An average Thali one can call it ,,, but even the cost we are paying ,,, it's worth it with respect to the unlimited serves...courteous staff... a nominal seating ... tastewise it's good .... If you are a person who loves Gujarati/Rajasthani Food , can opt for it... I swear... you won't repent.
Decent Place With Decent Staff. Food Service Is Also Decent And Food Is Also Quite Good. Enjoyed This Thali Very Much.
Thank You Laxmi Dining Hall For Your Service.
If you just want ghar ka food that is the spot. North Indian thali full of mix veg, dal , raita paneer sabzi, papad, salad, achar, puri, rice, sweets etc, Huge thali and for a hungry people I must say try it, if you are little hungry then don't go for it, you can't finish it.
Lovely place if ur looking for home food like food....very polite and friendly staff who are always going out of their way to serve u a little extra 😉 Although their desert, papad and chaas is limited u can always buy an additional serving. Also their thali as a parcel is totally sufficient even for a heavy eater and I totally look forward to coming here again.
If you are in Borivali and want to try some delicious tasty Gujarati Thali, then this place is amazing for Unlimited food which is served without onion and garlic. It located on the west side of Borivali station opposite Parichay store.
They have 3 different type of vegetables, 2 types of dal(sweet n spicy) , kadi, farsan with sweet n spicy chutney, sweets , papad , pickle , salad , chass, roti, puri, mini bhakri with rice or khichdi. They have a varied selection of sweets and you can choose from among them.
The staff is good and service is quick but if you are puri lover then you have to wait a little for the second round. Khichdi and kadi lovers are more so if you are late or after 2pm then you shall miss the taste of delicious khichdi.
Every day they have a different menu so you can call and check for the menu before you visit.
They even send parcel food on outstation trains. You just have to provide them with your train details.
Simple Homemade food! Must try if you got no option to eat and when you don’t want to eat pizza pasta all the time,go and try this freshly home made food.Too much Yummy
Delicious food and is always my choice while catching train from Borivali station. Its a small restaurant so can't comment on ambiance. Definitely value for money. You can't find such taste even in Maharaja Bhog thali. Customer service is also good.
It's a typical gujarati thali bhojnalay. Quality of food is good. There are two unlimited thali options - Rs. 140 & 160. 160 one includes sweet. Except buttermilk & papad, all the other things are unlimited, you can have as much as your stomach allows 😉 Overall good experience
Yummy Gujrati thali Restaurant near boriwali station west.
Authentic Gujrati test with perfectly balance items like
3 types of vegitable, 2 types of dal, kadi, dhokla, puri, fulka roti,Rice, papad, salad, buttermilk, sweet(optional with extra charge). Less spicy food with pocket friendly price.
Must visit place for foodies.
Feast your eyes and treat yourself once in a while by visting Laxmi dining hall and bet you wont't regret. Cast aside the Non-vegetarian diet and calm your hunger pangs with this simple yet authentic and traditional taste of Indian food. Do carry cash as card payment is not acceptable but then again, rates are pretty much reasonable.
We went to this place with my parents as my mom likes to have simple Indian lunch.. And from a long time we wanted to try this place as well.
Good food. Normal Bhojnalay kind of ambiance.
Very economical. Unlimited thali.. With limited sweets serving.. An option of thali without sweets is also available. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a full lunch and dinner platter in budget.
I've been going to this place since years. It now feels like home. Staff.. Owners.. They r all so humble. Food is like ghar ka khana. 150 for sweet included thali on weekday. Usually i call n then go coz i don't like some sabzis like dudhi or turya or bhindi..so i skip those days. If ure looking for ghar ka.. Budget friendly food.. Laxmi is d place. Im already tempted to go tomorrow.
One fine day ma mom n me went on a shopping spree 2 borivali n got supa hungry by lunch tym...v spotted dys small lil bjojnalay in da jaya talkies compound...v thot of giving it a try n 2 our surprise v had a really tasty gujrati thali meal n dat too for a vry reasonable rate of rs. 150 per thali...ive had thali's at odr places too vich hav variety as well buh den 4 da price dat dey offer its a gr8 deal...i tink any1 wud b mre dan happy wid dys humble place dat serves tasty food...mst go if ure around borivali stn!
Went for shopping in Borivali West and ended up eating at this Bhojnalay. There are various small joints serving thali in Borivali West and we found this place the most appealing. They have their sweet shop and there's a board reading Gujarati Thali on top. The seating arrangement is not so comfortable and the ambiance, well what can one expect? But the talking point is ofcourse, the food. We took one special thali priced at Rs. 190 and one normal thali priced at Rs. 150.
They started with Khaman, which was average and it was all mashed up. Then we got rotis laden in Clarified Butter, puris, moong ki sabzi, cabbage sabzi, rice, gujarati kadhi, daal with sweet and salty version both. The taste was pretty good. The desserts were limited to one portion and they gave me fruit salad and one bengali sandwich. They were also average. But the service is quick and the food is homely and is served hot in the thali. Definitely a go to place for their homely cooked meal which didn't even feel so heavy on the stomach and the spiciness in the food is so minimal but the taste of the food was still amazing.
Its located just near by borivali railways station.. i had thali here which was quite good in term of price and quality also, service can be better, ambience was average..
Personally i love Gujarati thali. And this place serves the typical authentic tasty Gujarati thali. Plus the price is very affordable. Clean ambience and good food.
I loved the food, for the price ,in month of may, burning hot sun ,what can u ask when u get unlimited puri and amras?i was loving it,nothing more to be said.
Maybe it's because I'm marrying my long time gujarati girlfriend or because of its very nature, I've always been a huge fan of home styled Gujju food all my life. I've always been a regular at Rajdhani and more recently at Maharaja Bhog. The food at these joints tends to be extremely rich and heavy. Laxmi Dining Hall serves what comes closest to home cooked soul food, not too oily or spicy. Unlimited servings of 3 veggies, dal, kadhi, chapatis and rice plus one glass of chaas, all for Rs. 120(high resistance to inflation) The thali here is literally a steal. 2 rows of benches facing each other greet you as soon as you enter giving it a rather college mess-like feel. You buy a token as soon as you enter the place. A squeaky clean steel thali with 6 katories is plonked in front of you when you hand the token to the waiter. Service is prompt. Here, you're either eating or paying the bill. Entry to exit will not take more than 20 minutes here, that's how fast the turnaround is. The food, the ambience and service is very simple. None of the over-friendly cajoling to overeat that has become typical of big ticket thali chains. Here they serve as much as you need. There's something very simple and wholesome about Gujarati cuisine and Laxmi brings this aspect out perfectly. Never mind the location (on the overcrowded SV Road, opp Borivali station) or the ambience. Do give this place a try if you're a fan of simple subzi, roti, dal, chawal meals
This place scores for the food and staff great attentive staff ,they feed you with dedication the food is very tasty and fresh only they lose point on the ambience part value for money
Normally Thali restaurants I have checked are brands which are in a price bracket of Rs.450+ and very heavy but the only thing they lack is the homely taste.
This place is located behind a sweet shop and u blink and miss the place type surrounding, but if you ask in the area people will guide you easily and may even accompany you to the place. I had the opportunity to try this in office hours where I wanted a light but homely food.
The prepaid system was good and it took only 3-4 mins after we making the payment that the courteous staff was ready with our Thali fully served.
The food was really awesome and homely. Chapatis served really hot so was puri's. Dal dhokli was something which I had even after the sweetdish .....Gujrati dal and kadhi were authentic. Khichdi was also good but not so hot. Aloo rassa was something which we all I guess finished half of there stock. Aamras seemed to be a canned dish and not fresh. To end there is fresh Buttermilk which makes you feel content.
Overall worth visiting the place as 140/- for such unltd food (except sweet which was Ltd) is really cool.
Good food, great service & courteous staff. What else you can ask for when you are looking for pleasant dinning experience.
This is the ideal place to have Gujarati thali in area of Borivali as food is also not too oily. Taste is simply awesome but what makes it stand apart from other are it's variety of vegetables in every meal.
Its 100% recommended for crazy food loving people.
Signature dish: it has to be Basundi which comes as dessert in every thali we order.
Been here around 5-6 times. Very good gujrati thali. Food is unlimited but Chas, rice, papad and sweet is served only once. One can visit with family also, they have separate sitting arrangement for that.
Nice simple Gujrati Thali! Its not oily & spicy, but still very tasty & also Economical ! The mouth watering wet potato sabji & sweet daal, both r delicious. A very good place for those who love simple Gujarati Thali. The Thali is available in 2 types- with sweet & without sweet. If u r visiting with ur family there is a separate sitting arrangement for family. A small but still a fine place.
Good food for those who like little sweet food, less spice and health conscious
Situated opposite to Borivali railway station in the west. This is a place for all the gujarati thali lovers.
Price was 190 Rs. (With sweet and without sweet it cost 160)
Over-all the food was good and tasty 😋 as well.
Much recommended place.
Its a good unlimited thali place for Rs. 160 (with sweet 190). I visited it on Sat., 2-12-2023 before my departure in the afternoon train. It is ideal for passengers who have arrived or are departing around lunch or dinner. the menu consists of 2 vegetables, one pulse (kathol), tikhaa and mithaa daal, kadhi, chapati, puri, rice and khichdi, buttemilk, papad (both limited). The food is Gujarati / Rajasthani type. Its a no frills place where you buy the coupon, plonk yourself on one of the tables and get served till you are satiated and then leave. If you are a fast eater and there is no waiting time, the entire process can be completed in 20-25 minutes. Overall, a nice experience.
A small dining hall located in Borivli. This dining hall is inside a sweet shop. It's interior was simple, but a little bit filthy. One has to pay upfront and wash hands before eating. The tables were a bit smaller. The Thali plates were kept upside down. Had arranged the plate accordingly and the waiters started serving food one at a time. The Thali consisted of various vegetable items, rotis, puris, curd, shrikhand, pickle etc. All of them were unlimited except for Aamras which was limited. The Thali tasted delicious. The ambience was fine. The service was quick. The prices were reasonable. Overall, a good place for unlimited Gujarati Thali & Rajasthani food.
The place is good for family even individual can have a great experience. The food is delicious and mouth watering. Rs. 160/plate was the current rate excluding sweet dish.
Special Thali Rs.200/plate which includes sweet dish. Few negative points.. the varieties in vegetables was less and few things like chass was limited in thali.
Other services was great. Overall it was good according to the rates.
Can be visited again and again with family or friends it's not a one time visit kind of place.

Very Good Homely Food. Never felt this satisfied having lunch here. Must Visit for Satvik Food.

This place has maintained it's taste and service for long and still going strong. Been a patron for more than a decade and never dissatisfied with this place. Hygiene is maintained at it's best as footfalls are continuous here and it's a frequented by nearby traders & their staff as well as travelers too as it's very near to Borivali Station and it's in the busiest street in Borivali west. Value for money place.
