As we get the taste of homemade food...
Affordable and delicious only two words are enough to describe it.
This thali has literally everything. Right from chapati to shrikhand and also kadi.

This place behind a theatre in Mysore in centre of the city. Very hard to find but it’s worth n beyond to visit this place. It’s in underground so watch out. Not much display boards as well. I had been there had their thali. Probably the best vegetarian thali I ever had. The taste also no match to other veggi restos in Mysore. It’s neither expensive as well the unlimited meal was around 160 ~ 180 bucks. I recommend to everybody in Mysore who haven’t given it a thot. I would definitely visit again when I find time. 1star less for the ambience cos it’s not even up to the mark.

This place is awesome when you are craving a good home cooked thali...they serve food with a lot of love and care...The hospitality is amazing...They wont let you stop eating....The Aam ras (Mango pulp sweet dish) is amazing...The price of thali is also reasonable...When you come to mysore do visit this place for a little Jain touch.

If you looking for home made food, less oily, satvik, Jain food then this is the place.

Their only option veg thali is worth to eat.

One subzi, two curries, daal, hot rotis, snacks, salad, chutney, shrikhand, gulabjamun, papad, curd

A very satisfying tasty food. The place is easy to locate as it's in market place however entrance is little weird as it's in basement

No five star ambience However very good service.

If you want home like food, it is worth spending Rs 170 on this thali, desi ghee, jaggery and vegetables tastes homely too(dal and sometimes sabji is sweet, that is why i gave 4 star). The price might seem high for simple food but it is worth spending this much.

ps: its a buffet.

Being a Gujarati I was thrilled to know that there is a restaurant serving Gujarati food in Mysore! Purohit is the place where I head to when I miss gujju food. I have been going to Purohit since past two years now and their menu for the thali has remained more or less same, I feel they should bring some variation. They serve unlimited hot phulkas with ghee , bajre ki roti, three sabzis, daal, rice, papad, dhokla, salad, pickle, curd, srikhand and gulab jamun as a part of their thali. For dinner they have khichdi as well. They also serve thepla, poha and poori bhaji for breakfast. It's a humble set up so @don't expect anything posh but it's a must visit restaurant if you are in Mysore.

There are two purohit restaurants on the same road. I went to the one which was in the basement as this is the one which is popular. They serve only pulkas, Gujarati and Rajasthani thalis. When I went there, they had only Gujarati thali. The taste was good. Ambience is basic and service is fast. The only place in Mysore that serves authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani meals.
PS: you need to be in an empty stomach to finish the whole thali.

Visitors to Mysuru - you can try the Unlimited Gujarati - Rajasthani meals here.

Place is in a bylane behind KSRTC stand. Purohit is in the basement of a hotel.
Forget parking space. Ambiance is very ordinary. And it gets crowded very fast. Then you can see people scurrying around and lots of noise in the air.

However the thali is great. They have green chilli, achar etc on table.
Thali includes great rotis, dhokla, basic salad, gul roti / sweet boli, rice, 4 gravies - dal subzi was tad sweet, aloo subzi , paneer subzi, one more subzi. I did not find the kadi though
Desserts are gulabjamun, shrikand - tasty however small portions

I did feel Rs.200 was little expensive for the thali but then you can gorge as much as you want.

Visit here only if unlimited lunch is on your mind.

The thaali has some yum items. Bajra roti, hot phulkas, 3 sabji, dal, kadhi, srikandh and jamoon. All lip smacking, finger licking good! Ambience is non existent. Food is outstanding! And the service is so warm, makes one feel at home. Recommended!

Tried the khichdi kadhi plate. Wow! So simple. But so tasty and healthy.

Yummy breakfast too. Tried the aloo paratha and thepla! Mouthwatering!

Purohit is a small, no frills restaurant. Ambience and seating is basic. Pure vegetarian. It is located in a small bylane in main area of Mysore but you can reach easily by an auto or with help of Google maps.

It is always almost fully occupied. They serve Gujarati thali with numerous items like 4-5 curry vegetables, kadhi, dal, dhokla, rice, khichdi, chapattis, shrikhand, papad, pickle, chaas(buttermilk) ...all this for Rs. 150 with unlimited serving. It becomes Rs 170 with additional sweet dish.

Very good taste, clean and fresh preparation and service with a smile!!

Was in this surrounding to get my car's punchered tyre inflated. N it was lunch time, also my Jain friend was so happy to spot this restaurant so he pulled us in. It's a typical north indian thali restaurant. Completely diffrent masala n taste experience, if ur a south indian from Mysore Mandya region. It's unlimited thali but rate is on the higher side. It's just behind the Mysore bus stand. N the servers do speak decent Kannada which is appreciable. If ur a north indian lost in Mysore thinking where to eat do visit here

During my recent sojourn in Kodagu-Mysuru,I had an equally amazing food trail exploring the Kodava cuisine(exclusive to Kodagu aka Coorg) but sigh, that place isn't on Zomato. While ending my trip on a high note,I decided to drop by at this place to get a taste of the North Indian fare in Mysuru and check ifthe 'South Indian flavours' overpower it!
Purohit is an amalgamation of the Gujarati- Rajasthani cuisines and situated in a bylane aka Mohalla and I was lucky to find it(kudos to Google Maps for being helpful at times!😋).The ambiance is pretty simplistic, nothing to rave or rant about, the dilemma being that they could do with a proper washroom rather than a makeshift ill lit one(does count at times!)
Since I did drop by a bit earlier than the standard dining time,I did have to wait for some time before the thali arrived but having the dishes in a piping hot fashion, who won't mind the wait! The thali had 5 gravies(pretty savage in taste),dhokla(arrived when I was half past the devouring phase, delicious!),gul roti(jaggery and bajra rotla, dollops of ghee made it terrific!),mirchi-besan dish(don't know what it's called but loved it!),roti, achar, moong dal khichadi(heavenly!),the standard salad, gulab jamun(soft and succulent,no further description needed!),and the 🌟 of the evening, the evergreen aamras(mango puree),all of this, unlimited thankfully at 170 bucks.Pretty much VFM at the best!
The service was a sore spot though. They had 3-4 servers but they were busy fidgeting with selfies and youtube and needed frequent calls to get the dishes but nevertheless, they were affable enough not to warrant a hearing or two😋Overall, Purohit(implies a priest in Hindi, might conjure to the purity/sanctity perspective!) did help me end my trip on a high and thankfully, they did their job by keeping the 'Northie' flavours intact in good ol' South India!😃

I checked into this place for lunch and let me tell you if you're looking for a fancy pansy place and fansy pansy food then this place won't meet your expectations...but if you're looking for simple vegetarian food in a cleanish environment then this place hits the spot. They serve simple yummy veggie food and for 170 bucks you can get unlimited food. It's thali system and cuisine is Gujju/Maaru. The day I went they served is gavar ki sabzi (legume curry), aloo ki tari wali sabzi (potato with thin gravy ), dahi kabuli chana (chickpea curry in curd), sambar ( south indian daal), freshly mashed mango juice (so thick that it was almost like a rich sauce), the softest gulab jamun ever, curd and rotis with ghee on them. The food was well cooked and delicious. And it's truly unlimited coz there's no limit on how much mango mash and gulab jamun you can eat. Do try this place... The attendants really want to feed you... You can eat as much as you want with no extra charges...... Simplicity at its best.

Being a gujarati away from gujarat , this place seems like a dream come true. Went to have gujarati thali along with 3 of my south indian friends. This was the first time they were tasting gujarati food, so pressure was on me, that they should like the food. After eating they thanked me a lot for bringing them to this place to experience the taste of gujarat. The food was tasty , service was good too. One minus point is that, the ambience and seating area is not like a restaurant, it's little bit below average, but then the food is delicious, so that point is covered up.

Purohit is a treat for vegetarians who want a decent and cheap place to eat. You get a tasty thali at a small price of Rs. 150. The food was awesome. The chapatis and subzi are clearly good. The number of different chutneys they provide you adds flavor to your experience. Salad and dhokhla are very nice. I would personally recommend khichdi for khichdi lovers. Shrikhand as dessert is also finest I've ever had. You can even have lassi and buttermilk as side drinks. They are also nice as I have tried them both.
Ambiance is something that the place lacks. It is decorated as a normal restaurant but trust me don't go on appearances. The place is clean and you can eat your heart's full.

If you love Gujarati or Rajasthani food then definitely it's a perfect place! It is located on the basement of MTR Residency behind Suburban Bus Stand.

Though they serve breakfast also, it is more famous for it's 'Unlimited Thali' starting from 12pm. Ambiance is not great, it looks like regular college mess/canteen with wooden table and benches. You can see tubelights switched on everytime as there is lack of natural light.

They serve just thali post 12pm which is unlimited except Gulab Jamun, Dhokla and Srikand. He might give you his kidney but not the extra jamun as they are very strict with their policy :D

Methi ka Thepla which is a popular Gujarathi Roti which is thick and will be mildly spicy, they do that for morning breakfast but you can get that on demand or by taking your camera out :D

Unlimited Tawa Roti is served along with one oily yet superb semi dry subji, Gujarathi Khadi (similar to 'Majjige Huli') made of butter milk & Channa/Kidney Beans, Aloo Subji and Dal. FYI they serve a small cup of Srikandh which will be sweet but actually it is a side dish for roti. Srikandh is a fantastic option to eat with roti. One can have 5 to 10 rotis based on their appetite.

Dhokla is soft, fluffy and good to eat. They serve soft phulkas on demand. They serve white rice but if you go on the evening you will get 'Dal Kichidi' for the same price.

Overall you are not bothered about the ambiance then perfect place to try Gujarathi food.

The unlimited thali..the delicacies of Rajasthan and Gujarat, the home-like feel and not to forget the extra ghee that they keep on pouring onto your chappatis! It's a place where in you can forget all you diet charts and eat your heart out. Also to mention, the excellent hospitality stands as a differentiator. My recommendation: Try out the Rajasthani thali and the khichidi. Simply mouth watering!

It is a restaurant and a lodge. Very neatly maintained. Worth for money. Very kind and friendly staff. The restaurant is a Gujarathi style. Very tasty food. The only downside was the parking. We had to park our car in front of the restaurant, by the road.

The dinner was good. All items in the meal were good. We liked it. But they only accept cash and little bad attitude towards customers.

Gujarati Thali meal is available for lunch and dinner which is tasty served with 2 Sabji, Roti, Rotlo, Dal Rice, Sweet, Farsan, Papad, Salad. Morning breakfast is also available like tea Thepla and Aloo Paratha. Overall recommended place for north Indian food.

We opted for only dine in, the veg thali for lunch was really good. It was authentic gujrati thali. N for breakfast you will get poori sabji, alu parantha with achar, curd n sabji. You can also take sweets and their special tea. The restaurant is clean, food is good. Value for money. It's a pure veg restaurant.

Awesome hot to stay at low costs, also no need to worry about food also they themselves have a famous restaurant specially thali is available in according to your choice so need to worry about choosing of food and the taste is also awesome. If your choice is simple no need to worry and roam here and there. Just go and order the thali which you want like gujrathi,Punjabi, rajhastani thali and all.
