I had received a little gift-box full of sweets from my friend, as I love sweets. All the sweets were awesome! I loved Chandu's BESAN LADDOO, KAJU KATLI and all kind of BARFIS.
Chadu Halwai @ Dadar East
I recently went to this place after being disappointmented by other sweet shops.
The kaju pista roll was soft and fresh.
They had lot of options and I was surprised to see airplane plane shaped cakes.
The rusgullas were also nice and tasty.
Chandu Halwai is a 120 year old establishment which serves some lip-smacking traditional Indian sweets, savouries & some bakery items. They have about 19 branches across Mumbai.
This outlet is located right in the heart of Dadar TT Circle and is a landmark by itself. By virtue of being located on one of the arterial roads of Mumbai, finding parking is quite a task here.
The shop has maintained its look since the last 15-20 years as far as I can remember. It does not boast of upmarket and elaborate interiors but does a very good job for which it opens shutters every morning; serving good food.
MUST HAVE;
Malai Sandwich
Dhodha Barfi [made from Walnuts]
Motichoor Ladoo
Rasmalai
Anjeer Katli
Chaina Toast
I have tried their bakery items as well and found them to quite good especially the Wheat Toast.
They sell a pretty decent Samosa but in a limited quantity but is not as famous and in-demand as the one which sells close-by through their competitors shop.
If you are in the vicinity, do drop and surely try their specialty, Bengali sweets.
I have never been to the shop but have surely tried its products in sahakari bhandar. there indian sweets are delicious, fresh and authentic. i personally didn't like the mousse. the jalebi is average, and the gulab jamuns are very perfect. the malai vala sweets are
A well known confectioner, famous for bengali sweets and famous esp for Mumbai halwa, other sweets are also good, a shop with typical look of an old sweet shop.
Must visit.
Rasmalai, Gilab jamuns, kala jamun etc and Bengali sweets are yuuummmm. Dhodha is available here. Limited snack variety. Ghee jalebis.......mmmm
Chandu halwai wala has superb sweets. Their mixed mithai box is a sweet sweet delight.
Recently bought modak for Ganpati Bappa ; superb taste and very delicious.
And not too costly and the shop is also decent looking with helpful staff.
Chandu Halwai
Decent sweets available, a better option in dadar east. Small, compact, air condotioned, clean & hygienic place. The people inside are friendly & the place offers a normal accustomed sweet shop ambience & decor. The prices range from economocal to justified. Parking can be an issue if traffic is at peak & people decide to mess around. Try their mortichoor laddoo & their home brand pre-packed products like toasts or gulab jamun.
Tip: have a sample before you buy, not everything might match your preference or suit your taste.
Good wiidddee variety of authentic sweets..perfect for all occasions and they will surely satisfy your sweet tooth
best halwai in the area....best quality sweets...speacially malai sandwich and mochak are best....the best mithais in dadar u can find
This place is very good for traditional sweets and snacks. If you are on budget and still wish to experience sweetness of rasagulla then this is the right place. In 20 rupees you can grab the mouthful of rasgulla sweetness. I found that the staff is polite too and they help you to choose snacks from their fresh stocked menu.
One of the oldest sweet shops in Mumbai. You can get all kinds of sweets here and the best part of they are made in ghee. It is a bit expensive but its worth the price and the taste and quality is top notch.
Being located at the crucial Dadar TT junction, this shop is always crowded, more so during festival season.
Kaju Katli was a delight and so were the Motichur laddoo. Enjoyed them. Neighbourhood couple who tasted the sweets were very happy with the taste.
Very clean and higenic place
Best Quality sweets
As good as it always was !
Staff is Supportive, Products are Tasty and entire environs is Hygienic.
You can buy almost any type of sweet from here.
It's very old shop in dadar
One of the oldest sweet shop in dadar. Costly prices of sweet. I bought it for my office Diwali sweets from here, taste was good but not so good as pricing but normal taste.
Good hygiene place. Location on Dadar TT circle.
Love the phir ki but the stock is very very limited . Going from Navi Mumbai and getting only 2bowls..Much disappointed
Incredible quality of Sweets and specially wide range of premium baked cookies by Tosita Bakery are an absolute choice of any customer!
Very old Sweets shop here in Dadar east ( Dadar TT ) area ..all kinds of sweets & good quality of namkins are available here . Bengali sweets too r worth buying fm this shop .. i always enjoy their MESOOR a lot very tasty not too much of ghee though made in puree ghee . Can store it for 15 days easily... If you vidit to Dadar TT side don't miss this shop..
One of the iconic brand for sweet meet and namkeens, name itself is brand name with trust. Can try all products as per need and occasion.
It is one of the most prominent sweets store having many branches. Sweets are just awesome.
Has a tradition of "mithai making". One of the oldest halwais in mumbai. Situated at a vantage spot near Khodadad circle but still lying in an inconspicuous nook, serving many varieties of traditional dishes.
Tried shuddha ghee wala jalebi ghewar,
balushahi and mohanthal.
Extremely mouthwatering.
Makes sweetened sutarpheni too. Yet to try it though.
Expensive all the things. Lots of varieties available in sweets. Namkins with different flavours also available. Some other items are available which you can have with tea, coffee etc. Cooperative staff. Fast service.
Excellent quality sweets and Namkeen.
The sweets are always fresh and made with the best quality of ingredients and mawa.
