We really liked the Chutneys and Bisibelle Bhaat. Dosas were good if not great.
However, Sambar, Pongal need major improvement. Also we found this to be overpriced.
Pros : Quick service
Cons : Pricing, Authentic taste is missing
Verdict :
If you are in Vileparle and you crave South Indian Food, then you can opt for it. But again, there are better places like Dakshinayan!
Taste – 3.5/ 5
Ambiance – 3/5
Service – 4/5
Value for money –3/5
Paradise for south Indian food lovers.
They have authentic south Indian dishes in theirs menu and they also serve pav bhaji, pizza and sandwiches, the prices are reasonable.
The seating area is simple and spacious enough for group.
I tried their curd rice it was a bit salty, the kanchipuram idli was the best, Kerala parotta was crisp and nice. Filter coffee is a must try.
Their special ice cream are amazing as well.
Must try filter coffee ice cream and paan ice cream.
The staff is friendly, provides quick service.
The washroom is terrible need to be cleaned.
There is parking space available outside.
They offer takeaway and delivery.
The place is not accessible ♿❌
It's a good restaurant. I had rasam vada and jaggery coffee. Rasam vada taste was good, black pepper flavour was very mild or missing.
Coffee seems very good but jaggery coffee is not recommended. Coffee taste was very different with jaggery. It was more jaggery taste and coffee taste was lost. Service is good.
If you like south indian food then Arya Bhawan is your all time go to place. Now opened in vile parle near the station is a little small space but has a typical vibe.
in south indian food i like Idli the most and arya bhawan serves a variety of it my favourite is brahmin idli soft and poured with ghee and mulagapudi chutney.
we were 3 of us and we ordered our own choice of dishes and shared with each other, portion was a nice and sufficient Mysore dosa with masala which you have to order whenever you dine here, the sabji with aloo, pyaaz & tomato is super delicious and different from usual.Had rasam vada, ragi dosa and jaggery sheera and end with mandatory filter coffee
perfect south indian treat. They also keep sambar powder and mulagapudi chutney for sale. you can get madrasi paan on the counter.
because of the busiest road parking is a challenge
staff is very good
well maintained hygiene
Really authentic south indian food, this compares to the ones i had in mysore, udipi or chennai
Had a full south Indian meal, everything was just the right quantity and taste.

I loved the food and filter coffee. If you love South Indian and you want authentic taste. You must visit here.
Arya Bhavan is one of the well known places for breakfast near Vile Parle East station. It has various branches all over mumbai. The place provides you with a South Indian food with a totally south Indian style and taste. This is a family restaurant and during evening you will find but difficult to find a place and they do not take bookings it's on first come first serve basis. The taste is the main thing, on the very first bite of any item in the menu you will get to know the authenticity of the place. You can go around 8-8:30 you will be able to find a place to sit. You can really try some South Indian cuisine over here with some authentic taste. I felt it is bit over rated, like for authentic food this is the place but I felt it is expensive as well.
Dishes that we tried :
1. Mini idli and Rassam
It was really great. I never tried rassam before so I am not aware of the taste how it could be. But it was bit tangy with after taste of spicy and it was not thick at all. Idli's were small fluffy and very soft.
2. Mini idli with Sambhar
A very much south India taste in sambhar. You can crush your idli into sambhar and then add chatni with every bite and then you can enjoy the south Indian taste of it.
3. Rava onion dosa
Really great taste, you can have a bit taste of onion with crunch of rawa dosa. Dipping it with sambhal and chutney.
4. Badam milk
I personally felt it was over rated because the quantity and the taste was nothing great and it is of Rs. 85 for a cup of it. And I'll suggest you to mix it before use because there maybe a chance that you find sugar and cardamom at the bottom of it.
5. Mendu wada with chutney:
The mendu wada is made of udad dal and served in a banana leaf along with chutney and sambhar. You can also ask for spicy chutney they will be providing you that.
Awesome authentic South Indian delicacies. Brilliant food. Will definitely go again. The service was top notch, the waiter was very attentive and prompt.
Now Arya bhavan is shifted inside a building due to construction, I ordered Medu wada, Cheese Maysoor dosa, Cheese sandwich and 2 bottles of limbu pani. Experience and service for nice. 15 mijs waiting time for 2 people at 10 am sunday morning. Would prefer Ram Ashray over Arya bhavan for limbu pani SPECIALLY 😉
The food is excellent. Everything you expect from a South Indian speciality restaurant. We ordered medu wada, podi idli and a rava sada dosa. The dosa was one of the crispest dosa's we had in a long time. They serve extra sambhar and chutney even before you ask for a serving. Filter coffee was also very good.
Food was absolutely delicious. It was so good that I didn't click pictures 🤣
Just the bill.
Southern charm delivered in the finest and best possible way. Cuts down my travel time to central part of city. Absolutely served as they are serving since years. Being a south indian, I am too critical of South indian food served in the city, yet this one is a rare gem.
Loved the food. The vada sambar was tasty and came out piping hot. I gave one star for service as I was waiting for a good 1/2hr and asked twice for water before someone obliged. The atmosphere is very much like any udipi. You go here to eat not chitchat and take ur time to visit with family n friends. Again food was delicious.
