I regularly visit this place called Tastee which is owned and operated by Kalpana itself. This place has a simple menu and whatever you order, Genet hits the spot. What I like about the place is the consistency in food. Dishes to definitely try here include Pav bhaji, idli plate with powder chutney and cold coffee. The place has limited parking so you might want to keep your vehicle at home and use a cab instead. This is a pure veg place. I would continue to go here again and again.

It was late 1980, I availed the lunch services in Kalpana, which was in adjacent building to my office in Tulsi Vihar. The first order was Kalpana Thali, costing Rs.7/-. The sitting arrangement was in open, in front and on the side of air conditioned (higher charges) dining hall. The items consisted of 5 puris or 2 tanduri rotis, curd, marble size (and shaped) onions, under marinated lemon pickle, roasted papad, tomato soup, sambar, rassam, vegetable curry, dry vegetable beans with grated coconut, boiled and cut potatoes, gulab jamun and rice served separately in oval bowl and dal in round bowl. Once tasted the food, I chose daily lunch at Kalpana and dined with my colleagues. Being regulars, we got replacements - pulav for rice, masala dosa sabji for dry potato, shrikhand for curd and tomato soup for rassam, without any additional charges. Some years later, the thali became more expensive, costing Rs.10/- and outside sitting was abolished as BMC objected. Nowadays, I understand, the same thali costs over Rs.200/- !

Can never miss this spot on the Turning off Worli. At This place you can never go wrong with maybe Chinese or Punjabi or South Indian food . This time I experimented the Punjabi cuisine that was methi mutter , dal and butter Naan. It was a quick business lunch and my colleague did enjoy it as well. I Had to skip the crispy fries but the Guava ( Peru) ice-cream was deeeliicious. Try the ice-cream. The rates reasonable and the food was cooked exactly the way I had requested ( minimum chilli 🌢 and less fats ) Though the Naan was buttery but I liked the way it was served . I WILL RATE IT *****

The place is there since a very long time. The food is tasty. Their thali is a must try. The place is small hence seating is limited. But you won't need a prior reservation to go. They don't have dedicated parking space as well. You need to park on the road. Neither do they have valet service. Bar is separate from the family dinning area. They do have Jain food options.
