Martand Special Misal refers to the thali which they serve. The Thali includes the following: Misal, 2 Pav, Onions, Boondi, Lemon, Matki, Curd & 2 pieces of Gulabjamun. It is the most anybody can give you in the price they charge and it has absolute value for money. Misal here is absolutely delicious, spicy and one of the best I have had. I can definitely compare the Misal here to the ones I have had in Nasik. The portion size is good of each ingredient and you can create your own misal or dahi misal. The only improvement I would want is that they can change sweets each day instead of keeping only Gulabjamun. They also have the same thali in the cheese version at Rs. 20 extra.
I was absolutely impressed by such level of cooking. This place is absolutely worth a visit!
Misal is love, and if that is from martand it is the best! They serve delicious misal with all the toppings along with the dessert like gulab jamun and buttermilk depends upon the dish you choose. The ambiance is also good, but sometimes it is crowded so you have to wait. Overall a real good try!

It's a very healthy curry which is made from a variety of sprouts, potatoes and peas. It includes a lot of nutritional value and is extremely popular in entire Maharashtra..!!! After hearing alot about 'Martand's Misal' located in Lalbaug, we headed there and tried their Special Cheese Misal thal.
It was quite filling and special thal which included the cheese misal, pav, extra rassa( Misal gravy), onion-lemons, fried salty bundi, sweet curd, chass/buttermilk and 2pieces of mouth watering Gulab Jamun..♥ The rassa was extremely spicy but damn tasty, the misal topped with cheese was the thing you surely gonna love the most, the bundi will add the crunchy flavour to this dish and accompanied with some sweet curd, buttermilk and gulab jamun, this plate of deliciousness is surely surely a must try one and if u are a Maharshtrain food lover phr toh jana banta hi hai yaar..

This quaint little place is situated in the heart of Bombay, in Lalbaug. You will find a variety of authentic मिसळs over here.
My personal favorite is the Special Misal Thali which is priced at 99/- INR only 🤩 which consists of hell lot of things including a glass of chilled chhaas.
Also there might be waiting sometimes because the place is small.
The service is pretty decent and fast.
Definitely worth a visit and value for money.❤

I visit this place often... both its special misal & cheese misal are best & mouth watering... also the accompaniments are also good with misal pav like dahi, moong sprouts, chopped onion, lemon, boondi, buttermilk & a dessert too... gulab jamun... a perfect balanced thali i must say... also they ask if you want spicy or non spicy misal... spicy is super spicy... soo think before to place order i would sugget regular spice misal is good...

The best place for your misal craving is martand misal. A very small place that can accommodate very few people. The place was hygienic. I ordered a martand special misal, which included 2 pieces of pav, misal, matki , 2 pieces of gulab jamun, curd, buttermilk. Pav was very soft and fresh. Misal had perfect blend of all the spices. Buttermilk was very tasty and gulab jamun was over sweeten.
Debate : whether it's good idea to have single item on Menu card ?Well, there may be difference of opinion amongst experts but Martand Misal answered this question for itself. It offers Misal and Misal only. But that's not only thing you can find here. It brings Puneri Patya (Bill Boards) along withakist it. Interior comprising of Puneri Patya points to its origin- Of course Pune it is. Menu card - Short and Sweet has not many but three vairents of Misal.

I tried the Martand special which was served in a thali style. It included the farsan, rasa, sprouts, curd, gulab jamun, buttermilk (was served later) and bread. The pictures on the wall showed that chopped onion is also part of the thali but I guess it wasn't included because of the high price of onions these days. Such a shame as onions add that extra flavour.
Contrary to what I expected the misal wasn't very spicy but enought to get your nose to leak 😜.
The portion is good enough for 1 person. Everything on the thali tasty good and was totally worth it. One of the better misals I've tasted.
Do try the misal here if you ever get the chance.

I personally love misal a lot and I had went thro places searching for good misal and this is the best place I've seen so far. Martand misal gives you the tase of real Maharashtrian misal which is traditionally a bit spicy with varistor sproutes in it. They have a good ambiance with a bit of knowledge about Maharashtra's history painted on their wall with some funny quotes as well.
I order Martand special cheese misal which is just a misal thali which has gulabjamun, curd and various misal add ons, They also serve chass with this thali which is really pleasing. They thali consists of various items which taste really good with misal. The place is literally conjusted bt if you avoid busy hours then it's not a problem.

Martand Misal : If you're wishing to have some traditional type food then you must visit this place! The occupancy of this place is quiet small.. and yes at pick hours it became a crowdy place.
They have a great ambience, each table is named with a some famous places in Pune. We were sitting in Shivaji Nagar 😅!
Talking about Misal, it's bit spicy but one of the best misal I've ever had. They decorate the plate in traditional way they provide curry in small bucket with a bowl of curd , sprouts, fried chana dal and the best part is Gulab jamun ❣️!

They are really well known in their area and they also have another restaurant at thane. They are well known for their martand special missal which consists of farsan, usal, 2 pavs, Chaas, Dahi, moong, bundi, and 2 gulabjamuns. The restaurant is completely packed most parts of the day. The interiors of the restaurant are good as well. I would recommend all the misal lovers to try this restaurant.

We all were total 20 members there in Martand misal, we had so much fun and the food was mind blowing, some of my friend couldn't even finish thier dish cause quantity is also very good as we paid the money, the owner is very friendly and staff is very quick and easy to provide you anything you need for you, most of them are maharashtrian including owner, about sitting arrangement '6 persons can sit on 1 table (3 on one front side and 3 on the other front side) face to face' and I ordered cheese misal paav which was totally worth for me it was for Rs.160 with 2 more paav which I ordered later.but it was was fun.

I must tell you all that this place for non veg lover is Heaven. They serve authentic veg and non veg thali ( Chicken, Fish, etc). Unique part is they serve Indrayani rice in thali❤️. Staff and owner over there is super cool and nice. Talking about ambience it is very calm and beautiful. Must visit this place with your friend and family 🫶🏻

They give whole thali (including dahi, taak, gulab jamun)
Everything was perfect. Rate was also ok for a thali (RS 159)

I had personally visited also and this time on occasion of Navratri festival we have ordered 70 plates in our office and each one of our office team loved the martand misal which was delivered and gave compliment to me too as I have given an idea to order from . The main part was there was no change in taste even if we have ordered in bulk 👍.Even they have parcel so perfectly so that we can have it in office and was easy to distribute among us. Absolutely delicious Puneri misal! I totally loved this place. Extremely affordable rates and amazingly quick service. If you're in Mumbai and you want to try the authentic taste of Maharashtra's famous Puneri misal, you should definitely visit this place. No doubt there's always so much rush here. Go for it, I'll totally recommend this place!

The most delicious mutton, I have ever had in Mumbai. There are a very few places where you get good quality mutton. I had ordered the Martand special mutton thali and the taste was amazing. The kala mutton was the best , the kharda mutton was also good , the malvani mutton was okay , but the quantity of mutton you get in this price is overwhelming. I had ordered also ordered Surmai fry and the size was big and the it was delicious. The service of the staff was also good.
Short and spicy menu. Misal Special for anybody who wishes to try Misal. I believe this an authentic taste over other Mumbai styled Misal.
On my next visit, will try the Cheese Special Misal and maybe the Chai.
