Purva is a small place located near Dadar Plaza. I really feel such places are under rated and are the real hidden gems! You will love the food they serve, the staff is so warm and polite. I tried kombdi vade here & I loved it ππ€©

If ever want to have delicious maharastrian chicken thali very well known kombdi wade do visit this outlet of purva pangat. They serve some amazing maharastrian cuisine and iv always loved this one. The taste is amazing. The food is too good. Its just a basic hotel near dadar. Tried the fish thali too and it was well cooked and good to taste.

After long time me and family have tried different malvani joined other than our very own " Neta Acharekar's Malavan Katta" ..he he... π Now Come to this restaurant. "Purva Pangat" location is very much accessible.. very next to "Gomantak" dadar...This Place is lil tinny , limited seating arrangement, ambinace is as regular as other normal average restaurant..not that gtr8 but still managable as family restaurant...
Now come to cuisine... Typical malvani tasty food.. normly I am very much conservative about rating but this restaurant surely has their different own spices. We ordered Bheja Tawa fry (and this was awesommm) fried bheja lil cryspy outside, soft and juicy insider. One of the best tawa fried I have had ever.. (Best starter to gearup your malvani cuisine π)... Then we ordered chicken wada Thali, Surmai Thali, Wajari Thali... With Thali they serve chapati, rice,onion, solekadi and special green chatni called "Thecha".. (wajri normally bit stinks but here they have cleaned and prepared so well that you won't realised) I would love to try wajari masala again next time... Service was very good , people were very much polite and co-operative..
If you guys can discount the ambiance and other things then for authentic malvani food I I'll surely recommend this place.

Purva Pangat
Sea food n malvani is what we are looking for when thinkin if this eatery. A very simple n small place but big on taste. Wenever im here the surmai thali n prawns fry are a fixed delicacy to have. The solkadi goes very well with the malwavi food served. Averagely priced and happy on d tummy.

We tried Kalji Masala and Chicken Thali with Wade.
Both were nice with perfect spice. Solkadi though was little bland.
Pure veg restaurants outnumber Non vegetarian restaurants in Dadar. If you ask a local guy for a good Nveg food in the vicinity, he would almost always recommend to try out Gomantak, but this restaurant sits right beside Gomantak and there is always about 1-2 hrs waiting for the latter. So if you are hungry, best bet is to try out Hotel Purva Pangat. There is not much difference in taste. Muat try out if you are in a hurry. Chicken Thali is obvious choice. However, somedays you will be disappointed by the fish. But Chicken thali is quite good.
Wanted to visit Gomantak today but due to long queue outside it made us to change our mind and visited Purva Pangat instead.
Initially, we had doubts what to order here as we never heard their specialty. However, we decided to go with Fish Thali (Surmai thali) and Paplet thali which was quite good. Also, tried Bombil fry and Prawns dry and were pretty much impressed with the food quality and overall service.
Nice place to visit if you want to try malvani food.

When you are craving for Malwani cuisine and don't want to spend much here is the perfect place for you guys which I recently visited. This small little restaurant is located just next to Hotel Gomantak as if they are sisters (Gomantak is the elder one and purva is the younger). Enough about jokes now coming to the important part i.e the food.
When I entered here with my friends, first I thought the food wouldn't be that up to the mark of my expectations. But I was wrong the malvani food served here - The Thali system is delicious, tempting and one can really enjoy having his food here. The must try dishes are - the Chicken Thali and the Mutton Thali. One of their drinks the Kokum Curry is also refreshing. The Vade served here tastes good and are crispy just as I like them to be. The portion size is quite enough per person.
Now coming to the ambience, it's not that good. That's why the thought about this place is average came to my mind earlier as I mentioned above. But after having my lunch there by the taste of their food it all changed. The food puts a curtain on the ambience and that is why Hotel Purva Pangat is still in competition. The service is also quick and the servers are very kind and helping.
Over all this is a very nice place to have your lunch or dinner if you are craving for Malwani cuisine.
This place will satisfy you 100% as it satisfied me. This restaurant is now on my recommended list and I am sure if you guys are in the neighbourhood you will visit this place. I am surely going to give this place another visit.
Purva Pangat, has always been a go to place for me when I crave Malwani Cuisine. Located just beside Gomantak, it has managed to turn a few costumers to their doors in the recent times.
The chicken liver masala (for me) and mainly all the fish dishes (for others), the unavoidable Kombdi vade or Bhakri are the highlight of the place. Some solkadi to finish off the meal, is a cherry on top of the cake.
I always prefer the Thali system. As it gives me all of this and fills me upto the brim. The ambiance and service isn't much to talk about here, But the food is definitely worth a try.

Purva Pangat and Gomantak as Sisters yet enemies. They are located just next doors to each other but the food quality is nearly the same. I have tried the Fish Thali(Surmai,Pomfret,Bombay Duck), Chicken Kaleji Fry, Prawns Bhaat, Tisreeya Masala, Kalwa, and many more dishes. As I mentioned in my earlier reviews about malvani restuaurants, each restaurant has its distinct taste of their fish and chicken curries. Purva Pangat too surprised me with their fish curry. Tangy, sweet, sour yet a tinge of spicyness. Prawns here are as fresh as they can be.
Once again, please concentrate only on your FOOD, not the ambience.

We thought of trying out the famous Fish joint Gomantak on a Monday and found it shut. With sad and disappointed faces while returning we spotted this small place Purva Pangat which is just next to Gomantak and thought of just grabbing a small bite here. The food here is amazing. The fish served here is fresh and very tasty, and the vades are mind blowing. A reasonable and decent place. A must recommended for fish lovers. Do try their Bombil fry and sukka chicken. Will definitely visit this place again.
After the disaster at Sindhudurg, a couple of friends and me headed to Purva Pangat. This place was unexpectedly super. Just next door to Gomantak, this place the most fresh and tasty food at very reasonable rates. The Chicken Thali and the Mutton Thali were fantastic. The stuff was fresh and tasty. The chapatti and the Bhakhri were hot and were not made and kept like others.
The gravy is unlike the gravy which you get in other restaurants serving the same cuisine in the vicinity and unlike other places the gravy of Chicken and Mutton were very different. A special mention on the quality of rice. It's the rice which is not the basmati but the real 'gaavthi' rice which is a short grain but a thick grain. Try having this with the solkadhi and it will be like something one has never tasted before.
Do visit this place to experience sheer Malvani food pleasure.
Numero Uno for non-vegetarian food. Good for a company of 4-5 people. Tasty food for a good price. Rates are normal but can be heavy for some people.
Best place to have decent non veg meal. Seafood is fresh and tenderness of chicken is also up to the mark. Its not a fancy restaurant but its over all a awsome food place.
An understated place, this. Better than the other Gomantaks in the area. It's worth it even without any air conditioning. And value for money!!

You will find it odd that a small restaurant like this is standing besides the popular gomantak. Even I used to think like that. But when I tried their food..... yummy!! It's better than gomantak and if you don't want to waste your money then you have to try it.

I visited this restaurant once when there was a long queue outside Gomantak and i was lucky to do so. They have taste of their own a bit on the spicy side. I would suggest to try smthing different then the usual mutton and chicken dishes, such as the bheja masala, Vajri fry and chicken liver.

What does a Restaurant owner do when his outlet is next to Dadar Gomantak..seeing the serpentine queues lining up to get inside Gomantak everyday would be enough to either hope the miracle rubs on Purva Pangat or move on to something else..thankfully they have kept the faith and done their best.. The menu has a much better listing than their neighbour...and the masala more biting.. The thali itself has good many options and some new like the Bheja, Vajiri(intestine) and Kima... Enough to get you hooked.. The masala is fresh even when you order at 10 pm , note the neighbour has shutdown long before..Chaap masala and Huddy rasa are the other different items... Chicken and Mutton wade very good ...more than enough to decide not to bother with the queue and hop in this place most times..
Liked the chicken biryani,chicken sukha! But small place and gets crowded easily! Good they provide home delivery!
