Since this is a delivery review , Iβll be reviewing just the food and packaging . Starting with the food , i had ordered for a mini thali that included dal , rice , 2 vegetables , gulab jamun , salad and a snack .The taste of the food was really good , prepared in authentic gujrati style . They had certainly kept in mind the quality of the food . The quantity was a little less but thatβs justified by its cheap price . Over all the mini thali is enough for one person only . Getting to the packaging , it was really packed well ik a plastic plate cum container that seemed to be customized . To summarize it , it was a good experience and surely great to suffice one person .
Order food for my parents and it's amazing just like home made food if u like gujarati food then u can surely try...if u never had gujarati food then u must try this thali u will enjoy it...for sure

The moment you entry the place you will feel you made a good choice for place
After sitting they will start serving you immediately. 2 3 starters, varieties of sabzi, 3 4 varities of dal, puri roti, Achar, chat, papad, 2 sweet dish, chaas, rice or khichdi. The food is unlimited ,so great place for people with high diet.
The only thing was missing is spiciness for me but since it was a Gujarati thali it was yummy.

Ordered paneer thali since last week. Good experience about taste and quality. The dal is sweet hence as a Maharashtrian would suggest you to make it little spicy.
Also sometimes kadhi, khichdi could be offered alongwith variety in vegetables.

I specially skipped breakfast to have this amazing thali..
Those of you who don't know what undhiyu is , it's a traditional Gujarati dish which basically has all kinds of vegetables in it which are only available in the winter season π.
And trust me it's the best time of all π
I really enjoyed the paneer Tikka masala .
It was a perfect blend of spices.
They literally gave us a bowl full of Churi papad(papad crushed with masala ,chana and peanut) ..it was so good that I must have eaten half of it π€ͺ
And the dessert ππ the kesar jalebi was fab .
The Angur rabdi actually tasted like basundi π€ so I was confused what was it actually.
But it was good π€ͺ
Overall it was a win win π

Had visited this place for Lunch with Family. We enjoyed the food here...being a week day their wasn't rush at this place in the afternoon. I personally loved the Anjeer Puran Poli.. it was tiny one. Also the family members relished the same. The Dahi Was served were also fresh the curd wasn't sour. It was very yummy. We cherish Dahi Wada twice π. We definitely want to go this place again and again for Gujarati Food. This place is on my top list u visits with Family now for any occasion we want to plan a get together..
It is amazing place, rhe Gujarati food lover will like it , gujarati thali, gujarati farsan and gujarati dal was delicious, punjabi was also good and decor is also amazing.

Been there on a sunday afternoon, thats the day to avoid as it gets really crowded or try and reach there early.Β On the food front it is quite reasonably priced for all you can eat unlimited thali. The food is good and nice variety. Service is decent. Staff is good. Overall ambience is good.
The proper indian food restaurant, here they serve the best they can, really loved the place, food and ambience, the people serving food were dressed in marwadi costumes, restaurant only serves thali, with varieties and its unlimited the food is tasty and the staff is really nice, would definitely recommend !
Good location, good ambiance, great vegetarian Gujarati/Rajasthani food. Little costly but worth. Good mukhvas/ pan is missing though.
We had been to Kansar for our New Year's Lunch...and it was a great experience overall!
The day before visiting the place,we called the restaurant to ask their detailed menu for the next day and the receptionist took efforts to find the precise menu and narrated it to us with the timings and the price!
The ambience is great...the music also added to the traditional vibe. The food was amazing...moong dal halwa and kesar pista basundi were heavenly π The samosas were just right and the sabzis were good as well. The only thing that bothered me was serving masala rice (looked similar to a pulav) instead of plain steamed rice with the dal.
Apart from that, even their takeaway menu is well-made...informative and to the point!

We had tried Kansar in Surat a few months ago and when we heard that they have opened in Borivali we had to try them out. Thali is the best meal for all I feel cos it just covers all types of food and has a better nutritional value compared to any meal. The thali here can be termed as a perfect mix of Gujarati, Rajasthani and a little touch of North Indian. It canβt be termed as an out & out one regional meal. It has a mix of all flavours.
We tried a lot of food this way. There was paneer butter masala, aloo sabzi, a green sabzi & kathol in the curries. All of them were fine but had a similar taste somehow. But definitely good. In sweets there were 2 varieties, kheer and a dates & anjeer mithai. Both were excellent. In farsan there was dhokla, cutlets and muthiya. All were fine. And of course there was a choice in sweet dal & kadhi or spicy dal. Indian breads like Puri, roti and bahra ka rotla with ghee and jaggery were amazing. In the end there was the option of rice and khichdi. No thali ends without a glass of cool chaas and I loved the chaas here a lot.
The food was delicious. Iβm not declaring this to be the best thali ever but itβs one of the decent ones. A little fine tuning required in some of the dishes and it could work wonders. The service is flawless and extremely prompt. They also have the option of take aways or parcels so that one could eat the same delicious meal if there is a need to call for it.

Food was tasty, the quantity of thali is enough for 2 people. I liked the paneer subji and fulka rotis. Although it is a gujrati thali the dal is not that sweet. The rice quality was nice and tasted good. After applying a zomato discount the thali costed us Rs 111. Overall it was a good thali and can be ordered again.
Ordered a PANEER THALI at my workplace. It costs almost 150rs. It had 4 small fulkas, paneer gravy, one dry vegetable(tendali), 2 kinds of farsan(potato cutlet, khandvi) dal rice and sweet( gulab jamun).
Phulkas was nice and soft.
Paneer gravy was good with soft tender paneer
Dry veg was ok ok
The cutlet was good. But khandvi didn't have any taste or salt also.
Rice was nice and long. Well cooked..
Dal.. being a gujrati thali ,I expected it to be sweet. So a bit disappointed.
Gulab jamun was a bit hard..

Overall really nice food and experience.
Dining at Kansar is a whole another experience. The ambience is authentic, the staff is dressed perfectly and the food is awesome. The thali was priced at 420Rs per person which is a tad expensive but then the overall experience makes up for it I feel.
One tiny suggestion would be to eliminate the hand washing with the jug process and just replace it with normal water bowls. (although I guess the former is more authentic but still felt that it was unnecessary. Normal washing bowls would be just fine.)

Kansar is the pure veg restaurant in borivali... It is located in Chikuwadi it is very good specious and has good crowd in weekend... They have 4 varieties of vegetables 2 farsan rice dal kadi chass and fulka roti... For thali they charge 420rs per person... But seriously its very good in taste to go out with gujrati family ... I would really suggest this outlet to try onces for thali in borivali foodies...

After a long time writing review. There is confusion as it appears that there is Gujrati thali , there is Punjabi thali and there is Marwari thali. In fact there is just one Thali which is mix of these three blends. So taste was really good and so the service. I have observed that in any restaurant serving Thali only has same kind of effective service. Ambience is also good. Itβs located off Link Road but easily accessible . Overall full marks for taste , service and ambience

Had ordered veg thali from here today. The quantity was sufficient enough for one person. Paneer sabji could have been better. Alu sabji was good. The sweet served was yummy and crunchy. Would love to visit to eat in the restaurant.
Thalis are a hit and kansaar provides you a heavy happy meal at just 399.
The ambience will transport you to gujarat and you will be happy after a visit here.

I was excited to explore this place. It was Sunday afternoon. I waited for 20 mins as promised. Table was right set with hand sanitizer, chuney, achar and papad churi and also biseleri bottle included in thali price- 420 Rs only. Talking about food : 4 subzi, chapati, puri, aam rass, anjeer mithai, My fav dahi vada, chinese samosa , Dhokla, dal and kadhi, chaas and rice. Damn it was a huge feast. Totally worth it. I could pay more for such lip smacking food. Cold served Aam ras not too sweet and puri. Food was perfect with spices. Compared maharaja bhog its quite affordable. And kept the benchmark of surat well known kansar thali. The servers and manager were repeatedly checking for food on our plate and making sure we dont have to call for food. It was a warm experience. I am glad i was there for my sunday cheat meal π
An authentic Gujarati thali experience. We popped in after a trek through Sanjay Gandhi National Park and absolutely loved it. The flavours were incredible, and the food is unlimited. Good to go after a trek when you can do justice to the food.
Good is average. They need to add more vegetables in there thali as it's veg thali specifically dry sabji atleast 1 like proper vegetable. Gujarati dal is very salty still taste is good but it's very thick
Kansar is one of the best place for thalis. It serves authentic Gujarati thali which is too delicious. The ambience is royal with desi style interiors. Staff are also in traditional attire which gives the place more cultural vibe.
The thali is really grand with numerous varieties and one can't decide what to eat and what not. All the items are prepared in its special manner which gives unique taste. We get to feel the taste of gujarat in every bite.

It is a good place for having family meal. Service initially was slow but later they improved it. Food is good and less spicy. They have lot varieties in food. Parking available but if you come during peak time, then you may have challenge parking. It would have been better if they had valet facility. The place outside dining area is big and awesome for pre or post lunch discussion. Overall had good time with family.

The thali comprised of authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine. Since it is summer, we were served aamras, the highlight of the meal was Dal Bati, that was drizzled with Desi ghee on top. The quality of food is good. Ambiance n service is also good.

A good range of 3 course north Indian menu in Thali. I visited with my family on a Sunday. To avoid waiting visit before 12:30 pm for Lunch. The ambience is welcoming, service is quick and without any chaos. Food quality is better than many premium competition in Mumbai.

Monday Lunch time place was almost emptying barring a family of six or seven and another couple. Guess the mumbai crowd comes in, in the evening or weekend.
It is OK place for Dine in with with casual atmosphere and place both indoor and outside for eating.
Their Gujrati - Rajasthani Thali has good variety of spicy dishes which you can water down with butter milk.
Hot fluffy chapati and fluffy puri make the meal more whole some and you can top this up with plain rice or delicious khichdi with a liberal helping of desi ghee.
Bajra roti with jaggery(gurr) millet roti plus daal batti and ghee add more to the variety and taste.
Service was very prompt, and refills or extras coming very frequently. Staff is very attentive, guess because the place was almost empty when we dined.
Food was bit spicy for me, but then if you are eating out, one expects it will be having generous amount of masalas. But overall all items were delicious π.
The place also caters to parties and has special discounts for ladies kitty party lunch, with discounts. π³.
Do try out this place if Veg Thali is your liking and if you have a big appetite, because with so much variety you will need a big stomach to try out everything. It's one price for unlimited quantity.
