Good place and staff is okay. I tried manchow soup and manchurian and fried rice noodles which were all okay . Ambience is okay and staff is also okay. The food was good.

Was at Opera House road to get accessories fixed for my friend's brand new car since morning. After getting all the work done it was 3pm and was damn hungry. We asked the locals about any good place for a nice stomach filling lunch and most of them suggested this place.
Got quite curious as to what all the talks were about and to our surprise this turned out to be a Malvan/Maharashtrian Lunch Home! Boy were we excited for our lunch that day.
We were welcomed by the owner of this hotel (apparently he seemed to have blue colored eyes!) who suggested us to have the 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙠𝙠𝙝𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞

The 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙠𝙠𝙝𝙖 was well cooked with its base of coconut marination and the taste was on point Malvan ! We hogged the dish with 4 chapatis each!
With more hungry kicking in we thought about what else to order and the blue eyed owner again suggested us the 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙋𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙫

The pulav had such a flavorful rice and good amount of chicken and was served with a gravy. This is a must have at this resto!
The ambiance was not much of an expectation as this place is strictly just for eating lunch/dinner. It gets your tummy filled with the best Malvan dishes around the area. Also I must say i ate quite alot under just 180rs.
All in all a pocket friendly place with delicious food!

Modern lunch is a tiny place with amazing food. It is pocket friendly with some really good seafood.
We had the surmai fry, egg biryani and prawn masala fry.
The biryani was spicy, the prawn masala was just delicious with tiny prawns (which gave it an even better taste). Surmai fry was tasty as well, not too oily

Modern lunch home is where you can eat you daily lunch its that good... Must try. they always have fresh fishes. You must try Pomfret and surmai there... And also bombil fry. Curries are the best part.
I always ordered food from here, especially if I want to eat nonveg food. This place is known for sea food. Whatever you order veg or non-veg, it is always tasty and value for money.
If you are real foodie and taste is really important factor then order food from here and they will never disappoint you.

The appearance based on which you are bound to judge the place for the first 10-15 minutes before your food arrives will not concern you when the food arrives. Visited this place on a Sunday night because it wasn't crowded which is a big plus. Surely, a must visit. I have tried the butter chicken and prawns masala which was too good for the price.

Simply beautiful. The small tables and restricted space fades away when the food arrives. Seafood is super fresh and spot on. Ordered bombil fry, bangda fry, prawns fry, surmai fry, fish curry with rice, neer dosa, mutton sukha !!! Can't wait to try each and every seafood item on that menu - Next Time! Even the Indian chinese looked like legit club chinese 😂

I stay near this restaurant. But, despite living there for so many years I had never dared to go here. But, one of my teachers told me about the restaurant. She insisted that I should try their butter chicken. So one day, I took the parcel. And, trust me, it was superb. One of the best butter chicken I have ever had. Now, if my parents go out, I take their butter chicken and roti parcel.
I have also tried their chicken masala. It's different than what you get anywhere else. These guys make it in Mangalorian style which is pretty lovely.
I haven't tried, but I have heard that their fish ghassi and appam (or if steamed rice) are very tasty. I would definitely try that one day.
The only thing that I didn't like was chicken tandoori. I mean the taste was really good. But, it was very small. No soul satisfying.
Definitely a pocket friendly, but a worth visiting place.
The best food in Mumbai so far. Seriously do not ever judge a restaurant by how it looks. The portion is good and the quality is good and lord it's very very affordable. It's my favorite place. Love love love it!

This is the most quaint and plain eatery I have seen. Situated nearby Girgaum Church right on the main road. They have/are famous for Malvani Cuisine.
Ordered a Bombil fry, Prawn Masala, full Biriyani Rice and a plain rice for two people.
Fish was well done. The quantity is good enough for the price. Taste, very satisfying.

This is what we call as chhota packet bada dhamaka! Don't judge the restaurent by it's Looks! Coz the food is goin to sweep u away! A wide eange of Konkani delicacies ! Ranging from sukha chicken, to kori roti, rawas masala! Exceptional taste nd dirt cheap! Must try this place once!
Just opp girgaon church is modern restaurant famous for malvani cuisine, best non veg thali, paplet, bombil and surmai fry also fish curry of the same is served here
I happen to be in this hotel when i left from my office and was quite bugged up to daily dose (Bhaji-Poli-Waran-Bhaat) xD ;)

I first ordered for Surmaai (As i am deep lover of fish), I ordered for "wOnly" Surmaai Masala, and that was really a big one... mY moUth was CoMpletely drooling as soon as he placed my order.
I saw celestial broadway in that surmaai, spicy and drooling xD
Then came upon then Paplet masala... I was totally smacked in heaven xD. Fish has always been attracting me in all the possible ways. And so do this :) :D
Then ordered for my Closing ceremony "Chicken Biryani" ... was good, and the presence of gravy and those indian spices summed up the beauty...

Butter chicken and Tandoor roti best in this locality. Just quantity should be increased as per the price you are taking and solkadhi was good but taste of solkadhi is changed.
Delicious Sea Food and Awesome varieties of Crab, Surmai, Pomfret And Prawns. Chicken Mutton and Egg dishes are also available. Place is small with limited seating capacity but food is very good. Rates are reasonable.

The Best Of mumbai ..for mangalorian food...seafood speciality
This place deserves 10 star like seriously guys I am not exaggerating I went to Mumbai for a week and I stayed in near hotel I read about this resturant on travel advisor and thought of giving it a try. Boy , I was in for a great surprise the prices were so cheap the quality of food so good , quick service , very clean area( Don't let the looks fool you , the place maybe a bit congested but the service is great ). I ordered the veg thali , it had two big rotis (actually it was maybe plain naan), two type of sabzi ( aloo matar , chole) ,rice , daal, papad , yogurt , beetroot something idk and a pink raita maybe . It was delicious . I ended up eating there for a week three times a day (Btw the veg thali was just 150 rupees yes 150 you read it right; all the items for just 150 )
Small place. Easy to locate. Not Expensive. Thali system. Fast Service. Freshly prepared Neer Dosa available. Quantity was sufficient. Staff is very polite and helpful. Manglorian style food.

Was travelling to Ahmedabad from Mumbai central station. Modern lunch home is walking distance from the station. Fantastic sea food. Had pomfret thali. Quite economical, neat and clean lunch home. Awesome taste. Just the way we get when we visit coastal Konkan region. Fish was fresh and tasty. Similar to what we eat at Alibaug, or Dabhol, Harne or any other beach resort. Really enjoyed the Solkhadi.
Best ever sea food and non-veg I had eaten in any hotel. This hotel my first choice to have a lunch, if I didn't bring tiffin at work.
