It was one of the best place to chill out in bandra reclamation. The starters were good specially the cheese one. N the signature masala peanuts were as always a classic. I didn't have much food but drinks were good. N service was decent too
A friend recommended me this place. And When i first reached its in a very non commercial Location, and small cozy place. Totally a brunch place. Do visit this place once for a nice brunch with your family or friends or your partner. And the biryani here is to die for ! ♥️

Made amidst a lot of residential buildings which can makes its charm even nicer.
On reaching we were told about the blend of Maharashtrian and South Indian food in their menu.
Started off by ordering a Tibetan Pahadi Maggi Thukpa. I must say I kind of reminisced the thukpa I had a Mc loedganj. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who visits this place.
We then ordered Andhra style fish and chips. The fish was batter fried with South Indian masalas and served with French fries and dip.
Next was the Tellicherry pepper chicken and Agri prawns served with lemon rice. The prawns with lemon rice was a delicious combination and the gravy of the prawns was really tasty.
For desserts we tried the rasgulla truffle with Irish cream and the flavour of the Irish baileys took a rather mundane rasgulla and rabri to another level.
You can definitely try this place out for a rather calm and quiet dinner when you just want to sit and talk avoiding the usual noisy places.
A one of a kind Indian Progressive Lounge, is making splashes at Bandra Reclamation. Serving Desi food witha modern twist is its USP. The ambience is uber cool, they have an indoor as well as outdoor seating, since we had visited around Christmas, it was all decorated in glitter. Coming to what we had:
*COCKTAILS*
1. Bull by the horn- we've had bourbon with whiskey, but this one is bourbon with white rum, brandy, and red bull, for someone who likes their drink to be strong
2. B'owled- sweet and a little sour, grapefruit with vodka and white wine
3. Noble potion- another bourbon cocktail, this one has white wine and Apple extract
4. Sweet harvest- white rum with sugarcane extract,a unique combination, one you should definitely try out
*SALAD*
Yellow style quinoa and vegetable salad- a yellow special, this one is a must-have, dressing is something hatke, that is, tangy aam chutney, a desi twist to a modearn salad
*APPETIZERS*
1. Jalapeno malai tikka- perfectly grilled tikkas served with mint chutney
2. Andhra style fish and chips- fish was soft as ever, one of the best that we've had, served with mint mayo and masala fries.
*MAINS*
1. Kashmiri lotus stem yakhni with khasta roti- tried this kashmiri dish for the first time and it was good specially liked the khasta rotis
2. Dilliwala butter chicken- Indian meal is incomplete without butter chicken, this one we had with hari mirch laccha paratha
*DESSERT*
Rasgulla truffle with Irish cream- desi rasgullas get a chocolaty makeover here, it was pure heaven..
All the drinks and dishes were presented very well, so full marks for presentation. And the best part is the taste was never compromised with the presentation. Full marks to 'And it was called yellow' team.
This bright and cheerful eatery, which exudes warmth, beckons you instantly. The seating is well-spaced out and the interiors, are tasteful, but simple. There is an outdoor seating section too. The attractive bar at one end, is hard-to-miss. The food menu is inventive and yet, evokes nostalgia, with popular Indian dishes from across the country, but with a modern twist. The 'Quinoa and Wild Mushroom Haleem', with earthy favours and a creamy texture, will make carnivores forget the original. The 'Black Rice Pesarattu' filled with pulled lamb in a coconut base with curry leaves, is a treat you cannot miss. The 'Rajasthani Lal Maas Kachori' is equally a delight for the palate. For mains, exciting options such as 'Dal Pakwan.
And it was called yellow”, the name looked interesting and attractive so decided to go for the women’s day lunch over here. As we entered the restaurant we were welcomed with a warm and sweet smile by Sonali and was escorted to our table, this is a casual dining restaurant with modern Indian food and is situated at Bandra Reclamation.
Their staff is very courteous with an excellent service.
For drinks we ordered for Rose sangria and Cosmopolitan and both tasted good and different. We didn’t wanted to stuff ourselves with regular mains so ordered for appetisers and they were Andhra style fish and chips – 4/5, Mulgapodi prawns – 4/5 and southern chicken – 3/5. And in the end Rasgulla truffle with Irish cream topped with crushed gems was heavenly – 5/5
Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

We went for dinner here on Tuesday and loved the place so much that we went back for lunch today. The moment you reach, you are ushered in with great warmth. The entire team is extremely welcoming and super friendly! Their smiling demeanour sets an extremely positive tone for your meal. Coming to the food, their forté is authentic Indian food served with a delightful modern twist! We tried the following dishes on our two visits: Rose Sangria, Charcoal Button Idlis, Greek Seekh, Mutton Boti with Feta, Litti Chokha, Khichdi & Ammi Jaan’s Mutton Curry with Rice. All the dishes that we have had till now have been impeccable in taste and presentation! The food is absolutely sumptuous and so nuanced in its flavour. All in all, this is a place which makes you want to keep coming back for more and more! Thanks to the entire team for such great dining experiences. Keep up the good work!
What a incredible staff, hospitality and various variety of food items have tried Malai paneer with curd rice great combination of taste and staff treating us like a royal guest thank you so much for treating us like that, overall great and satisfied service
Starting from entering the restaurant Ms Sonali gave us a heart warming welcome with a sweet smile on her face and escorted us on our reserved table. We had been served a delicious food and our server Mr Abhishek and Mr Ningyar was so kind and polite they make sure that we have a good time. The ambience of the restaurant was very good especially because of the people serving the place. I should also appreciate the Chef who is behind the delicious food which was served and the bartender who made the Cheers 🍻 Drinks Kiddos to all you people.
We had black rice phirni which was amazing, litti chokha was ok the taste was not as good as the one we get in North India. I also tried their shorba which was amazing. Do visit this restaurant if you are in reclamation area.
And It Was Called Yellow
Located in Bandra Reclamation, 'And It Was Called Yellow' encapsulates the essence of yellow - the colour of warmth, joy & freshness. Yellow as it is fondly nicknamed, is all about providing Mumbaikars an experience that helps you indulge in authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist. This place is all about comfort and warmth as the ambience is rightly set up to make you feel the same. I went over to experience everything 'yellow' and throughout the meal, I couldn't get the song 'Yellow' by Coldplay out of my head.
This bright and cheerful eatery, which exudes warmth, beckons you instantly. The seating is well-spaced out and the interiors, are tasteful, but simple. There is an outdoor seating section too. Let's move to food experience
Classic Tomota soup
There's really nothing more comforting than a steaming hot bowl of tomato soup. Great start up of the day..
Tried the Andhra Style Fish & Chips and Jalapeno Malai Tikka and both small plates were tasty. I would say it's slightly on the expensive side, but the quality of food along with the taste is satisfactory. The fish was crispy, fresh and spiced to our liking. Special shoutout to the fries that were served along with it. They were too yummy..
The Greek Seekh
Veg Seekh Kabab is a delicious snack cum starter made using mixed vegetables and spices are super yummy and same served with yogurt and pomegranate dip.
Kashmiri Lotus Stem Yakhini
Nadru Yakhni is a famous kashmiri curry which finds its basis on yogurt along with lotus stems and some aromatic spices. Served with black rice pesarattu was too creamy n yummy.
Ammi Jaan's Mutton Curry
AMMI JAAN'S MUTTON CURRY Very delicious with soft, melt in the mouth that too served with multigrain roti or rice.
Blue Cheese Naanlets
Mini naanlets topped with lots of butter served sigdi accompanied with mint chutney is too delicious.
Artisanal Ice cream
High in calcium and low in calories, this is a very good ice cream to have for dessert Nice flavorful ice cream.
Jalebi ice cream
Jalebi is rich in sweetness and melts in the mouth. Mixing it with Ice Cream adds levels of happiness to the dish.
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
The Rasgulla truffle was something unique with the Rasgulla coated with chocolate and dipping it in Irish cream made it simply irresistible.
Pomeco
This drink is house special from yellow that is made of pomegranate, coconut cream and cranberry was too refreshing.
Granola Shake
This is a power packed shake which is made of blended of dates and granola was amazing.
So it was nice experience at and it was called yellow. All the staffs are extremely courteous.
And It Was Called Yellow is a casual dining space which will comfort you the moment you walk in and a nice meal with colleagues, friends or family out here will definitely be the highlight of your week.
And It Was Called Yellow...! It is located in Bandra Reclamation. They serve modern Indian and North Indian food. They've given twist to each and every dishes. Even the presentation is also very eye catchy.
I tried some of the dishes from its menu. Which were,
Pomeco:
In pomeco, there was pomegranate, coconut cream and cranberry juice. It was thick as it had coconut cream and had creamy texture.
Khush slush:
It was like mojito only. Salty and sour in taste that everyone like it.
Charcoal button idli:
It was charcoal infused idli. In taste there was no charcoal flavour. Tasted like regular idli only. Small in size. It was accompanied with coconut chutney and tomato peanut chutney.
Paneer Makhini:
If you're looking for Indian and veg meal then must try this paneer makhini. Basically it was gravy, loaded with paneer pieces. It had sweet taste. I had this with kasoori methi malabari paratha, kachumber and raita.
Veg Matka Biryani:
This biryani was delicious in taste. It didn't have lots of ingredients still tasted good. The aroma was amazing. They served garlic raita and papad along with this.
Thandai ice cream:
It was icecream having thandai taste in it. Tasted good and it had dash of cardamom (personally I don't like the cardamom).
And It was Called Yellow is a great place to visit. It's a small and great place with Indoor and Outdoor Seatings. I personally liked their atmosphere and hospitality.
I came here with my friends for Sunday lunch. We had Chicken Tikka Flatbread and Jalapeno Malai Tikka with Granola Shake.
After that I had Delhi Wala Butter Chicken and Matka Mutton Biryani. In end I had Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Ice-creams
As soon as I saw about this place , I was eagerly waiting to visit it and try as much as I can from their menu.
Their ambience is very cute and goes really well with their name .
To start with my order-
I had their charcoal button idli , blue cheese nanlets , Greek seekh kabab
Veg biryani for main course
And tried 2 of their mocktails as well.
And to end my meal I ordered kaapi baked yoghurt and truffle and Irish cream.
The Irish cream dessert is a must try but the baked yoghurt didn't really please me.

A very first experience and an amazing one!!!!!
Sumit and Abhishek were very courteous and helpful.
Tried 3 different appetisers and were blown away with the taste. It was PERFECT. Greek Sheekh, Boti kebab and Malai Chicken Tikka were very tasty. The watermelon and feta cheese salad was just ok. The feta cheese was very salty and spoilt the overall flavours of the salad.
Indian cuisine with some contemporary twist! They've variety of large plates and desserts. Jalapeno malai tikka and tellicherry pepper chicken with lal mirch butter naan is what we tried. Best ever chicken gravy I ever had. Courteous staff and amazing service!

1. Charcoal Button Idli
2. Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
@yellowbandraofficial has a new menu!! If you're craving delicious Indian Cuisine with a contemporary twist, do visit them! Genuinely good delicious food, with a lot of veg friendly options!
I absolutely loved and recommend the Jhalmuri Puchka Shots (the paani couldn't be more authentic), The Paneer Makhani with Malabar paratha main, Kashmiri Lotus Stem Yakhni (very very yum), and the Rasagulla Truffle (you can opt to make it a drunken dessert). Wash it all down with the beautiful Yellow Tonic (mocktail) or any of their signature cocktails!!
The place is in line with several other eat-outs in the lane. Easy to spot and easy to book as well. The staff is courteous and the service is on point. The food quanity and the quality, both were great. Ambiance is cute, not really a stand out. Was only bothered by their desserts: Though the variety was good the taste was not that wow.
Must try: Paneer Pani Puri
Andhra Fish & Chips
Yellow is a quaint little getaway from the noise that follows Mumbai capturing all the sunshine in a few thousand square feet and is ready to serve you from sunshine afternoons to moonlit evenings! Serving authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist, yet upholding the spirit of India at its core. And It Was Called Yellow fits every mood! Kick started my luncheon with light and refreshing watermelon feta salad and Mulgapudi prawns - crunchy tiger prawns marinated in mulgapodi masala served with raita. Dilliwala Butter Chicken - a soulful rich gravy with tandoor chicken shreds served with hari mirch malabari paratha along with their signature cocktails - That's why we call it yellow and Gulfam. And lastly Rasgulla truffle with Irish cream - boozy rasgulla infused with Baileys Irish Cream garnished with crushed gems and cocoa powder.
Cute little outlet in the bylanes of bandra reclamation.
Has a fancy food menu and a tad bit of tadka to the regular food.
Started of with Ghati masala chicken popcorn and it was something out of the box . Really loved the spiced up chicken with the dip.Along with it came Malgipodi prawns dipped in raita. To be honest this was average .
The real tastebud kicker was the lalmass keema pav. And it was delicious. The taste of the same was overwhelming. However the only drawback was it was made in chicken which we had highlighted the staff but the staff wasn't ready to accept and gave his own theory to it. Nonetheless it was tasty.
For maincouse we called for Delhi Wala butter chicken which comes along soft malabari paratha. The combination was just perfect.
Ghati masala chicken popcorn - 3.5/5
Malgipodi prawns- 2.5/5
Lalmass keema pav- 4/5 (0.5 negative because it was chicken)
Delhi Wala butter chicken-3.8/5
Observation- Portion size is less for the price which is charged. No questions to be asked on the taste . With regards to drinks we called for Liit and red wine sangria which I thought was not spiked up(less of alcohol) .
Overall a nice dining experience.
What a Saturday we had!
This Saturday Lunch gave an awesome start to the weekend.
This place is LIT, having both open Air seating and air conditioned as well. The quirky interiors, the subtle Decor, the beautiful art pieces and quotes which completes the wall of the resto.
The staff is helpful and corteous and have good knowledge of the food served.
STH recommends-
1. Pomeco - A Cream based Mocktail with coconut cream to give a refreshing flavour with pomegranate and Cranberry.
2. Blue Cheese Nanlets - Ahhh! Thats what we call a dish using cheese, mini naans stuffed with blue cheese and spices served with ample of butter on a live grill. Lip Smacking!
3. Tandoori Momos - A delhi street style snack added to the menu with sheer Chefs perfection. The momos are grilled beautiful with the marination served with mint and makhani dip.
4. Dal Pakwan - Sidhi delicacy to complete the New Indian Menu, the dal pakwan is served with Masala Pav for a twist, the consistency of Dal touched with Mint and tamrin chutney, Lajawab is the word. The crisp Pakwan compliments the dish.
5. Rasgulla truffle with Irish Cream - The indian meetha given a intenational touch with truffle and irish cream served in a martini glass and flamed with Rum(optional) resembles sheer class of the chef and the Restaurant.

A moment of appreciation for the great hospitality received by the staff & the manager. I was very glad after visiting and it was called yellow. It's a good hangout spot for friends & family sraying closeby. Superb food
- Good food & service was great
- Staffs were polite. Helped to order food and also with suggestions
- Food was very flavorful. The starters were more appetizing. They were nice, prepared fresh.
It's a good place to be. Visited here with a good friend few weeks back. This place is a little too inside if you come following the google map.
Although this place is in reclamation, this restaurant is very amazing from inside. I loved the interior of the place..
Also, there variety of food over here.
The starters & maincourse were nice but the dessert was too good.
We had a dessert which has alcohol in it. It was good in taste. And i think this dessert needs to be tried by everyone
Rasgullah Truffle was very uniquely presented
It came on a cocktail glass, a stick which has 3 pieces of i think white rasgulla coated with chocolate and inside the glass there was a milky liquidy dessert which also had rum in it.
I had a great experience coming to this place.
And it was a fantastic place is all what I can say after I have visited this place with a friend & was very happy to visit here.
This restaurant is amongst the unique cafes i have ever visited. We tried a few cocktails from this place & i must say they were really amazing. It was verywonderful.
The food over here is also very great. They hace various discounts offer going on if you purchase the beers. .
Paneer tikka PaniPuri was a unique dish we tried over here.. So the dish has crumb paneer tikka inside the puri with some other ingredients..the. You get the spicy and tangyy Paani to serve it in and have the flavour burst in your mouth.
The momos & chicken tikka was also very nice. The chicken was very tender & the flavors were too good. The chicken was very nice.. talking about the momos they were made in tandoori masala and it was also very amazing..
Tried the Chicken biryani in the maincourse, it was really good in quantity and the raita along with it was too good. Loved the matka biryani from this place.. it was very nice.
So.. overall a great experience visiting this place.
I would recommend everyone to visit this place & enjoy the food..

And It was called Yellow, a sweet beautiful outlet located in the silent streets of Bandra. The preety ambience and the voygeur vibes will definitely calm you down.
We started with :
•Charcoal Idli - An original Idli with a twist in colour. Black is the new trend and hence charcoal idli, dusted with gunpowder and served along with coconut chutney
•Blue cheese Naanlets - 4 mini naanlets topped with lots of butter served on a sigdi accompanied with mint chutney is a go go.
•Butternut fritters - Butternut fritters topped with raw mango served along with mint chutney and raw mango dip. You will like if you are a mango person.
•Dal Pakwan - The star dish. The dish that rocked our meal. A bowl of freshky cooked dal topped with tamrind and mint chutneys was sooo lipsmacking. Served along with a huge pakwan, and masala roasted in ghee pav.
•Christmas special dessert - A perfect christmas dessert that had plum cake, strawberried some pistachios and sweetened yogurt.
•Orange juice (Fresh and yumm)
•Pomeco (Highly recommended)
I personally loved the service of this place. The serveurs were enthusiatic. Mr. Abhishek, did a great job with recommendations.

I recently visited Yellow at Bandra. It's a small place but nicely done.
They serve Vegetarian and non Vegetarian food.. modern Indian that is.
I tried a few veg dishes here.
Tomato Soup.. really delicious. Perfect consistency and very flavorful. My son loved it.
Quinoa salad... It was decent. They used a sweet mango dressing.. tasted like Gujarati chunda. Sweet spicy crunchy salad. Good. But could have been better. They could have added few more textures to it.
Mushroom haleem... Really good. Quite flavorful. Try only if you love Mushrooms.. cause this tastes a bit different from regular Mushroom flavors
Charcoal mini Idlis... The Chutneys were good. The Idlis were regular Idlis but black in color due to the charcoal. No difference in the flavor. Good for children as well.
Dal Pakwan... Really delicious Dal. Loved the garlic flavor. The green and sweet Chutney added more flavor to it. Don't forget to squeeze a lemon. The Chilli Pav pieces were good as well. The Pakwan was a disappointment. Could have been better. Overall loved it.
Vegetable Biryani... Spicy, balanced in terms of mala to vegetables to rice ratio. Just how I love it. It was delicious.
Truffle rasgulla with Irish cream... These were delicious. Something unusual but good.
Tried a few mocktails..they were decent.
I had ordered a pesarettu and was served one. I wasn't informed if it was Vegetarian or non Vegetarian inspite of asking what exactly was this dish. I was served lamb which mom and I actually tasted and realized it's not Vegetarian. Totally disappointed by this. Also the service was extremely slow.
Please look into the matter!
Otherwise a good place with good food.

Indulge in authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist.
Encapsulating the essence of yellow, the colour of warmth, joy & freshness, the ambience has welcoming, positive vibes & cute artefacts captivate the space.

Matka Biryani - was just perfect. The aroma, the flavours.. Simply delicious.
Dessert
Blueberry Double ka Meetha - was ok, didn't impress us much.
Rasagulla Truffle with Irish Cream - a must have dessert..
Mocktailss were well done.. we recommend
- Orange Mojito
- Gooseberry Sour
Overall we strongly recommend the place for its ambience & food.
What impressed me the most? Well..... it was everything & everything & everything ☺ In the hustle and bustle of city life, when you find a place which is very decent, classy & elegant at the same time very modern would be a blessing in itself for a perfect weekend. What made me say this ? Well......the welcoming at the restaurant gave me a sense of how the entire course and experience would be and I must say that it was far beyond the Customer Delight How was the experience ? Everything served was close to perfect. It kick started from the healthy and refreshing drinks following with the serving of starters and main course. Every dish served first was just raising the bar high for the other one in line. DRINKS Pomeco A blend of coconut water & pomegranate with a pinch of ginger is a perfect combination flavour and good health Aam Panna As we have already welcomed winter in our calendars, as Mumbaikars we still feel the pinch of heat. Aam panna is a perfect drink with heat resisting properties to keep yourself cool with added health benefits. FOOD From classic plating to clay pots, everything was well complemented with the entire food experience Classic Paneer Tikka Well... It’s everyone’s favourite The first love of all the vegetarians Every chunk of paneer was well balanced and cooked to it’s perfection. Marinated in best of spices will just make you fall in love with cottage cheese all over again. The Greek Seekh Well that’s my Personal favourite now. Served in an extremely novel and classic manner, it will just hit your taste buds at one go. The surprising element is the dip served in shots of yoghurt, pomegranate with kebab plated on top of it Filled with feta filling and served with shot dips has taken the basic kebabs to another extreme. Paneer Makhani Naan Perfectly cooked with the taste of best of spices, this ones will really be remembered for next visit. I preferred it along with methi Naan which remained tendered throughout the entire course Dessert Conceptualised in a very modern and aesthetic manner, the Rasgulla Truffle with Irish cream was a perfect conclusion to our entire course.

Our Review: 5 / 5:
Located in Bandra Reclamation, @yellowbandraofficial encapsulates the essence of yellow the color of warmth, joy & freshness. Yellow as it is fondly nicknamed, is all about providing Mumbaikars an experience that helps you indulge in authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist. This place is all about comfort & warmth as the ambiance is rightly set up to make you feel the same. Coming to the food, we started our meal with Hara moong vadi salad , a healthy feast loaded with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, mayo, chilli sauce and mini moong daal wadas garnished with pomegranate. Next we had Dal pakwan an Sindhi authentic daal with bread pieces and crisps. The daal was so delicious. Blue cheese naantels is a small and warm naans stuffed with blue cheese served on small barbeque coal stove is next level Indian fusion appetizer! In dessert we had Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream, its coated with chocolate truffle served on a skewer on top of martini glass and flaming Bailey's poured on top. It was just Madness!

Standing calm and tall, situated in one of the secluded corners of Bandra, this place promises peace and solitude. However, if you are looking to spend quality time with your family admist the hustle bustle of the city, this one will serve you just fine. Their menu comprises of a range of Indian dishes, not restricted to just the flavours of North, but a touch from all over India too.
We started off with their cute Charcoal button idlis and Jalapeno Malai Tikka. The Charcoal Button Idlis were served along with coconut and a tomato-garlic chutney. Smeared with gunpowder, these buttons were soft, fluffy and delicious. The chutneys had a great flavor which complemented the Idlis perfectly. The Jalapeno Malai Tikka comprised of chicken tenders generously marinated in malai, and topped with chopped jalapenos. The dish was overall soft and tasted sweet; jalapenos could have been more or sliced instead of chopped as it gave barely any taste.
We tried some of their drinks from the bar menu and we are not lying when we say that we haven't tried stronger drinks than those ones. We tried the "Noble Potion" and "Bull By The Horn" to go with our starters. The Noble Potion was a concoction of deliciousness with a stout base of Bourbon, sweetness of the subtle wine and the apple extract. It was a well balanced drink with the correct amounts of hit to get you just the right buzz. Bull By The Horn was served in a container actually made of a bull's horn and it was a wild one. The flavours were raw and hard-hitting and it suited the name perfectly. The blend included a range of alcoholic liquors right from the basic red bull to the Bourbon. The quantity was great and it was just amazing.
For the mains, we decided to go with the Dal Pakwan and Veg Biryani. The Dal Pakwan was not just our classic Dal and Pakwan but instead it was served with a tikki in the Dal and a side of masala pav. It seemed to be an odd combination at first but once we tried it, it was a holistic Sindhi dish. The flavours of Dal with the chutneys were absolutely delicious and the Pakwan was perfect. Even the masala pav tasted great with the Dal and tikki. We loved this one and it was quite a homely one.
The Veg Biryani was a meal on its own, served with a roll of papad and Garlic Raita. It was served in a matka "Dum Biryani" style. The flavours were brilliant and the aroma was great. The gravy was enough and it had a pretty good taste. We enjoyed this one too.
We tried two more of their drinks, the B'owled and the Sweet Harvest. B'owled again, as the name suggests came in this huge and the cutest porcelain owl bowl. However, do not mistake it to be just gimmicks. The drink was equally wonderful. There was a strong taste of Grape fruit and we could feel the hit of alcohol too. It checked all the boxes.
The Sweet Harvest comprised of this uncanny combination of Sugarcane extract and white rum. It tasted blissful and as I mentioned earlier, all their drinks were just right there. We thoroughly enjoyed all of their drinks.
Lastly, we came to the dessert and it was a bomb. Rasgulla truffle with Irish cream was served and flambé d in front of us. The Rasgulla was coated in chocolate and the Irish cream became even better after the touch of alcohol. It was just an absolutely dreamy combination and the combination just worked wonders on us. We totally loved this.
It was a great experience and they have amazing drinks and meals. We would surely visit this one again when we want a slice of that happiness. It is new, it is brilliant and it won't disappoint. What more do you need from it?

With my love for Indian food, we recently made our way to the newly launched - It Was Called Yellow.
Not much for interiors, but the place has fresh modern fine dining seating both indoor and outdoors, an enticing menu and to celebrate the successful launch – we started with a couple of mocktails.
Recommended:
Yellow Tonic: Aloe vera, pineapple and basil. Taste ✅ Innovation ✅ Health ✅✅
Onto the grub:
Our favourite dish from the selection of starters was the Quinoa and wild Mushroom Haleem. The texture, is something I had never tried and blew my senses. The creamy Haleem with crispy fried onions and coriander was extraordinary. If that wasn’t already good enough, the whole thing is taken to new heights with a whole wheat tandoori biscuit to dip in the Haleem.
The Greek Seekh: Being vegetarian, I clearly don't have a preference for seekh kebab. But, this one would definitely be on top of my list. Beetroot kebabs stuffed with feta cheese and served with pomegranate yogurt and normal spiced yogurt. This is Indian food but not as we know it.
Mains:
Dal Pakwaan:
Another excellent choice was the Dal Pakwaan. Bhee tikki patty, covered with the fragrant spiced yellow dal and topped with mint, tamarind and served with masala double roti. I love dal pakwaan so much, in fact it’s one of my favourite dishes and this didn’t disappoint.
Veg Biryani:
Smokey Veg Dum Biryani made up of rice, caramelised onions, roasted spices and veggies served with rich and silky yogurt and papad.
Dessert:
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream:
For extra indulgence, we order this. The Rasgulla dipped in chocolate truffle and served in a glass of Irish cream with shaved chocolate. Not too sweet, can get overwhelming but definitely worth a try. Rich, creamy and that Irish cream was a dream.
Overall, the place is as if a new life-giving force has entered. Kudos to the chef on maintaining the authenticity of the dishes yet producing something so extremely delicious.
Until Next Time
Overall rating: 4.1/5
The concept of Modern Indian is perfect for Indian food lovers, who want some change. The setting is ideal for a family dinner. The interiors were unimpressive, with a very regular restaurant type seating and décor, infact the place where we were sitting was a seating stuffed between 2 walls with not adequate space in between, which was slightly uncomfortable.
The service was prompt, and the manager as well as the servers were very courteous. They had a variety of dishes in vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian, including seafood.
Certain dishes stood out from the others, which were:
1. Jalapeno Malai Tikka
2. Andhra Style Fish & Chips
3. Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
Mocktails
1.Aam Panna
The Aam Panna had a very medicinal taste to it, one of the reasons probably being that it was served at room temperature. The Aam Panna flavour was evident, but it wasn’t enjoyable.
2. Gooseberry Sour
The gooseberry lime combination with a hint of ginger was quite delightful. It had a candy like taste with just the adequate amount of sourness.
Starters
3. Jalapeno Malai Tikka
Chicken Tikka is a regular dish for me, but never have I eaten something of this sort! The jalapeno flavor was subtle in this malai tikka, which was so soft, flavourful & a grand start to our meal.
4. Andhra style fish & Chips
Another brilliance from their kitchen! Thick crispy exterior, with a super soft, melt-in-mouth interior, perfected in a way rarely found. And to top it all, the fish had a distinct flavor, and was not bland at all.
5.The Greek Seekh
Vegetarian Seekh with a feta filling & served with a pomegranate curd shot glass. The seekh was soft and cooked well, but the taste wasn’t so appealing
Mains
6.Agri Prawns
Coconut based prawns curry served with ghee rice bhakri. The bhakri & the prawns gave a very homemade familiar feel to it, considering I eat a lot of Konkani food. Also, even though it was a filling dish, it wasn’t heavy and the prawns were also generously present in the gravy.
7. Dilliwali Butter Chicken
Generally I am not very fond of butter chicken as they are either too creamy or too sweet. Their version was just amply creamy and not sweet; heavy (as North Indian gravies are) but delectable.
Desserts
8.Rasmalai truffle with Irish Cream
The highlight of our meal- Chocolate coated Rasgulla tasted just so good- wow! Instead of the rasgulla syrup, we dipped the truffle in their Irish cream, and that took the taste to another level. Kudos to the chef for this concoction.
9.Filter Kaafi Baked Yoghurt
I opted for this one, as the other options were double ka meetha. I wish they had more options, as this one didn’t work for me. I felt it needed to be quite a bit sweeter.
With the kind of food we ate, the basic interiors don’t do justice to it. Some dishes were so good, makes my water every time I think about it. If your stomach is craving for fancy Indian food, this place can definitely be your choice.
This new place in Bandra has got you covered for all your moods! 😻
The place is small but has got pretty ambiance with amazing food and drinks to choose from! Also the prices are quite decent here.
Went to this place on a Saturday Evening with my friends for lunch and drinks.
For drinks, we ordered:
1. Chuski Tarbooj: Spicy melon and lime based drink. Quite average!
2. Anasassy: Basically a white rum and pineapple based drink! This is a must try! 😻
3. Noble Potion: It's a white wine based drink with Apple extract and bourbon.
4. Bull by the Horn: This was a star for me 😻 It had white rum, brandy, gin and red bull. Good enough to give you a sweet kick!
5. Hapustini: Alphonso Pulp mixed with tequila. Quite different!
6. B'owled: Vodka + White wine and grapefruit flavoured. Toooo good!
7. Sweet Harvest: White Rum based and flavour of sugarcane. This was so great!
8. Kokum Sharbat
9. Aam Panna
10. Virgin Hot Toddy
For Soup and Salads, we ordered:
1. Classic Tomato: This was really one amazing classic tomato soup. So creamy and so yumm! I literally had like two bowls of it! Must try! 😻
2. Hara Moong Wadi Salad: Basically a salad which had lettuce, cherry tomatoes, mayo, chilli sauce and mini moong daal wadas and garnished with pomegranate. So delicious!
3. Yellow style quinoa and vegetable salad: Too much of lettuce and cherry tomatoes with quinoa. Tasty!
For food, we tried:
1. Charcoal Button Idli: Mini idlis with gun powder added to it and served with coconut chutney and red chutney. These idlis looked so good and tasted more than delicious! And it's quite a unique dish too! Must try this dish!
2. The Greek Seekh: Veg Seekh Kebabs filled with paneer and cream and served with yogurt. The presentation was superb! The yogurt dip was served in shot glasses and kebabs were kept on those glasses! Taste and presentation definitely 5/5.
3. Quinoa and Mushroom Haleem: This was a big disappointment! For the first time we heard something like this! Veg Haleem! So we thought of giving it a try! Mushroom haleem topped with fried onions and served with crisp breads. You can miss out on this dish!
4. Dal Pakwan: Authentic sindhi dish! 😻 Sindhi thick daal with bread pieces and crisps. This was a star for me! Don't forget to order this dish! The daal was so delicious!
5. Kashmiri Lotus Stem Yakhni: Lotus stem added thai gravy with crisp breads. This was again a delight! Quite tasty!
6. Paneer Butter Masala: Creamy panerr butter masala served with butter naan and pickled onions. Amazing is the word 😻
7. Veg Biryani: Amazing veg matka biryani served with raita and papad. What better than Biryani! Wow!
For desserts, we tried:
1. Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream: Yum yum yumm! 😻
2. Filter Kaapi Baked Yogurt
This place is definitely one of the best go-to places in Bandra! 😻
And It Was Called Yellow-
A Casual Dining place transforming Indian food into delicious fusion dishes.
This place is located at Bandra reclamation joint. Ambience is good with old classics playing in the background. Pleasantly surprised with the presentation.
We had
B’Owled drink
Chicken & Cheese soup
Hara Moong Wadi Salad
Mushroom and quinoa Haleem
Charcoal button Idli
Filter Kaapi Baked Yogurt
I personally loved most of the dishes and their presentation.
It’s been a while since I gave a 5 star rating to a restaurant.
And I couldn’t rate this restaurant anything lower. Read on my review to know why place is a must visit!
I went here on a Friday afternoon for some good food and cocktails and relax for the upcoming weekend.
The place is cozy and they interiors have subtle hues of yellow, Golden and blues.
I started off a few cocktails and appetizers.
1. Mushroom and quinoa Haleem - I cannot emphasize enough why this should be a must order! So creamy, so wonderfully light and so so delicious! One of the best appetizers I have had in a really long time. DEFINITE ORDER!
2. Blue cheese naanlets - came smoking hot to the table. Stuffed generously with blue cheese and served with fresh and slightly spicy Coriander chutney, this was a such a delight!!
Paired these two with
Hapustini - mango and vodka. No frills cocktails. Potent and refreshing.
Sweet Harvest - a sugarcane juice with white rum with a surprise entry of old monk and smoked cinnamon.
While the cinnamon overpowered the sugarcane flavour. This was likeable, if not lovable!
Then came in few other appetizers ( but the pics attached are just tasting position. Actual portion size varies)
3. Charcoal button idlis - while they look very rad, they are your simple idlis. But what actually makes me delicious are the chutneys that are served with it.
The spicy peanut and the subtle coconut chutney are just wow.
4. Beetroot kebab with feta - delectable beetroot kebabs, stuffed with feta cheese and served with raita shots. What a way to get a mouthful of flavour! Loved the soft and juicy kebabs with soothing pomegranate chili raita.
Then came along other next set of cocktails, which were again, very refreshing.
AnnaSassy - pineapple juice, white rum and curry leaf. My bet pick for the drinks. The kind of drink you would want to have while on the beach. The subtle hint of curry leaf at the end of each sip was just amazing.
Star Anise and Dagad phool G&T - this came a one of the most recommended drink from the owner, so we had to try. Quite refreshing, I must say. The slight spiciness with a shot of lime works wonders.
We moved onto the mains now, which was so heavy!
5. Panner makhanwala with kasuri meethi naan - firstly, very impressed with the portion size. Also, when they say makhanwala, they mean it. So freaking creamy and such fresh cottage cheese. This was love at first bite. DEFINITE RECOMMENDATION for the mains.
We ended the meal on high with -
6. Truffle rasgulla with Irish cream -
If you miss on this, please go back and have it again. It is that good. Three rasgulla covered in chocolate over Irish cream and then flamed with old monk. Best. Thing. Ever.
Please DO NOT MISS out on this.
I left happily high on food with a promise to be back real soon. After all, I’m still having dreams about that Haleem and truffle rasgulla 😛
Happy hogging :)

And It Was Called Yellow-
Really inventive concept of serving Indian cuisine with a twist and artistic presentation.
Ambiance of this place is really serene and make u feel comfortable. The outdoor green space with communal tables and wall with yellow scooter. The indoor portion is partitioned and also has a bar counter.
Analysis
Star anise & Dragon phool-
Aromatic blend of vodka, lime juice and star anise. Potent and smokey in taste.
Classic Tomato soup-
One of the best tomato soup I'v tried. it was creamy, buttery and perfectly sweetened. Served with crunchy chana jor garam. Must go for this.
Charcoal Button Idli-
Unique receipe of mini idli colored dark due to charcoal. Spongy idli topped with gun powder and accompnied with
coconut and tomato chutney. Presented well and tastewise okay.
The Greek Seekh-
Awesome presentation. Veg kabab served on beetroot and pomegranate chilli dip shots. The kabab was stuffed with feta cheese. Inventive and delicious.
Veg Matka biryani-
A traditional layered veg biryani severed from the Matka. Huge portion but finished in no time.
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish cream-
Chocolate coated rasgulla kept on large circular glass filled with irish cream. Again heavenly tasty.
Fresh take on Indian food.
Well, from the outside of the restaurant one would probably feel like an everyday joint and hence perhaps take this for granted. As you step it, things get calm, simple and the welcoming whites immediately strike a balance with the background music.
Ample parking options since this is around the by lanes of Reclamation, Bandra West, Opp Lilavati Hospital. What would impress you the most is the menu, its creative names, and BANG, the taste and presentation…!! The menu is predominantly Indian cuisine, but with a lot of twists and soul…!! Trust me you will be nothing, but delighted.
From simple plating, to cane boxes, to steel plates, to clay pots, to Tequilla shot dips glasses, and desserts immersed in Martini glasses you will find it all here. The spices, the Coriander, the Mustard, the black Rice, Rotis, Kebabs are all so well balanced in all those dishes. The cocktails and mocktails also have a great modern story and concoction (–) the molecular effects.
We had tried the following along with family: ( ** Excellent go for it)

“And It Was Called Yellow” is a restaurant near Bandra Reclamation, serving great Modern Indian dishes with a twist.
Coming to the food, we tried a lot of items, but to name a few of the highly recommended items to try are

The Greek Seekh – Super yummy Seekh kabab served in a very different style. Super soft and tasty.

And it was called Yellow, is a modern day dining restaurant. All of the dishes are curated very well by adding a modern twist to it. The place is quite vibrant with faint music in the background, some dim lights! They also have outdoor sitting arrangements which will be quite great in the winters.
A must visit place for date nights with your loved ones!
In drinks we had some quite simple drinks which were given a twist!
Like we had the Karvanda and Chuski Tarbooz, both of these were quite good and the drink lasted us our entire meal!
In food we had their Classic Caeser Salad. The salad was simply great with lots of olives, jalapeños and croutons in it. It was a well balanced salad with the right amount of crunchy ness to it. The dressing was also well balanced and the quantity can be enough to satisfy one person.
Next we had their Panko Crusted Prawns, these were served to us in a martini glass with the bottom filled with curd and the prawns on top. These were one of the best prawn dishes I have had. The crusted marination on the prawns is simply amazing. And the combination with curd is just good!
For mains we had the Dal Pakwan, which was a complete platter in itself with the dal and bhee tikki along with pakwan and masala pav.
I can literally visit this place to have this great preparation of the dal. It was the best dal I have had. I actually cleaned the bowl to the last bit, it was so good. The pakwan seems insufficient along with the dal but the dal itself is so good you can have it stand alone!
For desserts we had, Rasgulla truffle with Irish cream. Ok! I was wrong. I can probably visit again for this dessert as well. The rasgullas and the Irish cream which crushed gems in it! Literal food heaven! Grab this one definitely!
All in all, I had a very enjoyable meal here, with great ambience, lip smacking food and gorgeous desserts!
If you're looking for a restaurant serving a variety of Indian cuisines that don't confuse you with a long list of similar-sounding dishes, this is the place you should opt for.
The menu has a good variety yet every dish is distinctive. There are sufficient options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
The ambience has a semi-formal vibe and the service is on point with waiters well aware of what goes into each dish.
If possible, I'd encourage you to even call the chef and have him describe the detailed flavour notes of the dishes. It'll bring a lot of perspective to what is being served on your table.
Coming to what I tried -
In Small Plates
1. Spicy Masala Paneer Flatbread
2. Quinoa & Wild Mushroom Haleem
In Large Plates
3. Paneer Makhani with kasoori methi butter naan, kachumber & raita
4. Dal Pakwan with bhee tikki and masala double roti
Dessert
5. Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
Bar Nibbles
6. Cheese Platter that comprised of Blue Cheese, Home-made Cheese, Mozzarella Sticks
Cocktails
7. Chuski Tarbooj
8. B'owled
For me, the highly recommended ones were the Quinoa & Wild Mushroom Haleem, Spicy Masala Paneer Flatbread, Cheese Platter and Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream.
Quinoa & Wild Mushroom Haleem - a vegetarian version of Haleem that impressed me so much! This was my first time with a dish like this and I truly enjoyed every bite of my whole wheat tandoori biscuit dipped into the paste that was accentuated by fried onions.
Spicy Masala Paneer Flatbread had a simple comfort food kinda feeling. The taste was spot on - enough spices without burning your tongue, baked with processed cheese on top that made every gooey bite of this dish more delectable.
Cheese Platter is something that deserves a special mention. The highlight of this dish was the home-made cheese that was flavour with peppercorn, honey, olives and jalapenos. Trust me you WANT to order this platter with your wines. Beautiful! (the mozzarella sticks could've had more though).
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream - uff what a dessert! The Rasgulla coated with chocolate truffle served on a skewer on top of martini glass and flaming Bailey's poured on top. Madness!
The large plates were quite good too and the portion size was enough for 2. Truth be told the two of us couldn't finish the mains after filling ourselves up with the delicious small plates and had to pack it up. Besides, we had to leave room for desserts too!
The cocktails were very very well made. The Chuski was a sheer delight with sweetness and saltiness so well balanced and enough alcohol to make you feel like you had a good cocktail. B'owled was a good one too, and quite a strong one I must mention. I'd definitely pick that one over any sangria!
What I really liked about the whole experience at Yellow was the attention to flavours without too much "taam-jhaam". While fancy platings and gastronomy make the food Instagrammable if it doesn't taste good, what's the point?
All in all a good experience. I would certainly recommend a visit.
And it was called Yellow is a place if one is looking for a modern take on Indian food.
We tried the pineapple curry leaves and the mint grape fruit under the lemonade section .. quite nice..
We had the panko crusted prawns that were awesome.
The jalmuri puchka shots and the masala sweet potato fries were different but the take way here was the dessert rasgulla truffle with irish cream .. all the ingredients blended so well that the dish was a instant hit.
The staff was courteous.
Definitely a must try place.
A great place to have some good food. Really enjoyed the litti chokha, paneer starter, soup etc. some items could be better Like the kebab stuffed with feta cheese or the filter coffee but overall great experience
Pricing is fine if you don’t order alcohol
This place is very asthetic
Do visit
Very beautiful interiors and the service is amazing
The rajasthani kheema kachori- 5/5
Andhra chicken curry - 5/5
Neer dosa- 5/5
The warm and yellow ambiance of the place is fitting for the feel good food that they serve. The pani puri is a must try and so is the missal served with iddiyapaam. Absolutely loved the fusion of Indian food and moreover the INSANE cocktails!
Lovely place tucked in a lane in the reclamation area ,
We loved the food , tried the tomato and coconut lime soup .
The puchka shots where great !
We also tried the fish and chips , paneer makhni , butter chicken and the mutton in gravy ! Excellent food !
The only thing that wasn’t up to the mark was the veg stew , that could have been better ,
Would definite suggest This place and would love to come back for more ..
'And It Was Called Yellow' is a resto bar with some brilliant ambience and located at Bandra Reclamation. The place boasts of wonderful appetizers and some really innovative desserts.
We began our meal with Pomeco and Orange Mojito followed by some appetizing indulgences.
Jalapeno Malai Tikka
Tender and juicy Malai Tikkas are absolutely bursting with flavor and presented in a wonderful manner as you can see. Smothered in a marinade, these tikkas alongside jalapenos will surely rock your taste buds.
Chicken and Cheese Loaded Mirchi
The original favorite mirchi vada innovated into a splendid combination of chicken and cheese on every bite and served with ghati masala mayo. One of the best appetizers on offer.
Panko Crusted Prawns
Seasoned prawns coated with crispy panko crumbs to make the easiest, tastiest deep-fried prawns you had ever come across. The presentation is also quite unique and it comes along with mulgapodi and raita.
Dilliwala Butter Chicken with Lachcha Paratha
The ever delicious Laccha Paratha with Butter Chicken. A red gravy which is quite relishable. Loved it and tastes better with the lachcha.
Chicken Matka Biryani
Layered with rice, chicken and Indian spices with cashew nuts on top, this flavourful biryani turns out to be quite tasty.
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
Mouthwatering Rasgullas inside chocolate truffles dipped into Irish cream and giving you a delightful experience. An innovative and splendid dessert.
Blueberry Double ka Meetha
The ever favorite Shahi Tukda with a pinch of blueberry making the dessert extremely sweet. Sugar Tooth Alert!
Located in the ONGC Lane, the one tries to address the fusion palate and does a pretty good job at that. The menu is limited but very practical, seating and setting inside is a bit boxy but again practical. The best part of this place has to be the food, yummy tasty and what appears to be clean. They are able to get out the fusions well. Had the tellicheri pepper chicken, jalapenos chicken tikkas, southern chicken tikkas. Dal Pakwaan, Sindhi Kadhi and a mutton biryani. No Disappointments. The 4* is only for the avg interiors and fungus on part of the ceiling.
Nice place to visit with family n friends .superb value for money
I went to this place on Sunday evening with my childhood friend and his family. We were greeted warmly at the restaurant and later guided through the food and the unusual bar menu. We tried pani puri shots and few other cocktails. The food was delicious, we tried variety of starters. Food quality is very good, ambiance is pretty cool, hospitality is nice. Overall I would give 4.5 stars for this place. I would definitely recommend this place.
Wanted to try this place for a long time as the menu fascinated me. Had a lot of other things as well but could not take images for all of them. Its a must-try place as the cocktails and food are super
And it was called Yellow - A nice quaint place tucked in bylanes of Bandra nearest landmark will be Lilavati hospital (easily locatable via Google Maps). The ambiance is cute yet quirky with dim yellow lights and comfortable sofa chairs. They have outdoor sitting too. Coming to food it boasts of fusioned version of classic indian dishes! What I liked was how cult dishes from every part of India were included in the menu with a twist right from Litti choka to dal pakwan. For starters we ordered Jhalmuri puchka shots. It was basically hifi version of Pani Puri which was decent, would have been great if they had served meetha chutney too. For mains we ordered Paneer Makhni. It included generous amount of Paneer Makhni with kasoori methi naan along with raita and salad. It was really nice. The kasoori methi naan went well with mild flavours of panner Makhni. They even have multigrain tandoori roti! For dessert we ordered Rasgulla truffle with Irish Cream. Rasgullas cited with chocolate along with cream sprinkled with bits of gems. Loved the concept! Overall the place and food is nice. Also the staff was welcoming and suggested the dishes well.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere with a modern touch to the ambience n food is what attracted us there and we r glad we dint get a slightest of disappointment to our taste palate or to our eyes n mind...
The cocout lime prawns soup is a must try for which leaves a nice creamy flavorsome taste on ur palate..
Chicken with cheese stuffed in chille fritters were osmm too...
In mocktail we had Pomeco... super yummm again...
Main course was superbbb too..
Deserts rasgulla truffle must say dont go wid the notion if u dont like rasgulla u wont like this too..
This was out of d world... a MUST try for sure..
And last but not d least.. filter kaapi yogurt with sesame jaggery.... a completely different combination n flavor u would definetely not regret eating...
The staff was very friendly n courteous too...
I absouletly dont have any cons to say for this place
The food was good but dineout was denied because of no prior booking which is not a condition.
Also service charge was compulsory
Food-4/5
Ambience-4/5
Service-4/5
Value for money 4/5
Small in space yet it's quite worth spending time over here, the taste of food is quite delicious and flavorful, the starter here is very awesome and tasty.

Highly recommend this outlet and a must-try. Great job to the entire FNB team and also the Management for shaping up such a beautiful elegant experience.
The flavour in the food at this place was top notch. The modern Indian cuisine is done fairly well. The only reason for a 4 star is that the food was quite heavy. Everything was more or less topped with cream. The ambience was quite nice and refreshing. The charcoal idlis & black dal will be my two top picks. The place has a single bathroom and so that is a bit of a pain
So I was out for lunch on a Sunday at a place, And I was Called Yellow. Based in Bandra west, this place is calm Casual Dining outlet.
The service here is quite impressive with the friendly crew prompt with their hospitality with smile.
To rehydrate ourselves from the terrifying hot Mumbai weather, we opted for Yellow Tonic. Combination of Aloe vera, Pineapple and basil does magic here and refreshingly good.
We tried the coconut lime prawns soup, this creamy soup was one of the best I have tried till date.
Panko Crusted Prawns, crispy prawns well presented but tasted okayish.
Malvani Fritto Misto. This mix of Squid, fish and prawns in a medium spicy batter rava coated. Could have been better if it was spicy and the mango yogurt combination doesn't goes well here.
Main Course comes to the rescue with Tellicherry Pepper chicken going well with the Neer Dosa. This gravy is must try.
Talking about the desserts, Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream was something unique, really loved the irish cream. A fab dessert must be tried.
Blueberry Double ka Meetha as the name says was too sweet and that doesn't go well with me.
But overall, a wonderful dining experience at this place AND IT WAS CALLED YELLOW.
Cool cozy restaurant brand from Mumbai is now part of Namma Bengaluru culinary scene. Situated at sahakar nagar , the place has a good food options in the menu along with melange of interesting drinks
And It Was Called Yellow this beautiful place located near Bandra Reclamation. It has two separate section of seating outdoor and Indoor.. Beautiful, well decorated ambience and cooperative staff these are key highlights.

1. Charcoal Button Idli
2. Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream
“And It Was Called Yellow” is a restaurant near Bandra Reclamation, serving great Modern Indian dishes with a twist.
Coming to the food, we tried a lot of items, but to name a few of the highly recommended items to try are
Pomeco – Slushy drink made of Pomegranate
Yellow Style Quinoa & Vegetable Salad. Fresh and healthy start of the meal. Tasty and nutritious.
Classic Tomato Soup – Super tasty tomato soup served with Channa chor gharam.
Charcoal Button Idli – A different style of mini idli with Charcoal.
The Greek Seekh – Super yummy Seekh kabab served in a very different style. Super soft and tasty.
Andhra Style Fish & Chips – Deep-fried big size fish pieces with French Fries. Just perfect to along with your drinks.
And do not forget to end your meal on a sweet note with
Rasgulla Truffle with Irish Cream – Simply wow. Try it for yourself to know why this cannot be missed when you are “And It Was Called Yellow”
The service should have been a little better, but the delicious food makes it up for the waiting time.
Simple and minimalistic decor. Loved the food here and the limited menu. This place has a good cosy vibe and lovely service. The serving portions are comparatively large and every dish has a twist while maintaining the authenticity of the original preparation.
And It Was Called Yellow - This is all about Joy Freshness, the Warmth Feel and comfort food. Situated at Reclamation (Bandra) Opened 3 weeks back, this place serves some good food. They are sure to get the Liquor Licence next week. Lovely Dining Experience authentic Indian Cuisine with a twist yet Indian.
Started with the Creamy Rich Coconut Lime Soup - Lovely texture with a ting of lemon throughout, Diced chopped pieces of Prawns a bit of chilli to give the hit and balance the subtle creamy/coconut taste. Medium size fresh catch prawn as a garnish. Was good.
Hara Moong Wadi salad - this was good. Tangy/Sweet/savoury this had it all. Home like Moong wadi gave that crunchiness to the salad. Salad leaves fresh with Tamarind Jaggery Dressing gave that Tangy/sweet taste. Yogurt balanced the flavours. Nice portion. At 245/+ it's a good dish.
Jhalmuri Puchka Shots - Presented well. However when one relates to Jhalmuri it takes you to East of India and the spices and flavours - Missed the Punch. For me it was just a normal Pani puri. However the Puri was crispy and the Pani had the Spicy taste. Chef if you can just make this authentic would be great.
Blue Cheese Naan - Presented in a small Sigri. 4 pieces of Fluffy Naan stuffed with a blend of Blue cheese/ Mozzarella to balance the sharpness of the blue cheese. A bit of spices and green chillies added to the flavour.
The Greek Cheese - I did not have this . However the texture looked good. Presented well. Texture was rusty. Beetroot Seekh stuffed with Feta. This was served with a couple of shots and pomegranate dip. Maybe next time.
Chicken & Cheese Mirchi Vada - Fried (no oil) this was good. Minced chicken with spices and chilli along with cheese stuffed inside the Bhavnagari chillies served with mayo dip which Thecha had mixed with it. 3 Hugh pieces which were enough. Minced chicken/Cheese went well. Something different.
Skipped the mains - It was Curd Rice (Comfort food) made well served with Homemade pickle and papad. Balance of tadka. Overall nice.
Dessert - Must have Rassogulla Truffle with Irish Cream - this was rich/creamy. Chocolate Rassogulla enhanced the dish. Their version of Irish cream was good. Not that sweet. Overall a lovely combination. Do try out.
Overall - This place has a lot of potential. Do try the Kokum juice as well. Would have loved to try the Malvani Fritto misto/Tellicherry Pepper Chicken (maybe next time) Wish you guys the best.
As soon as you enter this place, you get such a warm and cozy feeling. Its not a huge place but just so warm and pretty. Not only is the place a win win, so is the food and service as well.
We ordered for the Baked Litti for starters and I must say it is one of the best Littis I have had. The perfect balance of flavours with the authentic ghee and aloo chokha . Absolutely loved it.
Then for the mains we had the Sindhi Curry, rice and Aloo Tuk. This was really good too, although I would have liked it even more had the curry been a bit more spicier. But that's just a personal choice 😉.
For dessert we had the rasgulla with Irish cream and once again this was bang on, such a melt in the mouth experience. A must have😍.
All in all I would definitely want to revisit and try the other dishes.
Kudos to the polite staff and the wonderful prompt service.
