Surely a hidden gem with great food. Polite n helpful staff.
Za'atar is in mahalaxmi. Ambience was quite good and awesome. Food was really amazing and tasty. The staff was also polite.
Team Za’atar , you are doing a fantastic job !!! Absolutely loved the food, it’s freshness, aromas and the passion with which it was served ! I especially loved the tamarind cooler, the red pepper hummus, the fresh warm pitas and the rice bowl. The chocolate hummus came as a total surprise !! Keep growing !
The best middle eastern cuisine in India, urge u guys to try it atleast once and u will be addicted to this place
A hidden gem located next to famous studio. It serves Meditterranean food with A sharp but mild spices. It also serves protein rich meal. Outlet manager Noaman came to our rescue to decide their best dishes out of their vast spread.
We had
Kebab platter- Which had all type of tikkas & kebabs which was compelmented with mint lemonade
.
Mezzes- Common term between the breads is one of the dish I am gng back for
.
Dessert- Chocolote hummus served with honey sticks intially i was doubtful but it completed our meal at the venue

I absolutely love the food at Za’atar!! Their regular hummus/pita/shawarmas are delicious. Additionally they innovate and add new things to their menu from time to time so you get to try some new combinations and flavours to excite your palate. Highly recommend ordering from here
If u luv lebanese dnt miss dis place... Small joint but excellent food and fantastic service... We will deftnly go again
Ordered from this place twice. They serve authentic Manakeesh. Must try from their menu. Hummus and Shawarmas are decent. Overall good food. A bit on the expensive side but worth it.
Note for the reader - My review follows a Food Bloggers table Invite session. We did not pay for this meal.
A brick-in-the-wall eatery, Za’atar sets out to capture a minuscule SOBO clientele that craves for authentic houmous, pita breads & shawarmas. Ambience has basic clean lines of decor. I loved the cosy aroma lamps & artificial patio with a wooden workstation bench where Fast diners can casually stand and tuck in to warm comfort food.
We tried the following dishes. I must say their Pita breads are the real deal. Service is quick.
1. Drinks - Tamarind Cooler (5/5) was tangy, fresh & gives a real burst me up feeling. The Mint Lemonade (3/5) was Ok’..needed more lemony jizz.
2. Avocado Houmous (5/5)- light, flavoursome with olive oil drizzle. The freshness of the ripened fruit pulp with tahini chickpea paste coming brilliantly through. The tart pickled beet cuts complemented the creaminess of the mezze.
3. Chicken Shawarma (4/5)-Decently sized meat well grilled with spices. The stuffing could have more harissa sauce to moisten the tender meat & our palate buds. The potatoes can be ditched as it conflicted with the succulence of the meat.
4. Lamb Sheekh platter (3/5)- surprisingly the only miss of the dining experience, the meat was cooked a tad under and not spiced enough.
5. Muhammarrah (4/5)- not a conventional mezze dip for Indian taste buds but a nice balance to anything bland . The sweetness of the red peppers with walnuts follows well after the houmous taste.
6. Chocolate Houmous (5/5)- dish of the day. Although I’m not a choco fan, the preparation of the dish with walnut crumble & cinnamon crisps to dip in was sublime, delish .
Overall Za’atar scores with Presentation of fresh produce, authentic flavours & hearty portions at decent pricing .. Yallahooo .. . we have an Arabic winner here my dear SOBOites !!!!
Loved the lamb Manakeesh.
For the vegetarians, the mushroom and panner Manakeesh equally good.
Loved the cozy vibe of this cafe, it’s located in a commercial area. The food was amazing definitely worth more than just one visit.
Loved the chicken shawarma. The filling was absolutely delish I was trying to find a place that serves a good shawarma, happy that I finally found one near my workplace.
Will want to try more items on the menu in coming days.
Ordered from Za'atar on a week day evening through Swiggy. Delivery was quick and packing was fine.
Food wise :
1. Traditional Hummus : It blew my mind. Absolutely delicious. Amazing consistency and flavor. Came with two thin wheat pita breads 5/5
2. Muhamarrah : tried this out for the first time. Reddish paste. It was just ok for me 3/5
The only tiny drawback was that while the quantity is ok, but the cost is on the higher side. Specially if you order in. I'm sure it's well worth the money if you go to the Za'atar outlet and eat the food absolutely fresh.
I paid about 240 for the hummus. Probably one of the best places for hummus in Bombay.
Nice place for Mediterranean food. Situated in the niche area of Mumbai. It serves authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
The food is excellent to the last bite. Very reasonably charged for the quantity and location. Worth a try if you are in the area.
I had ordered a humus with chicken from here. The humus was really well made and the was a lot of shredded chicken in it. It come with 2 whole wheat Pitta bread and pickled vegetable. For a price of 300 it was really good.
Amazing place just loved the avocado hummus in love with the tamarind cooler just amazing place for hummus lovers
The rice bowl is also amazing
Reached here while looking for some other place. Really enjoyed the food. I don't remember when did I have such amazing and fresh food. The vegetarian wraps are lovely and so is the hummus.
Superb. Been here twice. Great authentic Lebanese. And good location if in Worli for a casual sit down. Exceptional, friendly service for a small, cosy place to boot. Make it here!
I'd give this place 6 stars if there was an option. I'm literally addicted to their food. And it's not just me. I believe that's a universal phenomenon because everyone that I've recommended the place to is hooked as well. Honestly don't understand why a person would break the bank at a Maffys or Rue Du Liban, which are fancy places that serve sub standard lebanese food at exorbitant prices when you can eat the best food at this joint instead! I've to say- Za'atar serves the most delectable authentic Lebanese food in town. Even my Arab friends concur. Caveat, foodies! You will fall in love with their food.
Well this Restaurant is in commercial area but after office hours you can easily dine out here with some delicious food I can say it's an ashiyana yumminess and tastiness , i was here at 9pm with easy exit to my table with menu ready I had ordered hummus mutabal , chicken / mutton mix platter , paneer manakeesh and chocolate hummus . I really enjoyed my dinner till last moment of my bytes. So if you are in mahalaxmi area this is a must visit place
There is something really satisfying finding a good creamy hummus, gone are the days when you could count Lebanese restaurants on your fingers now they are mushrooming up like anything, nothing bad in this but first at least get the basics right, so many posh restaurants I can name which serve excellent food but when you order hummus it is often not freshly prepared or too much olive oil, the texture is just not right, but zaatar doesn’t disappoint you one bit, thank god for that …
I had ordered from here long back, I found it really good even then and so had decided will definitely visit someday, finally the wait is over. The original hummus is excellent, the beiruti one is better (with salad) , they don’t have paneer shawrma but paneer harissa, not as good as shawrma but we vegetarians are devoid of that option here , cheese garlic manakeesh can be given a miss
This is an amazing and very indulgent hummus. Never had such unique hummus before. The place has a good ambience and the staff are very polite.
Quite in a corner but a good little place to have your favourite hummus! Loved the cozy vibes in it, charming interiors and comfy seating. Service is personalised and in the most friendly way.
The hummus platter-(Recommended) we had various types of hummus in it. Plain hummus, avocado hummus, moutabelle, zaatar hummus and more. All were delicious in their own way and the pita bread was extremely soft.
The chicken starter platter-(Recommended) soft chunks of chicken grilled to perfection and spiced well and soft seekhs made really well.
Mutton platter was also great.
Paneer cheese manakeesh-(Recommended) delicious cheesy paneer manakeesh soft enough to melt in your mouth. Just loved this one!
Chocolate hummus with cinnamon sticks-(Recommended) The unique twist of hummus with dark chocolate and walnuts and tasted Amazing with the crispy cinnamon sticks.
Are you craving for some Lebanese food?

A hidden gem (literally) in the bylanes of Worli/Mahalaxmi area, this place is an ideal stop if you crave Middle Eastern cuisine.

Found this hidden gem in mahalaxmi I went here for lunch with my friend found this at a narrow street returning home it's 10 to 25 minutes away from mahalaxmi station you can count on Google maps to visit here.
The outlet is quite small approximate about 19 be can be seated at a time the place is tiny but the they have done a great work on the ambience the dim light the comfy wooden seat with nice interiors and a wall painting it just a simple things but really looking eye caught and feels good also it had A/C in it with some nice music. The only problem is that there isn't and washbasins so they keep hand sanitizer on every table and since it newly opened the staff here are less so it will take some time to served overall good place.

Za'atar offers variety of delicious food which is really different and has its own delight.
In coolers you can go for mint lemonade and tamarind cooler. But I would suggest that you should go for tamarind cooler.
If you love hummus than you can go for chicken with hummus and you can try chicken kebab platter as well which has a hint of spice.
Complete it with dark chocolate hummus which will be perfect as a dessert.

5)Mint lemonade
Overall it was really good experience, trying some new good food, won't even hesitate to go there once again, Worth a Visit !!
Zaatar is a generic name for a family of related Middle Eastern herbs. What Zaatar is to Lebanon, is what Peanut Butter is to America. I was thrilled to find out from Zomato, a Lebanese & Middle Eastern Cuisine existed at Mahalaxmi. I had tried this during lunch after my client visit. Please note this place does not serve Alcohol.
The place is a relative a small sit down joint with around 4 tables and a major focus on online delivery. The interiors are decent, well lit up, however, the space between tables is compromised. Chubby people with even a small belly would find it extremely tough to fit in.
The service is good, friendly and consists of a good menu spread. We had tried the following:
▶Mint Lemonade -
Old school mint Lemonade.
Rated - 4/5
▶Tamarind Cooler -
A refreshing, punchy drink with a lot of zing. Recommended..!!
Rated - 5/5
▶Avocado Houmous -
Houmous blended with Avocado & cilantro. Nice and a must try..!!

▶Mutton Kabab -
Probably the only disappointing dish which as the Kabab was overcooked and was dry.

What stands out - The authentic Lebanese cuisine
Came here with a couple of friends after work. We had called for food from the delivery only outlet in Bandra so decided to visit them at their new outlet in Mahalaxmi. The place is small but with decent bit of seating. It has Arabic theme interiors.
The service is excellent. The owners were around to guide us what to call for and we were glad they did. Manakeesh was especially amazing. Tamarind cooler is something you would either love or hate. Hummus and falafel are of course their best dishes and definitely worth calling for. Chocolate hummus was by far the best dish of the night.
We called for the following dishes
1. Hummus - 10/10
2. Cheese chilli manakeesh - 10/10
3. Falafel roll - 9/10
4. Veg platter - 9/10
5. Tamarind cooler - 8/10
6. Lemonade - 10/10
7. Chocolate hummus - 10/10
All in all its a wonderful place I strongly recommend.
I'm not a big fan of Lebanese food, and yet the food at Za'atar blows me away every time. Incredible flavours and freshness in everything I've had. The muhamarrah dip is a star and I highly recommend you try it with whatever you order. Recommend it for a dine out or order in option.

Located in Laxmi Woolen Mills Compound, Shakti Mills Lane in Mahalaxmi; Za’atar is a Lebanese Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian outlet which is opened just a month and a half back. We were in the area looking for some authentic Lebanese food and went here to try them out. Parking is easily available outside the place in the lane. They have decorated the place nicely with bright colours and lights. Indoor seating is available and they also do home delivery and is also a child friendly place.
*DRINKS:*
# Mint Lemonade – You will definitely love this and is really soothing in summer heat.
# Tamarind Cooler – With a mix of grated ginger, lemon and tamarind; this is something which selective people will like but its worth the try.
*MEZZES:*
# Muhammarah – a Syrian origin dish which is made frim red spiced pepper in the form of hummus dip topped with olive oil, walnuts, pomegranate and Arabic spices and served with homemade pita bread. Loved the flavour.
# Avocado Hummus – a classic hummus blended with avocado and cilantro and topped with olive oil and chicpeas; served with flavoured pita bread to relish. Definitely try it !!
*MANAKEESH:*
# Cheese Chilli Garlic Manakeesh – A popular Levantine food which is our fav pick from the list and I am sure you would love it too. They have many varieties in it and the dish is similar to the pizza. Here the dough is filled with cheese and chilli garlic and then sliced and served with the dips. Definitely Recommended !!!
*SHAWARMA:*
# Harissa Paneer Wrap – A spicy option which we definitely wanted to try on. The wrap was loaded with Arabic spiced harissa paneer, veggies and leafy vegetables along with garlic and hot sauce. It was served with dips and was filling and nice.
*PLATTERS:*
# Mix Veg Grill Platter – This was a huge platter which included paneer, mushrooms, falafels and fried potatoes with an additional sauce of choice to select from. Best option to try if you are thinking to try many things in the same plate.
*DESSERT:*
# Chocolate Hummus – made with 65% chickpeas, this is more on the healthier side if you want to suffice your sweet tooth. This is served with fried cinnamon flavoured sticks and it tastes really good. Cant miss this one out.
Overall, we loved their Lebanese food and the staff is friendly and nice as well. The outlet is small but ambience is nice and the food is fresh and delicious. .
1. Avocado Hummus - I tried it for the first time and I am In love with it. The blend of avocado and hummus is so good that you will feel it should not finished. The texture of the hummus is perfect and creamy. A must try..!
.
2. Muhammrraha - Dude this is the best dish in there menu. Spicy red peppers blend with Pomogranate which gives you khata mitha taste and walnuts on the tops. I am again going here for this. You can't miss this seriously..!❤️

.
They are serving some mocktails like mint lemonade and tamarind cooler which pretty decent. But need more options in this.
.
Dessert - There is only one option to it is Chocolate Hummus. I never imagined that I will have hummus in this style as well. But I must say hats off to the thought behind it. It taste so so good that I am drooling now while writing this. And it served with the Cinnemon pita chips which enhances the taste of it.
.
The restaurant is providing you the Delivery services as well so you can order the food at your doorstep and enjoy there delicious food.
.
The long way to guys. The food is seriously amazing. Some part of improvement as you are newly started but you will do it.

The restaurant Za’atar is located 10 minutes away from Mahalaxmi railway station. The restaurant is small but the ambience is really unique and beautiful.
The service of the restaurant is very quick and all the waiters were very friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to serve us their best delicacies and even suggest their best dishes.
What I had was:
Drinks:
Mint lemonade: In this scorching heat what else does one want but an awesome lemonade. And this mint lemonade is just what I needed when I arrived at this place for lunch.
Tamarind cooler:I personally liked this drink very much that I actually had two of this.
Food:
Houmous Beiruti
Muhummarrah
Chicken shawarma
Falafel wrap
Batata Harra
Chocolate houmous
All these food items were very very delicious and they were beautifully presented. The presentation of the food dishes was on point and if you are a fan of Lebanese food I will highly recommend this place to you.

If you have a thing for labanese food, then i suggest you to visit this place called za'atar located at mahalaxmi near Shakti Mills. And it's approximately 10 minutes walking distance from mahalaxmi station.
First I ordered mint lemonade and tamarind cooler which were very refreshing.
What we were served
1) Houmous with chicken - which is served with tandoor chicken and pita bread and sauses. It is fresh, tasty and all in right proportion at a reasonable price.
2)Houmous beiruti - combination of Lebanese with tomatoes, cucumber and parsley, it is really tastes and something different I had tasted.
3) chicken shawarma - it is a charcoal grilled chicken with vegetables and garlic sauce rolled into pita bread 😍
This place has an amazing ambience. Small tables perfect for a date and also you can enjoy your time with your friends.

I have always loved the food at Za'atar and they have finally opened an outlet that will deliver to this side of the city! They have expanded their menu to include new dishes like the Manakish which is delicious. It is still my favourite hummus in town and would highly reccommend you to try it.
Za’atar is one of the few places you’ll get authentic Lebanese food in Mumbai. Great seating with a calming and comforting atmosphere.
For Vegetarians, must order:
Falafel Wrap Shawarma,
Harissa Paneer Wrap Shawarma,
Hummous with freshly baked Pita Bread,
Cheese Zaatar Manakeesh and
Avocado Hummous.
Great location and a must visit for Lebanese cuisine lovers.
The food was delivered on time and was packaged well. You could tell it was freshly prepared - it was still warm when it arrived. We especially enjoyed the chicken shawarma!
We ordered for a classic hummus, some pitta and falafel along with it
The hummus along with the falafel worked beautifully .
The taste of the hummus was sooo good !!!!
You dont need a silver fork to eat good food !
Finally a Lebanese Delivery Outlet that delivers an authentic fair to your door step.
At the onset let me tell you that the portions are big and generous kudos to that, as that's rare in the delivery space.
Now coming to the Food
Hummus : Good but I've eaten a lot better could tweak that a bit .
Labneh : This was good and tasted just Right .
Falafel Shawrma : We Made our own and got to say this was the winner of our meal a huge roll with generous amounts of falafel stuffed with copious amounts of hummus and the other sauces . The bread wrap was jus right and not too thick . The shawrma was authentic n must say a vegetarian delight .
Cottage Cheese Harrisa Bowl : We again chose to make our own bowl . This came in a 1000 ml container packed with spiced rice , huge chunks of cottage Cheese olive jalapenos lettuce, hummus , harissa, tahini this was wholesome n filling. The portion definitely serves 2 . Super fresh filling and tasty .
All in all was a good meal and will definitely order again. Keep it up team Zaatar .

Food was amazing, service is slow and a few items on the menu have very small portion like the bruschetta. The best thing about this place is their Hummus
Zatar is one of the finest Lebanese delivery kitchen I have come across lately .
Their delivery is always on time by default .
The packaging is 10/10 being spillproof & leakproof .
Also the portion size is generous being value for money in all respect .
The ingredients used are fresh which only enhances the overall taste of the dishes .
My favourite dishes are the creamy hummus , muhammarah ( literally the best in all of mumbai ) , the Greek salad which is wholesome , nutritious & very filling & lastly the harissa paneer makaneesh .
I regularly order from here for my house parties . Highly recommended .
Rated - 5/5
▶Chicken Shawarma -
Chargrilled Chicken with vegetables, fried potatoes & garlic sauce in a homemade Pita
Rated - 5/5
▶Muhammara -
Spicy red pepper with Walnuts, Pomegranate & Arabic spices
Rated - 4/5
▶Mutton Kabab -
Probably the only disappointing dish which as the Kabab was overcooked and was dry.
Rated - 3/5
▶Dark Chocolate Houmous -
Dark Chocolate with Walnuts served with crispy Cinnamon pita chips
Rated - 5/5

I think we ordered almost everything veg on the menu. It was incredible. Fresh and delish.
The humus chocolate dessert was a wonderful surprise. Must try. Very warm prompt service. Nirvaan made the experience even better.
Will surely recommend and revisit
A Lebanese inspired dessert dish that surprised me! Delicious is the word for the Chocolate Hummus.
The food was finger licking delicious! If u love Lebanese food then this should be your top option!! Every dish was better than the previous one! Fresh and hot. Nirvan did a fabulous job in suggesting us wat to choose and being so amazing and polite at his service! Can’t choose one dish to recommend as everything veg we ate was just super yum!! The chocolate hummus was outstanding too!! Will be back soon many more times:) thanks Nirvan!
Absolute lip smacking food. In Mumbai where authentic middle eastern food is rare to find and if found very expensive in places like Bayroute, Rue Du Liban etc. This place is lowely for some good arabic food. The menu is limited hence one star less (mutton dishes can be added) . Otherwise an amazing place and a must visit.

This place is a hidden gem in South Mumbai. If you’re a Lebanese person, this is the place you must visit.
They prepare their own fresh pita bread daily, Just Wow! Isn’t it just AMAZING! I absolutely love their tabbouleh salad and classic hummus The aroma of the lemon and olive oil dressing over the salad is enticing.
I highly recommend Za'atar for dinning over takeaway.
A must visit if you’re in and around Mahalaxmi.
This place was a hidden gem for me. They prepare their own fresh pita bread and Oh My! It is just AMAZING! I absolutely loved their chicken shawarma and the freshly prepared pita bread with tahini sauce. The aroma of the pita is enticing and I highly recommend Za'atar. A must visit!
One of the best Lebanese restaurants..
Great food and great ambiance..
Lovely find at Shakti Mills. Fresh and pleasant. Try the pomegranate juice.
A small hole in the wall place. Cute and cozy but not worth missing the food. They are more delivery oriented and the place cannot accommodate big crowds but the taste is fabulous. Will surely be ordering in.
Exceeded my expectations, some of the best Lebanese food I have had
