Monginis is one of the first cake shops in Mumbai. They were known for introducing many new items to the Indian Market such as Cheese Cakes, Desserts, Pitawich Rolls, Mayonnaise Rolls and much more.
This outlet is a fairly decent outlet among hundreds of other outlets across the city.
I feel one needs to innovate keeping authenticity in mind. Their chefs, confectioners, and bakers have done a good job so fat but there's much scope left for design and branding. Let's not forget this place was once the first name in the city for ‘Celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, engagements and special event's.
In a world of stiff competition and Ecommerce, Monginis has to think differently. Besides delivering conventional Cakes and other snacks like puffs, bread rolls, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches, Monginis also needs to dynamically caters what's selling out there. People look for international cakes and of course authenticity.
Monginis does offer personalized cakes, pastries, chocolates, special seasonal confectioneries, cookies, snacks like puffs, bread rolls, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. However these are ages or maybe decades old.
The pricing is superb. You don't feel cheated. This is one big advantage they have but again there's much competition there too.
Over the years I've tried a lot of cakes such as Black Forest, Dutch Chocolate, Chocolate Marquise, White Forest, Fruit of the Forest, Passion Fruit, Blueberry and Walnut, Coffee and Hazel nut. They are indeed delicious but much can be done to dominate this segment.

Well we ordered the Gulliver's Gold Cake and it was awful. I dunno what made me feel like my arteries hardening the cake or those freaking Ferrero Roche's on it. Never ever have I had such a bad experience with a Chocolate Cake. Apart from this one encounter I've got Black Forest Cake and White Forest Cake from them which is a true delight. Also the Chicken Puffs and Chicken Patties are great as not only me but also my uncle likes it. So we try to get them whenever we get the chance. A nice place. If you are willing to cross the road and explore the world other than Oven Hot.

Monginis goes synonymous with pastries and grabbing a munchy especially among college crowd. Their pastries are pocket friendly and yum.They have been serving pastries and birthday cakes from more than 2 decades.
Their cakes are fresh, soft and creamy. Think of a birthday cake and shapes like heart , Mickey mouse, Donald ,bunny etc.. Monginis is the first name that comes to your mind simply because they were the first one's who introduced customized cakes and variety of shapes to make children happy. My personal favs include their pineapple and black forest cake. They are drool-worthy! *_* Besides cakes their quick snacks like pizzas ,puffs,samosa's are also a worth try!
I love the truffle pastry and the zebra torte.
From the time I was in the kinder garden I always had cakes frm here on my birthdays... So this point wil always make it stand out...
