This family restaurant is located in the busy area of mohammad ali road. The have good variety of classic indian food served at reasonable price.
This restaurant is pure gold.
Quick service, freshly prepared food with awesome taste.
In peak hours you may have to wait...But it's totally worth...
So far tried Chhole Bhatoore, Lassi and Paneer Paratha.
Chhole Bhatoore were awesome...Lassi was thick and perfectly sweet.Paratha was Perfectly stuffed.
Will definitely visit again.
Nice food ..with time on delivery...will visit again
Food according to my taste .expecting more offer in this restaurant in future ..ao can visit
As Nanumal has been our family’s favourite destination, I ordered my lunch from there.
No doubt as usual, the food was delicious. Also good in terms of quality and quantity.
Just keep the system always working so that we can have tasty foods..One of the best Indian taste...sabzis are their prime and paneer tikka tastes good
quantity was good all was good but tere also should be little bit improvement in taste of food 2_3 times I ordered all was good but taste was not so good
It is famous for its budget thalis !!!!! One thali is sufficient for one person. Kids can share. The rotis were superb. The sabzis i.e. vegetables keep on changing everyday. The dal was nice. Try their special thali also. It comes with tadke wali dal and gheewali rotis..nd a sweet dish. Their buttee milk is also refreshing !!! Worth a visit !!
Food 4/5
Service 3/5
Ambience 3/5
Visiting this place from last 5 years and absolutely loved the food here.
Comfort and soothing Thali at very reasonable price.
They don't have AC but the food is worth to try their Chaas (buttermilk) should not be missed.
good packing. and good quality
Awesome Thalis at this place offers you a heavy meal option with great quality. This place has good service. Paneer Tikka Masala and Papad Choori are recommended at this place.
amazing veg kolhapuri with adequate spices.
A very nice place to satisfy your taste buds with the vegetarian Punjabi treats. One of the finest veg restaurants at Mohammad Ali Road. Service is great. The food served here is lip smacking and quite affordable too. Ambiance is not that great but the taste of the food definitely makes it up!
Great food, nice service, ambience average, cost friends for tight pockets.... the khicha papad are the legendry range for this restaurant... and the dry bhindi isn't match for others.... now also opened in pune at camp area... pune welcomes this range for well being and pleasure
Nice food. Tasty & clean. malai methi muttar & butter chapati With butter milk. In sweet I like nanumal's gulab jamun .I love it............
This place is a simple, no-fuss kind of restaurant. They have Air-Conditioned and normal options available with small tables laid out for the latter. The staff is quick, the place doesn't have fancy decorations but it is well-maintained and clean.
I have tried thalis across restaurants including the fabled ones and this place is right up there. Nanumal Bhojraj is primarily a punjabi restaurant and they don't let you feel bland over your food that often Non-vegetarians crib over. The food is flavourful and rich (forget calories when you're here),
The rice preparations are good but just a shade below the mushroom or paneer main course.
The parathas are delicious, especially Gobi paratha.
When you order rotis, ask to not bring them in a heap.
My personal favourite here, Mushroom Masala.
All in all, a simple place for comfort food.
A must visit place after shopping at Crawford market. While others crave for non veg feast at Mohammad Ali Road, our group used to go this place for hopping on veg food. They sarv amazing north Indian food. Dry fried veggies, chaas bottle, ghee rotis, gravies, sweets everything is fabulous. I recommend this place to all my friends for a good veg experience. "Pet bhara par dil nahi bhara" is what I can say at the end.
Writing old review of visited before.
It was famous for good n tasty veg food in that area.
Special thali was very famous with ghee dipped home made chapati with many tasty dishes at affordable rate.
Authentic dishes very rare to find in place like mumbai..but they serve you all of it .. no tatting to worry and just try their Biryani. .Mark my words really worth eating .. ambiance Is kind of okay but this place is famous for food itself... delivery time is also good part from being it super full during all days of week
Located in a very busy area of Mumbai. Anything you have either thali or punjabi cuisine, all are tasty. Service is also ok during crowded hours. Price is economical too
Had been here last week on a rainy day for lunch,
The place was surprisingly crowded and had to wait for a few minutes before getting a table.
There it came to my notice their thali which includes 2 portions of vegetables, 1 portion of dal and 1 raita along with 4 chaoatis.
We also ordered for a kolhapuri separately which was their recommendation.
The place although a bit low on hygeine managed to serve good food and the value for money is very much.
We had all this for Rs200
This place has a good taste and it's dalfry is to die for.

A delicious place to have amazing North Indian food, dripping with ghee but you can ask them to make it in less ghee if you are diet conscious. Service is very quick and helpful. Portions are very good for 1 person per dish and absolute value for money.
This place is the saviours for veggie food lovers at masjid. The thali is great and it's quite reasonable when it comes to cost with a decent ambiance
A lip smacking experience for vegetarian food lovers, altho a bit high on spices & condiments, I'd say & more than a bit high on ghee & oil. Their N.B. Special Thali, Gobhi Masala, Baingan Masala, Bhindi Masala/Dry, Aloo Bhindi fry, Bajra Roti, Dahi Curry Pakoda, Lassi, Usal/Misal are well worth a try.
But this ordinary looking restaurant serves a wide assortment of Indian swets & savouries as well.
The Food Auror(Naila Kazi)
+3.5
Their special thali is to diee for!!! I do really love their packaging for the thali as well - makes life really convenient. Their dal tadka is lip smacking!!
Excellent vegetable food restaurant full paisa wasool but seating problem hai Q K ye fine dine restaurant nahi hai ye ek foodie adda hai kha aur nikal jao.
Came here for the first time, an good veg hotel, I had veg biriyani. taste, presentation all was good, a good cool place to have food, seemed crowded, good food at affordable cost.
The food at NB is wholesome and tasty. The eatery has a narrowish layout on the ground floor with a small staircase leading to the mezzanine floor. As advised by fellow Zomatoites I called for the papad churi (yummy & crispy without being bitter); followed by Paneer Kolhapuri (soft paneer cubes in a tangy gravy) with Makai roti (gleaming with butter). Then on serendipitous whim I called for the dal lasooni which for me was a stand out dish, thick dal with a brilliant burnt garlic flavour. Called for the gulabjamun for dessert and it was a 'melt in your mouth' preparation - a must try.
The portions are just enough for a ravenous eater or could be had by two if multiple dishes are ordered.
A very good VEG food joint. Though I am a pure non-veg bit certainly this veg food joint was awesome. I ordered a N.B special thali which comprised of ghee tandoori rotis , masala aloo finger chips, paneer khadai , dal tarka a sweet , a glass of masala chaas and veg pulao. The taste was too good. Ambiance : 3.5/5 Service : 4.5/5 and Food quality :4.5/5. You should give it a try. I also tried sweets from their outlet. Sweets are really good. Go for it.
A perfect place for extra oily lunch. The food tastes very good especially double tadka dal in ghee/oil. A must try if u like Rajasthani style north Indian food. Ambiance is very average but so is the pricing. Its very reasonable. Try once and u will not be disappointed
Excellent food. Undoubtedly... Their N.B special thali was very yummy. We also tried their paneer makhanwala . the paneer was soft n tasty. Total Value for money
My rating is based on 1 visit. Rating scale is 1-5 (1 being the lowest)
Ambience: 4: I sat in the AC section which was well maintained and was neat and clean
Hygiene: 4
Value for money:3
Wait time: 3 : It took them 10 mins to get the food which was good.
Service: Service was quick and good
Food taste: 4
Ordered: Paneer tikka masala, dal tadka, chaas
Great food...taste should visit. Not high budget hotel but quality is maintained. The best are some of the sweet items. Service is not the best but in rush hours best place near cst station.
we had got a chance to visit this restaurant finally with office Colleagues after a long time. I had heard a lot from people saying that it is one of the best vegetarian restaurant in masjid-cst area.
Wel, that was a weekday when we visited the restaurant. My first reaction was very bad because it is in very crowdy market place and its non-ac section was too small. We asked to sit in ac section which is upstairs but that too is very small. ACs were switched off and nobody was there axcept a waiter. In this situation, i had doubt about the food also. But as it was decided, we ordered Thali.
Restaurant serves 3 type of thali. Its nothing but just the difference in vegetables (sabji) and rice. We ordered Spl thali and n.b. spl thali.
Taste of veg was pretty good and it reminds the taste of food in bhagat tarachand. Yes! Its true. Same small n soft rotis(chapatis), same taste of veg But quantity is very less per thali as compared to bhagat tarachand....yes, obviously! rate is also low than B.T. so that is acceptable. Cannot rate the restaurant so perfectly as i had thali and never tasted other food but considering the kind of taste ( nothing to say about the ambience ), prices and service by staff... Its 3.5
The must visit place when low on budget and high on hunger..a pocket freindly place..with the food..muaaahh!love the spices..aroma from kitchen makes you ask for more ..and a glass full of chass to finish the meal..awesome!
Visited for the first tym... And i was very much impressed by the food...Amazing food....just love it... Special. Roti is very soft... Paneer makkhanwala sweet n tangy....apt...Papad choori is delicious..... And bottle chass...totally worth it... N i was surprised to see the bill...it costed very less... Paisa vasool lunch..... Service and ambience. Is quite good....Will visit soon....
The best dal tadka on this side of Mumbai for sure!! Frequent visits are for their special roti which feels so homemade! Lassi and chaas are top notch. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for some ghee / amul butter rich traditional food fare.
very good if u want to celebrate party in low budget !!!!! value for money....
This is perhaps one of the oldest restaurants in Mumbai. Nanumal Bhojraj was established as a small sweet shop at Masjid Bandar in 1953 and now has four outlets all around Mumbai. They are famous for serving authentic Sindhi-Punjabi food even today. We recommend their Paneer Amritsari, Bhindi Masala, Sindhi Curry (served only on Tuesdays) Ghaska Maska Desi Ghee Chapati, Dal Fry, Chaas (served in beer bottles) and Moongdal Sira. If you are looking for Vegeterian catering services for an upcoming wedding or any family get-together, this could be perfect. [Landmark - near Masjid station. 3 other outlets at: Tardeo, Matunga and Vashi (APMC Market)]
Food is awesome! We ordered NB special Thali and the food is soo delicious. Dal and sabji tastes amazing. They serve hot chapatis which are very very soft. I really love the food here and definitely a place to revisit.
One of the best places to eat if you are a student. It is student friendly as you will get awesome and healthy food at cheap prices. We loved the food, we loved the menu and you can get proper Food (roti, sabzi, lassi, raita) A student out of town who wishes to have some food would love it here.
After having beef kabab from ruhani cafe in the evening felt uneasy n thought of a light meal. Read reviews got inside and ordered simple dal n roti. So this can't be a proper food review, but the dal was simple plain and perfect, the chapati was too good to be true, it was super soft and made up of atta, though the price of Rs 20 seemed to be high for a simple chapati, however taste some what justified it.
The seating facility is on two levels, it's a clean restaurant with good service and great quality food.
The menu available here on reviews is from ache din of the past but now the prices are way higher. So I am posting pictures of the latest menu along with what I ate.
Im so happy after eating here !!
Purees veg place with a limited but decent cover up of the obvious veg indian n street food options .
I tried the daal pakhwan , chilli cheese paratha and moong daal shira .
Damn all the dishes were fresh tasty and yum. Service was good and the pricing was also very reasonable.
Foodie tip; try the moong daal shira and thank me later !
Nanumal one of favourite veg restaurant. I have been visiting this place from 5 year's... Their Thali is awesome treat. Located in bhendi bazar area pure veg restaurant... Their are ground and upper floors both are nonac seating area.. enjoy your Thali...
My Rating is For Food Only because it's good. But the service is very late and staff are very lazy.
Nanumal Bhojraj Restaurants is quite famous for its food. I liked the thali system here. The quality and taste of the food is very good and the seating arrangement is also very good. This hotel is very near to Masjid station.
Eating here since child hood. The taste is just as it was 30 years ago.must visit place if you love veg food. Dal tadka is excellent. The NB special thali is best. You get dal tadka, Paneer makhanwala, dry fry, curd, four Roti's with Desi ghee, papad achaar and pulao with a tall glass of excellent chass and a piece of tastiest Gulab jamun I have ever eaten. Other dishes are also good. Malai kofta, mushroom etc are must try. A must visit place.
The food is good but be aware before ordering because they take your order of something else and they give you something else to make your bill high so before ordering speak with them very properly and also ask the proper dish name
This is a very small joint. It's been in existence since my childhood, and I am a very frequent visitor to this place.
The food and place is good but cannot call it classy.
Overall all dishes are good, but I particularly like the Karela and Lady finger.
A must visit for someone with a good taste whenever you are on this side of Mumbai.
good lassi nd also misal paw is very good
Good food price little bit high and atmosphere is low I think time to upgrade atmosphere overall experience is good 👍
One of the best ever for veg Thali.
The combination of taste and quality is unbeatable. Had food here 30 years and was looking for this place for long time.
It seems they are 70 years old. Visited in Feb 2023. Simply fantastic.
This is exactly what real Indian food is about, simple, affordable, authentic & really tasty! Staff is really helpful & friendly. Definitely check this place out if you’re around
Food was delicious.Oder NB SPECIAL THALI.Taste was awesome.Ambience and Service could be better.
The quality of food served here is so good....from the appearance it looks like a basic eatery but looks can b deceiving....give it a try , won't b disappointed, avoid the sweet dishes though and dry aaloo/bhendi is a must have
Good restaurant for vegetarians. You will get some sindhi food there. Like dal pakwan.
