I visited Guru Sweets Mysore during my trip to the city and I was amazed by the quality and taste of their sweets. The Mysore Pak was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with a perfect balance of sweetness and richness. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they packed the sweets nicely for me to take home. The shop is small but clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend Guru Sweets Mysore to anyone who loves Indian sweets or wants to try something new. It is a must-visit place in Mysore!
Mysore Pak is a popular sweet dish that originated in the city of Mysore, located in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is believed to have been created in the royal kitchen of the Mysore Palace during the reign of Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, who was the Maharaja of Mysore in the 19th century.

Must try -Mysore plain ghee block and the Crunchy Mysore Pak.
They also have a variety of savouries.
Right opposite the store are fruit and vegetable vendors selling fresh produce.
The place where Mysore Pak invented... Crowded...a big que and it took almost half an hour to buy.... The right shop to buy boxes.. and left shop to buy for immediate consume.. i bought Ghee milk Mysore Pak and worth waiting..600/kg. Recommend to taste!!!
The Mysore Bak, although known for its traditional taste, was saturated with ghee, which might not suit everyone's palate. On the positive side, the sweets were extremely fresh and served hot, indicating their commitment to quality. It is worth noting that Guru Sweet Mart is believed to be one of the oldest shops in the area, which adds a touch of historical significance. While the experience had its ups and downs, it may be worth a visit for those seeking traditional flavors and a taste of the past.

Guru Sweet Mart, the name itself seems to be very ordinary and very common but this place has Enormous & Trendsetting History in Karnataka and in Mysuru.
Guru sweet Mart is one of those rarest and richest sweet shops of India which sells sweets everyday with a heavy crowd at all the time.
The ancestors of the present generation Guru Sweet Mart was developed and prepare the most famous sweet of South India, The Mysore Pak.
Bahan sisters of this Google sweet Mart made the Mysore pak as one of the main sweets in Mysore Royal family Foods. From then onwards the Mysore pak was developed and gained so much attention and craze among people and late on the craze of this Mysore pak went over boundaries.
The sweet shop seems to be very small but the number of people who comes here to buy Mysore pak and just to taste it was very very huge in number.
There are two sweet shops in the same row and both are owned by them.
I was astonished by the traffic that was there just to buy Mysore pak and to taste it. Even though the rates of somewhat on the higher side, the taste of the Mysore pak is so much delicious than you expect.
This Mysore pak is not like the ordinary Mysore pak we've been seeing from childhood.
This Mysore pak is so much Fluid rather than solid.
It is completely flooded with Pure Ghee & other necessary add ons also.
Other than Mysore Pak, Guru Sweet Mart also sells most of the Indian sweets we are familiar to.
So, if you're planning a Trip to Mysuru, just blindly go and taste the original Mysore pak from Guru Sweet Mart.

But i felt i hav eaten some more melt in mouth mysore pak at other places than this. But fairly good place & packed a few for friends & relatives

Out standing Mysore Pak. No explanation required
It's one of the best in town. After guru sweets in Ulsoor Bangalore this was good. 600rs kg. Mysore Pak ghee and Mysore Pak milk and ghee was available. I had taken both. But i felt the ghee one was better than milk ghee. It was more solid and not melt in mouth texture.
The place has most iconic sweets and famous Mysore Paak. You can get other varieties of Indian desserts here as well. Being in the local market and center of the city, it's accessible and affordable with respect to price.
Liked authentic taste of mysorepak...Superb taste...Ghee mysore pak tastes good...Go early in the morning else...There is longer queue...Second time when I visit at 12.20PM,it takes almost 45 min to get....But taste is awesome...
We were told this place is owned by the family whose ancestory goes back to the man who invented the Mysore Pak. Not sure of true it is, but the place lived up to the hype. The hot hot Mysore Pak was literally melt in hand and mouth.
PS: There is a different queue just for the Mysore pak section and yes generally it's a long one. Also, ask for special ghee Mysore pak. Would advise carrying a spoon if you are planning it to eat it there ( it crumbles due to the heat) if you don't mind the mess then you are good to go 🙂
Great quality but access of sugar.
Yes, undoubtedly their Ghee Mysore Pak was good, but i felt it is overloaded with sweetness which for my liking is fine but most of them may not like. What i liked was the Mysore pak served hot. Tried some salty snacks which i liked even better, as fresh as it could be.
Please note that the parking is a problem (4 wheeler). If you're lucky you can park for 15mins on the busy street without police warning, and note that the sweet shop is crowded usually which makes you wait for sometime. What the shop must really improve is their packing and billing pace.

The shop has been in business for over 100 years, and the recipe for Mysore Pak is a closely guarded secret. The Mysore Pak is made with chickpea flour, sugar, and ghee, and it is incredibly delicious. The shop also sells a variety of other sweets, including barfi, gulab jamun, and laddu.
