it's right on the Kalidasa main road, one of the legendary eateries in Mysore, a pure vegeterain place, menu is of total south Indian cuisne, it has a darshini style outlook to it, they do offer table service. a very decent place for to have morning break fast, afternoon lunch and evening snacks. the prices of the food on the menu are very basic and afforadable, which makes it one of the best pocket friendly eateries in Mysore, you can have a stomach full of food at a very low cost.
it has a very good amibence, the flooring and wooden tables are old vintage style with modern ceiling and 2 sides of the restaurant offers a cool open view towards the street, so the feeling is a mix of old vintage style dining with modern cafe style street view experince.
If thereās a place in KD Road, Mysore thatās both old and is visited by officials - itās Indraāa sweet & spice. Service is as good as the food and coffee.
This has been a landmark kind of place in Mysore.
With a lot of officials visiting here,it's known for its cleanliness and authentic taste .

Indra serves very good lunchtime meals and at very economical price of rs.55. i liked the taste of Palya, sambhar, rasam. Had a champakali to top it at rs.20 and it was fantastic.

A simple place that offers simple south indian food.Tried the set dosa here.The ambience is simple and they have a friendly staff. Can be visited for simple south indian food.
Used to frequent this places during my college days. My Favorites are Masala Dosa with Thick Chutney and Idli Vada Sambar with Strong Coffee..
The food is very tasty and the price is very reasonable I like the good old idli with sambar and benne masala dosa here. In the the afternoon the mini meals is sufficient for a person which is also reasonable priced
This is one of the most visited restaurant by me in good old days. Visited "n" number times just as their name Sweet "n" Spice. They have renovated the interiors also, have seen the old and new both. I am very much familiar with the staff faces !! Used to have Cutlet / Samosa / Dosa's / Coffee / Tea - Mostly I had Cutlets so many times on Sunday evenings. Quality of food is somewhat they maintained, only draw back is about Coffee / Tea - That taste still not came up :-(Ā I love to sit outside and view the K D Road :-) Had few times Lunch also. When I am in vicinity of K D Road I visit without fail.
This place is right opposite to hotel green leaf around the corner. Had my breakfast here today morning. Chose set masala dosa and wasn't let down on lovely morning. Dosa was crispy from outside and soft from inside which is the first thing which I generally look for. The chutney tasted good in the first cup but the second one wasnt that great. The person serving me insisted I try the sambar and it was really tasty. The person taking care of this hotel needs a special mention as he personally went enquired what I need and orderd the same with his kitchen staff; doesnt happen in many places. To close as usual had my coffee which was absolute delight. Another thing which I saw was couple of foreigners who seemed to be quite regular visitors and they were really impressed by set dosas. So that must be another thing to be tried.

For some of us, this is a common adda .. One thing we like about this place is ever smiling servers & their friendliness ..
Place is easily accessible .. And the ambience is quite good too .. Of some do complain about traffic noise, but we never bothered of it ..
Their set dosa, set masala dosa & bisi bele bath - must try ..
And their evening "chaats" are good too .. Pocket friendly place ..

Indira's Sweet & Spice is a restaurant that brings Old Mysore's laid back demeanour and hint of being trendy together.
Seemingly an old place around, the diner still hasn't taken the menu route. :P You still find waiter chanting out a list of dishes that the restaurant offers. The menu is limited, but the limitation is overcome by above average taste. The restaurant has South Indian breakfast and snacks and chats to on their list and most dishes taste better (not best) when compared to other places in the vicinity.
The pricing is reasonable.
The ambiance is calm and the area maintained neat.
Good place for a morning breakfast or an evening snack.

Pluses:
1. Location: Located on the happening Kalisada road , adequate parking place
2. Ambiance: roomy airy open restaurant with pleasing interiors. Simple and practical.
3. Food: They serve 3-4 varieties of dosas, chaats and paratha. Taste is good, especially the chaats.
4. Price: appropriate for the kind of place. Rs 40 for a dosa and Rs 25 for chaats on an average
5. Service: Friendly , informal , no nonsense
6. Trusted name: It is owned by IndraBhavan which is a trusted name in Mysore for Ā veg food
Minuses:
1. Limited Menu: they only have a few dosas and a few chaats. They definitely need to add something more to their menu to bring in some variety.
2. Most tables in this place are occupied by people who take hours together to finish a cup of coffee or finish a dosa. Therefore the seats overlooking the road are mostly occupied and it appears this place is full.Ā
Final Verdict: The chats and dosa tastes better than the ones you get at Green Leaf right opposite to this place. Only downer is that their menu is Ā limited and you cant go there if you want to try something apart from dosa and chats
Decent food. Prompt service. They seem to be erratic on their opening times in the morning. Go here for a slice of the local breakfast. The sweets didn't seem fresh to me.
