The ambience is amazing. Its by the bay and very pleasant. I come here especially for Parsi style Chicken Dhansak with brown rice which is their special dish. Absolutely love the taste. Also patra ni machi and salli boti is worth it.

Cafe at The NCPA came recommended from a friend and totally lived up to it’s reputation. It is located inside the NCPA at the very end of Marine Drive at Nariman Point. I had one of the yummiest Spanish pizza followed by one of the best looking Tiramisu I’ve ever had. The place has a great ambience with an indoor as well as outdoor seating area. The hospitality was another plus with very courteous staff. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy cocktails and a good meal with friends.

We had ordered for mini meals but I loved this dish Singapore chilli garlic fish . It took me back in flashback where I loved eating fish at Singapore . Missed that taste which I got to taste again in this restaurant . It comes with lovely crispy fish with nice Thai type orange gravy which was tangy . It is a must try for all Thai / Singapore food lovers .

An excellent place to visit all through the year. Lot of repeat value since they keep on doing a lot of seasonal stuff. The fixed menu has taken a hit since Amadeus downed its shutters. The quality of the food and service is excellent. Seating area is nice but dimly lit.
Once upon a time it was raining in Mumbai, and it rained and it rained, and there was good lavender tea to make it more beautiful. Tuna was mustardy and Kejriwal was spicey. Isn't life good in cafe at NCPA with rain and sea and food and ambience- it is.

Had piri piri onion pakoras, palak pakodas, and wonderful fresh lime soda to start. Followed by aromatic tofu, stir fried chicken, with noodles and rice. Also had mixed vegetables in gravy with tandori roti.
Everything was prepared well. Staff was courteous.
Cocas and mud pie were awesome! Their set lunch also has a good variety and choice of dishes. It is on the expensive side but good to go once in a way for the lovely ambience.

A lovely place at one of the best locations in Bombay i.e Marine Drive. They have an interesting menu which is an amalgamtion of a few restaurants like Joss and a few more. I love the Khow Suey at Joss and hence had to try it at this place as well, and as expected it was delicious!! The other dishes that I tried was the Eggs Kejriwal and Crispy Eggs. Eggs kejriwal is a pretty standard dish & you will find many places serving their own version of this. It was good at NCPA Café too, but the best dish was crispy eggs...a unique dish & must try for all egg lovers

An amazing place to spend a winter evening!! The food is great!! The Khao suey is a must try!! The corn crusted cheese and jalapeño burger, cocas and the edamame and waterchest nut dimsums were great!!! And u can definitely not miss out on the chocolate soufflé!! It’s a must try!!

If I were to list my favourite things to do in Mumbai, then a concert at NCPA followed by dinner at the NCPA cafe would be right on top of the list. We come to the cafe as frequently as our pocket allows, and bring almost all our friends here too! Love the ambience, the food - almost everything about the place!
Yesterday was one of those evenings at the cafe. On this occasion we only had a medley of starters - trying to choose less spicy ones as we had a South American friend with us. The Edamame dimsums and the Chilli-cheese baby naans were delicious, but the starter that really won our heart (via our tummies, naturally!) was the Raan-e-shahi. It was melt-in-the-mouth mutton with a perfect combination of spices. We were really thankful to UK, who was taking care of our table last evening, for recommending it.
The sangria at the cafe is usually good, and our favourite. But on this occasion we decided to go for their cocktails. One must-try cocktail here is the Burnt-lemon Margarita. It’s not listed on their new menu, but they can make it on request... so, all margarita/ tequila lovers - go for it!
The USP of this place is definitely its semi-outdoor ambience, which makes it perfect for cool evenings. Summer evenings are not that great though, despite the management’s best attempts to keep the place cool. But still, that is just a small black dot on a otherwise fabulous experience!
I would recommend NCPA cafe very highly - especially for visitors to Mumbai - bundle it with a play/concert at NCPA theatre for a fantastic treat to all your senses!
Visited this place with my family and loved the ambience. The cafe is partially covered and partly opened and has a very good vibe. We had a cup of mocha and a pizza. The food was decent and was complimented with the ambience due to the wind and the rustling leaves.

Old is Gold . Great place ! Tried and Tested with time. This place never fails our expectations. Love the Amritsari Chole & Kulcha here. Great staff , very polite and courteous. Especially after we decided to walk out from the #BombayBrasserie due to the staff being utmost rude & un co-operative. Guess the staff at the #BombayBrasserie, Worli need a little hands on training on decency and commonsense - expecting a family of 3 to sit on a table of 2 !! (Inspite of an advance reservation being made, and being there on the dot).
The light breeze blowing, the sight of the sea and a perfect place to spent your evening after a hectic day. This place is a open cafe which serves some delicious food. Since its a outdoor cafe I'll recommend you going in the evening to enjoy the cool breeze. The Menu has good option and is decently priced. I'll recommend you the potato jacket overloaded and the khou sey.
It's a good place with nice ambience. In terms of price it is steep but the service and food was great. The staffs are also friendly.

So much of green here. Got some vegetarian protin via this hariyani paneer tikka. The yummy marinade and super soft paneer made for such delightful combo. Love this place.
After an interesting evening of watching theatre that tickles your ribs. We were hungry and no mood to wait for food. Hence the decision to dine at the cafe.
The place has good ambience and people of all ages. The service is quick and efficient.

4.5/5 panko crusted tofu, the crust was crisp and thin, the tofu silken smooth. The flavours perfectly balanced. The single peanut as a garnish is truly inspired as it gives the perfect bite to a delicate starter.
5/5 the prawn khau suey, the only grievances that I have is I thought the portion was quite small.
4/5 the chicken prawn dim sum. The dim sum that makes you wonder what it is that you were eating.
5/5 the chocolate kahlua soufflé. Omg it’s something that I would travel miles to eat over and over.
All this accompanied by chilled beer and wine.

The setting.... The place has an amazing atmosphere and vibe. The food is good, it is not great but there is nothing to complain about here. I have been a regular here with my office just next door and have not found anything which disappointed me.
The prime advantage of this place is it's location. It's inside the NCPA campus. The ambience is beautiful and the crowd is extremely refined. The outdoor seating from where you can see the sunset, is the perfect time to visit this place. It's where you go when you want to log out of life and just breathe.
Although I do feel that considering the price they're charging, the quantity of the food can be increased.

Visited this place for a brunch kind of scene with a friend coz I was in that area ad zomato suggested this place. This cafe is in the same campus of ncpa auditorium as the name suggests. Nice quite place with open seating and green grass. The ambience gets full marks . I ordered a grilled chicken burger and a raspberry smoothie. The smoothie was just perfect and the Burger was also delicious and juicy. I think the place is more for people who have come to watch theater to enjoy some food rather than people to specially come for food and hence there was very little crowd . Nevertheless the experience and food was nice . Total rating - 4

Café At NCPA-
Place located inside the NCPA campus, at the end of the marine drive… we visited the place on weekend for some early dinner.
Ambiance:
As NCPA is located at the end of the land, when you enter inside sea breeze welcomes you. There was no play slot at that time so it was really quiet and peaceful walking from the main gate to the café.
It’s an open café with dim lighting, some nice green planters perfect for unwinding and engaging in some nice conversations.
There were air coolers placed at sides… they were not on and that was not required also as the breeze did the work.
Lighting is not bright so you can’t get good pictures of food :P
Service:
The service is very good. Staff is well trained and polite. They know menu well and have recommendations as well. Service time is well too.
Food:
Now when it comes to food, they had some interesting ice gola options so decided to start with one.
Had melon basil gola. The gola was well presented with a shot glass having extra syrup for topping up the crushed ice. The syrup was though regular melon crush with some chopped basil. May be there could have been some more twist to the flavors. Will be liked by people who like the sweet Melony flavor (more like the melon flavored candies). Was refreshing though.
Next, we had an appetizer stuffed with cottage cheese, spinach shaped in triangles and fried.
Was good in taste and was not excessively oily also though fried.
We also had baked jacket potatoes which were topped with fried beans, cheese and sour cream.
Nicely cooked and well balanced.
In mains, we had white sauce pasta-penne. Pasta was cooked correctly. Sauce was well balanced with correct flavors. Liked it.
Did not have anything in desserts. May be will try in some other visit.
Overall good place at a nice location. Can be pricy but the place and ambiance can kinda justify it.

Cafe @ NCPA holds a special place in our hearts. We’ve cherished some amazing moments here. This time too, it did not disappoint us. We had a quiet dinner on a weeknight and it was immensely pleasurable experience. We ordered piri piri fries and a couple of mains dishes - all of them finger licking good. Our server was specially very nice. All in all - this place gives us more reason to go back every time !
What a beautiful experience to step into this cafe right after attending an event at the NCPA!
Fully lit with lights and open air seating makes this little cafe score so high on ambience and makes for a wonderful sitting and chatting experience.
We ordered some mocktails and shakes which were good. I was after the Chaat menu but realized that they don't serve it post 7pm, so had an achari paneer tikka roll, which was good.
We had the chocolate ice cream which they make in house in the end which was decent too. Although we didn't eat much, we were enjoying the ambiance of the place. The service is quick and the staff is very courteous. The cost for two is on the higher side.

Just like the NCPA, this cafe is also a place where you go regularly! It’s almost like a ritual to have a cup of coffee or Lemonade before or after the performance.
The staff, service and location always works here! Though the quantity is less the quality has been the same all these years! I never had any bad experience.
I normally opt for Mocha in the evening and Lemonade or cold coffee in the afternoon. Yesterday I had had a cold coffee and Garlic bread with mozzarella. As usual, it was fantabulous!

It was an impromptu decision to go there yesterday evening. Driving all the way from Navi Mumbai to marine drive for the evening view. Decided to have coffee but then this place is not just a coffee shop. It is much more than that. Was lucky though that we got a table without as it wasn’t crowded perhaps because there was no show happening at NCPA yesterday due to Good Friday.
1. Started with the veg dim sum. Must say it was very good the best veg dim sum till date that my has eaten.
2. Tried the popular khow suey and we both loved it. We agree that it has to be the most popular food on their menu.
3. Also ate the the vegetable sauce with mee goreng. Spicy it was but very nice.
4. Quantity is just enough to satisfy 2.
5. Bira white was very fresh and perfect for the evening.
6. location is best and weather was just perfect yesterday evening.
7. Lastly service was excellent with special mention of Krishna Thapa who was very courteous and helpful.

The cafe gets just about everything right. The setting, the food and the courteous staff. Great place to spend an evening. I for one found the environment particularly delectable and languid.
This is a cafe right behind the NCPA. The ambiance of the place is very good, service is absolutely professional.
We tried a Chicken Burger, Turkish Chicken Gyro Roll and Chicken dim sums and a lot of salads.

For celebrating dear wife’s birthday in Mumbai, we chose to watch an English play at NCPA in the evening, followed by an al fresco dinner at Izaya, the café at NCPA. The muted lights with large potted plants in abundance crafted a romantic yet natural ambience and we were quite lucky to get a table for two of us as we had ambled into the cafe. This was Sunday evening and very soon the patrons were asked to wait for 25-30 minutes for a table…
As starter, we had asked for a portion of ‘Pahadi Murg Tikka’ to go with the pints of Kingfisher Ultra. The dish was served with six large chunks of boneless chicken marinated in the green sauce and roasted to perfection in a tandoor. In the main course, we opted for a portion of Khao Suey with chicken and a mini meal combo of Singapore fish (Seabass) with hand pulled noodles. The quantities served in each portion were adequate for consumption by one person. But the quality of both the dishes prepared was of top order with the usage of mild and aromatic spices. We ended our dinner with ‘Tender Coconut Ice cream’, a specialty by the café. The wait-staffs were courteous and very helpful in selecting the items for our dinner. For the aforesaid dishes coupled with three pints of beer cost us Rs.3414/-.
Looking forward to watching another interesting play at NCPA so as to further explore its café especially for the Parsi dishes.

A brilliant location right at the tip of Mumbai and a prominent location as Marine Drive.. This place has some of the best Theatre and Performances available and within they have setup this lovely café..
It's open air and although small has a brilliant vibe to it.
I've mostly been here for lunch and mainly for the Burmese Khao Suey.. Although it seemed like the quantity has reduced drastically while the prices have increased atleast of this dish.. The taste however was still awesome and I'll definitely come back!!

I wasn’t even aware that there is cafe at NCPA and when I was searching for lunch places around Nariman Point, Zomato showed me this! Located facing the sea side of NCPA, the cafe is well hidden to general public. The menu was limited mixture of indian and Italian food. We ordered cheese naan as starters. It was so yummy that we asked for another one. In main course, I opted for pasta whereas my Non-veg friends ordered butter chicken with naan. The food was well cooked and delicious. Only disappointment was the quantity. They served very small plate compare to the price they charge.
Since I was so hungry that I forgot to click picture of any dishes which we ordered.
Overall, nice place to relax and eat at your own pace!
The location makes the cafe a great place to visit especially for lunch and in the evenings. It is breezy because it’s by the sea. The dimsums, Koka pizza, khao say, tandoori kebabs, mini meals, burgers, milk shakes and iced tea is really good. The menu has something for everyone.
A ’breezy’ café with semi open settings and close to the sea. It has a garden style seating giving a nudge for a long and relaxed meal. We came here for dinner on a weekend and managed to get a seat with 10 min wait. We started with the popular choice of Khao Suey that came with a very nice plating and the varied accompaniments made it a fulfilling meal. The curry had strong flavors and a rich aroma. We shifted to Indian soon and ended the dinner with biryanis which were very well cooked and had distinct and balanced spicy taste.

Part of my 5th wedding anniversary weekend celebrations, we visited this an hour prior to a major concert by the genius Dr L Subramaniam at the NCPA. There was no space for mistakes.
We were in for a quick bite after a very long day, we entered ordered 3 items, baked jacket potatoes served with a mushroom gravy, baked beans. The other was a falafel wrap and we started with two sangrias, one white and one red.
We must admit, the sangrias were outstanding, both equally different and full of fruity flavours. The falafel was also great and freshly fried and rolled, it was different for two really unique reasons, no mayonnaise and no humus inside! It was served with spicy sauces instead and the result was quite good. The white sangria was a citrus flavoured one, was recommended by the waiter and must admit the recommendations by the waiter for both of us was spot on.
The star of the evening however was the baked jacket potatoes served with baked beans and spicy red sauce, with a creamy mushroom gravy. It was served hot, the gravy was creamy and spicy both merged together but served separately. It was the best dish I have had at the cafe, I have come here some 4 - 5 times much before I started reviewing on Zomato.
I am so desperate to eat the potatoes again, I want to visit again only for this reason, I wanted to do that again that same night but we did not have time.
PS also a mention for the beautifully crafted chutney served with the falafel roll.

This is the right place to head to after watching an awesome Naseeruddin Shah family performance. Cafe is very welcoming, with plenty of tables, though mostly occupied by theatre goers. Food and ambience needs no criticism. Service was prompt.

Oh the view! The settings.. Just the very ambience around it will make you feel grande! The breeze playing, the view of the sea, having your own corner even in the otherwise open way of spacing seating it all just adds up. We were there only for the coffee.. But made a promise to return soon :)

Call us naive but we had no idea about the existence of this place. Never shows up in al fresco places when Mumbai has a HUGE dearth of it. Came up when we were looking for coffee places and we were already excited what we read.
We were here on a rainy day - and what a day it turned out to be! As soon as we walked towards it, crossing a modern garden, we knew the afternoon is made - we cancelled our lunch reservation elsewhere. It is spread over a pretty big area with an open kitchen. While that is usually nice, the proximity of it led to a bit too much of kitchen noise - something for them to consider.
The service was very nice. They happily shifted us thrice as the rains kept chasing us and we weren't ready to get away :) . There was some push towards their 'special' cocktails which I thought was unnecessary but otherwise it was pretty nice.
The food menu was a total revelation - they had fondue! We ofcourse tried it and it turned out to be reasonably ok - not much better you can hope outside of Europe I suppose. The menu was pretty otherwise too. The burger was nice and dessert, yum. The beverage menu was awesome and they had 3-4 different type of sangrias. We loved our 'berry' sangria - that's a MUST try. Other options were pretty good too.
Not super heavy on the pocket - which was another surprise given the prime location, but am not complaining ;) . MUST visit!

I was waiting for the rest buddies to join while I was surfing the net, I thought wil sit at nariman point for some time and make a move after finishing at Mcd.
Sudden change in plan, was going through zomato and realised the best place to spend quality time with them was at Ncpa cafe.
As I planned this, all reached. I told them will go to Ncpa and trust me it was a lovely decision. We entered the place while we cross the reception and passage led us to the cafe.
The interior is open and well done. Most of the seats were full. We managed to get a table. We requested the server to switch us to the table near the open breeze and yes eventually it was granted when the table emptied.
We ordered for some drinks, snacks, and side orders.
The drinks were well done. Being independence day we could not order for hot drinks. May be next time we can.
Our server name Lawrence was helpful in serving as well as clicking the momenta we wanted to cherish.
Overall had a lovely time with soft music played in the background. We friends could hear each other and gossip.

Spent a lovely afternoon at the NCPA cafe today. Everything was just right ... Holiday for Independence day and Dahi handi, lovely monsoon breeze, no summery soaring temperatures and some very delicious food. We had the Khao Suey, Fish burger, Eggs Kejriwal, Chhole with Kulcha and Water chestnut dimsums. Every dish was lovely but the dimsums, Kejriwal and Khao Suey were the best. Also went by Zomato reviews and ordered the Berry smoothie which was very good (I don't even like smoothies but this was smooth and yummy).
Great place in the rains. The beeze is just unreal. Had the salmon fish which was done really well and the beef burger was great. The salmon was cooked very well being such a thick piece of fish. It was soft and succulent.
The captain was great. He was the one with a moustache and kept us informed right through of the time it would take for our food to reach and apologized as well when it was slightly late.
Overall a great experience as always at ncpa.

An overdue review! This place has an aura and vibes of its own...which is so calmative and refreshing you wont feel like leaving the place at once! Dimsums and momos i am sure everyone had a lot.. but this distinctive combo of water-chest nut and broccoli is peculiar to this place only.

A must-visit place after catching a show at NCPA. Went for a play with Mom on Saturday night at Tata Theatre and we were famished by the time it was over. Quickly hopped on to this cafe to grab a place for two. We had ordered a chicken gyro roll (base of pita bread) and pan seared chilly garlic fish (sea bass). It was just the right quantity and well prepared. The best part was the service. I have rarely seen such prompt service at a restaurant as packed as this one. Ambience is something one should experience. Open-air, yet so cool and soothing. Looks like I am definitely in for a snack/meal for my numerous upcoming visits!!
Lovely ambience. The location is also very convenient. The staff is very friendly. The decor is tastefully done.

Love this place in the monsoon when the sky blesses us with heavenly showers.
My most fav dishes here are the shrimp n chive dimsums and the prawn khau suey.
So is blackened fish burger and andheri chole kulcha.
Do like to try the days specials as well.
I can sit here for hours n not get bored. The place has a different vibe of class n culture.
The staff is courteous.
A great outdoor restaurant at nariman point. When you visit NCPA for a play next time do visit this place. I would definitely visit this place more often during the winters. A great menu with a multi cuisine, a pleasant atmosphere and ambience.
I enjoyed the dhansak , momos, the beef burger is to die for. Their chocolate cake was super yummm!!!
Definitely a place to go with friends for coffee and an evening snack or for dinner with friends during the winters.

I was at the Godrej Theatre earlier to watch a friends play. I went out to capture the sunset and came back to the Cafe for some dinner. The sea breeze gets you real hungry.
I had to park outside on the street opposite as the parking had gotten full. It was just 20:30. On the bright side, there's ample parking space outside.
The Cafe is just too awesome. Starts with 3 tables on the right and a huge open kitchen on the left followed by some more tables to the right. Then another section starts, I guess, for the larger crowd. Then there's this awesome AC party hall inside with dinner section too. The Cafe at NCPA is large vertically.

Fresh lime soda [mix]
Fresh fruit juice [ watermelon, as only watermelons were available]
Chicken Farcha
Makhani chooze chicken
Chicken dhansak with brown rice
I wanted to try authentic Parsi food and I'm glad I tried here. The Chicken Farcha was just too awesome. The Makhani Chooze Chicken was stuffed khulcha and it was good. Both these dishes were served on a Bat. IPL fever, eh? The Chicken dhansak dal was cooked in dal and it kinda felt okay. The chicken was well cooked thou'
The washroom [m] was just too awesome. It was very clean and neat.
The ambiance of the Cafe was too good. It was chilled out. Located at the extreme end f Bombay you can hear the waves of the Arabian sea crashing against the wall.
An elderly manager at the Cafe was extremely well-built. I could tell. I wanted to talk and appreciate him but couldn't find him around when I left. If the management is reading this, kindly pass my regards to him and ask him to keep at it.
The Cafe at NCPA is highly recommend. Do visit after you watch a good play at the NCPA.
The food is exceptional, the Khowsuey being my favourite! The best way to end your evening after watching a play at NCPA. The only negative is this place being an open air cafe, has limited coolers and the "humidifiers" make it worse.
