Shree ram boarding is my old gangs favorite hang out point. We used to hangout a few times before when i used to work around this area. This is a remarkable place for seafood and no doubts for drinks too. It is a bar set up mostly like the old aged ones but we made some good memories here.
My friend collected a a parcel for us as he told us it is not a very women friendly place and most people come here just to get drunk. Discarding that, food was finger licking good. Most of their dishes are really good, some seafood dishes are amazing like crab masala and prawns masala. Quantity I feel was too less but not sure was it less in the parcel.
Shree Ram Boarding House is situated at Girgaum, mumbai. Restaurant is actually...bar & restaurant. Restro is famous for Sea food and Malvani Food! Setting arrangment is quite short & congested. But crowd is quite good over here. Best for family, group of 4/6 peoples.

One sunny Sunday afternoon the good wife was bored to cook and we had made a pact to visit restaurants in our vicinity, so we chanced upon this hidden gem in Girgaum, one of the few seafoods joints, it's a very old establishment , was quite vary about visiting this place with my wife, but they have separate seating for family, good place to guzzle a few beers for Sunday lunch and eat seafood. The prawns thali, specially the javla are not to be missed. Chicken boneless thali is another excellent option, I'm currently at my nascent stage of fish eating so won't comment on the same, but yes looking at wife downing the surmais and paplets, it's good food. Value for money. Honest advice don't visit in big groups, the table are cramped and seating for 4only. So avoid. Overall love this place and visit quite often. Kimaya.naik
Honestly, I had very low expectations from this place the moment I saw the long queue & shady permit room style vibe of the place. We waited a good 25 mins before we had to share a rather dirty table with some drunk patron who looked like he’s having a rough day. I’m happy to note that I was gobsmacked by their desi chicken masala, crab masala and fried fish that defied all expectations of what I had come to expect from a decent Malwani meal. The consistency of the gravies and dense flavours were superlative & so so so gratifying. I was hooked & I wanted to break into song! Such perfect balance & spice. It felt almost too good to be true. I am going to be certainly ordering in from here or picking food up from here whenever a great ‘Malwani’ craving arises in me. Do not go here for the ambiance or experience. Dive straight into their menu where the freshest and most delicious surprises await your hungry stomach! It really was that good.

It's a new search for me and it was worth it. It's bar and restaurant, where families are also welcomed... For them they have a different sitting. Prices of the food is also good compared to the food which they serve. For Me I ordered rava fry bombil, mandeli, fried basa, chicken lolly pop, one chicken kholhapuri thali, Desi chicken, along with vade and chapati. Frankly speaking I was not disappoint by any of my order coz every dish was delicious in its owns way and specially the sea food was mouth watering for me, the thali was nice as it had vade or chapati, good quantity chicken also with chicken curry which was tasty small portion of rice and a solh kadi Never this kind of solh kadi before. You can also have a plain rice with their fish curry which can please for tummy. And the service was quick and the staff was kind. Place to invest something for them who are really want the taste.
Had never heard of it until 2-3 months ago. Someone who took me here informed this place is usually very corwded. It was really crowded. The food here is delicious, we ordered a few starters and had drinks. The service is okay, as similar as you would find in any regular, local bars. The usp is usually the food here I guess. This place is crowded even on weekdays. Is it worth a visit? For the food, yes it is.
One of the best restaurent and bar in budget for one. Very budgeted. Crab thali..best to have over here. Paplet fry, chicken lollypop, surmai fry, etc. You also get alcohol. So a fish thali with a beer is the best combination to have over here.
This restaurant doesn't have fancy, fine-dine ambience but you won't find such delicious seafood anywhere else, not even in those fancy restaurants. Period.
Prawns Koliwada, my absolute favourite here followed by almost all of their fish and prawns dishes. It's fresh and well marinated. I was genuinely surprised as even their crispy chicken was really good. They also have limited quantity of Caramel Custard available for dessert which is amazing. Keep in mind that this restaurant is quite full all day long, reservation is must if you are going for dinner.
With economical rates and quality food, this restaurant is must visit especially for those who like seafood (home and restaurant style). Before ending this review, if you ever visit this restaurant, don't ever forget to try their Sol Kadi. Trust me, it's the best you'll ever have!
Superb place, perhaps the finest for a pure fish meal. The Bombil Thali is the best one I've ever had!! And the best part is it's quite economical too. The chicken sukka thali is also amazing.

Had to try for two days to get to a table. This place is as famous as advertised. A restaurant and bar, for family and friends. A wee bit on the expensive side.
Better to call ahead and get reservations. But if you're willing to wait for 20 odd minutes, you'll be seated just fine.

Commonly known as Ishkripa amongst the local Girgaonkars this restaurant is supposed to be family restaurant and bar however there are hardly any families you will find here. Crowd is decent and so are the prices.
Their thalis are really good, food is very much homemade kinda especially subzis and is filling. Sol kadhi is more on sweeter side and doesn't go well with rice, better drink it as an appetiser or as a digestive.
I find the Gravy masala they use over burnt which makes the gravy more darker and a little bitter in taste. I would recommend their sea food over chicken dishes.

A gem in the busy Girgaum area. Its a Joint Venture between a Maharashtrian and a Parsi. Since Parsi is involved, you can be sure of the quality of alcohol, pure and clean alcohol. And the Maharashtrian looks after the food aspect. Good clean flavours, wholesome portions, and fresh food. Had the Mandeli fry with the drinks which were a large portion and were relatively fresh considering the season now. For dinner had a Chicken Thali. Extremely tasty, well balanced and the service is impeccable. The waiters ever ready to serve you whatever needed as per your request. Definately a small place, but worth going and all in all a very very decently priced joint. Paid approx 200 bucks travelling to Girgaum from Shivaji Park, but was well worth it. A place for Sea Food and Chicken lovers to indulge in fresh, wholesome food at economical prices. Will surely repeat a visit there.

Been there several times in last 2 years, Budget restaurant for Food and Drinks. A busy bar, drinks available at very reasonable price,and its a ac restaurant. It is located on main road, but, hard to find. Food is good here, typically konkani food. Prawns sukke and kombadi vade is the best here, and very reasonable. I usually have prawns sukkk, which is made in thick gravy. Chicken sukka is made in thick gravy, delicious and very gentle yet tasty gravy. Vade is always tasty here, not to be missed. thoug the menus is quite extensive, havent really tried other items on menu, inspite that I have visited the place at least 10-12 times. not a great place for the family visit, thoug they reserve 4 tables for family. It is basically a bar, primariy and seconday its a restaurant. service is quick. Save money visit Shree ram boarding house.

This is my hub to to unwind and untwine after work. Along with the regular stuff - the food is good. If you think this place isn't for girls then I was sorry to disappoint you but it does.
