On my trip to Mumbai, I stumbled upon Prakash Shakahari Upahar Kendra and what a find! As someone not from Maharashtra, the array of vegetarian maharashtrian dishes here was an exciting dive into local flavors. I tried their sabudana vada, misal, thalipith, patra for the first time, and all were deliciously spiced and comforting. It's clear that each dish is made with a lot of love and care with a balance of ingredients, the dishes were new to our palatte so some of us did not like all of them but that's understandable. We also tried their famous piyush, kokam sharbat and Solkadhi. Solkadhi surprisingly was an amazing spicy drink and totally loved that. Piyush was similar to lassi drink and was pretty comforting. The place has a friendly, welcoming vibe, packed with people enjoying their meals. It feels very much like a community hub, with the hustle of excited chatter and clinking dishes. The staff were super helpful in recommending dishes, which added to the warm experience. For any traveler looking to taste authentic Maharashtrian vegetarian cuisine, Prakash Shakahari Upahar Kendra is a must-visit!

Well, the place is pretty famous for breakfast. Went for breakfast today, and there was queue. The road is well dug up and it’s difficult to walk. Place is buzzing with action and offers traditional maharashtrian food. Good food, good service, however, the hype around is far too much. Tried poha, sabudana vada, puri bhaji, misal. Poha is but dry, sabudana vada is good, misal is good. Service is extremely quick but can be a bit warm.

This is oldest eatery in Dadar delivering consistently tasty and authentic Maharashtrian food for decades. Prakash is the name synonimous with quality and innovative Maharashtrian snacks. Batata Wada, Sabudana Wadi, Kothimbir Wadi are some of the many items that are fan-favorites in here. Service is quick, efficient and accurate. Uncles waiting the tables were wearing pretty Pink uniforms with clean White bottoms. Seating is congested and you need to focus on priorities i.e eating and get out as soon as you are done as many people are waiting behind you. So, you should not be expecting 'a lot can happen over food' experience here. But, you can always order in and have that experience at home. Try Masala Doodh as well. I have been told that it is quite good.

Prakash Shakahari Uphaar Kendra in Dadar, Mumbai is a delightful haven for those seeking authentic Maharashtrian cuisine and snacks. This iconic eatery has been a culinary institution for decades, and it continues to uphold its reputation for serving mouthwatering traditional dishes. The first thing that strikes you at Prakash is the warm and welcoming ambiance. The decor exudes a classic charm, and the staff's friendliness is exceptional. But what truly sets this place apart is its delectable Maharashtrian fare. The menu is a treasure trove of regional delights, offering an array of classics like Misal Pav, Vada Pav, Poha, and Sabudana Khichdi. The flavors are nothing short of remarkable, with a perfect blend of spices and freshness that tantalizes the taste buds. One must not leave without trying their iconic Misal Pav, a fiery yet flavorsome curry served with pav bread. The Vada Pav, often referred to as the "Indian burger," is another must-try, with its deep-fried potato fritter served inside a bun. These staples are complemented by the savory Poha, a popular breakfast option, and the comforting Sabudana Khichdi. The snacks at Prakash Shakahari Uphaar Kendra are equally impressive. The Batata Wada and Sabudana Vada are crispy and delightful, perfect for snacking. Their Thalipeeth, a multigrain flatbread, is a unique and healthy choice. In conclusion, Prakash Shakahari Uphaar Kendra is a gem in Dadar, Mumbai, for anyone craving authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. It encapsulates the essence of Maharashtra's culinary heritage with a diverse range of dishes that are both scrumptious and soul-satisfying. The affordable prices and the rich flavors make it a go-to spot for locals and tourists alike.

Hands down one of the best Misal I've ever tried! I wasn't so keen on having misal to be honest, because of all the extremely watery, oil overloaded misals I've had before. But the one served here at Prakash was absolutely delicious, perfect consistency and not too oily! ❤️💯 Other delicacies we tried were: Sabudana Wade, Thalipeeth, Alu wadi, Piyush, Kokam Sherbet. All of which were scrumptious and totally made our Saturday morning breakfast! 🤗 10/10 Recommend!

50 year old place is famous for their maharastrian food. I genuinely found it ok considering the hype it has. Pros - You can try Mattha misal which is served with sweet curd. For those who can't eat spicy can try also sabudana wada is worth a try. Cons- 1) Place is always crowded, you may have to stand in queue to get in. 2) They don't accept other forms of transaction. Only cash, which is quite inconvenient 3) Place is comparatively small and noisy.
