Well I have been eating here since my childhood and the taste brings back a lot of memories. Though the ambience can be improved, you wouldn’t mind it if you are willing to not look at it but the taste! My fav here is the chicken afghani with biryani rice and you are good to go. Even the chicken kebab is good.
This place is never disappointing for us. Either for fine dining or if I order food home. We are greatly satisfied each time, also the mutton biryani here is to die for!😍 Highly recommended restaurant😊👍
Yummy 😋 food just love the biryani here and the chicken kebabs just irresistible must try. many dishes to try and explore your taste buds good and friendly service. even Japanese quails available here and seekh kebabs with rumali rotis
Food 5/5
Service 5/5
Ambience cleanliness 2/5
Good place to have Biriyani and Mutton Afgani. One if the oldest joints in Mysore. Only set back is it's tidiness
The food is very delicious all varieties are mouth watering its the best hotel we have everseen in mysuru. The food is of high quality, hygienic. Always We all to go to Mughal Durbar when ever think of outside fooding and never forget to take parcels for outings.
I am a regular customer to this place. The biryani here is the best i have had anywhere. The quality of rice used is amazing. Biryani and Chicken kabab are the must have dishes in this place.
Nice place with great food and good service. The biryani is good and flavour is amazing. The sheek kabab is the best I've had so far, also the film a kebab is good. The pieces particularly in the mutton biryani was well cooked and tender.
Food: 4/5
VFM: 3/5 (considering cost of living in mysuru)
Ambience: 3/5 (Just the A/C hall was fine)
Had a good experience here. Tried chicken and mutton biryani, chicken fried rice and chicken kebab.
Food: was really good. If u are a biriyani lover, this is a must try in mysuru. It's not the sweet tasting biriyani that u get in Karnataka, this is something better. Kebab was awsum-must try. Fried rice was good.
Ambience: only a small part of the restaurant that had AC was looking good. Nothing great about he rest.
Pushpit Kharbanda (Bhukkadh Singh)
+3.5
Food: 4/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 2.5/5
Let's start with the ambiance - 'It's dull and gloomy' was my first impression and it did not change as the time passed. Seating arrangement present on the ground and the first floor, this place has a huge seating capacity. Actually it won't look too congested if they push in a couple of more tables, even after having multiple 'AC' halls upstairs.
First thing first, the 'AC' halls were namesake. There was no AC running and in fact other than providing a bit more privacy than the rest, the AC halls didn't do much good. In fact they were a bit stinky because of having the windows closed. The ambiance had a serious lighting problem. They had the dull yellow light bulbs and they weren't bright enough to even read the menu without straining your eyes.
The service definitely wasn't the best, in fact on the contrary. I'll tell you why:1. It was hard to recognize the waiters/servers
2. It was even harder to get hold of one even after you somehow recognized one.
3. It was the hardest to explain stuff to them.
Surprisingly the waiters didn't seem to be from around but immigrants from some different part of the country. This wasn't the problem. The problem was that they had a hard time understanding Kannada, Hindi and English. I didn't know which other language I could use with them. I mean till the time you're just reading out the order name from the menu and ordering the dishes, you're fine but the moment you ask them a bit about the dish or try to get it a bit customized, you'll have a real hard time in explaining it to them. They're not easily available (because most of the time they're on the lower floor, enjoying a joke) and are way too slow. It took him about 12 odd minutes to get a mineral water bottle and then 15 more to replace it when we asked for a cold one instead.
One REALLY SERIOUS problem is hygiene. Yes, you heard me right. The plates weren't the cleanest, the glasses were stinky and then in the end when we asked bowls for the dessert (because it was served in a plastic box that's used for parcels), we were given three of them and once we separated them, we realized that the problem wasn't just that they weren't wiped but the problem was that they had water coagulated in them. It's like the cleaner just washed, stacked them for wiping but the waiter just brought them like nothing really mattered. What turned me off even more was the fact that when I complained to him, instead of exchanging them, he laughed like it was something silly I was complaining about. He then took them to the hand wash area near the bathroom, scoured them with water, without any cleanser and brought them back on our table.
If you've managed to read this almost 'rant-y' review, you deserve to know why I still gave it a 3.5 star. The reason is simple, the food is really good here. Even though the quantity could've been better we had two reasons to still go to this place:
1. The food that we ordered - Mutton Afghani, Tandoori Chicken were both amazing and the Hyderabadi Chicken was okayish.
2. Something that caught our attention there - We went around 9:30. There were people coming and going in around the same time and while we were sitting, something interesting happened once, which was thus repeated about four times. A table got occupied by about 10 people, all of them asked for 'Biryani' and were told that it's finished and without any question asked, they got up and left. After that we saw the same thing happening 3 more times with about 5-6 people each time on an average. Definitely going back there to try Biryani and see if it's actually that good or just hyped up.
Had their chicken biryani for dinner and am a happy soul now. The taste is still lingering in my mouth. The aroma and taste was so good I almost finished half before serving up myself with side dishes. The food was brought home packed by one of my relative so can't comment about ambience. Loved their sweet beeda(betel leaf) as well.
First of all thank u so much for speedy service. We tried mutton afgani , chicken kalimiri , biryani nd sm sweet . Mutton was just amazing , soft nd tender well cooked . Chicken at the same time was bit okkk . Biryani was ok . But sweet was amazing . Over all a gudd place .
Very nice food...courteous staff...had a wonderful dinner during our stay in mysore.. mutton biryani was yum.. vegetarian members enjoyed paneer...portion sizes r really good
The place is not that good. But trust me the food is literally lip smacking here. Mutton biriyani tops the list here and if you are in Mysore trust me u should visit this place to taste mutton biryani. A portion of biryani serves 2 people. Also must try in this place are Japanese quails as starters. In end don't forget to have special prepared sweet at this restaurant. It's really tasty. Ideal time to visit is noon time
they serve the best biryani in mysore. Its a bit expensive compared to other restaurants in mysore but looking at the quality of the food its totally worth the money.
Ambience is not very good, but the food is pretty good specially non veg. Tandoori chicken n biryani must try. Shawarma was not up to the mark n so we Shahi paneer.
Now i know lot of you debate RRR vs Mughal Durbar! I have sampled biriyani at both these restaurants. Why is Mughal Durbar equally good? Long grains, perfectly cooked Basmati, the aroma that should be smelt in the handi. Simply delicious biriyani. Great sides from the tandoor as well. Worth a visit.
If u are a Biryani guy, then this place must be on ur list . I have been eating for god knows how many years and the BIRYANI has been exactly the same all through. Long grains of rice perfectly cooked and spiced along with their tangy curry. Wah Kya kehna????
This happens to be one of the old restaurants of namma mysuru❤️. I've been here since very young. That rustic look of the table, fans, windows n the stairs would certainly gives the old vibe. Love thier mutton Biryani and rumali roti. It used to be sooo good earlier. Now the quality has gone down a bit . If u r a person who would look for hygiene and stuff like that, avoid this place. If u want to just go eat food den go n enjoy ur food.. service needs a lot of improvement.. n they need to keep the place clean.
The food is tasty, little delay in service because of the new establishment. Polite behaviour in waiters they are handling good.
Very tasty 😋 and well served place
Little expensive but worth and value for money
Their tandoori & grilled non veg dishes are good, but biryani was not up to the mark.....
Busy restaurant in Mysore. They offer Halal food. We had Mugal Mutton Biryani that was superb. We also tried Mutton afgani and chicken tikka both are yummy. Mutton pepper roast was also nice.
Mughal Durbar is the most famous hotel in Mysore , just visit once and eat your favourite food...
After having food here you won't feel bloated..You will get a feeling of Retro type with good ambients and a good service
Best non veg and Veg restaurant and the dishes are good in the restaurant and service is also good
They have a variety of dishes and meals
The atmosphere is also Friendly and the people are also Friendly and they serve very well
I like this restaurant 😄😄
First Class Tandoor delicacies and mouth watering options to choose from.
Biryani was delicious and quantity was decent to serve two.
Shawarmas were too sweet coz of over use of mayonnaise in it.
Great food at a pocket friendly price.
