The service was good. Tomato soup is better than any other soup available here. I suggest to try kulcha which was good. Best selling are visible bath , butter masala dosa , bonda sambar. Rava dosa was ok ok. U don't get rice in North Indian thali .need to order separately

Very nice restaurant, quite
popular in Mysore. I have been a
frequent visitor, dropping by
almost every time I pass
through Mysore. This time
have to settle down for
executive meals and

sold out! Sumptuous meals, no
complaint really! The classical

The place gets extremely crowded during lunch. Hence it is highly advisable to go a little early. Their South Indian thali is good. They also serve the best Bisse bile bath in the town. Service is quick and efficient.

Had been to this place based on reviews on Zomato....the place and food lived upto the expectations. The quality of food is very good. The price for meals is Rs. 70 and is definitely value for money. We went there twice. The second time, chapatis were over... So they provided with an additional cup of rice, which is appreciable. Tiffin items (bonda-soup) was also good. The only thing we didn't like was standing by the tables waiting for others to finish eating so that we can sit. This is a bit awkward. But overall the quality of food and the price is very good. Must visit place for lunch (meals). It is simple food with good taste.

It's a good place for super south indian food. The advantage of this restaurant is that till 10 pm night you can get south indian food, including meals. Also it's cheap and a good family place. Other cuisines like Chinese and North indian are not upto the mark, but tolerable. Overall a place for south indian foodie.

Idli vade and Pongal tasted good too. Have to wait a bit to get table as there are no reservations but totally worth a few minutes of wait. I'd totally recommend this place for some delicious breakfast.

Almost 18 year old south Indian restaurant, no 3 in cleanliness and hygiene in whole of Mysuru - such is the place Mahesh Prasad.

Basundi is served here in earthen pot and its heavenly. I could not stop at one. We ordered kulcha curry, rava idli, udin bonda and dahi poori. Every dish here was quality. I did over eat ;)

Food for heart and soul. Has been over 2 hours now, but I cant seem to forget the taste of food. A must visit place if you in Mysuru. Extra points for humble and helpful staff, shinning cleanliness and on time service.

Mahesh Prasad is house turned into a restaurant near Ballal Circle. It’s a vegetarian tiffin place serving authentic Indian cuisine. For lunch, they have 3 varieties of meals- executive, south and North Indian. Rest of the the day, they serve dosas, flavoured rices, chapati, poori, chaats etc. Its a place with a homely feel with equally good taste and service.

Parking - 4 star you can park the car on the side of the road. Though no dedicated parking for the hotel
Ambience - 3 star Slighty cramped and seats were looking old and not clean.. No seat management during peak time. You need to wait seats and find one your own.. ☹
Food - 5 star... taste of the food was awesome.. I have tried only South Indian dishes it was good... for breakfast I had set masala, Pongal and chow chow bath... all had awesome taste...

A good place that provides nice food. This place is always crowded so be prepared to wait. The noon meals are served on the basis of token system. The taste is good and no complaints can be made regarding the quality and quantity of the food served. For lunch if you're there by 12:30 then you can expect to find seats easily, but after 1pm and in the evening after 7pm you'll find heavy crowd and will find difficulty in getting a seat. The seats aren't alloted as per first come first serve basis, it all depends on your ability to spot a seat and occupy it.
The overall verdict is that no complaints regarding the food and staff, but be prepared to wait.

Have  visited this place twice and both the times for lunch.

Ambience - It is a very simple restaurant which is light on the pocket so nothing great about the ambience. It is quiet a big place which can accommodate more than 50 people. The main thing worth mentioning is that it is a very clean and hygenic place. They have washrooms as well which is well maintained unlike other small Darshinis.

Service - Whatever you order it will be served in 5 min even when the place is full. The Staff is attentive but not very polite.

Food - There was only rice dishes during lunch, breakfast items like Dosas are not available in the lunch time. In our 1st visit we had a South-Indian meal and Bibelebath, in the 2nd visit we had South-Indian meal, Pulao and Basundi.
South-Indian Meal - Consists of 1 chapathi, pickle, dry vegetable fry, vegetable curry, a bowl of rice, rasam, sambar, curds, buttermilk, sweet and a papad. Everything was good but the sagu was average. It is filling for 1 person.
Bisibelebath - I am a Bisibelebath fan but I did not like it even a bit here. It had too much unwanted masala and was spicy.
Pulao - It with a cup of Raitha. Again this also had too much masala which was unnecessary and it was oily. It had some deep fried bread crumbs along with vegetables.
Basundi - The best dish I have had here. The quantity was also good.

If you are here for lunch then please just have a meal, Bisibelebath and Palao is a big NO also don't miss Basundi for dessert. I'm definitely visiting this place for breakfast to try their famous Masala Dose!

So we stood in line to get in and were asked to get coupons for lunch meals. We ordered two south indian meals after getting a table ( required a little bit of pushing and tugging ) and a bonda soup we ordered at the table.
Bonda soup i wouldn't order again. .... Was just okok

It is one of my favourite places in Mysore for authentic south indian breakfast and meals. A friend suggested me this place 2 years back and ever since then I have been going to Mahesh Prasad once every month for breakfast. They have Chinese and north indian food as well but I've never had that there. Their masala dosa with delicious tomato chutney, Pongal and set dosa followed by piping hot filter coffee are my all time favourite. It's very famous among the localites and so be prepared for some waiting when you go there. I found the staff a bit rude on many occasions. Nevertheless, its a must visit place for a good south indian meal in Mysore.

I would rate this restaurant high simply for its quality and hygiene. The place is bustling during lunch times so plan accordingly and be prepared to wait. I tried quite a few items off the menu beginning with the southindian thali was OK, I'm not used to the typical south Indian flavors. But for about 60₹ it's quite a good deal. Further we had the paper masala dosa which was as humongous as it was tasty. No complains, straight from the batter to the chutney and sambar everything was perfect. Further i had the benne masala dosa which means butter Masala dosa which too was great. Crispy and buttery. The rava idli were excellent too. Then we had the chandrahara for dessert which was a local fried sweet in badam milk. Finishing off had the signature filter coffee. Amazing place amazing meal. Highly recommend 👍👍

We ordered French fries, mushroom pepper dry, roti curry, onion soda and curd rice

French fries was crisp n hot but loaded with chat masala. Mushroom pepper dry was delicious n nice. Onion dosa was fantastic yummy n the best of the lot. Roti curry was just alright.

I wish they could maintain quality in times of rush. But the taste is authentic n good. A touch oily.

This is a service hotel located in Mysuru

1. Ambiance – The place is good and clean. This has a feeling of a traditional look and one has to appreciate the fact that they have still retained the old chairs and tables, but all in good condition. This itself is + point for an outsider.

2. Service – The service level is really great. Need not spend too much time for waiting. They serve the food pretty quickly.

3. Taste – One who had idly in southern part of Bangalore might not like idly here. But the taste was reasonably OK. Some might like the sambhar and some might not as I could not get the typical taste of sambhar served in Bangalore.

Another item what I tried was Dosa. Wow!! Very yummy and delicious. This is one of the item which steals lot of customers heart. The local people might not appreciate this place but any outsider who would like to have traditional dosa should visit this place.

4. Behavior of staff – Very polite and helpful too.

5. Variety – This hotel has all items of a typical south indian restaurant where one will not be disappointed.

6. Price – The price is very economical. Worth paying for the food.

To conclude it’s a good place and I would love to visit once again if I visit Mysuru

An old house turned into a hotel. Serves great South Indian and North Indian food. Idly, dose(masale, set, set masale) are all very tasty. Morning breakfast has rice items including pulav which was one of my personal favorite (I stayed in Mysore for 15 years and I was a regular at this place). Evening snacks include south Indian delicacies   like shavige bath, mangalore bajji, bonda soup/sambar etc. They also serve chats. North Indian food service starts from 6:30-7:00 in the evening. Manchurians are also tasty. Try the basundi here which is divine. Ambiance is OK. Staff is courteous. Will get crowded on weekends and on holidays. Mahesh Prasad is not just a hotel - It's an emotion for me! Been having food here since 2002 - 20+ years now, and everything is the same! One of the best places for South Indian breakfast in Mysore. Love the crispy Vada, Set Masala dosa and Poori. Surprisingly, their North Indian tastes amazing too - Cutlet is my all time favorite. During peak times in the morning / evening and on weekends, you'll have to wait a bit since it gets crowded. There's nobody managing the waiting list, so you'll have to find the next empty table yourself - this may be an awkward experience for first timers :)

It's great for sure, Numbers of items available. Clean and tasty at an affordable price, good parking space, good atmosphere, it actually deserves a 5 star no doubt. But the reason for 4 stars is it's too crowded we need to wait for seats (if the taste is good, yup it's gonna be crowded). Might be a good idea to avoid weekends. Other than that everything is fantastic. Recommended - Big Puri :-)

One of the best Vegetarian food joint in Mysore , specially if you come to visit famous Ayurvedacharya Pundit M.S. Adishesha . This place opens at around 9 am and not before that . Very crowded always . The service is quick. Rates are affordable. Timings of the meals and tiffin are more or less fixed. Coffee is to die for . bonda soup is a must try . Rice plate is exceptionally good. Just that it`s a bit too loud . The calling over from the waiters to the supply counter is normal

wholesome, budget friendly restaurant; visit on a weekday to enjoy the good food. Weekends are crowded with tourists / out of town visitors; 1 star less for: seating-we only have to search; service takes a little longer
