Very crowded in the evenings and packed on weekends.
Separate sitting arrangements are available for smokers, non smokers and to families.
I would personally appreciate the gesture of the owner. He’s overwhelmingly good and always smiling.

We went here because we had to kill a couple of hours before our train. Although we only had beers, I am still going to give this place a 5/5 as the ambience and service was top notch. An old gentleman, who seemed like the owner personally came to our table to ask if we are well looked after, which was a very nice gesture. Looking forward to a meal here soon.
nice calm place to chill. the best chilly pork in the entire mysore is made here. even the cheese omelet is heavenly. mushroom pepper is not good. but 100/10 to pork.
Pelican has been there for the longest of time. It's a walk down memory lane for all the lakhs of customers they have served since they opened.
They have tried to keep it consistent and they have almost been successfull. Food is on point(not everything on the menu though)
My regular orders: Chilli pork. Ginger pork. Kheema Naan. Scotch egg and different pakodas. Veg food is average. The omelets are amazing. The service is fast.
Coming to beer. I feel that's it's always been diluted a little. You need 6 mugs instead of 4 sometimes.
The ambiance is what takes it all. Music is calm. Sometimes there's live music (not too good not too bad). There are different sections of of seating to choose from. Family friendly place.
Best of all is the owner of the place. Very sweet, very polite. Been there a long time. Still visits each and every table and greets every customer.

Quiet place. It's pretty old but well liked by it's regular clientele. Very good food especially the chilli chicken and cheese-garlic naan. The owner comes by every table, every night and speaks to every one which is frankly unique.
Very nice place. I am from north east and shifted to Mysore and was looking for some finger licking pork dish. I found it the only destination. Good taste and druaght was beer was as cold as your ex gf's heart (as mentioned in one of their pamphlets). Welcomed by uncle (probably the owner). Nice place. Looking for more visits :)

It’s 30+year old joint, it was called the grub house. Only food was available then, post it was reopened as Pelican in early 90’s they started serving beer. It is one of coolest place to hang out in Mysore.no loud music. Ideal place to chat over a chilled beer. It’s a Cozy joint. Not for hip hop crowd. It’s one of the oldest pubs in mysore, a popular joint for local lads. Food is very good. Service is at pace with the city
This is quite a shady place and they serve only beer. We had beer with scotch egg, egg fried rice and tandoori chicken. The ambiance is quite. They have inside as well as outside seating. The property is quite big. The food tasted good. The place catches less of attention though.
Best place to have KF draught beer and fatless chilly pork and chilly chicken. Taste remains the same from last 18 yrs or so... decent ambience for family and friends..

Very friendly staff. Everybody is polite and friendly. The prices here are very nominal. The location of this place is very expensive and the prices of the food items here are way cheaper at this location. A pitcher of beer is only rs. 450 which is very nominal. I recommend this place to all my friends here. The big boss (owner of this pub) specially checked with me to see if the order was placed and served.
Amazing place!!! The tandoori chicken was well made with the right flavour beer was cold and crisp. Even the noodles was extremely tasty . Great service!!! Mr Muthanna the owner personally walked to all the tables and ensured our experience was good!!! Great place overall!!!

Started coming here from 1994 (have been chased out a lot for being underage by the uncle, too), I'm very certain that Pelican is surely one of the best places in Mysore and a surefire stopover on the way to Coorg or Kerala. The beer they serve is always spot on and the food is just glorious. Sadly uncle passed away and the Pelican is being managed by his cool nephew now.
Would have given it 10*s if that was available , The food here is heavenly veg or non veg both are finger lickingly delicious the service is professional and you can just sit there chat with your friends inside enjoying the beautiful ambience and the owner here comes and personally asks every table how are they enjoying the day cant get better than that..its a must visit place.
P.s. It is popular for its chilled beer.

Cozy atmosphere and cheap beer makes it awesome! Every Wednesday there's music played too. A mug costs Rs 80 while a pitcher costs Rs 400.

One of best pub of Mysore! They serve real chilled draught Kingfisher beer.
Their mutton cutlet and lemon chicken was out of the world experience.
Ended with Caramel Custard, which was just terrific.
Added to this, the owner of this pub visits every table to ensure the guests are taken care of. This is the warmth that this place has. I've been seeing this from at least a decade.

People say that you get the best drought beer here and I believe them coz the Kf drought beer here is the best I've had. The food is also good. There is a separate family section which is really good.
The food, service & ambiance is great. The only problem is with the quantity of the food for the price being paid.
The owner of the restaurant walks up to each table and asks if we are comfortable and satisfied with the food. This personal touch draws the customers to restaurant even more.

a hard day and you wanna chill out this is the place to go people. Great atmosphere, decent crowd and a whole lot of beer. The menu too offers too much to dig in and definitely a place to visit if you wanna beer and spend a nice time with friends. The sizzlers were sizzling hot enough to spice it up!!!
Beer lovers unite here in Mysore! A typical Friday night with my friends is spent here! Decent pricing for beer and food. Food is quite tasty but then you start to feel that they use the same masala for pretty much every dish. There is an indoor and outdoor area. Decor is minimal and very plain! Service is decent and pleasant to us! The owner needs a special mention, he goes around almost every table and asks if everything is alright, even cracks a joke or two with us sometimes! They have live music on Monday and Thursdays. Indoors they have a tv to watch the matches going on. Overall, it kind of feels like home to me!
every thing went well in the beginning as we were the only table that time , the draught beer was also chilled ( as we expected ) but in the later half it got worse , first 3 starters came very fast , but the last order came after 40 mins , i thought the waiter must have forgotten to place the order at first . the price is quite high compared to the quantity they serve, we have to order 4 starters and 1 caramel custard for two of us.

Stopped by Pelican Pub after a long day of traveling and sightseeing for a cold pitcher of Kingfisher and some time pass.
It's a very unusual lay out for an eatery, labyrinthine seating set over +1000 sq ft including a central villa/outhouse surrounded by tables dotted around the garden. Quiet and relatively peaceful watching day turn to night in this place. Oddly there are lots of one liner jokes hung up all over the place here - the proprietor must be a real character!
Peanut masala was on the cards but was really disappointing. Too much haldi, no lime, no tomato... not great! The Kingfisher was as expected, chilled and refreshing. Rs400 for a pitcher and take note no other alcoholic drinks other than Kingfisher are served here.

Small place. But most economical place with class for a pub. Love the small place to the left. The price are very awesome. And also more importantly, try cheese Omlet here. Bit expensive but the amount of cheese put in it is just sick 👏
This is one of the oldest places in Mysore ...they serve fresh draught lager and that's it ...if u grew up in Mysore u would understand the importance of this place back in the days ..u gotta go try their raja special peanuts along with boiled eggs ..it's simple and straightforward.. nothing fancy lol cheers
This is one of the best places to hangout for beer in Mysore. They serve beer at the right temperature and the ambience is appropriate for everyone. There is a separate family section which is one of the best things about this place. They have live performances in the evening which is really good too. Food is yummy too. Especially bihari chicken and the sizzlers are a must here. In love with this place.
This place can get really crowded during the weekends.. The waiting time was 30min for starters...
So we decided to try it on a weekday... We ordered scotch egg,pepper mushroom and chicken chatapati...all the dishes were well prepared...
The waiters here are a bit lost or dull..
And the billing in this place was really confusing at first.. Separate bills for everything!
Hunger coupled with need to quench our thirst we stumbled upon Pelican Pub on our visit to Mysore. I liked the ambiance cane furniture, round table seating, well ventilated, breezy place.
We settled down in a quite corner. Ordered mutton kheema, beer for the man and some lemonade for me. Service is slow but they have put up a sign board saying they are short staffed so no complains there.
Very reasonably priced. All in all do make a pit stop here and you wont be disappointed.
Oh also they offer Auto pick-up service...how thoughtful. Plus points for that.

This place came as a surprise when we were famished, attending the Indian Science Congress at the University of Mysore, in 2016.
To summarise, it serves good food, good beer and a great ambience. The staffs are very courteous and hospitable.
I recommend visitors to Mysore explore this place at least once.
Best place to have draught beer in Mysore. Along with some spicy pepper chicken.... Also try the finger chips and vegetables salad. It is not enough just to have the beer the food also is a must have,served by courteous serving staff.
Just reminds me of my collage days ....I had my first Beer in this place. So lots of sweet and bitter memories...few friend I made here and few fights with my friends here ....so still when I am in mysore make sure pay a visit on Sunday.
Again one more Pork place to have with ice chilled Beer.... Still same Brand. Very near to lake so have a good beer a d take a walk near the lake...

They say pork and beer go hand in hand. this is the perfect place, the kingfisher draught beer and chilli pork are the best combo here. try out the chicken pepper fry which also is pretty good. But I must say the Chicken biryani here is pretty ordinary. Overall a decent place to chill out with your friends. service wise it is quick.

Had a memorable evening with Kingfisher draught beer, chilli fried pork n Bihari chicken ( something new and different).
Also was privileged with the company of Mr. Muthana, the spirit and heart of the place.
The 2 member band played retro music which complimented the evening.
And all this came with value for money.

Pelican Pub is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) pubs which serve draught beer in Mysore. I have been enjoying their beer and food for more than 25 years now. The beer used is Kingfisher. The pub has a quaint old world charm with a rustic decor, cane chairs, tiled roofs, garden, etc. While the beer is the usual excellent Kingfisher froth (they don't serve any other liquor), the food is also great. They serve the best tandoori chicken in town. Their pork dishes are also delicious, what with the owner being an authentic Coorgi. The other favorite among the regulars to this place is the Garlic Potato. A meal of Chicken/Egg Fried Rice with Pork Pepper Fry and Garlic Potato as sides will make your evening a very fulfilling one! They also serve excellent stuffed parathas (even kheema stuffed ones). This is the only place in Mysore where I have been able to order scotch eggs, and they do know how to make one. The owner also always makes it a point to go to each table, greet the guests personally and enquiry with them if everything is going okay with their evening. I've seen very few owners do that.
If you are visiting Mysore for a few days and want to have a relaxed evening, you should not miss this place! A must for every visitor.

A Pub in mysore! Yes! Unbelievable right? A lovely little place on the main road but it's got a brilliant ambiance with cute chairs, low lights and on adjoining open air cafe called Grub House. The service is quite slow buy a good place to relax with a mug of beer. The only issue is they had a separate 'all men only ' section and a separate mix section. We called for the Vegetarian sizzler which was not that bad. It came with aloo pattice, veggies in white sauce and french fries. The mushroom fried rice was good too. The non vegetarians had the steak and chicken american chopsuey which was apparently well made. A good place to visit on a lovely evening.

The food here is a treat to behold. They are simple but exquisite. The garlic paneer and the afghan chicken kabab is my favorite. Both go well with a pitcher of draught beer. But the only minutes point is they only serve KF draught.
The food here is exquisite. Amazing short eats. They go really well with a beer mug in the other hand. FYI Pelican serves only draught beer. You have to try out the Chilli chicken here. The chilli is with a capital 'C' if you know what I mean. Its quite different from the other places. Its got a touch of coorgie cuisine to it, which is great if you like spicy food. There's a family section as well which has a fairly good ambiance. Garlic potato is recommended for the veggies. Also try out the cheese garlic naan. All in all a good place for a Saturday afternoon with friends.
If you're having lunch here, the owner, an elderly gentlemen, always makes it a point to come up to your table and ask if you're comfortable.
