Junior Kuppanna still maintaining the same quality of food. I've visited the other branches in Chennai and Bangalore and I feel they have done justice. The Meals isn't really that good compared to RRR. But the chicken starters are worth it.

Overall it's a good go to if you're looking for some spicy South Indian food.
Yum biryani. Amazing quality of the chicken pieces. However, its not basmati biryani. One of the best raithas I've ever had, thick curds raitha. A good biryani place. Looking forward to trying the other dishes here.
The biryani did not taste as great as what i had tried in one of their outlets in Coimbatore that I had been to earlier. We were passing by mysore & they had hoardings on the highway, this tempted me to go into the city & eat as I had loved what i had had in Coimbatore. The place is quite big & spacious, located very close to the bus stop in mysore. The mutton pepper fry was as yummy as I remember. If you like half cooked eggs then u shud try their egg kalaki.. Really yummy!
I have no idea why people are giving less rating.
I will share my experience.
The place is very close to KSRTC Bus station and its easy to find. Located beside Joyalukkas and above Kavery emporium.
Food menus are really worth and must try biryani. People were serving really good and friendly. I had been here for 5 times in 3 days. Servicing takes some time but it usual in all the hotels.
I strongly recommend this place.

On a trip to Mysore and headed here for lunch on the recommendation of our taxi driver. This is a nice South Indian joint with a simplistic yet satisfying menu with some good variety. It is easy to be missed with the restaurant at level one and signboard at the same level with a garment and jewellery showroom at level 0 but ask anyone for Joy allukas building and you will be aptly directed.
Tried out the Chicken Kotthu parotta, had been longing for a tamilnadu style kothu and this place stands up to it. Perfect balance of taste and texture with good serving of chicken and perfect gravy along with raitha as sides. Also, on the order was the Erode Uthappam and it was just a melt in the mouth experience with its softness. We also had Roti's with Veg gravy which could have been better, was a little bland. Carrot halwa added a nice finishing touch and was rich and filling.Ambiance is simple and place is very spacious. Service is good.
Had been for lunch. Find the joyalukkas board and you'll reach this place.
Packed chicken Biryani and mutton biryani home. Loved them both. Slightly on the spicy side. But the raita will make up to it :)
Service was good. Just a little expensive than the regular restaurants. But once again, nothing to worry about when the delicacy reaches your tummy :)
Indeed one of the best places to go for a meal. Try biryanis, butter chicken, chicken 65 and even curd rice. You won't be disappointed. I'm hoping they would maintain the standards in future

First thing first, when I left for the place I wasn't expecting what I got. I went with a couple of friends and we were told by a couple of friends from Tamil Nadu that the chain in itself is very well known and it's a must try. I was expecting the place to be a small place with not too impressive furnishing. Although to my surprise it's completely the opposite. Present on the floor above Joylukkas, this restaurant is pretty spacious and it's neat, clean, well lit with good furniture around. On a side note it was in fact me feeling a bit under-dressed.
What surprised me was why it has such a bad rating on Zomato. I mean if it wasn't for my friends who would have suggested me this place, I would have totally ignored it based on it's rating.
So the moment we entered, a waiter came up to us and we were ushered to a table. The tables had banana leaves already spread and folded for every seat. On looking around I realised that they even had those high chairs for toddlers and kids. Definitely a family friendly place. Another interesting part about it was the tabs/phones they had - They were taking and noting orders on them. Advancing with times. I suppose only two more restaurants in the Mysore have the same thing happening as of now. The better part, the waiters were comfortable in multiple languages. We talked to them in a mix of Hindi and English and they could converse well.
We ordered the following:
1. Chapati - Which comes with side curries. We didn't use the curries though.
2. Egg Dosa - Soft, well spread egg, served along with sides. Was pretty decent but nothing unique.
3. Chicken Pallipalayam - This is one of their authentic in house dish since it was probably made by one of the owners I believe (Saw a picture of Mr. A. Pallipaalyam) on the wall. I might be wrong with assuming this though. Anyhow the dish was good but the portion was really disappointing. Expecting it to be a serving for at least two, it was hardly a serving for one.
4. Chicken Chukka - This one was my personal favourite. It had some indigenous spices in it. Although it looked very similar to the dish above but it had a very different taste of itself. The chunks of coconut in the dish added to it's uniqueness. This dish is highly recommendable but again, the portion size as mentioned above was just not worth it. The problem was for sure only seen in starters.
5. Mutton Nalli - It was really good. It had a very unique taste and it for sure was lip smacking. Was cooked well. It's hard to get mutton tender and this one was pretty soft.
6. Junior Butter Chicken - This thing is very different! Being a north Indian, I've literally grew on Butter Chicken and it's known for it's richness of tomato puree and cream although this one was a completely different kind of preparation. It wasn't on the spicy side. Had a creamy, cashew based curry and had shredded chicken and veggies in it, included with capsicum and tomatoes. Highly recommended.
7. Paneer Masala - Again it had a creamy base with chunks of supposedly pan fried Paneer. It had a very nice taste and in fact we ordered two of them.
8. Veechu Parotta - I really thank god that I got curious and ordered this. This, according to me was the best part out of all. Not that other things were bad but the satisfaction would have been incomplete without the presence of this. This was thin, crisp and obviously a bit pan fried Parotta. The best part was, they serve it hot. I mean if on the table you ordered four of them, they won't give you all four together, rather the moment it gets off the pan, it would be served and the next one once it's ready. I think they deserve credit for this idea. Other places let your stuff get cool while other things are getting cooked.
9. Chicken Biryani - Wasn't the best or maybe because I'm not just a fan of this form of Biryani. Didn't have the thin, long granular rice (though it's a separate one on the menu and we noticed that later). The Biryani wasn't bad in any way but didn't suit my personal taste. I prefer it spicy. The chicken was nice, tender and soft.
10. Lime Soda - This really sounds like an ordinary thing but it's worth a mention because the soda had everything well in proportion and really tasted good. The best way to end your meal.
We did have a sumptuous meal and had no space for any more so skipped the desserts.
While on one hand I was impressed by the service, hygiene, quality and ambience of the place, something that turned me off a bit was the prices. The starters for the portion they're served are definitely costly. When talking of restaurants in Mysore, even posh restaurants out here have a price range of 300-400 per head but here it turned a bit more.
I understand that this was a franchise and they don't take call on the prices but on probing I got to know that they don't offer any corporate discounts either (as of now) - which is something that all the restaurants serving in this price range offer and they could control the prices using a bit of that.
Definitely visiting this place soon enough but not too frequently because of the prices.
The food here exceeded my expectations even though it was a bit on the spicy side. Friendly staff and good service. The restaurant also has a decent ambiance and is also located in a prime location. Would recommend this place if you're bored of the monotonous mysorean food
