Tried the mutton pulav and mutton chops. Both the dishes were nice. The mutton was well cooked. The place is pocket friendly.

My bestie insisted this was the original Hanumanthu. After parking the car some distance, we explored Mandi Mohalla and reached here.

The place does look and feel authentic. Tiny place, just passage and nooks. We tried literally everything available on the menu at the time we went , a bit late, closer to 2pm I think. Of the rice items we tried the ghee rice, chicken palav, mutton palav, the mutton one being the best. The rice was non-oily, light and very lightly flavoured. Quite different. My friends liked it, might take getting used to for some.

Of the sides, the mutton chops were the best, just juicy deliciousness. Two big pieces in one plate. So we needed a repeat order since we were 3. The chicken fry was nondescript, can avoid this one here. The kheema balls were good but not the best I have had. I did not have the mutton liver, but my friends did and said it was average. They were out of boti and leg soup but there is a bowl of leg soup given along with the palav so we did get to taste it. It was light and nice, somewhat looked like rasam they usually give in military hotels. We did not have the stomach for the thale mamsa.

Overall good. Been wanting to try this place for a while and I could click done on my bucket list. My choice here though would be the mutton chops, not the rice.
Went a second time, the mutton biryani was consistently good but to our disappointment, they were out of mutton chops as we were late on a Sunday. Second time around we had the Kheema Balls as there were no other sides left.  Kheema balls can be avoided, it was below average. Don't miss the Mutton Chops if you are going to this outlet of Hanumanthu.

My friend took me to this place by saying have you tasted this hanumanthu briyani , I told no I have heard about it but no. Immediately he took me to this hotel saying then u must taste the original one , I said okay and we went there by 10 am I guess . And he ordered this traditional mutton briyani and keema , guys trust me this is the best hotel to taste , being a spicy lover u will enjoy it to the core

The hotel looks like some ordinary hotel but the taste and the price you pay for this mutton briyani and keema is far better than other hotels where they just give tomato rice and say its briyani

Try some traditional briyani guys 😃

Ambience : 3/5
Taste & price : 5/5

Where do i start about this place !
Just thinking about it is making me hungry ... i was introduced to this hotel by a local mysuru doctor who happens to work in the hospital near by and my goodness was i grateful to him or what ? This is the best pulav you can get your hands on ! Absolutely no question about it . I am a bangalorean ! During my engineering days I travelled in train almost every 3 days to mysore just to have lunch here ! I still cannot get enough of it ! May be i should shift to mysuru ! Totally worth evrery single thing if you get to eat here .

Ask for Biryani and any Mysorean or anybody familiar with Mysore would suggest you this place by default.
Located on a narrow bylane this place is a single floor setup which can approximately accommodate around twenty people at a time. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with photos of some of the Sandalwood stars having meal here. Food is served on Patri leaf. The taste of Biryani here is entirely different from what one gets to taste at other restaurants in Bangalore and Mysore. Food is reasonably priced and this place is worth visiting.

A small shop with awesome polao. It is mostly crowded. But it usually doesn't take long to get seat since it is kind of a service restaurant and not a place where you can sit and relax. So mostly it has a moving crowd.
Err....you see comparatively less women but the staff is very nice and polite and make you feel comfortable.Very quick service.I have been there alone and had a great meal😊😊
Oh yes...saturdays they close early...kind of a half day.So make a call before you go !

Just writing this review is making my mouth water!!!
If your mornings can begin with the droolworthy hanumanthu's biryani then your day is well begun. Came across hanumanthu's when my maternal uncle insisted I taste it and what a fabulous suggestion that was.
Famed for their melt in your mouth, fall-off-the-bone mutton in their unbeatable biryani and paaya, it will leave you only craving for more. Mildly spiced but 100% great on flavour food hits home in the first bite itself. Tried the chicken gravy with it and it was good too. My trips to mysore definitely include hanumanthu's in the itinerary. Double thumbs up would still be an injustice to the amazing food prepared here.
Any true blue mysorean would be able to guide you to their outlet that is tucked away in a tiny street. Definitely not a dine in for the ladies but you do have take away options.

This is by far the most underrated and less known restaurant in Mysore. I would really call it a restaurant but it's more like a Mess as it is called too. This place is a heaven for non vegetarians with it's STRICTLY NON VEG menu. Surprisingly they don't have even one thing which is pure veg.

Present near the KR Hospital, with hardly 100 metres away from it, it's in one of the busy places in Mysore.

The food here is good. It is different and filling. With the prices for what they have, the quantity is good and the taste is worth it. For a price of 150-200 per head, one would feel he has eaten well here.

I've never seen families coming in here and only guys. People generally get food parcelled. The ambience is actually as good as nothing but still okay and clean to have food.

Would recommend it for all non vegetarians. Visit it once and decide if it's worth it.

First....

It's a legendary place ..were its carry a legacy of a typical style of briyani which is very unique.
I use to go with my grandfather to this place when I was very young ( 12yrs) till now the taste hasn't changed... But might be a few addition on the things offered. Very mild briyani with great taste as this is cooked in chicken/ mutton stock. Chicken fry ,mutton chops and lots more all must try .don't forget to taste their keema fry .
Overall a place to visit for the legacy and taste.

Hanumanthu pilaf is a spicy one pot meat and rice dish! It's more or like a Tamil or kannadiga kiska type dish! It's very flavorful and tempting delicacy! Mutton liver and minced mutton meat also good! It's a small place with 24 seats. Clean and neat place i recommend this is for spicy food lovers and visiting Mysore people! Go for it!!

I came across this place when I googled for some nice places to eat in Mysore. It didn't fail me. The mutton pulao here is too good. Very unique taste. Highly recommended. The place is too small and had a seating capacity for 30 or so. I went on odd hours and didn't find it crowded.

An awesome place for the Non-Veg items and the whole stars goes to the Hanumanthu Matton Palav, I even tried their Nati style Keema and Chicken Masala which were equally good. But the Ghee rice and Matton Palav just make you forget all other flavors and dominates in your mouth like a king. A must-revisit place though the Place is a bit cosey with a rustic taste the Flavorful Palav Just makes you to come back again and again. I came to know why this place has such a huge celebrity fan base to have Hanumanthu Palav Again and again.

Have been visiting this place from 10yrs. Same taste and quality. Very humble staff and owner. Awesome taste but bit less quantity when compared to original hanumanthu and way more better in taste than original hanumanthu. Very limited menu is the only disappointment.
