Gomantak : Absolutely amazing place to eat seafood. ๐คฉ
I specially heard lot of good reviews about the amazing old restaurant and hence decided to come all the way to Dadar to checkout their good items.
It was delicious and worth every penny!!!!
Tried their thalis:
Surmai thali, prawns thali, pomfret thali, veg pulav, kombadi wade, chicken curry and the bestest was Crabs lollipop.
โญโญโญโญโญ For overall experience.
Must try their thalis and crab lollipops. The quantity they serve is the best. I went their with friends and it wasn't easy to get seats as it's always crowded (which was expected coz it's worthwhile).
Highly recommended to try out at Gomantak!!!
One word that would suffice my experience: Ek number ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Never disappoints me. Consistently serving great seafood from ages. Authentic marathi seafood. Surmai and Pomfret are my personal favorites.
Very Tasty Food, Full mouth watering ๐ฏ

Food Quality is marvelous
This place is well know for its Konkani sea food. It is one those places in Dadar I have never seen Empty from evening till late night. It's really difficult to get a table soon here. But the staff was really helpful and offered us a seating in their behind section. The kitchen is the same thought. We ordered nonveg thali full of nonveg dishes starting from prawn curry, fish curry, fish fry to crab. Solkadhi can get better.
Loved the food. Order was served quickly which helped me to finish during my office lunch break. ๐๐ค Prawns curry is too good to go for it.
Seating arrangement is very well managed in small area.. also clean & neat. ๐
Situated Dadar there is always a wait A/C or Non A/C well good things don't come easy
Ordered Pomphret Thali and Shakhari Thali
Pomphret was delicious and the curry mind blowing 5/5
Veg thali the suran patatoe sabji was lip smackingly delicious 5/5

This place is well known in Dadar located opposite to Star Mall. This Restaurant is famous for it's Malwani Dishes. Especially Surmai Thali, Crab Thali, Chicken and Mutton Thai, Pomfret Thali and Shell Fish Thali. I like each n every dish of this Restau. So people who didn't get here till now, you have to go!!..

Go give yourself a Fishy treat! and that which cannot be easily forgotten. It goes deep down the memory lane, looking for a quick next time visit. It's a healthy protein rich world ๐โ๐
I have been to this restaurant for like a million times now and the best dish to find here is obviously the sea food!!
My personal favourite is the GOAN CHICKEN CHILLY THALI and BOMBIL FRY.
The thali comes with 2 options either with vade or bhakri.. I prefer the chicken with vade. Along with some dry jawla and one curry for the rice. The thali also has Sol Kadi... Which is a go to thing if you're having malwani food.. yummy and delicious chicken along with a soothing Sol Kadi..
The bombil fry has a super crunchy outside and a yummy soft fish flesh inside. A very comforting side dish.
Apart from this.. the mutton here is also very good and the surmai thali..
I am not a massive fan of the seating here. It is very conjusted and very compact.
The staff is also not very attentive. Plus they neglect a lot.
Its an average restaurant with yummy food. Do give it a try if you want to have yummy malwani food.
Quite a famous place for sea food, located in Dadar west. The food was as good as it was expected. Delicious sea foods. Dotry out their fried options. We didnt have thali instead went for individual items. Solkadi tasted delicious too.
Very good testy and clear food
so we ordered two dishes, just to try fish and chicken both, so the fish was well cooked and with that kokani touch of rawa fried fish and we want to try everything so we ordered thali, the other thali was chicken wade thali, thats the speciality in marathi house, so that is a must try and ofcourse if anyone is visiting this place so fish is a must try in gomantak, and fish is like we cooked in home, so anyone is having fish craving, or just to enjoy non veg food in dadar, so gomantak is the perfect place, and solekadi is the perfect ending for any fishfood.
It's no doubt a legendary seafood place. It takes a lot to keep your brand name shining for so many years. My parents loved it, we love it and now our much younger siblings love it too. I think it says a lot about Gomantak as a trustworthy and widely liked brand.
Opening hours are 11.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m and then 3.30 p.m to 11.30 p.m. Timing on Google Maps is incorrect.
We ordered Surmai Khali, Vada Saguti Thali (Chicken in Malvani style), Prawns sukkha, Kombdi vada plate, Amboli, Fish fingers and Solkadhi. We loved every bit of it. If one had a look at our plates, there was not a single morsel left. I recommend this place to every foodie who wants to taste authentic Malvani Sea Food.
I had to pay in cash since we were told that we would have had to wait for card payment. It seemed that they preferred cash payment. Also, the eatery opened bit late. It was bit disappointing for 50 other hungry souls like me waiting in a line. Thus, the rating.
If you are in Mumbai, and if you happen to be in Dadar area within the timing mentioned above, please do visit this place. You won't regret it, that much I can promise! ๐

Best place for seafood in Mumbai. Loved their bombil fry thaali and pomfret rawa fry. Divine taste and very reasonable. Prawns masala were good too. Humongous quantity. Very difficult to finish. But i have never tasted so good seafood. Their vade & mutton is also popular. Perfect for malwani meal
Only if there were 10 * to give. Supra delicious is what's the word. Genuine food quality, fresh sea food and authentic Konkani taste. Surmai thali fry, prawns fry, solkadhi and stuffed pomfret... My regular order 50 or more times that I have been . True sea food lover gives them full points for food.

Normally we ordered non veg thali because of shravan we ordered veg thali we got two vegetables chapati or wada any one options available rice, sonkadhi two type sabzi and dal nd papad. Quantity was two good same quality and reasonable Price food.
If you are fan of Thali Food Hope in this restaurant ๐ฏ
This place is always crowded no mater what time you go and its been like this for so many years. They've always maintained that good malwani food taste. Ordered chicken thali, mutton thali, prawns sukkha and paneer bhurji. Mutton thali with their bhakris combination tasted so good. Prawns sukha was another good dish which was perfect. Though this place serves some good non veg food it also has good options in veg. Ordered paneer bhurji with some bhakris and it didn't disappoint at all. Overall a good place to eat some tasty nonveg food.
Rating :-
Chicken thali - 4/5
Mutton thali - 4.5/5
Prawns sukkha - 4/5
Bhakris and vades - 4.5/5

Really awesome food to eat.If you are a fish lover then you muat visit
Went to Gomantak Restaurant in Dadar west. The Name comes from a Konkani speaking community from the state of Maharashtra. They are one of the best places in town to have Sea Food.
What we had:
Finger Fish:
Extremely yummy. Ended up ordering it one more time.
Prawns fry:
Even this was so good. Perfectly crispy too
Kombdi wade & chicken & prawns masala
The masalas have the authentic konkani favours & can be bliss for any sea food lovers.
Solkadi & Caramel Custard:
The solkadi was chilled & tatsed food. Caramel cuatard was decent.
Wanted to visit this place from long time..... so today we visited to have some malwani food.. we had ordered Chicken sukha thali and Pomfret Thali ..... fish thali was really yummy in taste....I loved the Pomfret thali ...good food with good presentation...we will visit soon....
The legacy still remains. Finally after number of inputs from friends, blogs etc and my own craving for seafood landed me at this place. The excitement to visit it was such that I was first person in the queue on Sunday evening! And it was totally worth it! The photos I uploaded reveals it all. Every dish u taste is mouth watering. Do visit it atleast once if you are in dadar else u will have the penance of not visiting it early.

Every person staying in Dadar has been to this place once. You go here for lunch or dinner, you have to wait. It is crowded almost everyday but its worth waiting. They serve probably the best thalis in Mumbai. The sea food is just top notch. The ambiance is average. The staff is average too and sometimes rude on the people waiting. You should definitely visit here if you are craving for sea food.
I hv grownup in Dadar West n visited this place so many times. Tasty n delicious food with Normal pricing.. famous place since so many years
I orderes a prawns rice from here!
It was a home delivery with a great home taste and desi kind of food!
But i have tried out thalis from the outlet with a great qauntity and best quality!
If you dont wanna cook home and though you want to eat something which tastes like home food i would recommend you this restaurant as it is awesome!
My favorite place for authentic seafood konkan style. My personal favorite is surmai thali and prawns fry thali. I recommend this place for family and friends.
Want authentic kokani style seafood?
Search ends here.
The ambience is simple but the seafood is fresh and spot on.
Lunch hours generally see long queues but it is definitely worth the wait!
Must visit for seafood lovers
Perfect place to eat typical Malvani food.
We ordered different types of thalis like chicken, fish etc.taste was awesome.everything was fresh.
CHEAP . BEST . FILLING .
I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE SINCE CHILDHOOD.
AND THIS PLACE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN .
*FOOD LIKE GOA IN MUMBAI*
They recently introduced crab lollipops and fish fingers and they were mouthwatering .
We ordered
โ Surmai Thali
โ Shellfish Thali
โMutton Thali
And i must say , every thali was super delicious.
I give this place a 5/5 rating for the food , service and rate.
From the inside or outside you'd feel this place is simple and cozy, but the minute you have their food you know for a fact that you've hit the jackpot. On the wishlist of all my friends including Maharashtrians, I knew there was no way I wanted to miss visiting Gomantak and here we were on a busy Saturday evening ordering our favourites without an ounce of guilt or regret.
Surmai Thali: I was skeptical at first whether the Surmai (Kingfish) would do justice to the price and the size of it would even be half the size of an average palm, but lo behold, it was every bit amazing. The catch was fresh and the semolina coating made it super crunchy and delicious. Served with Sol Kadhi and Fish Gravy it was living a dream. The Sol Kadhi however was slightly bitter, but the overall thali made up for it. Served with Jowar Bhakri (you do have the option of opting for Rice Bhakri or plain steam rice) along with chutney. One thali one person and you have surely blessed your tummy with the best. (5/5)
Shellfish Thali: Another stunner in the making. Served exactly like the Surmai Thali, the shellfish we opted for was Masala shellfish and I've got to admit it was mind-blowing. We licked the bowl dry. The Sol Kadhi for this one though was definitely a notch up and that is why we could let go of the one with the Surmai Thali *smiling cheekily (5/5)
This place should be on every seafood lover's wishlist because it is that good. Restaurants have come and gone, but this one has stood the test of time. And I'm sure I'd be heading back to it sometime very soon to indulge in some more fishy food. Until then Bon Appรฉtit fellow foodies.
This place is very famous in Dadar far from station but easy to locate. They serves authentic Malvani food. Pocket friendly. They offer varieties in thalis. So u can definitely order that. You will not get oily food here.
Think about eating fish, and the first place people around would recommend is definitely Gomantak. Situated in Dadar, this place has a wide offering of all kinds of authentic Maharashtrian fish dishes.
Definitely worth a try if you want to saviour a fish thali or order fish/chicken separately. Their 'Solkadhi', 'Pomphret Fry', 'Prawns Masala' is definitely worth a try.
If you were to ask me what is my last wish, it definitely is eating a fish thali along with the unbeatable Sol kadi in Gomantak. One of the finest yet simplest restaurants out there.
Very old and famous seafood restaurant in dadar. You have to stand in queue to get in especially on weekends. You get all types of thalis and sea food here speciality being the fish curry and fish fry. I loved the solkadi here it's very tangy and they had tempered it making it taste awesome after the lovely sea food dishes.. I was almost intoxicated and went into food induced coma .
The right place to have a sumptuous maharashtrian meal. Their Thali in chicken/mutton/sea food consisted of a concise list of just 5 items, the bread, the rice, main dish (gravy or fry) another gravy and solkadi. Though the items are limited the food is wholesome. Itโs most times super crowded during meal hours, next to impossible to jump the huge queue. There are two restaurants, one non AC right on the main road and AC, behind in another lane. However the kitchen is same .
Good food at cheaper price. Hygiene maintained. Taste of food was good. Loved crab lollipop very much. Reached this restaurant at around 7:30 as otherwise there is a long queue waiting outside the restaurant coz itโs popular. So in order to avoid queue reaching early on time is needed.
Sea food carving go there the have best sea food that u can have it cost is also good and taste is awesome the cury are also point off attraction for all so go enjoy your meal
This is my personal favorite place...As i m a seafood lover..
We usually take parcels or something we had there also..I have tasted tisrya masala and paplet tava fry...The paplet was huge in size n was well marinated...loved it...
They has their authentic malwani taste....i also tried thali..Which consists of tandalachi bhakri, sol kadhi, one surmai fish ,fish curry, zinga ...๐๐๐๐
Had a beautiful experience...mini malwan at dadar ..must visit
Gomantak :-

Again in Dadar,
If you all want to enjoy the awesome taste of konkan or malvan , do visit this hotel ,**GOMANTAK**
Awesome taste of original mavani food and freshly prepared not preserved.
Staff here is very polite and Easy to communicate
Ambience is the best example of what a family restaurant should be.
Worthy rates and awesome taste.
CONCLUSION: Awesome place for having a family dinner and enjoying some exotic malvani dishes.
One of the best place for seafood in Mumbai... must visit... try it on weekdays to avoid crowd...
Surmai Thali with Solkadi is the best combination one can try along with Kombadi Vade n Crab Masala
Gomantak is located at kelkar road, Dadar West. I heard so many good things about this place, specially about their seafood. If you are planning to visit this place then it's better to visit as early as possible otherwise you have to wait in a queue. So we ordered bombil fry, prawns masala, kokam kadhi and steam rice. I loved each and every dish but food here is little bit less spicy for my palate. Ambience of this is okay, nothing fancy. Overall it's a great place for foodies.
A very nice place, around 15 minutes away from Dadar railway station.
we ordered a chicken thali and a prawns thali.
the rates are affordable and the taste is really good.
Gomantak......
Best and must try for seafood lover out there .
I have been their many times
Tried most of their dishes.
Chicken pulav was really best in test .
They serve number of fish dishes.
Kombdivade are my favourite with chicken curry .
๐๐๐
I went at 2pm and had a line. Food was pretty good. But the waiter got a bit confused with order but he was sweet. The food was pretty fresh. Took a special thali, was good. The prawn rice was a bit tasteless. But overall food was good.
1. The menu boasted a wide array of seafood delicacies, prepared with authentic flavors that transported me to the coastal regions of Goa.
2. The Bombil Fry was a crispy revelation, perfectly balanced with tangy spices that complemented the tender fish.
3. The Crab Lollipop was another standout dish, with its rich coconut-based gravy and perfectly cooked crab meat.
4. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their willingness to recommend dishes based on preferences was commendable.
We had surmai thali which is super delicious ๐๐คค surmai was in big sizee,. also tried chicken masala thali bt that was not spicy as expected..... We tried fish fingers too๐โค๏ธโ๐ฅ๐๐๐คค... Cool ambiance.. we are giving 2star for bad experience is that we didn't carry cash also they dont have gpay service to use.... so we had to find ATM outside for cash.
Amazing Sea food. Must try for authentic experience
The Sea Food was excellent. The Squid masala received with the Thali was a good choice. The Bombil Thali was excellent as well.
Wouldn't recommend the Mutton Thali was not upto the mark.
The place overall was nice.
The Staff was very polite and their service was amazing. Do visit for Seafood lovers.
Ordered their crab thali, pomfret masala thali, prawn fry , teesrya masala and vadas. The sea food was fresh , however they donโt devein the prawns . The sol kadhi is not the exact coconut based as one would drink in Goa or konkan and thus a bit disappointing, however the buttermilk based drink as is quite refreshing . We enjoyed our time there and our server was really enthusiastic about serving us. Definitely going back soon
must visit for authentic kokani sea food . Prawn and Surmai dishes are recommended. Make sure to visit on week days ( if possible) or else you have to wait for at least half hr on sundays .
It's a very small space located at just 5 mins walk from plaza. The food is very tasty but the quantity could have been better. We ordered the chicken masala dish for almost 300-350 which was just about enough for one person if you eat well. The taste of the food is very good and it has the perfect authentic maharashtrian flavours. It's a must go if you are a fan of konkani and malwani cuisine.
Tried out their
- Surmai Fry
- Prawns Pulao
- Solkadi.
And every item I had was worth writing about
The place is predominantly known for konkani-marathi cuisine esp sea food.
The fish was fresh - both surmai and prawns.
But the chicken and veg food is equally good I what I got to know from the orders around my table.
Recommend it for sea food cravings Marathi style!
This is one of my favorite restaurants for sea food in Dadar for decades. All fishes served here are fresh and delicious. Come along with your family to experience food heaven.
If you are searching for some delicious ๐คค sea food which is affordable , look no further ๐ Gomantak is your destination ! I opted for a bombil fry thali , came with two huge rotis with ghee , soo kadhi , 4 huge pieces of fried bombil , curry & huge bowl of rice ๐.
It was more than sufficient for one Person , extremely tasty and filling .
To end the meal I ordered caramel custard which wasnโt much upto the mark and could have been better
Excellent food. Excellent service. Space is bit congested too as it happens with very popular eateries. Also the Thali portion size is massive (the plate of mutton you see in pic is filled with boneless soft mutton) so recommended that 2 people share one Thali.. and maybe order a fish fry starter! Will visit again. Cost.. Rs 1000 for 2 which had two mutton Thalis and 2 starters so very value for Money. I would say the best budget seafood outlet in Mumbai.
Perfect place in Dadar for seafood.. During peak hours the wait time could go upto 30-45 minutes on weekends. Recommend dishes would be Surmai Thali, Prawns Thali, Chicken Sukha thali...
