A small restaurant located at Court Naka in Thane West and ny personal favourite for home like food.
Whenever I want to satisfy my palate with maharashtrian style food I visit Janaki.
They serve marvellous Fish, be it any type of fish. Mutton always is tender and toothsome. Never miss the Solkadhi here.
They also serve Khapara Bhakari, which is usual bhakari made on a different kind of vessel and is awesome.
Overall anyone around Thane talaopali and looking for great food which is extremely pocket friendly, Janaki is the place you should be at !!!
I totally love this place fod their non veg food.
Be it meat, chicken or sea food they never disappoint me.
Their bhakari and solkadhi is also made to perfection.
Their service is quick and the food is also served at a great pace.
Do not miss their Surmai Fry !!!!
The restaurant has completed 50 years . Itself speaks , true authentic taste in budget . I ordered chick fry and baigan masala . The best food quality.

Talk of very old legacies and this hotel would probably be the oldest in the City.
Hotel Janaki and Hotel Samadhan are owned by the Ghule family and located in the same building block.
Established in the 1920's the hotel has shifted to the current location across the street 50 years ago.
Hotel Janaki (non a/c) is pure veg part of the duo. The interiors of this place has an old world charm and gives the feel of a bygone era.
Early morning breakfast items like Kande Pohe, Spicy Sheera, usual South Indian items are all good here. Misal pav, and Bhajjias can also be tried.
For the mains try the spicy Veg Kolhapuri, Paneer tikka masala and Dal Tadka.
Some of the beverages are very refreshing like the traditional Piyush, Kokam sherbet, Avlaa (gooseberry)sherbet and tea.
Service is good and ambiance can get a bit stifling in summer due to non a/c.
Both hotels are usually closed during government holidays as most of the clientele are from nearby Thane Civil court and Collectors Office.
Do visit to enjoy some simple no fuss VFM food and experience an old cafe feel.
This is the place to be if you are near Khopat Naupada area for a quick lunch or a snack. Total value for Money is their Veg thali! It's a corner hotel. Giving the feel of old irani hotels!!
My first experience at Hotel Janki. Was drawn towards the simplicity of this place. They have both veg and non veg. But I got drawn for the famous Vada pav. It was freshly prepared and enjoyed the snack. Famous with the locals here looks like as it is packed as I write this review. Will surely be back to try some Moong bhaji, pitla bhakri, masala bhat and more
If you are a True foodie and want to try real authentic maharashtrian snacks and near by thane station . This hotel started in 1960 is the best place.
Have a seat and order freshly prepared snacks specially batata vada,Misal ,and all.You will have satisfaction after eating here.

Amazing place if you are authentic thali luver... traditional taste which you anticipate at home.. I had mutton thali and it was amazingly yummy.. I wish I could have tasted fish as well.. but I got full after mutton thali.. surely will come back to taste fish variety again.. must go place .. situated in heart of thane city... drinking water served in copper utensils gives immense pleasure of having matka cooled water..
