Forgot about the chargers , come here for the experience and hospitality. How can everything be so perfect and elegant. If you are going for sea lounge then , gateway of India view seat is must . I came here for a special occasion. This place added extra happiness to it . I recommend this place to everyone. It’s an iconic place, with Mumbai prime location.
Iconic - the word is an undestatement.
Fortunate to visit here as it was on my wish list since many years.
Sea view seats are recommended for completing the experience.
Food is undoubtedly costly, well presented, gourmet and delicious.
Serene live piano music adds to the atmosphere.
The place is decked up in serene shades of sea green. The tables, minimal furnitures, cutlery, chandeliors fit in for a classic ambience.
Visit the place for an experience.
I had a wonderful experience at Sea Lounge, a restaurant in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. I went there in the afternoon and wore semi formals. I got a table near the window, where I could see the sea and the Gateway of India. I chose the maharaja hi tea buffet, which had a lot of Indian snacks and unlimited sparkling wine. The food was delicious and plentiful, and I could reorder any item I liked. The decor and the ambience were also elegant and classy. The only thing that could have been better was the tea selection. They only gave me mumbai masala tea, which was good, but I would have liked to try some other varieties of Indian or exotic teas. They should have asked me for my preference or given me some options. Apart from that, everything was perfect. The views were stunning and it was a memorable experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a luxurious and scenic afternoon tea.
This olace is definitely fabulous. A must go for beautiful sea view and foood. Service is quite slow. They do not come pretty often to see if we are okay with food or drinks. Which is quite disappointing. Casual attire is a must. We ordered, and they did not even ask for any preferences, which is also disappointing. Every other person is treated according to their dressing style it's not same at all. So yes. There is discrimination here. Anyways.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sea lounge at Taj Mahal Palace offers the perfect fine dining experience. Visited this restaurant to enjoy their high tea buffet. And I must admit that sea lounge didn't disappoint. Everything on the menu was delicious. I tried a wide array of food items and each had a unique taste and flavour. This restaurant offers a magnificent and exquisite view of Arabian sea. The staff is cordial and well disposed. Their hospitality is top notch. One of my friend had a terrible headache and the staff graciously offered to make a special fennel and cardomom tea to help with the headache. Would just allow the photographs to speak for themselves.
An excellent experience while in Mumbai!
This hotel is so famous & holds so much historical value. Even if not staying there, having high tea at the Sea Lounge is an fine experience.
High tea is from 3:30-6:30. Usually no reservations, walk ins. (If the party is large, better to call) you can try multiple types of teas, along with pastries. The lounge also has a live singer / piano which adds an extra flare!
We spent about 2 hours here!
It was my first time so i don,t know that much but it was a wonderfull experience . The staffs were very friendly. The atmosphere was also good there was a singer she sang beautifully . We entered in the lounge and ordered samosa chaat , panipuri , cheese chilli toast and bean burger. Samosa chaat was so good so we ordered 2 times panipuri and cheese chilli toast was good but not good as the price .in drinks we ordered masala chai , chocolate milkhake and something pineapple shake they all were good according to the price it charge us 2000 per person but it was memorable experience and i will recommend you to go at evening because the veiw is amazing at that time
Very nice ambiance at the high tea here. It started at 3:30, but people were getting seated a few minutes before. The line at the buffet is pretty long at the opening but it clears up after a while. The views are really nice, best to get a window facing table if possible. The food was good!
Absolutely gorgeous! We were recommended by someone at the lobby to go to this restaurant. It has a great view of the sea and the Gateway, so ideal for us. The service, the food, the ambience were all fantastic! The cold coffee is to die for, easily the best cold coffee I have had ever. :)
The opulence of the entire hotel continues in this restaurant too and I felt like clicking photos of every single corner.
Absolutely in love with this place. The main beauty of this place is its sea view. Everything around you seems so elegant and scenic to your eyes. Live piano music was adding soul to scenic beauty with evening tea. Really recommended.
At least one time in your life you have to visit this place.. The ambience is nice with beautiful sea view.. Food quality is also high.. Staff is friendly and feel you very comfortable if you visit here for first time.. You can enjoy your food with live music which is the best thing. The main thing which I noticed here is in your normal life high rated restaurant the staff is very rudely but here they take care of your every thing and they are very polite. So if you visit taj definitely visit sea lounge and experience the great service ❤
We went to afternoon tea here and it was the best experience ever. The service was to another level with food preparations that left us amazed. This afternoon tea is unlimited. We had so many savouries we were so full for the sweet dishes.
The view of Gateway of India was perfect and the overall ambience was very regal. We stayed for over 3 hours taking our time on enjoying the delicacies.
The service and vibe was excellent, it’s a classic spot. The Taj was beautifully adorned with all the Christmas decorations as we went there for high tea a day after Christmas. Being a baker myself, I was expecting a lot of the classic high tea selections but the focus was switched with a lot of Indian food rather than the typical high tea food. Food was okay not much I can recall as spectacular or outstanding. It was not a true high tea, the scones and clotted cream was okay not amazing. There could have been more selection of finger sandwiches. The place met my expectation on classic vibe and service but fell short on my expectations of a classic high tea food.
Our trip was planned for the Harbour bar where I experienced what JRD might have experienced when he stood outside the Royal Yatch Club that said Dogs and Indians are not allowed. I wasn't allowed into the Harbour bar which was running some kind of an age policy.
Anyways we sauntered over to the Sea Lounge where we were told that there was a wait of a minimum of 20 mins. We ventured onto the reception area that was full and there was no place to wait. So back to the Sea Lounge and got a table within a few minutes. The place had at least 4 tables free which left the queue outside unexplained. We were refused the use of the tables by the window overlooking the harbour.
For food we ordered the crab cakes, the dahi bata puri, chicken club sandwich, lamb loin and pomfret panko. Drinks were the pinot grigio, the chardonay and refresher all of which were satisfactory.
The service was good and professional, not perfect but not worth complaining either.
Food and service were excellent, but we were told that the buffet service would be closing at 4pm as a part of the Sea lounge was booked for a private party... so we had to hurry up... the relaxed atmosphere of the Sea lounge for which it is so famous had to take a back seat that day... otherwise everything was great
This restaurant offers the finest views of the Arabian Sea and Gateway of India. We had breakfast spread set here. This restaurant is only restricted to Taj Mahal Palace residents.
If you’re coming on weekend, I advice going early between 8-8:30 to get the corner table.
The breakfast was simply amazing and offered a wide range of options. It included multiple varieties of croissants (plain, butter and chocolate), coffees (cappuccino, latte, black, etc.), cereals, juices, Indian snacks, etc. It also had international breakfast options including baked beans, pan cakes, etc.
The food taste was superb and hospitality was next-level. The place has hosted several dignitaries in the last century.
Must visit restaurant to experience a part of history and enjoy beautiful views.
Wonderful experience at Sea Lounge. We had been there for Afternoon High Tea.
View from the window seat is breathtaking.
Quality of service, Food quality and in general attention to detail was fantastic.
It's what you expect from The Taj!
