Very good place, friendly staff
Superb taste .ours family resturant from 2 yrs. The best taste of all the resturant . We cant compare this with anyone. Butter chicken, kulcha, chilli chicken, drums of heaven, lollipop, kulfi, dal kichadi, biriyani are the orders will not miss in our menu
This weekend after doing shopping I along with my friends were very hungry...we headed for this restaurant. Its pretty popular among the locals as well as we were trying to find directions to reach here. The ambience was good...silent...dimlight...cozy. The food was great , we had ordered butter roti, malai kofta, paneer hyderabadi, malai kabab and chicken tikka masala. The staff was courteous and service was prompt.
Very nice resturant awesome ambience and good food and service is really great and and and awesome ultimately to fine with family a very nice place to being.
This restaurant has that classic ambience..The jeera rice and dal makhali combo is a must try...The best starter is a sizzling chicken maramuri..It's always better to end the meal with piece of there kulfi.
Nice ambience with courteous staff. The food was tasty. Overall a good place in terms of taste, ambience, service and an absolute value for money.
One of my favourite place for dinner...i love the food here...one of the oldest restaurants in mysore..great experience every time.earlier they had candle light dinner . Now may be only on selected days.
The food is good, service is better especially the manager who pays personal attention to each table.
If you ever go to Jewel rock try the Maramari Chicken along with their special Kulfi for desert. Trust me you won't be disappointed.
Being a weekend, long waiting was there.
Better to book a table in advance and then go.
Staff was polite and courteous.
Service was quick even after being fully packed.
Food quantity and quality were very good for both vegetarian n non veg.
Only rumali roti was the disappointing part.
Great place for non vegetarian food...their starters are amazing! Soups are great too. Delayed service is the only turn off! Dimly lit place...throughout the day. Sometimes suffocating when it gets really crowded.
Its a very good place. Taste of the food is excellent. But the ambience is not so great. It wil be little crowded. Price is not too high not too low. Good place to visit.
Been here for dinner couple of times while visit mysore.decent and cozy ambience, dim lights variety of non veg starters to choose. Gets pretty crowded on weekends.
Yesterday I went there for dinner with my friend... We have ordered chilly chicken starter... Methi Chiken n butter nan... Delicious food. Good ambience. Nice service n behaviour of the manager... They serve alcohol also... One of the best restaurants of mysuru.. It's near to mysuru palace.....
Its good place with not so great ambience. But the day we went it was very full so service was slow. Gobi tikka is a must try. Biryani is also good, full of flavors, well cooked chicken tikka.
During Mysore visit, we went to Jewel Rock for dinner. We ordered
Chicken Pepper Fry
Drums of Heaven
Chicken Hakka Noodles
Butter Kulcha
Garlic Naan
Chicken Tikka Masala
Lime Soda
Chicken Pepper Fry, Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan were delectable dishes. Hakka Noodles was average. But Drums of Heaven was pathetic, it was like roadside Chicken Pakodas.
#Average Experience...
Tried the Sunday noon lunch for veggies. Taste is good ambience n service is great .. very near to city . This place serve alcohol too. So with family could mean trouble for others!!!
The calm and cosy place is a tough transition with the chaos down the street!
When you arrive at Jewel Rock, you are immediately welcomed by a smiling and professional waiter that can also advise you on which dish to take if you lack of inspiration.
The chicken Biryani is really tasty and so is the chicken Tandoori.
The place is a bit more expensive than a usual restaurant but here you have an high quality service!
I recommend if you have the budget.
Had reshme kebab and fish Manchurian and chicken shezwan fried rice well as the name says its a jewel by all means retro look quick and sociable service and quite a wonderful food
Was planning on going to some other place but randomly decided to check this place out. And thank God that I did. Went I first entered saw this typical family restaurant type scene then went a short distance up and ended in a cozy little old style place. Seriously good ambience. Ordered a couple of beers with stuffed chicken kabab and chicken lollipop. The kababs were out of this world while the lollipop was just so so. The amount spent was pretty decent considering the food, beers and the service.
Full blown retro bar. When u enter the restaurant you will reach a family area. Ignore it. Climb one level higher. You will enter a 1970s bar. Small place. But excellently well maintained. One of a kinds ambience. The prices are wow cheap. Do not miss this in any manner. I seriously loved this place. One in a million place. Definitely a jewel.
One of the finest restaurant from long time in Mysore. Best quality food with legacy of taste..
My first option till date for a gathering with family or friends...
A bit overpriced but one of the unheard and underrated restaurants in Mysore.Great place to have North Indian food if you are in Mysore.
Ambience 4/5
Service 4/5
Food 4/5
These guys serve great tandoor starters. Good service and ambience. Food is above average. Comfy seatings. Can visit this place for get together.
I wanted to start off writing reviews with one of my favorite places in mysore and jewel rock is on par with the best. I have been visiting this restaurant for the past 20years and the food tastes the same.
We had ordered soups, paneer tikka, veg Shanghai and spring roll. Veg Shanghai was the best, it has a tinge of sweetness. Other starters were good too. We were so full after starters that we could not got to my best dish here, methi paneer. We ended with fried rice and a gravy. We also had fresh lime Soda and the thing I love about this place is the soda is not flat.
The only sore point is the service has gone down a bit but once the food is ordered we get it quick and hot.
Overall it's 4.5 on 5, taking out points for their service.
This is one place in Mysore that you just cannot miss. The ambience, the food, the music and the service make up for a very good experience. It's one of Mysore's classic old restaurants that has tried to maintain its charm all through the years. Here's my take on 'Jewel Rock' :
Ambience: 8/10
Food: 9/10
Service: 9/10
Value for money: 7/10
One of those restaurants where the music and food is so good that you don't want to leave. Try the chicken short eats, chicken Tikka biryani and their kulfi if you ever go here.
This place has always been great, from a very long time. The taste is really good.
It's a little crowded, especially during weekends, so it gets a little noisy but otherwise, it is just fine :)

Ambience: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
This is one of the very best and quite underrated and less hear restaurants in Mysore present in the heart of Mysore, near the clock tower opposite to the Mysore Palace. This place is pretty old and still well maintained.
Their food is good. Particularly the starters are exceptional. Their special veg starter is heavenly! Must try!
The main course is okayish. Some North Indian dishes could get more authentic but it's okay, they generally serve based on the customer's taste.
Service is exceptional. They have multiple managers, catering to multiple tables and taking constant feedback. It's a fine example of fine dine.
Definitely recommended.

Visited the place on my trip to Mysore.......Didn't know anything about the place before.....Let me get to the cons and pros.... Pros: The Food...we ordered the malai kabab, sweet lassi, hydrebadi mutton and kalimirch chicken as well as butter naan and some roti......and I must say food was delicious...........Cons: The service......I think most of the waiters were amatuers...except for a gentleman who was very courteus and attentive and made us feel right at home...so yeah If you are in Mysore you can check this place out but don't expect great service. Apart from that, the food and the ambience are top class....
Awesome ambiance. Wonderful taste of food. Service has to improve. Also the time taken to serve the food is very long. If your very hungry check out which item is ready to serve.
Visited for lunch.. got there at 2.00 and requested food on priority for my kids.. they were very helpful and got it arranged in 15 mins. Very courteous staff and value for money..
I've been eating at this place since I was a kid n I can vouch tht the taste simply stands out!
First time in Mysore ? This place you ought to try!
Have been visiting this place since i was a very young. They used to serve the tastiest and best food in Mysore. But of late quality has gone down and they must definitely improve on that. Otherwise 3.5 overall.
Had very nice time with my loved one.. Food quality was nice.. Service was awesome.. Had pleasant and quality food. I may visit again to taste some more items..
Was a good place..ambiance also nice...food Was nice...tandoori was better than the Chinese preparations....and plz avoid the sizzlers...coz its Not worth at all...rest all are good...staff is nice and courteous
On a safer side, will give this 3.5 than 3. We took 3 pints of beer and biriyani. One of the resto guys told us that they don't have any readymade food and everything is made to order. We ordered onion pakoras which were delivered after 15 mins. They were really fresh and we loved it. Biriyani (esp chicken biriyani) was suggested to me by the staff and was told it's a signature dish. I didn't find it that great except for two big leg prices. Tasted ok to me.
I am not sure if I have to appreciate or comment on the person who took our orders because he was one heck of a sales guy. He can literally sell you off the whole hotel. He kept on asking us about orders which was quite irritating. Any which way had a good meal and we enjoyed the beer biriyani too.
Legendary name in Mysore for over two decades. Initially place used to look a bit dull and shady (22 years back) and was the famous "bar" in town then.
Over years they have changed the decor and lighting for good.
Food is as good as it used to be. Nice North Indian food. They use excessive butter in their cooking so watch out and specify if you want less fatty food.
Nice staff and quick service. A place that can cater to large groups without too much of sweat.
The best restaurant in mysore. Service is good with decent ambience. But when it comes on food, you will get one of best food of life, made of fresh ingredients.
As a vegetarian we ordered seekh kabab then in main course we ordered Palak-Dal and Mushroom-Masala. All were great in taste. Palak dal was amazing with fresh palak. additionally we ordered two cocktail which were just ok but considering the price it was great of course.
So over all best experience and if you talk about value for money i will give 10/10.
Must visit if you ever been near to mysore palace.
Visited on my birthday with family. Gr8 ambience with good food. Paneer makhanwala with butter nan was really awesome. In non veg we had ordered garlic prawns n chicken sizzler. Both were perfect. Must visit if in Mysore. Value for money.

Loved this place! Ambiance is perfect. Butter Chicken is heavenly! Dal Makhani is not bad either. Stuffed Kulcha is something you should not miss. It goes perfect with Butter Chicken. My ratings: Taste- 10 Value for money- 9 Service- 9
This place serves one of the best tandoor items. The chicken is nicely done being moist and succulent..the quantity too is appreciable. The prices are totally worth the items. The service is quick. But there is possibility of this place getting crowded during weekends. But overall, the menu is versatile and dishes are amazing ..one of the best in Mysore.
One of the best restaurants in Mysore. The food is just amazing and it was evident they only use fresh ingredients. The service is impeccable and the staff are friendly. We tried the chicken chutput, drums of heaven and chicken achar for starters and it was one of the best and tastiest I've had in Mysore. Highly recommended!
Hailing from Bangalore was wondering if there cld be any good restaurants in Mysore!! Jewel rock she said, ohh their tandoor dishes with soups was heaven. Not to forget their quick service. It's now a must visit when ever am in Mysore.cheers guys keep it up
One of the best restaurants in Mysore with respect to consistent taste. Achaari kabaab and Chilly prawns take you to heaven. The staff is also friendly and obliging. I have never had a disappointing experience here.
Yummy food.... good ambience... but cleanliness has to be maintained. Good places to dine in with family. Few members of the staff are non pleasing.. can be better...
One of my family's favorite restaurants! We have visited this place so many times that the staff there recognize us ? the food is good! Here is a list of must haves: tandoori platter, methi chicken, butter naans and, chicken fried rice ?
I had to wait for about half an hour to get a seat. Every minute of that is worth it.
The food is very good. Especially the starters, they are brilliant.
One of the best indian restaurants in mysore.
#butter chicken
Got to know about this place last week.
Its situated near famous hotel The Park lane. You might possibly miss this place as it is a restaurant section within Maurya Hotel. So look for MAURYA hotel board..
It was so deserted from outside, but when we got in, almost all tables were occupied.
Ordered Assorted kebab as starters.
It was really tasty (with 5 different types of kebab), was cooked properly from inside and was really filling too.
Had paneer hydrabadi (paneer was so soft), assorted kultcha and romali roti as main course..It was really delicious.
Wanted to have some Gulab Jamun, Wish they had it...It was only in Menu :(
Overall very happy with the service, food and bill (around 1200 Rs for 4 people)....
Awesome food ,the panner is sooo soft loved it , but the ambiance is a real let down, needs to be worked on , service is pretty decent as well.
Excellent food and service. The ambience is quite a turnoff due to very dim lighting at night. But the food quality is excellent and the staff is pleasant.
I have been to this restaurant many times , food is nice , esp tandoori and chines cuisines , this restaurant is known for there starters ,all are good , for vegetarians they have plenty of options . this restaurant has never disappointed us and it is only restaurant were get food even after 10 : 45 pm ..
A good place to dine. The service is slightly on the sluggish side, but the food is awesome. Specific recommendation for non-vegetarians- Do try out chicken achari at this place!!
A safe bet dining place.. been here many times... my wife has been visiting it since her college days .. and most important - my daughter is happy with the food n place
I'm a regular here.
Food-wise, the best restaurant in Mysore. Whatever they serve, even a common dish, has a slight Jewel-Rick-twist to it. They have a particular taste to their dishes, that you can always identify uniquely to this place.
The service is very good. I once went here with family after I had a surgery done in my throat. I couldn't eat food with spices and anything acidic. I'd decided not to eat anything there. But, our captain got the chef to us and he clearly listened to what I could eat and couldn't, and made me a special chicken dish with the softest chicken made almost without any spice. I'm a guy who always prefers spicy and hot food. I don't enjoy bland ones. But, the way this dish was prepared, I fell in love with its simplicity.
I went back and had the same dish over 10 times since then. I used to take the dish home and eat till I recovered.
Try the Chilli Prawns and Achari Chicken Kababs. The Drums of Heaven (Tandoori Style) is also great. For vegetarians, the Veg Volcano is a nice dish. The Chicken Tikka Biryani here is also great.
Don't miss the in-house Kulfi ice cream they serve. Many people go here specially for that.
It's located in the city of Mysore. Very good restaurant in Mysore with good ambience. The service is too good and also the food. They serve both veg and non vegetarian dishes
One of my favourite restaurants in Mysore. Reasons being - the food, ambience and service.
The food is good, both quality and quantity wise. The restaurant has a very different ambience and one finds it pleasing to be seated here for lunch/dinner.
The staff are well mannered, courteous and provide excellent customer service.
Cards accepted here.
Parking for cars on the road (enough parking available).
Do note, one has to take a flight of stairs to go up to the restaurant so it is difficult for elderly citizens with walking difficulty and for people on wheelchairs.
I have been a regular visitor to Jewel Rock which is happened to be at the same place of this location. Food is amazing and it tastes so good, the staff here are courteous and help you decide the best of the dishes available on their menu. Chicken Maramari has been my favourite dish here.
Really loved the food.....they give suggestions on order also... Friendly environment....
The guy(waiter) named Vishnu , he did an amazing job suggested good dishes and was damn co operative and friendly.
Food wise it was top notch completely loved all that we tried.
Really a Jewel! Can't sum it up here while writing. The food is just awesome.
We ordered - Chicken maramari & Chicken Lollypop for Starters. Mutton and Chicken Biryani for Main course,
Caramel Custard and Mango Souffle for desert. Everything was just amazing.
Mr. Kumar the Hotel Manager suggested all the items. Best service.
They have carried the legendary service and taste so persistently. It never changes at all.. bestest service, great taste very friendly staff, great ambience and it's located in the heart of the city very accessible location.
Food is tasty. Spacious place to dine leisurely. Staff are very quick in taking orders and in serving. Only drawback is rest room. Very small, wash basin and urinals are in one place
Food is excellent!
Service of Vishnu and Antony is very excellent!
Amazing service and very delicious food. Each item was authentically cooked and fresh.
Very friendly staff. Restaurant looks very upscale inside. Food taste is great. Only one observation - though taste is quite good, the preparation is not authentic always. For example, the chicken vindaloo tasted great but not like vindaloo at all, more like methi malai chicken
It's very nice Restaurant. Food is awesome.
