Been here for a Sunday morning breakfast .its next to Byculla railway station and opposite to Byculla bakery.
We ordered mawa samosa and mawa cakes as a takeaway .
And had chai ,bun maska, cheese omelette pav with raspberry soda.
Chai was nice, bun maska was generously buttered, omelette was yum in taste and so does the mawa samosa and cakes.
Staff is polite ,service is quick, value for money place.
Quality and quantity wise great too.
Thumbs up from my side.
Definitely gonna visit them next for their chicken salami and caramel custard soon
This place is close to Byculla station on the East side. At a walking distance from station you will find this place. This is one of the oldest Irani cafe you will find. Good for snacks. You can try out items like Bun, Bun maska, Chai, Omelette, Patties, Bakery items, etc. Ordered Meetha Khaari; which was unusual but it really tastes Good. You can have this item with Chai also
Visited this gem of a restaurant cum bakery cum general store right outside byculla station east. The store was up and running by 930am. Typical Parsi vibes!
The cafe is minimal. They bake their own breads. The service is fast. I ordered the classic
1. Pallonji raspberry soda 🥤
2. Cheese omelette with pav 🍳
3. Mineral water 💧
Everything done in 72₹. What else do I need.
Next time you’re here. Do try the mawa cakes and mutton patties . Heard it’s a speciality. It was already sold out by 10am, I couldn’t wait for a fresh batch 😔
This place is located exactly outside byculla station....
And it is great for people who travel on trains....
It also has a bakery which will provide you with freshly baked products.....
I often get my breads from there....
👍👍👌
Regal Restaurant and Bakery. Restaurant is older than this fridge; proudly displays. 1932 as year of commencement. It does not display signboard “we make our own bread”. However, serves you breads prepared in-house. Thanks to bakery attached. Fresh. Khari, plum cake, cookies are must try. Have a look at these special dishes:
Rustic ambiance reminded me of olden times. Love the place. The loft, the boards, the antique clock, glass jars everything is amazing.
We ordered kheema fry, it was perfect. Beautifully cooked. Subtly spiced. Just the perfect consistency.
The omelette with cheese and chicken was good. If the chicken and cheese was incorporated into the omellete it would have been even better rather than putting it in the fold. The bun maska was nice. The caramel custard was out of the world. Just a little more caramel and I would be in heaven.
Service: warm and friendly.
One of the oldest restaurant of south Mumbai.
Speciality - Bakery items mainly - Pestry.
Reasonable, Wooden Ambience, Near Byculla Railway Station (East).
Complete irani bakery... Do try the yummy mutton pattice served here and kheema pav for breakfast.. Probably my two favourite dishes two try along with the carmel custard🍮
Food - The Only Reason i give them a 5 Star Rating is because of the Mutton Pattice they Serve, Been eating here since 30 years, and i still Crave for it every day... They Serve some Pretty Good Puddings and good TEA.
Ambiance - Pretty Ok, Nothing Fancy, Just like you would expect an old Parsi restaurant to be, Not Bad for a quick Stomach stuffing.
Location - Pretty Easy to Find, its right on the Main Road, just outside Byculla Station on the East Side. But you aint going to get any parking without your Car or Bike being towed away, so Try to Park at a safe place and come walking for this place.
If during any evening.. your soul asks you to get a cup of Irani chaai with bun maska AT BYCULLA,
REGAL is the place
Regal will give you the 70'S WALA BOMBAY KA FEELING. Like the ones we see in movies
Not a themed restaurant, but it is actually that old!
You go inside and experience the vintage furnishing, where there are Mawa cakes kept on the counter, everyone there is busy slurping the irani chaai and having conversations
I tried their chicken pattice too, it was amazing
I am giving Regal a 5/5, cuz I came out of the restaurant with mixed feelings..
HAPPY cuz i was at peace and
SAD cuz i realized that the charm of the real Bombay is somewhere lost in the midst of the modern KUCH BHI-restaurants of Mumbai
My 5 stars for the brilliant mutton pattice you get here, the likes of which you wouldn't find anywhere in the city. My earliest happy memories comprise the taste of these pattice and a visit to Rani chi baug later. I hope this institution and this gem of a dish continue to wow patrons like it has been for decades.
Came here for the first time and know nothing about this place!!
The ambiance of this place was very catchy and simple!!
Tried only one thing but it was not that good but good !!
Must go for Vegetable Pattie !!
It is really nice!!
Being close to the station it will be a really nice option!!
Oldest bakery located just opposite byculla railway station. I had been there since my childhood , my father introduce me with this cafe. Ambience is old Irani type having wood furniture. They maintain there taste throughout years. Food items are hygienic and fresh. I tried there tea, bun maska, mava cake. Mava samosa is my personal favourite.
Good pocket friendly place ❤
Located very close to a bustling area, this place has a very calm ambience. The interiors will take you for a ride back in time, as you try to imagine how this place must have looked all those years ago.
Visit this place as early as 6-7 am, and you are in for a treat. Good 90's bollywood music plays on in the background (with that special echo effect that only early mornings can create)
Chai is simple here, Mutton Pattis is very good.
Do ask for a pastry called Laal Pari (Angrezi me Red Angel), which is prepared with fresh coconut.
Costs are standard.
I have been at this place many times... And i frequently ordered Mava Samosa and Mutton Patice !!! and wow... its taste never disappoint me... even though an ambience is pretty much normal with its irani touch... but will always love Regal!!! 😚😚
I think it is the oldest bakery of byculla.
Enter the hotel and by its ambiance and looking at fans and ceiling, you will come to know.
Very good for fresh bakery items and breakfast.
I dont know whether they still serve Puffs with special sauce, which used to be 15 years ago.
Irani tea is a must thing to try.
I been in regal many times and today i come here speacialy for ban maska and chai no douts in taste
Its like old days come back
Remember my collage days
I haven't been to Regal for a long time but whenever I come to byculla I see to it to come back home with kheema pav , fresh pav laadi with some cute pastries and puffs. Its simply fabulous to have such soft and spicy sweet bakery items. ..........The people in the vicinity are really very lucky to have such restaurant in their area where they maintain the recipe from such a long time.....

Regal Restaurant, I have been looking this restaurant from my childhood. None of the things have changed so far. Both the uncles on counter are still standing with same charm. Still remember during my childhood, we used go here with my father to have the refreshments which was our best treats.
Ambience is still the same, no changes in that Irani style of restaurant. Wooden tables and chairs, wooden furniture and super food.
Food is mind blowing here specially there cakes and kheema pav...
Regal is a old restaurant famous for mutton pattice and pudding and bakery items. It is pocket friendly for a quick bite. Ambience is old irani type, service is OK, food is fresh and good...best items to have mutton pattice, pudding, mawa cake.

“IRANI RESTAURANT WITH OLD CHARM”
Irani Hotel which has maintained its old charm n has added new items like Mutton Kheema on its menu available on Mon, Wed, n Friday.
In the morning try Brun Maska or Bun Maska with Tea. Veg, Mutton Crust Pattice besides variety of cakes are available through out the day.
Restaurant which do not put burden on your wallet is worth visiting with family n friends.
This is one of the oldest & best cafes you'll come across in Mumbai
It's interior gives you the feel of the old heritage with wooden cupboards to keep biscuits, cakes, etc.
It's best for the #MuttonPuff famously known as #Patice
There's also a saying - If you've been to Byculla but haven't tried this you haven't tried anything
People of various class visit this place on a daily basis for the patice & snacks with tea/coffee
Though all these three things are exceptionally good I think there should be some innovation in the menu as these things are constant since more than 15years.
This place is definitely great but addition in the menu & a little bit change in the inside like installing an AC or more fans & changing the color will help this place grow
One of the two Irani restaurants with bakery products in Byculla East just outside the railway station. It is a nice place to get kheema pav or an egg masala omelette or some bun maska and chai. They also have a lot of bakery products like mava cakes, mava samosas, khari and butter biscuits, chicken and mutton puffs, cream scones and pastries. They stock Pallonji"s aerated drinks like ice cream soda, ginger and raspberry which are very popular among the Parsi regulars. They also stock a locally made vegetable and pumpkin ketchup which goes well with chips or puffs.
This is a wonderful vintage Irani place, right outside Byculla station, on the east side. Service was quick and the waiters helped us choose the dishes.
Tried kheema pav, burji, mawa cake and tea. Burji and kheema were prepared in typical Irani style. Flavours were balanced, not too spicy or oily. Mawa cake was not too sweet.
Prices seemed to be on the lower side. The restaurant is hygenic, tables were cleaned just as one finished.
They have a counter selling bakery products and few other items. Please note that this place accepts only cash payment, no UPI.
When you go to Byculla do visit this iconic bakery. Famous for Iranian/Parsi breakfast.
In old times, when you visited this place they used to serve you with a pallet full of cakes. We were to eat what we wanted and then accordingly they would charge us.
Now, you have to order what ever you like. The cake is my and all my friends favourite! It’s lovely to have!
And please do not miss on the kheema pav, it’s amazing 🤩

I have not visited nor eaten at ‘Regal Stores Restaurant & Bakery’, but i m sure the ‘Omelette’ and the ‘Keema’ must be special and delicious.
Shooting ‘Palace Cinema’ from the flyover was in my wish list so when got a chance i grabbed it and shot ‘Regal Restaurant’ as well.
one of the oldest restaurants of mumbai. must have been doing justice to the name in the old times. Regal. the hotel serves tasty meals at reaaosnable rates. though the old charm is a bit lost. I have seen the deterioration in service over last twenty five years. but the quality and taste of food is intact. the bhurji, omelettes , khari and tea tastes the same. must try if you are around jijamata udyan or the mumbai zoo and are not in for a lavish lunch at persian darbar. if you have time only for tea and snacks, this is the place. have to try the Khari.
Regal is one of the best places to eat you'll find near Byculla station. This is one of the iconic irani cafes that you'll find all across South bombay. This restaurant is famous for it's kheema pav and burji. After you enter this place whole interior and dinning settings surely will take you back into a different era.
Regal restaurant retains the old world charm of bygone era, the restaurant and bakery is located right next to byculla station, ambience is ok nothing fancy, people claim that the restaurant serves best mutton Pattice, we loved the bun masks and chai served, mostly all the bakery items are good and taken away
Regal Bakery is located right outside Byculla Station and has a typical Irani old school vibe to the place, I haven’t tried much off their menu but always stop by to grab a few baked goods which are very reasonably priced , such as the cheesecake (which is basically a hot cross cake) and pattices
If you like the feel of an old school place with quick service it's your place. But CASH ONLY.
Food isn't that great TBH, but the atmosphere makes up for it.
It's like a discount Kayani's.
Easy to locate as it is a huge building in itself just outside the Byculla East railway station.
It is synonymous to the Irani cafes of the bygone era serving creamy chai and pastries.
Must try items are the chicken pattice, pastries, bun maska and chai. The chicken Pattice has a sausage stuffed inside and crispy flake pastry on the outside. Goes well with the indigenous Hawaai sauce, a sweet pumpkin based sauce.
This old timey bakery reminds us of the old Bombay when life was different .It was sad to see that most of the tables were empty when i visited but for the cost effectiveness and quality of food it should have been bustling .I would highly recommend this place as the food was just delicious and i only stopped as I couldn't eat a bite more...it is also a stone's throw away from Jijamata udyan and a great place for a snack or breakfast.
Absolutely Wonderful experience to seat and eat here. No doubt about the food it's too good. Clean hygienic. Owners to servers so polite and how to be with customers. I Would love to visit here more often now. Whenever if i get chance to visit Byculla.
Iconic heritage Parsi bakery in Byculla. One of the few left in Bombay.
One of the oldest bakery in byculla Mumbai which serves authentic Bakery Items. Their special delicacies are Mava Samosa Khari, Mava Cake and Kheema..
If you want to experience old Irani cafes then this is right place to go.
