit to this delicious restaurant was worth every penny... Every Dish was up to the mark...
Neat and tidy place with warm and helpful staff.
I will definitely recommend my family and friends.
Great place to have a South Indian breakfast - great food and very pocket friendly. Had butter masala dosa and mini idli butter poda, both of which were pretty great.
They have awesome foods with decent price and I'm in love with this place I go there to eat so I can enjoy south food I don't know about other restaurants yet but I like the food they serve here and I'm glad that they are located in a nice place . Good service.
Went there for breakfast and absolutely loved it.
We ordered medu vada, rava masala dosa and misal pav. Everything was fresh and tasty. Rava masala dosa was super crispy with no oil residue on plate or fingers. Even misal had no oil floating on the plate which we liked. The tomato chutney with medu vada and dosa was delicious.
Simple, vegetarian south Indian restaurant which serves variety of south Indian dishes.
We ordered Mysore dosa, Andhra dosa, and masala dosa must say all were good.
Only thing which was not good is service.its service is bit slow.otherwise it's a pocket friendly restaurant with good quality food.
Thambbi...located opposite boomerang building in Chandivali...
my all time favorite Restaurant..proper taste of south ...
I ordered...
podi dosa - made with south indian famous chutney Podi/Chutney powder you can say..they serve with sambhal & 2 white & orange Chutney..
try once in your next visit..
4/5* because
parcel delivery is very slow ..it takes more than 60 mins for delivery food.
Visited Thambbi on the recommendation of a friend and didn’t get disappointed. We tried Andhra masala dosa, rava masala dosa, Mysore masala dosa . I loved the Andhra masala dosa however their lemon juice is not so good.
This is not all, it was economical too.
Worth visiting again.
I have been visiting this thambi outlet since like 8 years and never ever have I felt that there was an off day when I did not receive what I expected!! Everything here is tasty and the filter coffee in particular is scrumptious here!!!😊😊😊
This is the place where the dishes are beyond their expectations. The ambience is so beautiful and amazing that the customers are eager to have a look at the whole place the moment they get there.
The pav bhaji and Masala dosa are extremely awesome here .
Some of the people visit here to just have the dahi vada because it's actually very tasty.
The service staff is very cooperative and fast.
Decent place, was recommended by one of my south indian friend for their authentic Chutneys and Sambar. I dont see them tobe the best but do the job better than 70-80 percent of the restuarants around. Loved their Punjabi preparation as well for dinner especially our favorite Paneer Butter masala. The location is dingy though, cant do much on that in Mumbai can we?
One of the best south Indian restaurants , I've visited in Mumbai till now. The prices are quite affordable and quantities are adequate enough.
The place is small and one needs to be quick in spotting an empty space on a table to grab it.
Food is tasty, the quality is good, service is prompt and it's a decent pocket friendly option in this area! Though it's a typical south Indian restaurant but do try paneer makhanwala with lacha parantha which actually tastes better than some of the veg restaurants.

Very conveniently located near Nahar Amrit Shakti in Chandivali. A decent place to satisfy quick south I Dian craving. I just love the place for a hot south Indian breakfast on a Sunday morning. The set dosa in the menu is something not easily found everywhere. The sambar has authentic Tamil Nadu sambhar taste. The filter coffee served in traditional south Indian tumbler is the soothing thing. A definitely recommended place .
An outlet with reasonably priced South Indian items. Food is delightful hence paisa vasoool. Ambience is decent. Servers are quick and humble. Highly recommended.
Really loved their combo offers, the sheera is too good and Uthappa is also good. lOved the place totally recommending it for dozas the only that I don't like was missal.
This place is right outside my office so thought of giving it a try.
Ordered for Mysore masala dosa and one lassi.
The dosa was pure authentic and yummy.
Lassi was bad.
A good place with good food😋👌
Brilliant place if you enjoi South Indian food!! The lunch thali is really good and fulfilling !! Good for an office lunch kinda setup !!keep it up guys
Walked in casually for a Wednesday afternoon lunch and discovered this amazing find: podi butter utappam under the "Thambbi ethnics" section of the menu.
This buttered utappam is topped with what was referred to as "gun powder" by the staff, and it was as revolutionary as it sounds! I could figure out the ground lentils (chana dal powder) roasted along with pepper and chilli powder, but was further informed about ground mustard seeds as well that goes into the assortment before being roasted!
Banana milkshake made for a great accompaniment.
Suggested way for eating: use the spoon like a knife to cut long slices, fold the slices to wrap the powder dressing inside the slice and eat with the fork. I got my hands and trousers full of the "gun powder" at first before I realized this trick :p
PFA, pic for reference (yep.. that's an utappam, not a pizza) :
Been here for lunch with my family here.As soon as I reached this place, i witnessed this place full of crowd and the waiting list was long. That was the moment when I got curios to find out what's behind the door of Thambbi.
Ambiance & Service:
The ambiance of this place was very good. Something just perfect for family dineout. The ACs were working well. The staff was friendly and the service was promt. The menu choices were decent and almost everything is available in Jain.
Food:
Paneer Lababdar (Jain) : A Medium spicy gravy loaded with long pieces of paneer in it. The gravy was very tasty. Had it with roti and Naan. The roti was made of wheat and served hot. The naan was soft too. Being a South Indian restaurant, as the name suggests, I never expected such an amazing North Indian food here.
Foodie Rating: 4.5/5
Puri Bhaji: A complete meal which is pocket friendly. They served it with 4 puris and coconut chutney. Decent taste and very good quantity.
Foodie Rating: 4/5
Veg Biryani (Jain): Well, everytime when I talk about veg biryani, all we get is either veg Pulav or masala rice. But here, the scene was a bit different. The biryani was amazing. It had aromatic rice with gravy beneath them. When mixed together, had an amazing aroma and was delicious. Highly recommended. 💯✓✓
Foodie Rating: 5/5
Verdict:
The moment when I took the first bite, I understood why this place had so much of crowd. This is a very good restaurant. Delicious food with pocket friendly rates, makes it a great place to be at.

Thambbi as they have their name I'm giving them a thambbis up! ( That's lame) ik! But not the food it's amazing! Specially the paper Dosa, the size of it give us goosebumps! Even the South Indian starters are good to have a little far from sakinaka metro but worth to travel!
I keep making short trips to chandivali almost every second day and this is my go to place for filter coffee whenever I’m there! I love their dosas, coffee, thalis and their banana pakoras are love!!
Their staff is prompt and you will never be made to wait for more than 5 mins for food.
This place will never disappoint!
Nice south Indian place to eat. Sometimes slow delivery. Staff is rude as usual. Why these guys have Chinese in their menu, I have no idea. Rava Dosa is good. Chilli Idli. Filter coffee is whet u can try.
I like to step in here every time I'm craving some dosa. It's neat and clean. They have good filter coffee
I AWAYS order the neer dosa, it's nice and soft and yummy.
Their sambar and chutney are good too.
However, they are mostly always out of the red chatni and I have never, till date been able to try their bissibelebhat.
The waiters are good, service is prompt. It's priced reasonably.

And never go by the ratings of restaurant visit once then you will know how good is it to dine there i am a hotelier and i never trust on ratings.
Hello everyone!
This is the best place for people staying to Powai / Chandivali who wants to try authentic south-Indian food. We went there for breakfast on Sunday morning and it was decently crowded. I had ordered Onion Rava Masala Dosa and it was very crispy and delicious.
Food: 8/10
Service: 7/10
Menu: 6.5/10

Value for money place
South Indian, North Indian and Mumbaiya

superbb quality, best fasting food i hav
superbb quality and well stuffed sabudana wada with finger chips and sweet curd, but finger chips were not upto the mark, u can improve taste, but sabudana wada is excellent
Their neer dosa and butter podi idily is really really good.
I everytime have the same stuff. In fact their south indian dishes are good.
really good !!
South indian is my go to food, whenever I want to step out/order. However, having my tastebuds and wallet spoiled by Ramashray i could not never settle for anything less unless I tried thambi!
Thambi has comfortable indoor seating, nothing extraordinary. Staff is nice and courteous and service is quite quick.
We ordered idli rasam and onion dosaa both were done nicely! Recommend the place if you cant go to matunga and craving for south indian!
I visited thambbi which is near my office during my upwas.
I ordered finger chips and lassi. Finger chips were crispy and lassi was sweet.
Service was prompt.
Second visit:
We had podi idli , set dosa. Personally i am not a huge fan of idli but ghee podi idli made me fall in love with it. Set dosa was also delicious. A must try.
Third visit.
Podi drew us back to Thambbi. We had podi idli and podi uttappam. Both were soft and delicious. We also had filter coffee. It was amazing too.
A must visit for an awesome breakfast.
This nice small restaurant is located bang opposite Boomerang Corporate Park. Therefore had a lot of office crowd during lunch. It serves north and South Indian cuisines. The food taste and quality is good. Tried Pav bhaji and wasn’t disappointed.
This place will remind you of 90s restaurants, simple and satisfactory. For seating, they have benches here instead of tables and chairs. Located near my residence, this has become my go to place when we don't have anything cooked at home or just order in and the delivery is within half an hour.
We have mainly tried South Indian food though they serve just about everything.
1. Medu vada is a staple for me. I can't believe I hadn't tasted it before but they serve a really nice vada. So much so that when I happen to eat at other South Indian restaurants, I ask for it and they don't have it, I feel like something is missing.
2. Dosas serve the purpose. My favourite is Rawa onion masala dosa, do give it a try when you are there and my friend always orders schezwan dosa. Sambhar is sweet for my taste but the coconut chutney is awesome.
3. French fries are good. Crisp and tasty.
4. Another item we always order is the dahi vada and if you are taking a parcel, they give you extra dahi.
The last time I was there, I saw someone order Sabudana vada and next time, I am going to order that.
Service:
Nowadays, everything is so business-like that when the waiters attend to you, you know there is a considerable service charge for that. This place is busy, you won't find people catering to you asking "is the food good ma'am, anything else ma'am or why don't you try this dessert ma'am" but the service is quick and you'll get what you ask for.
This mention is for their delivery. I dropped the entire chutney once and called them up to ask if they could deliver some more, they told me it was the guy's lunch time, they were very busy but he'd still send it asap. And he did, immediately, and I didn't even pay anything extra. This reminded of when everything wasn't just business and the customer would be heard.
The other time when I asked the delivery boy to tell whoever took the order by phone not to shut it quickly and he told me that the manager is a little hard of hearing and we both started laughing. or when they didn't have change to give back but we adjusted that in the next order.
These instances make me feel like that this isn't an outlet of some restaurant chain but my local familiar, reliable food joint.
The perfect restaurant for your South Indian food cravings! Just opposite to my workplace, the combos are a good options to try! Loved the Rassam and the Batata Vadas over here. The cutting chai was also good!
This is the place that sates my craving for South Indian food when I don't have much time to spare. Decent meals and a wide variety of dosas and other tiffin items are available at a reasonable cost.
I ordered for butter masala dosa, it came before the expected time, very neatly packed, the dosa was hot and crisp by the time we got it... Quantity was superb ...2 people can easily share one dosa. Yet to try another dishes.. for dosa I would give 4.5/5.
Thambbi is known for his good quality food. I tried it the first time. I had Ragi Sada Dosa. They made it in ghee.
The packaging was perfect. I received Sambhar, chutney, and dosa in separate packs. everything was in place. no spill.
The taste was good. Sambhar was not hot but fresh.
Quantity was enough for one.
As Always Thambi known for very good food especially South Indian Food, Lunch Thali also available in some options.
Location in front of Boomerang Building in Chandivali, here mostly working crowed comes. Sharply closes at 11 PM in night.
Accepts All kinds of payments.
Always recommended for good vegetarian meals.
Visited thambbi, This restaurant is a box of delicious South Indian dishes. This is a perfect place for lunch and breakfast with our family and friends. Hospitality was very good and staff was friendly. There are varieties of dosa's available. Which are very tasty. I liked the filter coffee it was amazing.
I ordered, masala dosa which was crispy and nice in taste. Mini idli, medu wada and sabudana wada. I also ordered choley puri served with pickle and 5 puris. I really enjoyed the food.
Overall, an amazing experience.
Good food at afforable prices. A decent family restaurant with A/C. Food was good both in terms of quality and quantity. The place is a little short staffed which makes the service slow.
They charge 30/- for extra cheese and do justice.
It's a casual dining located at Chandivali, Andheri East. It specializes in South Indian cuisine. The food served here never fails to impress its diners.
The cost for two is 350 which is economical.
There are very few good restaurants near Boomerang and Oberoi Garden. Thambi is one of a good option.
Recommended.
Nice place in Chandivali near boomerang to have morning breakfast, they have a lot of break options in regular and Andhra style. Their chutneys are fresh and tastes yummy.
Thambi is a great food chain across Mumbai and never disappoints with the South Indian food variety. I would recommend Thatte Idli with Podi and Ragi Millet Dosa ( not available everyday I guess ).
Nice place for south Indian ad well as North Indian food in and around Sakinaka and Powai area .
Value for money.
A very good restaurant for South Indian food. Ample space for sitting. Main thing is it's veg restaurant.
Punjabi thali is good. Quantity is also pretty good. Gulab jamun is too good. Very tasty
