I had ordered food via food delivery app and the delivery was on time.
The packaging was decent. I had ordered Fried papad and it was wrapped in aluminium pouch hence the crispness was preserved.
I had ordered Chicken combination fried rice which comes as chicken fried rice with manchurian gravy.
The fried rice was average to taste with small chicken pieces in it but it was very dry. The chicken manchurian gravy which was supposed to be mixed with the rice was so watery that it went right through the rice without much altering the taste of rice. There were chicken pieces in the manchurian gravy and they were good.

I absolutely have no clue about the ambience and service here as all we do is order the kheema from here! It's really good. A bit oily for some but for that once in 3 months craving for some authentic mutton kheema, this is the perfect place! So my entire rating is for the mutton kheema 😄
Being a kokankar I never found any place where they actually serve Konkan taste my favourite all time remains Bhombil fry.....😃and thalli any fish available......especially surmai and pomfret 🐟... there restaurant is also average but food they serve is awesome😄

Chicken lollipop was really good as well balanced between crisp from outside and moist and juicy inside. Must say was really good form all other Chinese restaurants. Eventually dip of schezwan sauce also i loved. Mutton Biryani was a surprise as i was eating and found many pieces of mutton in it. I just love mutton pieces in it with juicy & tendered with tasty spices of marination. Rice and mutton was perfectly cooked.
Even though i ordered one after another it won't take much time for coming to out table. Full marks for speed.

Although you will find no one sitting in the non AC section.
So dont get fooled if you dont see anyone on the ground floor which is the non AC section
You need to go to the AC section on the first floor.
The ambience was OK .
You can go with your family or friends.
There were about 10 tables out of which 5 to 6 was filled on sunday.
So you can expect that there will be no waiting at this place.
Also there were many online delivery orders that were pending....according to the waiter. so mostly people opt for online delivery
Had ordered bombil fry, chicken thali, chicken wade thali and fish curry.
The fish was fresh. Also it was crispy on the outside and well cooked.
Then ordered 2 thalis.
One was chicken thali and second was chicken wade thali
For chicken thali you get two variety of curry
One with bigger and flatter plate as in the picture.
This curry was great. It had cocunut and spices and was very well cooked
The second was containing less quantity and was a bit spicy. But you will love both the curries. I can assure you that.
You have option of bhakri and chapati.
I ordered bhakri which was good.
The wade was very well prepared.
You can get the aroma of the wade when it reaches you and you might feel of not eating it and just keep smelling it 😂
The rice with the thalis was good and well cooked

Don’t go here if u r looking for ambience n interior,must go for taste n pure malvani food, my suggestion for restaurant is to stop chinese food,chinese food having good taste but malvani food hav lots to experimental with,i would suggst them to try new types of menu invention with d basic tadka of malavani because malavani food has pure taste here,they should start malvani fish platter, rates are good ,but quantity need adding,

Being originated from Coastal side, Fish is my first love when it comes to food options. Specially the Malwani style which gives me the homely taste is my favorites. In recent times I found typical Malwani restaurants (Fish serving ones to be precise) are either way too expensive or very poor in quality and quantity. In search of good fish cuisines this one caught my eye.
"Haysar Mast Malwani" is located in borivali west on L T Road. Location is next to Manyavar, in Vazira Naka.
The Nosh :
We ordered fish thali. To my surprise the quantity is really really great. To accompany it we also ordered bombil fry. Bombil is tricky fish, not many like it. The fry bombil was absolutely tasty, it was crunchy (the way it was sliced made it crunchy) and savory. Thali had two options of fish, fry fish and fish in curry. Size of Paplet (Pomphret) was big , really big. The taste of curry was very authentic. You have options to choose your bread, they have chapati, bhakari, wade, amboli etc. I preferred Bhakari as that tastes the best with fish curry. Thali also includes bowl of rice.

I Had gone with family for Thali's on Friendship day and what a amazing experience of fish & Chiken Thali and tisrio were yummy fulling and quantity was very good too....its a Must Visit.
This is a nice little family run place which has been recently renovated as well with an AC section. The food is good but not in the same league as other Malwani joints in the area. However their pay soup is one of the best I have had. Also couple of their fish food Thaalis are great. Good for ordering in or if you're in the area.

Had food thrice from here. Proper Malwani style food can be enjoyed here. Prawns masala, bombil fry, bang da fry, chicken gravy, wade are some best ones to have. Small but good clean place. Authentic Malwani food one can have.
Just out of the hotel after a good meal . Had Tisrya Ghalu and bombil fry. Good dish. Small joint but worth visiting. Good quantity n excellent quality food. The service boys need to pick up pace. The owner Mr Nikam and Mr Sharma are very cordial and would check with everyone about food. A homely exoerience. Will definitely recommend for seafood lovers and surely visit again.

I ordered Chinese veg sezwan fried rice and a veg Manchurian gravy. The food was very good. Staff was also nice and our order came fast. We thought it is a small restaurant but they have a mazarine floor which is their ac section. Overall nice place and good value for money.definately recommend to others.

If you are looking for a simple, nice, no - frill place to eat some good malwan food, this is the place. The portions are a bit small, but every bite was simply good food.
We wanted non fried fish and the owner went extra mile to prepare tawa masala surmai for us. Chicken dry was aromatic and non spicy unlike other places. Sol kadi was fresh and very refreshing. I had two glasses.
Don't judge a book by its cover! This is so true for haysar mast malwani.
P.s: the place is unkept and there are ants on tables. Beware of the ants before you settle down!
We had ordered in from this place .. we had the some amazing chicken in the awesome maharastrian style.. loved the prawns masala in the lovely spicy semi gravy.. the bhakhri was soft and nice and yummy not to mention the vadas were super tasty.. goooood food!! Ordered mutton kheema and tisrya masala along with solkadhi. The kheema was yummy , may be oily for some people, but this is the way its made. The shell fish was awesome and my wife and mom were pleasently surprised by the quality of the food, the solkadhi was nice not as great as I have had before.
To summarise , good place to order non vegetarian food, delivered on time.
Ordered some mutton masala & prawns fry. The taste of the food was ok. Quality seemed to be a little compromised in terms of oil used. Overall ok. Speciality in Malwankar food.

Visited this place for a Sunday Lunch. The interiors are quite drab and resemble a lunch home. There is an AC section on the mezzanine floor. However, beware of the stairs leading to the AC section. Elderly folk and people with reduced mobility will find it a challenge.
Demand mineral/packaged drinking water and check the glasses before using them. We found ants floating in the glasses.
The service is quick, food is piping hot and is definitely prepared fresh! The seafood thalis are delicious and absolutely VFM. The Surmai thali had one bowl of Surmai curry, one bowl of plain fish curry, three large pieces of surmai fry, a bowl of solkadi, a small serving of jawala stir fry, option of vade, rotis or rice bhakris, bowl of rice and a sweet motichur laddoo. The preparation is just the right level of spicy for the typical Malvani taste and feels like home cooked! We ordered Bombil(Bombay Duck), Prawns and Pomfret fry separately. Bombil and Prawns fry were outstanding. Crisp and far from the usual bland batter coating. The coating had a unique taste which complimented the seafood. Prawns were pretty big in size, but, the Pomfret fry was expensive for the size of the fish.
Solkadi had a spicy aftertaste and somewhat lacking in both kokam and coconut.
The chicken thali, however, left a lot to be desired wrt the quantity. The chicken pieces were small, few and full of bones. Even the Chicken Kali Miri that we ordered separately was too less in quantity and the chunks were mostly bones.
Overall, a great place for seafood lovers. Don't expect a great ambience or a great dining experience. Just, enjoy the delectable seafood which won't lighten your wallet too much. And, despite the orthodox and simple looks of the place, they accept CC, Debit Cards, Food Cards, Food coupons and even Paytm!
There aren't really many places in Borivali for good malvani food, and when I found this one, it was more than just plain good. It was AWESOME!
Let me just get to the point for you, I ordered Chicken Handi Masala, Vadas, Veg Pulao and Dal Fry. The chicken was cooked to PERFECTION. And when I write perfection in caps, I mean it. It was soft and just glided in my mouth and the gravy was full of flavours. The vadas (basically a different kind of puri maharashtrians eat) were yummy and as per expectations. The pulao was simple filled with the perfect veggies and the dal fry was yummy too. Everything was just made with the correct flavours ! I am so happy, I just hope they keep up the good food and I'll keep going there !

Awesome food. Good service, including home delivery. Haysar Mast Malwani has evolved from the days of Poli Bhaji Kendra to Sea Ball Chinese restaurant and to what it is now. Quite fond of Chinese food served here, chicken chili being favourite followed by scezwan fried rice and chicken lollypop masala dry. 5 stars!!!!!!

We had a small get together and we ordered our meal and starters at this place for all my 32 friends, so the food was awsum but the service was slow sum of my friends ordered thali like fish, chicken, crab, pomfret so we tried most of them bec we were in a group the bangda thali was a much big portion so we had to take the rest half take away nice place to sit and enjoy in a small group up stairs.
Authentic Malwani food, we ordered thali- pomfret thali , surmai thai and bangda thali these were greater than what we expected from a small restaurent like them. Their thali contains 2 pomfret the surmai was 1 full big one which is sufficient of 2 persons and lastly the Banda thali also had 2 full bangda one fry and one in gravy. Regarding restaurant this is a small place , they have a/c section on first floor . Reasonable Rates compared to other with respect to guantity and quality. Service was good.
This restaurant is near to my place but somehow I never visited it. I went there with my wife last Saturday. Place is not that great good looking like other fancy restaurants who charge a bomb but who gives a damn about the place when you are served with excellent food. We ordered Prawns Fry and kheema masala pav. The size of prawns was huge and it was yummy and worth the money. Kheema masala was also delicious. If you are looking for good malvani type sea-food then visit this restaurant once. I bet you won't be disappointed. I am planning to go tonight as well.

restaurant is simple, small, neat, nice .. had bombil fish curry thali. was served 3 bombils, spicy curry, rice, solkadi, one big awesome halwaa like sweet, and extremely tasty dry little nano prawns to serve like a pickle .. cost was decent .. generous quantity .. the orange curry is very homely .. the colour was just the way i like it .. bright orange .. the overall experience was satisfying .. would want to go again to try some other fish ..

Mast Malwani is a decent place to get your fill of fish in Borivali area. Located just opposite Don Bosco scool, next to Manyavar showroom, this is a small two floored restaurant. The ambience is not too much to go by but the food is pretty good.
Me and a buddy had tried Prawns Rawa Fry, Bombil Fry, Surmai Thali, Bangda Thali and Mutton Sukkha. The Prawns and the Bombil was fresh and the green chutney they served along with it was quite good. The fish was prepared in authentic malwani style and the portions were generous. The Thali comes with a serving of a dry Prawns bhaji which is a must try.
The service is prompt and the food is priced appropriately.

Its difficult to locate this small restaurant. Its just next to Dakshin restaurant. Ambience is not that good. But food is good and service is OK. Try the fish thalis they are tasty. I ate prawns fry , pomfret thali and crab sukka. Their solkadhi is too good.
I'd like to differ from the previous review that was given. This restaurant specializes in malwani cuisine and hence I only recommend one tries their seafood delicacies. I've tried their pomfret, rawas, surmai fry fishes and none of them have disappointed me. But what steals the show is bombil fry and their Sol kadi. Absolute must must must try! Their thali is priced decently and the though the service is slow, it isn't bad at all. Considering this is a small restaurant, the prices may seem high but they definitely do not compromise on taste. Cost for two may come.up to 400-400 considering I had 3 glasses of Sol kadi ;)
