It's a tiny store, easy to miss but has been the best find for me..

Must try - carrot n walnut cake, I love the richness of this cake, it was so good that I went through the full loaf in a day..

Garlic multi grain bread- it's amazing, pairs very well with pesto.. it has the right amount of garlic, so that u don't feel the after taste. Well seasoned ..

Ragi crackers are crisp and stay fresh for long..

Vanilla pound cake - not my favorite here, but atleast it's not dry

It's an amazing.find, must visit place..

I have ordered whole wheat lavash and ragi crackers (these specially after seeing the reviews) , however lavash is perfect just that if flax seeds can b added it would be great..Ragi Crackers were a disappointment for me,I didn't find them enough thin and crunchy.. something seemed missing.. overall it was a decent experience!! (Four stars are only for lavash)

This bakery in Bandra is a great place to buy authentic European breads. Their Fourgrain sourdough is a must try. Also, like their baked ragi crackers, and bagels and cheese combos

The Baker's Dozen needs to improve upon their chocolate croissant, or pain au chocolat. I do recommend trying it. If you get a good one, nothing can match the combination of chocolate, bread and butter. I know when we make crossaints we brush on eggwash before baking to give it colour and crisp. Here, the chef needs to be more careful. When eating the sides, I tasted raw egg, and the texture was almost like eating an eggshell. Not pleasant at all.

My favourite bakery!! I just love the ragi bread, multigrain bread, burger buns, the orange and dark chocolate cake, the butters. my most favourite however is the fig and orange jam - it's just divine. The best part is that they sell half loaves too! Just ideal for minimum wastage. Way to go Baker's dozen....you have raised the bar for many!!

Quality breads. I like that they have a small stock since you know the bread hasn’t been sitting around, they sell out quite fast! I tried a spreadable cheese once and you could taste the good quality of the ingredients in this as well.

A relatively new joint off Pali Hill right next to 145 in Bandra. These guys sell alot of baked items and I really don't know what their secret is but they have the softest most fresh cakes that I have ever tried.
I tried the Banana Bread, Coffee Bread both were brilliant.

Your breads are a great way to start the day but the delivery service, unfortunately, has been pretty bad recently. On one occasion, my order was cancelled after being confirmed and today, it was late by more than 45 minutes, I had pre-ordered on Saturday for Sunday breakfast to be delivered between 10 and 10.15 am and it was delivered only at 11 am.  I was inaccurately sent a message that the order was delivered at around 10.30 am. It was only after repeated calls that I was told that the breads would be delivered late. The customer service also needs to be better when a customer calls to check on the status of the order which is already late. A little politeness would help!

I love my bread specially diff varieties. The best part of international travel for me is the breads is the varieties of bread I get to eat. Now luckily there r multiple options in Bombay too.
Baker’s dozen is a tiny outlet selling some amazing variety of breads. Their Multigrain and Ciabatta are to die for.
Only 2 issues are there... one is that they are too big in size and secondly sometimes they are too hard (read stale) to eat.

I received a lovely hamper from TBD and i’m thrilled that Bangalore finally has some of their products in a couple of stores like Godrej and Food Hall. My favourite was the Banana Bread, I felt it was so fresh and it had the perfect taste. Definitely one of the best Banana Breads i’ve tasted. The Brownie was superb, everyone that tried it, loved every bite of it. We enjoyed the Ragi Crackers and Lavash with some of our home made Hummus, it went pretty well and it’s also a very healthy combination so do try it out. Overall, loved it all, was just not too content with the sourdough bread felt that it could’ve been better.

The Bakers Dozen is phrase/term that originated in medieval Europe and ironically it meant giving out 13 breads on an order of 12 so it's a clever name chosen for a high-end bakery that promises to give only authentic European breads n bakery products.

Bread making is an art and TBD has managed to deliver the goods thanks to the great team behind it compromising of IIM/tech grads and a New York educated Bakery chef.

Some of the good stuff to have:

Pain Aux Cereals Sourdough: the name Sourdough refers to the bread made by fermentation of dough using naturally occurring bacteria n yeast.

As the name suggests it has a very subtle sour taste not detected in ordinary bread and can plain or with other ingredients.

This particular one is an organic multigrain variety with loads of sesame n flax seeds on its crusty outer surface and with a spongy interior.

Focaccia: this is an Italian bread made with yeast, olives or olive oil and herbs.
TBD make the softest Focaccia one can have, with generous amounts of olives but no olive oil.
It's fluffy and spongy and made with the same dough as a pizza base but with a different technique.

Absolutely love the breads here, particularly their four grain sourdough bread. The baguette is a hit or miss. Somehow, I've always ended up with a chewy one that doesn't make very good bruschetta. TBD carrot walnut cake goes perfectly with coffee or tea, just make sure you can stop at one piece though!! My favorite boulangerie in Bombay

This place has spoilt me and hooked me on to fancy artisan bread. Initially when this place opened up I wondered why people would pay such a high price for bread that was available for less than half the price at your regular bakery. But then all my notions vanished when I tried their focaccia for the first time ever. Soft, sour, filled with green olives, win win win! The focaccia is gorgeous with a unique subtle pungent flavour of olives, totally mesmerising. I cannot eat any other over this now. Other things to try are the pain au chocolate (chocolate croissant) made with Belgium chocolate. Also tried the cinnamon roll, unfortunately that wasn't very appealing. But if you have a fine eye for bread, definitely try the focaccia. Expensive but totally worth it.

Puns galore! (See photos for reference)

This is one place that makes on great promises but certainly exceeds your expectations! Walk into this tiny bakery at Pali Hill to be carried away by the comforting and homely aroma of freshly-made bread. The texture, smell and of course the taste - just exquisite! It'd make you think what a difference a well made bread can make to your meal. Slightly on the expensive side, so try it if you would enjoy really nice baked bread! Head chef Aditi Handa has done a brilliant job having mastered the art from the Culinary Institute in New York. She believes that bread in India has always been associated with the white loaf bread which is easily available but is also full of chemicals. After travelling abroad and discovering the different types of breads, crusts and crumb texture she decided to bring it to Mumbai.

We now know that there is such a thing as artisan bread. Real bread, hand crafted, rustic, bursting with flavour and goodness, made with strong wheat flour, often in combination with whole grains and flavour variations. And once you have eaten artisan bread in all its honesty, you are probably going to feel miserable about commercially available breads.

This Boulangerie and Patisserie shop appears like a small Parisian urban house with a black roof and white fence around it. The black and white interior with a couple of chairs and a small table at the corner is tastefully done. The place houses cakes & cookies, varied kinds of bread and a coffee machine. The coffee served is made from their in-house manufactured coffee powder, which is not for sale, but only for consumption.

As the place is relatively new, they are bringing limited quantities of food products as they do not carry forward the products the next day. (Baked today, Sold today!) So most of the products like dips and cake slices goes out of stock by evening. They also do home delivery. Must visit!

I ordered two cinnamon rolls via zomato order and they lacked flavour! But, when I shared my experience, the marketing team at TBD got in touch with me. They offered to refund the amount paid for the rolls which I refused. But, they insisted on sending me a hamper and apologised for the unsatisfactory experience. Surprisingly, I liked the stuff! They sent me a mango mousse, a Madeleine, a chocolate tart and a pack of Ragi crackers. I'm not really a fan of mousse but I liked the mango mousse! My husband and my dogs finished the entire pack of crackers within minutes and I didn't get a single piece of it so I guess it was really good as my husband is very fussy :P. Lastly, the bitterness of the chocolate tart and mild sweetness of the Madeleine is what I fell in love with! Overall, the kind gesture by the marketing team at TBD is what changed my experience! But, you guys really need to work on those cinnamon rolls!

Came here to grab my breakfast to-go before work, at 8.30 am. Unfortunately the shop had boxes in disarray and they were still stocking up for the day. My options were only limited to pastries which had been left on the shelf overnight. The pain au chocolat was hard =( and they do not serve coffee even though the menus here say they do.

One good thing was the prompt service and the variety of breads does look good. I will probably give this another try sometime later in the morning, but do amend your opening hours if you're not ready to serve by 8am!

This is a underdog if may may say wen you compare it to theobroma .....who has a much larger variety but still this place has the most amazing selection of breads on offer.....i have tried regular whole wheat bread the French loaf burger bun and focaccia all of them compliment well with the dish we pair them with at home .....they even make chocolate Penut butter which is really nice and the crunch adds a new dimension !

The brownie I tried today was decent but Theobroma does a better job !

They have a branch at prabhadevi too.....
Try them out fr breads if u haven't already !!

We were at The Baker's Dozen as a part of the Christmas dessert crawl and to say the least I was disappointed. The Brownie didn't have any additional ingredients such as nuts or any other, nor was it served with any accompaniment. With something as simple as a chocolate brownie, I would love to have small surprises packed in which make it special. And I prefer my brownie a bit warmed up with a slight gooey center.

Being such a renowned bakery I am sure the brownies will get better and I would love to drop by again sometime soon :)

It took me a little while to discover this shop, but I'm thankful that I finally did as I now have a place I can visit to pick up all number of delicious items. My only problem is that sometimes they sell out before I have my act together and visit. I know they deliver so maybe I should try that in future.  They do have a few other locations dotted around Mumbai but this was out first find, and kind of my favorite to date.

I try not to buy the banana loaf too often as my husband and I can work through the entire loaf in one sitting, its that good, especially accompanied with a cup of tea. I tried the PAV coriander baps yesterday and enjoyed the taste although my eyes were telling me that they should be hot cross buns for some reason! I buy the Ragi Loaf for our morning toast, its only a small bag but I pop it in the freezer so I have bread on hand every day.

The store has a small fridge with a few additional products like ready made sandwich and cakes. There are crackers, dips and jams also on offer. Worth a visit for sure.

Bread in Mumbai is a sad affair. Apart from puffy tasteless rolls for pav, the options are limited and the demand is scarce. People seem quite happy with pathetic triangles of Indian wonder bread but I personally miss the variety and quality of European style artistically made bread available in the West. Consequently my carb intake has decreased here, but I don't think that's a good thing. The Baker's Dozen, however, is a decent beginning in what I can only hope is an Indian baking revolution.

Having tried the fougasse, the baguette, the ciabatta and the German seeded multigrain, nothing but the baguette truly disappointed. The baguette looked right, but its texture was all wrong, cakey and dense where it should have been rife with air pockets and crusty delight. But the ciabatta was a light and airy roll of excellence, prompting a reaction close to mama mia as I had it with eggs one morning, and the fougasse wasn't half bad either. Perhaps not quite a taste of Provence, but at least it wasn't straight up Pali Hill either. The seeded German bread was a good weekday standard, although I'm not sure why German bread has its own category, its not exactly Europe's bread capital....

I haven't tried the sweet bread because I believe them to be an abomination, but I hear good things from people who like that sort of nonsense. On the days that I can't manage the bake my own, The Baker's Dozen is a good place for decent but inoffensive substitutes. Still, I wouldn't mind more options from competitors....

TBD is a paradise for bread lovers! Fresh, crusty, cripsy, and so much flavour in every kind, their bakes are too good. My favourite are the whole wheat, multi grain, focaccia ragi crackers and banana bread. The Strawberry butter is a must for breakfast. They have excellent and healthy options to choose from where one would be spoilt for choice. I also particularly enjoy their two berry preserve and orange whisky marmalade. My first visit to a TBD outlet was only a couple of months back when i tried a cappuccino and a cinnamon roll, and how i fell in love with the store, from its variety, packaging, freshness in its breads and excellent service! If you decide to pack goodies from TBD for someone, it would probably be about 300 bucks for one! TBD is a must visit, highly recommended, one of the best in the city for breads.

If you like chewy, crusty, hearty and freshly baked bread, Bakers Dozen is your "Go To" bakery. My favorites are the Pain aux cereales, fourgrain, ciabatta, focaccia and banana walnut wedge. Their pain au chocolat is sinfully delicious. Also if you're a fan of crackers, you will love their ragi crackers. The Bakers dozen is truly excellent for breads. So far we've tried their Herbed baguette, Brioche, Masala sour dough pav and their usual whole wheat and Ragi sliced bread. Their olive focaccia is a staple in our home. So these guys really know their bread. I'm hoping they will start a gluten free bread soon.

Although it's a small place with not much place to sit, I do go as often as I am in Pali Naka.
If you ever go, do read the story of the loaf which is so beautifully written. Artisan breads and their making are a thing of beauty.

I had a slight issue with The Baker’s Dozen when I got a home delivery the first time. The breads started getting spoilt, a day later. I had not kept them in an air tight jar or anything. Later did I find out that these are completely chemical and preservative free. Hence the ‘artisan’. Ever since, I stick to The Baker’s Dozen loyally. They have earned it. Special mentions would be the baguette, which I love and the cinnamon buns. I also love their banana walnut bread, which is just the perfect amount of sweetness we all need. If you want to try something new, i recommend banana walnut bread, focaccia with their garlic dip, and maybe pain au chocolat(chocolate croissant).

Getting to the sandwiches, yum and filling.
Tried their bombay sandwich and the pesto and mozzarella one! Baked to perfection with good amount of veggies.

A must try are their ragi crackers. A perfect healthy option which could be had with any sort of dips.

They really take care of the hygiene and offer an array of healthy options; which would be one of the many reasons I would go for the brand.

I always wished to get quality breads to eat everyday after coming back from my trips to these countries with really good bread. The Baker’s Dozen is a hidden gem. The quality of their breads clearly match my standards and I don’t miss the breads from my trips anymore. The cherry on the cake is that they are all preservative free. What more can a health freak ask for! I would suggest croissant (so yum), Pain Au Levain with Walnuts and Raisins, Four Grain (my daily bread), Focaccia and the all time favourite-multigrain loaf. Should definitely try this place!

The Baker’s Dozen has not been a very highly marketed brand. I don’t blame them. For the quality they deliver, I believe it speaks for the brand itself. I took home a Ciabatta and a Ragi loaf the first time. The paninis I made using ciabatta have been one of the best I’ve ever made. Totally love the texture and the crisp. Not too much, not too less. I prefer healthy eats, and Ragi loaf has been added to my daily fixes. It is absolutely healthy and has a high nutritional value. Love it!

Tried the place 3 months back for the banana walnut bread and it was not good ( maybe I had a bad batch) but I decided to give the place another go and ordered Focaccia and the multigrain bread and it was nothing short of great. I have never enjoyed bread so much. The focaccia was fresh and tasted like it was made complete with grandma's love ( if u had a psycho granny - sorry and move on....), the olives made it even more yummy. The prices were, I believe higher than the pictures but I was sold. Only issue I faced was the freshness was 50% off  the next day so if u have lots of hungry mouths then u could seal the deal in a meal. I do not have pictures but the packaging, looks and service was for me top notch. Now I would like to try the other varieties of pain before the prices go up.

The Baker’s Dozen is nicely seated at a convenient location in Bandra which implies you will not have to work very hard to get your daily bread. One of the first things I tried there was the very scrumptious banana bread. When it comes to food I really am a purist, and the croissants at the Baker’s Dozen give me just what I expect from this French delight! The ragi crackers that I took home for my friends qualify as one of those rare healthy yet tasty snacks. A must visit place for all sourdough lovers. Excellent European style bread! I am a Canadian living in Bombay and it is hard to find European style, handcrafted bread in the city. I found TBD website and decided to order two types of bread - Four Grain (Sourdough) & Pain Complet Multigrain (Multigrain Sliced) - Full Loaf 13 Slices. I placed the order online at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and by 5:30pm that same day, the bread was delivered to my doorstep. I just tried a slice of the Four Grain (Sourdough) and it is of the highest quality, loaded with tons of seeds, with a nice and chewy, European-quality texture. So grateful to have found this slice of heaven in the city! Highly recommended! <3
