A mandatory stop by at this place because if one hasn’t chilled at this café for its breathtaking view, delectable food and remarkable hospitality then you are really missing out for a fulfilled stay at Nainital. I fell in love with this place when I visited first, made a comeback within 5 months. Need no-more to justify it any better.
As restaurants and cafes reopen I guess people are scared as well as excited to go out! And it was no different for me. But then I visited back this cafe and I was no more scared but only excited. With fewer tables, staffer with infra-red temperature gun for checks and masked staff with sanitisers, the team is lining up COVID safety and pasta with equal energy. Even the tables are disinfected every time and washrooms are deep cleaned. The cafe just checks off not only quality food but environment too! Thank you for a great break after long gap ! Never felt so safe!!!
Had buffet breakfast here which was Rs.250 per person. They serve toasts, chole bhature, potato wedges, salad, coffee, green tea in the breakfast. I would say that the taste was not upto the mark and I had really high expectations from this place but was left a bit disappointed. Although the view from this cafe is just amazing as the lake is just infront of this cafe.
Beautiful Lake View Cafe on the Mall Road
Right after reaching Nainital we wanted to have a good meal at a good cafe or a restaurant. I was searching online and stumbled upon this cafe on zomato which had 4.0 rating. We visited with family of 4. The ambience instantly appealed to us and we chose to sit outdoors facing naini lake. This is a breezy cafe at the very center of Mall Road.
Now coming on to the food we ordered -
- Grill Fish Platter - 4.5/5 (Good lemon-butter Fish Fillet with Mashed Potato and Stir Vegetables)
- Chilli Chicken - 3/5 (Decent)
- Chilli Garlic Noodles (Non-veg) - 2.5/5 (OK, No taste of garlic and some bad smell in egg)
- Veg Red Sauce Pasta - 2/5 (Extremely Tangy - would suggest the restaurant to do something about this)
The prices are bit high but this is probably the best cafe in nainital and worth it. The bill was around Rs.1700

A very good experience of Asian cuisine. Chicken burrito was very tasty so was parmesan pesto. But special mention deserves the grilled fish. It was very tender and juicy. The plates were also well decorated. Overall a very good experience.
This place is situated right in front of the nainital lake and you will definitely fall in love with the ambience. It's quiet small hence had to wait for the table. But the wait was worth it. We had Watermelon iced tea to quench our thirst from a long walk near the lake, for the mails we ordered Paneer Butter Masala , Kadhai Chicken which we paired it up with bread and rice. The food was amazing 👌. From the aroma to the exact amount of spices in the dishes made it possible for us to love it more.
Went in at the best time year, loved almost every meal, improve the taste of biryani else everything is worth having, i visited it 3 times in my three days visit and place always amused me. Service is a bit slow so order everything at once, but the service is delicious. Hot chocolates and pancakes are must. Chicken steak is the best ❤️

A pretty eye catching cafe at the Nainital Maal Road, and does not disappoint you at all. Vibing pretty hard, this cafe offers at set of cocktails /mocktails. Casual food such as pizza, pasta, appetizers, etc. We ordered the Chicken Chilly and it was lipsmacking.

Recently went to Nainital and while enjoying the boat ride in the lake, saw this beautiful restaurant from far but i couldn’t take my eyes off. Cafe Lakeside is very beautiful and attractive, even from outside. Thus, i decided to have all my meals here at this restaurant only. The place is even more beautiful from inside,it has got a very cozy ambience and a beautiful alfresco as well. I chose to sit on a tall chair in balcony with a view of lake and mall road. Its the best restaurant in Nainital and service makes it even better. Thanks to Jerry for making us try the best cold coffee. It was so so so good that i dont have right words to express. We ordered mix sauce pasta and sizzler, both were really yummy. Pasta had a great balance of both the sauces and tasted really creamy and a lil sour, exactly how i wanted it to be. The sizzler was also super fresh and tasty.
I cant wait to visit Nainital again to diner at this restaurant.

The food at Lakeside Cafe was so good that we ended up eating all our meals there on our trip to Nainital last week.Their menu has an excellent selection of Indian , Continental and Chinese dishes. I loved their freshly made saucy chicken momos , pizzas with unusual but tasty toppings, pastas and soups but my all time favourite was their grilled fish in lemon butter sauce served with a generous helpings of fluffy mashed potatoes and freshkymade tartar sauce. Since they have a vast beverage menu we spent lazy afternoons having speciality teas , cappuccinos , mocktails and milkshakes with Palak Patta chaat and Chicken sausage tostadas. Can’t wait to go back
Let’s start off by the flamboyant atmosphere the place posses, it’s full of life and soul! Keeping aside the breathtaking view of the serene lake while you sip on your steaming coffee or varieties of lip smacking beverages, jamming to the classic 90s, what more could I ask for?The place has some fine dining experience! You just feel so exquisite and superlative being there. Speaking as a somewhat frequent customer, there’s not one bad memory of the place, it’s always been so fun and new! They’ve got a miscellaneous group of dishes, ranging from indian to Chinese to Italian to all the goodies ! I would personally recommend the pizza, butter chicken, and the steak! Ahmmm my mouth waters just writing this! This one remains on the top of my list of my special joints! I’ll exhort every person visiting or in Nainital to check this place out, it won’t disappoint you; I promise you!

Today I visited Cafe Lakeside for the first time in Nainital. The ambiance of the place is impressive. It has been designed tastefully. Buffet breakfast is just for 250 Rs per head. I ate Egg Toast-tada and Cheese corn rolls and both these dishes are a must try. I would definitely rate it 5/5.

One loves surprises and more so when one travels, Nainital has always held a certain charm for me as one drives through the meandering hill roads filled with deodar and pine and oak. The corn stalls by the roadside are interludes during the wet monsoons and their hint of rain. During the summer months this hill station is teeming with tourists who are up there for the cool breeze.
The nostalgic charm of the place is broken by the choice of what to eat and where. The newest place on the block designed and created by Yamini and Vishal Khanna on their property the Lake Side Hotel is Café Lakeside. Located opposite the town library on mall road its easy access is a boon to the tired traveller. The quintessential place is not only tastefully done up but its lent itself to the charm of the tiny township.
As one sits on the balcony watching the world go by, from the cycle rickshaws on the narrow roads, to the trickle or the hordes of tourists depending on the time of year one can sit and analyze different characteristics in people passing by. But the best past time is watching the fog coming in across the lake and in a manner of speaking my triggering off memories of a trip to Lake Como in Italy. The restaurant has that soft café feel to it and the décor charmingly done too. From the artifacts to the wall hangings nothing is intrusive or out of place. The bar stools and the long table with the lake side view captivates one immediately and is an instant attraction.
The food speaks volumes in its plating and design and the carefully chosen menu doesn’t thrown huge surprises at one. It is about comfort food at the end of the day. From burritos and pastas to tastefully done Chinese cuisine, which is not spiced up and truly delicious. The feminine touch of Yaminis hand is seen in the kitchen as she supervises the staff and ensures that the food comes out in the best manner possible.
While one may have hopefully looked for dishes that evolved due to the many Army and British influences in the area, it is the tea menu and its many tisanes and especially the Kahwa that one sips over and has a pleasant chat with friends and acquaintances. Would definitely suggest the Chinese and the momos with the sauce, the skin of the momos were so delicately done and the meat tender and well done. Though not a fan of cottage cheese in any form, the cottage cheese steak and the curried sauce was not at all too over powering and well done. For the chaat fan the spinach chaat was delicious and finishing it off with a blueberry pancake where one had the option of having them with maple syrup or chocolate as well.

Such a delightful evening spent at this wonderful restaurant. Right on the mall road, this seems like nanital in the year 2030. Here the chefs are highly skilled and experienced for sure... It's depicted in every thing that comes out of their kitchen, be it the butter chicken pizza or the juicy burger clubbed with veggies and fries simply made our day. Manchow soup was another show Stopper. Rendang chicken with wargi paratha and other combos they offer are wholesome and appetizing. When you're in nanital and don't visit this joint will be a sin.

I write this review as I sit here at the cafe lakeside in Nainital and relish a sumptuous meal. Three things that come to mind : 1- great location overseeing the lake, the hills and bang on the mall road. 2- very very delicious food. We tried the red pepper chicken along with some Chinese food and waffles for dessert...excellent preparation and great taste! The waffles in particular were fresh, warm and filled with blueberries. 3- great service and very courteous staff.
Coming to nainital after long and great to see new places like cafe lakeside come up and scale the food & hospitality scene to newer highs!!

The few things me and my friends ordered included the Alfredo Pasta, the Tulsi Green Tea Therapy and the Oreo Milkshake. I genuinely had a sore throat and couldn't enjoy the Cold Shakes myself but what my friends tell me is that they were amazing! I had the Tulsi Green Tea at first and to my surprise, almost instantaneously I could feel my throat getting better. The Pasta is to die for and so is the garlic bread. Amazing service and such humble owners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We went there for breakfast with kids. It was a nice experience. The interiors are aesthetically pleasing and the music they play contains old english rock songs of Sinatra, Presley etc. The whole ambience is relaxed and casual with beautiful view of the lake from balcony seats. There is indoor seating also available.
We ordered paratha with ginger tea. The paratha was served with curd and pickle. It was spicy. We asked for another paratha for kids with no spice and they cooked perfect soft paratha for kids. The tea was good. Worth visiting at least once.

Visited the place to celebrate my Jiju’s birthday. The place offers great vibes and some great cocktails. The ambience is great especially if you’re with your loved one or couple. Tried the Veg Nachos, Noodles and Fried Rice along with some drinks. All tasted great. The people here are all very hospitable and weLL trained. If you’re looking for a place to host a happening party, this is the place to be.
Oh man! Must say this place does attract everyone’s attention while you casually stroll in mall road. Its beautiful on the outside as much as it is inside. The food items are unique. Coffee and Tea are worth trying. We tried some Mexican Taco dishes and found it very unique. Must try for its ambience, for good food, a perfect view, good Music 🎶, and a really humbling service :)

A lakeside cafe on the mall with a fabulous vibe & great views. Food was decent but the service sure needs lots of sprucing! The servers seemed so not interested in attending to patrons or cleaning tables , one had to literally ask for services.
You need to try their pasta , it’s one the best. I went there like 3 times in my 2 day stay in Nainital . It’s located on the main Mall Road of Nainital, view from here is lovely food and ambience is even better also they serve alcohol which I really liked 😅 drinking with a view is what I needed after 10 hour of travel. On the lake the cafe offers unhindered clear view of lake. It’s high tables are facing the lake. Very clean and hygienic. This cafe is one of the best on the Mall Road and among few in Nainital serving alcohol. The food is tasty and service fast. The staff is very counter and helpful. Our host Rahul was super polite and helpful. They have clean restrooms too.
Great restaurant at mall road in Nainital... ATMOSPHERE is great, food is tasteful, interiors are good, and best thing is OUTSIDE dining from where Nainital lake is visible.. Its majestic view from outer dining area..... This restaurant is almost full with people all time, so take some time and wait to get a seat in outside lake view dining area....i ordered lasagne but due to shortage of ingredients they could not prepare it ,instead of giving me half cooked lasagne they straight way politely told me about the problem showing they value their customers ,, Recommended 👍
