Great food and no fuss. That's what this place is all about. Ordered the chicken thali and surmai thali and i absolutely loved it. Basic restaurant and absolut blissful malvani cuisine. I'm so full and it's just 4. All i can think of is. A bed. Loved the place and highly recommend it to one and all. #fish #malvani #thali #zomato #rice #basics
Don't miss out on this experience.
Peaceful easy feeling and all i can think of is a bad to rest.
This is my go to place when I want quick, tasty and good priced food near to my office.
To be honest place is very basic and small, however, it’s business model is to serve working Class people who eat out lunch every day. Hence, it’s open only in the afternoon.
This is must must visit place if you want authentic malvan food at good price. Please keep your expectation of ambience restricted
What i liked about this place
😊 very fast service. Less then 5 minutes if you order veg, chicken or mutton dishes. For fish dishes, it takes little time as they prepare fresh.
😊amazing customer service. Owner is involved in serving as well.
😊amazingly well priced.
Challenges
Since it’s small place it gets full very fast. Best time to visit is 12.30 PM
When it’s full, considering my lean manpower, services may be slow.

Authentic Malvan food served in an unpretentious environment. The people are sincere about what they serve and polite to a fault.
Being a woman I felt welcome here, which is rather uncommon.
Had the Surmai thali - super yum fish curry and solkadhi is among the best I've had.
The fish fry was a little overdone but apart from that everything was on point :)
Would recommend the Prawns Masala as well.
Being a chef my work is to taste the food... I am being a mad about malvan food. I had visited the place they have a perfect malvan food like fish curry mutton curry and chicken curry I personally think it's a best place to have a food lover perfect malvan food with perfect spice.. I must say you all should vist this place is love it and thnks to aniket...
I walk down that street quite often without noticing the place. Today, however, the lunchtime aromas of fish coming from this restaurant, lured me in. I had simple bangda thali. Properly priced and nicely made food. The fried bangda was crisp and tender. Definitely will go there again
Non vegetarian lovers you'll will love this place, Fish Lovers you'll need to visit this place... Amazing food.. At a cost effective price as well, It should be named as Mum's malvani kitchen..
Comes across as a unassuming dingy little place. Has some of the most awesome sea food and south Indian thalis.
One must try the fish thalis. Good chicken curry too.
Going back many a times to try the entire menu
Quite tasty food. The fish was fresh, well prepared & tasty. They have 4/5 kind of fish thalis & the prices are quite economical. The place is open only for lunch .....no dinner
Mini malvan! A treat for sea food lovers. Having the fish thali here was mandatory! Ordered the Prompfet Thali which included a Prompfet fry, Rassa , Sol kadi ,Rice & Chapatis. It was filling and very much affordable. My only complaint is that the fish was small in size. Overall a good experience.
Located at the heart of chakala is this place. Good quality food, non veg i mean the most. Little expensive from the one in vicinity but the crowd and waiting time shows how good it is. Bang opposite to P&G so lots of crowd waiting for their turn to get in. The only complaint i have is for quantity served. Rice, size of fish seems to small compared to others and service timeline increases once you have started eating out there. Overall an experience of quality food to look forward to but not enough to fill your appetite you get while you start to eat.
Mini malvan is my to-go place whenever I crave for Malvan food during work days.
It’s a boon for all office goers in Chakala, Andheri East and is always crowded during lunch hours.
Whenever I am down for tea break the aroma of malvan food has my attention, As if its inviting me for lunch there….
Today I was in the mood for malvan dishes & I landed up at my fav malvan.
It is normally crowded during lunch hours after waiting for more than 15mins I got a table.
I’ve tried most of the dishes here but today I am gonna review about what lunch I just had – My Favorite – Kombdi Vade.
Kombdi (Chicken) Vade (Mixed flour puri) is a staple food of Malvan in Maharashtra. Hot & spicy chicken curry is served with vade. Vade were fresh & crispy and tasted scrumptious with flavorful Chicken curry. Apart from Kombdi vade I also like their Surmai thali & Kaleji Masala!
If you are passing by chakala ensure to try out the meals here!

A must try delicacy!
Mini Malvan is a small blink and you miss it kind of a joint bang opposite P&G Plaza at Chakala. Need less to say the place is most crowded during lunch hours for the awesome non veg thalis it serves. There are thalis for veggies as well however I have never tried out any of those as it would be a sin when you have malvani food served.
Fried fish, Fish curries and chicken sukka and chicken kaleji fry are my personal favorite at this place. I have seen some people have Misal pav as well and it looks yummy but I have not tried it yet. I have almost always consumed multiple glasses of Sol Kadi as well to finish my lunch here.
Service at Mini Malvan is lousy and the wait at the counter for paying off is a put off. Thumbs up for the food & Thumbs Down for the service.
If you looking for home cooked style malvani food then you should try out this place.
Small outlet with good tasty food.
Nice owners
Average Service
Good Food.
Outlet is strategically located in middle of corporate parks and worth a meal once a month i can say.
We tried bangda & surmai both were good.
Pricing is a bit costly compared to food.
Good tasty food . I had their Normal thali which was good . One thing which surprises me is why the coastal Konkan food do not serve green veggies .
What ever I have eaten in the malvani food so far is mostly fish curry , rice , roti , salad & solkadi . The normal dry subzi has always been missing . But may be that is the kind of food style what is followed there .
Nevertheless, The service was fast , Food was tasty & Price was reasonable . Will come back for sure
Thanks for the wonderful serving , Wishing you all the very best to move Forward ...
Excellent preparation and the best place for sea foods. Opens only for afternoon. Yes, they do not serve in evening .
They are so occupied in serving that many times you have to Wait in Q to pay ur bills . Your order arrives earlier 😄
I always wanted to try authentic Malvani cuisine at a small local restaurant. This was just perfect! I very much enjoyed the soul curry, fish curry and fried Surmai fish, along with a Thumps Up! Cleanliness was not too bad and the owner was personally very attentive. This place is bang opposite P&G corporate office.
This restaurant is opposite my office premises and our go-to lunch home.
Pros:
1.Good sea food and all non veg dishes.
2. Pocket friendly
3. Good staff & owner services
4. Hardcore Non veg place
Cons:
1. No parking space available
2. Waiting at afternoon
3. Not a place for vegetarian
4. Not a hangout place
Haven for People who like spicy food and sea food 😋
Food- 5/5
Service- 4/5
Ambience- 2.5/5
Value for money- 5/5
Nice food at reasonable pricing. It is a normal hotel but the food is tasty. Recommended.
Paradise for sea food lovers!! Absolutely delicious range of thalis. Have tried prawns thali, special chicken vada thali, bombil thali and fried pomfret. Sol kadhi is the soul of this place.
Tiny space in commercial area 1-2.30pm it's fully packed. Ditch the usual lunch time and head early otherwise you'll have to queue up!!
Must try fish thali, mutton sukka and sol Kadi. Sea food lovers must try this restruant and it is very affordable.
Good fast service. Taste and quality also.
Surmai thali expensive.
Picked up 2 packed Pomfret Thali’s containing 1 slice of fried pomfret, 3 chapattis, rice, fish curry n Solachi kadhi for 450/- the fried fish & solachi kadi were super , the fish curry was nice too as was the rice n chapatti - will order again - looked like a small place with 25 pax seating - should have ordered extra solachi kadhi
The surmai friend fish was excellent accompaniment to the thali which is their usp.Havent tried other dishes , but will surely return.
Enjoyed the food
Loved it man....if you love nonveg thn a must visit restaurant
Tried a Veg thali with bombil fry. Food is good but I wish they would reduce the quantity of oil.
The overall experience was very good , The place gets crowded at lunch time, The non veg thalis are awesome I must try solkadi there.
Food is very delicious, typically malvani cuisine. Though there is waiting time, but still acceptable with taste food. Try out mutton thali, fish thali and Bombay duck fry. Sol kadi should be ordered extra.
The food is simple, but the taste is not that outstanding
