Great food. Have their specials everyday. Good for fish lovers. Good options in seafood. Drinks are pocket friendly. Bit cosy place but overall good.
Step In restaurant and bar is located in mahim nearby Paradise Cinema. It is one of the best resto bar in your area.Best part is that drinks and appetizers are available at resonable price as compared to other bar.Step In is fully air conditionered resto bar with ample of seating arrangement. It is also has basement and as well as outdoor seating. Cheese Butter Garlic Bread is one of most delicious food which we order everytime and its highly recommended
Step in is Pocket friendly restaurant and bar. Rates of food and drinks are reasonable. They have outside seating and inside seating arrangement. This restaurant is not family friendly. Must try bombil fry, bombil chilly and chicken crispy.
This newly renovated bar is hidden gem of mahim drinks and food here are very reasonable and has quiet good sitting place it is usually filled with locals. Talking about food I love to have sea food here which is super reasonable in price and has great taste whenever I visit this place I have maklya chilly
Step In Family Restaurant is an awesome place to have booze with amazing food. To my surprise here sea food is top notch too. Also, Chinese cuisine is good here. They serve some amazing complementary dishes if you get booze. They have amazing offers which are worth a try.
Superb Place for cheap Drinks and food.. Food is amazing.Be it Kebabs or Sea Food it's superb. Only thing is you need to be damn early to get a table or you will end up waiting for long..
Want to spend quality time with your friend's this place is perfect. Food is delicious which looks good on the side of your booze. Place is bit crowded but worth waiting.
A very good place to have drinks the ambience here is pleasent the starters here are tasty ....especially crispy chicken and chicken tikka .. The staff is also friendly...
If you want booze and enjoy great food this is a place be they never forget to add amazing offers on thier menu or surprise with complimentary dishes which makes this place always crowded and is usually full with the localities
But if you ever visit this place never forget to try out their seafood menu
It's a good place to chill with your clan on a weekday. It's pretty pocket friendly. The ambience is also okay.
Chicken Tikka masala was juicy chicken with well spiced gravy. Chicken Crispy had good quantity Chicken fried away with spices. Bombil fry was a yummy starter as well.
This place is located in Mahim. This place is always crowded at week ends. I like to eat the Chicken noodles here. I also like to eat fish fry here.
Everything is good...food is tasty also rates are cheaper than any other restro... juz advice is there should be a different rate card with low rates for those people who seats at outside area as there is no AC available.
Amazing food and a good place to hang out with friends..Not a family friendly place but really amazing if you want to have alcohol with friends.I would recommend to try butter garlic prawns.
Quite busy place .We are accepting this is family restaurant but not .Too Mach local craoud going there .Food was good . According to service bad service.
Located in Mahim opp paradise cinema this is one of the oldest bar which has recently renovated. Not so big place it gets crowded especially on weekends.Very cute and cozy ambiance. All the dishes were very good and with good quality and quantity.Coming to the service very kind and quick staff.Overall value for money place. And yes they are open till midnight
So if you are looking for pocket friendly place to chill near Mahim den dont miss this...Cheers guys..:)
Step in Bar and Restaurant is opposite to Paradise cinema in Mahim. It's a family bar and restaurant with a decent ambience. Being here for the first time after constantly passing through this place and which looks good from the out as well. They have a separate section for family underground types. We had a food fiesta there where we ordered Rawas fish tandoori fry, Bombil rawa tawa fry and tiger prawns tandoori fry. The taste was too good with the regular red wine. As well the cost were pretty decent for 3 people as we were. Food is really good specially the Rawas tandoori fry. Just amazing. Would be good if they had a music background which would just light ones mood on a Friday night. Overall Paisa vasool place.
One of the best late night eats I have been too in bombay. Ideally priced food and liquour. Service is quite good too. Though the variety decreases with time i.e. You won't get everything on the menu if you go on like 1 30 in the night.... But food is very tasty specially if you are high :p
A decent hotel to visit.good food nice ambience, all over a good hotel was glad to celebrate my new year eve at this place !was open til late night.
Let's begin with the primary requirements of a bar. Booze is reasonably priced with newly introduced nip(quarter) system which is very reasonably priced at 500/-(Signature) which comes to 167 per peg. Considering the ambience and the location its cheap. Free bitings include cheezlings. Food is very tasty both chinese and indian. The restaurant is very cozy where you feel happy for not getting loud crowd nor any waiting. Tandoor items are good for starters with burnt red chicken in addition. You order Agni kind of dish and you won't be let down. Ketan- the manager ensure personal attention to your like and dislikes and is prompt to help you with suggestions. At times is also ready to provide an alternate dish free of cost in case you don't like any item. Mostly recommended for people liking cozy and relaxed atmosphere for having booze with family and friends
Food- 4/5 must try banjara kabab, white tadoori chicken
Ambience- 3/5 cute lilttle fine dine place
Service -quick
Recommend !!
It's a bit of a hidden gem, yes, but it's almost bit of a hit-or-miss and for the relatively inexpensive real estate in Mahim, the prices at Step In are kinda high.
It's not too far from my place but I've never eaten there. Always ordered in.
The banjara chicken is a specialty and it was very good on one occasion, good on another, and meh on a third. But when it was good, it was very good.
The chicken biryani is good if you like the somewhat greasy, oily version of the dish. Then it's very good. Reasonable portion too.
Some of the other kababs and mains keep up or exceed the avg.
I've yet to order from their weekend specials...and intend to do that soon, like their kundan kalia and nalli nihari. Also their seekh kababs.
Kakori House next door is tough competition for the kababs and Lazeez Express for the biryani.
Food is great! Kababs are exceptionally good. Worth trying - Kali Mirch Kababs. Only drawback is the menu is limited. Place is comfortable and open till 1 AM.
A great find, all thanks to Zomato.com
Hunger led us to search on Zomato and we were impressed by the positive reviews!! So in we trooped to Step Lin to find it almost empty and that too at 9.30 on a Saturday night.....this got us a bit worried!! But the food assured all our worries.....a finger licking dish of Chicken Banjara Kebabs was the highlight of our evening. We followed it up with a Chicken Biryani which was its money's worth!! All in all, a do-visit if you are in the vicinity.
Amazing Butter Chicken & Kurkuri Bindi! Amazing mughaliya food.
It’s possible Step-in is hard done by its location. It’s not exactly located on the main road and one has to get into a lane opposite Paradise Cinema to get there.
They serve spirits and cocktails and their bloody mary was good approximation of the real thing.
Went for their bespoke Banjara Kebabs which were delicately made but yet I didn’t find them outstanding (most people appreciate the nutty after taste of groundnuts but sadly I wasn’t one of them).
Their achari prawns were medium sized but brilliantly flavoured. Their murg biryani was very well balanced and wasn’t too oily either.
I was keen on trying their Lal Maas but it wasn’t available that day.
Need to get back for their Lal Maas and Kundan Kalia.
This Place took me by Surprise.
Being an Avid Non Veg lover, this restaurant is the place to be!!!
The Sheekh kebab. Boti Kebab is lip Smacking
Main Course a must try- Lal Maas.......
Don't be fooled by the name, because once you step iin (pun intended) to this gem of a restaurant, you will be transported into the wonderful world of Awadhi cuisine.
We started our meal with the delicious Paya soup, starkly different in taste than its Mughlai version. Palak soup was sublime.
On the appetizers front, the Kurkuri Bhindi were a pleasant surprise. We tried Makrana Tangdi, by far the best tangdi kebabs we've had till date. Nalli Barra was luscious. Mutton Seekh Kebabs were cooked to perfection.
For the main course, our decision to go with Murg Matka was spot on. Although, Kundan Kalia could be spiced up a little.
Normally, when most of the menu is meat based, the vegetarian dishes are often found lacking. Not in this case though, because the Veg. Kadhai that we tried was outstanding, and so was Dal Tadka.
Do not forget to try the Chura Parathas. They go amazingly well with the main course dishes.
We ended our meal with Phirni and Malai Kulfi, both of which were delightful..
All in all, it was one of our best gastronomic outings in recent times.
consistent quality of starters since the last one year. all the chicken starters are really good and worth trying. try the black daal over there. service and ambiance are also good.
Really nice ambience, amazing food, very good service. Go for "makrana tangdi wid finger licking green chutney" n don't forget to have "phirni" in dessert... N thank you Mr. Rohit for suggesting such dishes.
A very nice place for Mugalai Food best in the menu Rogan Josh &. Tandoori
Good service
Good food
Happy hrs till 9
Play English music, currently play Pink Floyd - welcome to the machine.
Well get ur buddy's even ur gf chill out place to hangout.
Great place to eat. We had the Tamatar Pudina shorba and Aloo ke guthke....... simply delicious. Great service too. Must check out place for everyone.
Gr8 food n drinks...Amazing restaurant , kind staff, gr8 management. .
Great food , the jhumeli kababs is a great signature dish ..highly recommended
I strongly recommend you guys to visit step iin for its veg and non veg signature delicacies which include chicken jhumeli kebabs, chicken makrana kebabs, palak soup, paneer lababdar, rumali rotis, laccha parathas and biriyanis. A perfect combination of good food and booze. One of the best family fine dine out in the area..
Well even if it's in quite shady place, the food over here is kick ass ;) and their speciality is chicken jumeli kebab, It's just too awesome and other stuff like biryani and stuff is also good and the ambience is good and their service is amazing .. Definitely a place you would like to chill with friends or to go on a date ..
Excellent service makes a big difference.
I've only ordered from here once and I'm very satisfied with Step Iin.
Found this place via Zomato while looking for a restaurant that delivers post 12:30am
The guy on the phone was extremely polite and guided me throughout the whole ordering process. I finally picked up the chicken tikka roll.
The roll was delivered in less than 15 minutes and the delivery chap brought exact change.
The food was tasty and we'll served sand packed.
All in all im very satisfied with this place
Visited stepp inn last week with couple of friends as this was our first visit to this place suggested by one of my close friends . Ambience of the restaurant is very good its very soothing and you would like to spend quality time in stepp inn . I will definitely give 5/5 for the ambience. About the food beginning with the starters we ordered veg aaloo ke gutke paneer lasooni tikka both the items were superb . Even the staff is very polite and they will give proper suggestion for eg we tried banjara kabab suggested by them and it was very very good . Other items which we have tried and would also suggest others to try are mutton seekh kabab , makrana tangdi and bhatti prawns . Will definitely give 4.5/5 for the food . Music is good will not hammer you quite soothing to ear.
Staff is polite and well behaved , good to place to hang out with friends and also a perfect place to enjoy with your family .
If you read nothing further, make sure you take note of the MUTTON SHEEKH KABAB and CHICKEN BANJARA KABAB!
While chilling at a friend’s house in Shivaji Park an evening over the weekend, the usual question of dinner-sourcing popped up. After mentally and virtually touring the south-central region of Mumbai in looking for a restaurant (How about Noorani... no man eaten too much from there, We cud ask Akshay to get from Koyla.... no man their food is dry, etc) , the name of Step-Iin was casually suggested by one of my friends at the gathering and I noticed the immediate and unanimous agreement amongst the few who had heard about or eaten from this joint. We went ahead and ordered the kabab platter and a KG of biriyani.
The food arrived promptly and at optimal temperatures. Being hungry, I made a dash for the kababs while another friend attacked the biriyani. As soon as the lid of the biriyani container was lifted, the kitchen filled up with a strong, sensual, moghlai aroma that only fine biriyani spices can emit. Of course nothing like our famous Lucknowi-styled biriyani available in Kolkata, but infinitely better than any of the curried-pulao hybrids that are passed off as biriyani in these parts of the country. Once I was able to overcome the biriyani whiff, I popped a piece of the mutton sheekh into my mouth before proceeding to formally lay out the pieces on a plate with the pudina chutney and onions on the side. A nugget sized piece, after the first bite it was apparent to me that the pudina chutney and onions on the side would be unnecessary, thus amply demonstrating how delicious these small balls of mutton sheekh were and how they made me forget all forms of civil decorum. Tender, non-smelly (cooked mutton is famous for its BO), tiny nuggets of mutton, marinated with minimal spices (not overpowering the taste of the meat), grilled delightfully while ensuring the retention of the soft and juicy texture of the meat, all adding up to create a delightful blend of meat, spices and grilling. Simply couldn’t believe the deliciousness of this dish. The mesmerizing effects of the kabab ensured that I popped 3 nuggets in quick succession, before the rest of my senses began returning; at which time I noticed the other kababs served in the platter. My next attempt was the Banjara Kabab, another sheer delight that words may not do justice to. Again, excellent pieces of chicken, well marinated in the “Banjara” mix and grilled delightfully to create a mouthwatering experience, leaving a peanut-y aftertaste (very similar to the peanut-y aftertaste of a KungPao dish). What IS Step Iin, I wondered aloud after having my fill of these 2 kababs (or being rudely made to realize that there were others waiting for a bite too), I ventured into the other 2 types of kababs, the malai and one other. I can’t say for certain if the mutton sheek and Banjara overshadowed the other 2 kababs in the platter, or of if the other 2 just weren’t as good as the previous 2. The other 2 tasted more “normal” but in any event were vastly superior than the kababs available at any run-of-the-mill store in the Bay. Unlike the kababs available at any run-of-the-mill store, they were not under-marinated and rushed through the grilling/roasted process to create tasteless, usually cold, lumps of rubbery chicken. On the strength of this platter alone, Step-Iin has found a loyal customer in me. So much so that I started harassing my friend to connect me to the owner.
The biriyani was left for dinner time, later in the night. Having already got a whiff of it, had been looking forward to it for all evening. Was accompanied by complimentary raita and finished off a surprisingly memorable dinner. At ~250 bucks a plate of biriyani and 900 bucks for the platter, the place borders on the “reasonable-expensive” divide.
Haven’t visited Step-Iin the restaurant yet, although have been assured that the restaurant appropriately complements the food. As I’ve been told, without being fancy or OTT, the restaurant offers a minimal, albeit cramped dining space but allows you to wash down the great food with some fine liquor. I will be Step(ping)-IIN soon to try out the Nalli and lasooni fish, both of which are also very highly recommended.
Visited Step Iin for the first time a couple of months ago with colleagues & went back a couple of times with family & friends. i liked the place very much. Ambience is just right, nothing over the top, which gives it a very nice feel. Music is soft. Staff is not overbearing & service is quick. Food is super! Mutton seekh kebab is a must try for mutton lovers. Makrana tangdi & the garlic prawns were tops. Hoping to go back soon for nalli nihari! It also has nostalgic value for Mahim residents and a very friendly management!
Good food... Service. Surely a place to step iin. Well done guys
Located in the lane opposite Paradise Cinema at Mahim, was our watering hole “STEP-IN”. It used to be typical quarter joint bar with dim lights.
A get-together of old friends last week brought us to the same place again. But viola, it has now transformed into a swanky fine-dine place. Rupesh, the manager greeted us with his trademark smile, complaining that we were away for a long time.
Ambience: 3.5/5
The interior is now a combination of green and off-white with soft lights and nice soft seating. The place was full when we entered. There was a group of lawyers celebrating and a birthday party was also in progress.
Food: 3.5/5
The first round of beers arrived with the regular accompaniments. We ordered for the following:
1] Kurkuri Bhindi – Crisp fried bhindi with salt and spices sprinkled over it. Good dish.
2] Aloo ke Gutke – Potatoes coated with a spicy mixture, roasted in a tandoor and stuffed with fresh grated paneer. Very good dish, a must try.
3] Paneer Chilly – This was a confusing dish for me personally. It was sweet-spicy in taste, the gravy was sweet at times and the next portion was fiery spicy. Could not make out what taste the chef wanted to retain or convey.
4] Prawns Koliwada – Prawns were fresh and nicely fried.
5] Chicken Reshmi Kebad – Fresh and nicely marinated chicken
6] Dal Khichdi – This remains a favourite here for so many years now. The only difference being that the chef had added a few mint leaves to the topping and had been a little generous with the green chillies. Very nice, must try.
7] Butter Chicken – Nicely done with a good flavour
They don’t serve Chinese cuisine anymore, only Indian cuisine.
Service: 4/5
Service was good, fast and without a miss. Orders were taken, double checked and confirmed. We were asked if the order could be served. Good standards of service.
Price: 3.5/5
The prices have gone up from its previous avatar but it’s still not very expensive.
Overall: 3.6/5
It has transformed and re-positioned itself as a decent fine dine restaurant. It has vastly improved its menu with a variety of offerings. There are a few specialities like Nalli Nihari which are available on certain days. It is a good place to go in its locality given the paucity of good restaurants [that serve alcohol] there.
Step iin a good place of food .here is good food veg&nonveg .here u can try weekend food nalli nihari & lalmash ,kundan kaliya yummy food .I like this food I am very happy to stepiin hotel.here ,service very fast and good.I want give full rate .
Food was awesome ,we all loved it mainly starters!!!!
Once Step inn you will never Step Out due to its delicious food, excellent service & hospitality of the staff.
Amaizing Food At Reasonable Rates
"Step-In" - the bar has been transformed into "Step Iin" - the family restaurant, and boy! it's a huge makeover :)
Ambience: Nice & cozy, yet the tables are spacious. Also, a very unique music selection. While hogging on the Nalli Nihari I got to hear everything from Dark Side Of The Moon to Two Steps Behind! Strange, as you except such music in a Hard Rock Cafe or NJJBTB - but I shall call it a pleasant surprise :)
Food: Delicious, absolutely delicious!!
MUST TRY: Murg Shorba, Nalli Nihari & Chura Paratha :)
Service: Attentive, but not intrusive. The owner's around too, and receptive to suggestions. Also, when we complained of the quality of the meat in our Chicken Biryani, we were promptly offered a complimentary Phirni! #win
All in all, a great option for Indian/Mughlai food especially in Central Mumbai!
food was osam , and nali nihari is out of the world, i dont like spice food and this was really best and mouthwatering food,
delicacies that u will not find in other restaurants...quality of food is excellent..good service too!!..great experience!!
This is family run restaurant and bar in Mahim, this place will grow in to you and eventually there will be bond . All the food lovers this is a must to visit. Ambiance is nice and staff is very warm. Last time when I visit the owner/manger Rohit took very good care of us by suggesting few best dishes cooked in the kitchen.
With wide variate in spirit to choose from one can divulge in to foreign or IMF liqueurs accordance there choice and taste. I settled with gin tonic where in my friend preferred beer, we tried some excellent barra kabab and all time favorite sikh kabab, meat was succulent and juicy with right spices. In main course Rohit suggested nalli nihari and lal mas , we ordered both with rotis, to my surprise nalli nihari was very authentic and gave the taste bud nostalgia of hyderabad ...
I have been here at least 5-6 times and in love with this place , food is too good and rates are very good. As this place is in dadar one can find actors like Ankush Choudhary and others in frequent flyer mode.
This is a must to go...
I tried 'Aloo ke Guthke' and 'Murg Lemon Garlic Tikka'... It was awesome... Nice and cool Ambience
Truely amazing food and a lovely warm ambience. A new place with different delicacies. Must try !
Fabulous ambiance along with variety in Awadhi and North Indian food.
Laal Maas was a surprise. The kebabs were also melting in the mouth. must visit.
On the main streets this outlet serves hard drinks and food to match your mood.
Prior reservation would be recommended as weekends are totally busy over here.
Small place but good ambience, specially for people who like drinking.
Your gang will have a great time here for sure, live screening and good music is what you can expect at this place.
Food is very delicious of malvani style & awesome atmosphere ,nice restaurant for family dining
This place is hygienic and the service is really good. Not crowded great music tasty food but expensive but it was worth. Welcoming staff.
The food was awesome. The surmai and pomfret were delicious. The prawns and bombil fry were crunchy on the outside and soft inside. It was refreshing to down it with solkadi. Worth visiting every month for lunch or dinner.
Good MRP rate booze, a bit expensive on the food side, fun place to chill
Cheap place for drinks if you go in happy hour timings... Food is a bit expensive
Nice place to dine it with your famliy and friends
Good taste and large varieties of food
And yes low cost for alcohol
Good interior .. happy hours and nice staff. Just opposite Chatrapati shivaji park.
Great food, both Veg as well as non Veg. Also, a
pleasant secluded area for a group of 10-15 to hang out at.
Enjoyed a good Saturday lunch. Fried mackerel thali and mushroom masala with naan. The place was crowded with waiting too.
Best place visited on women's day and gave us free shots that was worth trying place!!
Location is good..on a pick place..front of shivaji park...roadside..can traced easily...about cafe..gooood place for couple..clg frnds...too cozy !!
Well the name is no more Re-Union.
It's now called Masoli.
Excellent preparation in terms of the Mutton gravy. Lip smacking. But the quality of mutton wasn't up to the mark.
This place is not less than a treasure!! The ambience is kinda shady, which for me was a delight. The food(non veg) was amazing and drinks were even more amazing as they were cheaper. They keep playing the music on loop and service, I would rate it 3.5
Wanna booze with friends, must go here. Its located in the heart of Dadar and easy to locate.
