If you crave for momo, the authentic Tibetan momos with red hot spicy chutney, this is the place to visit. I've been eating these momos since my very childhood and can certain you that these are the best. They are a bit overcooked and broken but taste wins it all.
Great location… amidst the Tibetian Market …. Shop till u drop & treat your taste buds to the amazing Momos at Sonam’s Fast Food. The Momos tasted the best with the hot and spicy sauce/chutney . This tasty and flavoured red sauce very well complemented the flavoured momos. The next highly tempting dish at SONAM’S I recommend is their DRY THUKPA…so tempting and super delicious…People make a note that on Wednesdays they don’t serve Non Veg stuff. Hence, the hard core non vegetarians don’t try to explore SONAM’S on a Wednesday … you will be disappointed ..One more thing which disappointed me was the Hygiene here….I understand the lack of space in that tiny bi lane but still hygiene needs to be taken care of …Hope next time when I visit… this suggestion of mine should have been taken care of…
Everything is great! The dried thupka is delicious and mutton momos have a really nice aroma of mutton stock. The prices are economical. The main problem is ambience, you have to eat in the crowd and rush.
We tried mutton momos and veg chowmin , momos had some authentic taste and they were not the same as served in Delhi , So I enjoyed that taste.
Chowmin was on an average side
We have tried the pure and authentic taste of momos @sonamfastfood nainital.
It is too different from Delhi 2al3 momos in texture and taste.
Chutney is too spicy that it made my cry.
Located in a lane in the "Tibetan Market", Sonam Fast Food is a small outlet serving momos and noodles. It seems to be quite famous and is crowded. It doesn't have any seating arrangement so be prepared to stand.
I tried the famous mutton momos. They were good and cheap too.
It's a good option to visit when shopping in that area.
I have heard a lot about his place when I googled best place to eat in Nainital, one of them were famous Sonam momos, so I tried their veg and mutton momos and definitely best mutton momos so far. a must try the place and also you can shop a lot because it is in the center of the Tibetan market. There are a lot of other chines options too.
Perfect and delicious momos i have ever tried till now with chilly and tangy chutney..its great in taste, both in veg and non-veg. When in Nanital, don’t miss to go to Sonam’s momos. 😍
I’d heard about this food joint a lot. They’ve got a decent variety of momos. I had Fried Paneer Momos and they tasted good. On my next visit, I’ll surely try a different variety from here.

The steamed momos were very good and so was the red chilli sauce. Basic ingredients, thin skin, juicy meat and an extremely hot sauce. What more can u ask for momos to be.
The same momos were fried and served. No there was no egg basting. No cornflour coating. Ao it resulted in soggy fried momos which invariably soaked hell lot of oil. If u like the taste of oil u may try else stick to momos.
Am sorry but the mutton thukpa was a disappointment. I could only eat like four bites and the rest was wasted. I could taste raw noodles and burnt mutton keema. Well maybe my palette is not.developed for authentic tibetan food. But I didnt like it.

Am definitely going back for the mutton momos.
Not many options you will find at this place but who need options when you have the best on your platter.
Sonam fast food serves one of the best momos (mutton and veg), thukpa, and noodles. The place is small but hygienic. No place to sit, so find your own place to stand/sit and enjoy the food.
One good thing is they have separate windows for mutton and veg momos. So, ask before you order the momos of your choice otherwise you will end you buying wrong momos.
