Bahut Bhala Lagila Mumbai re Nija gaon ra gharoi swada milila. Next time jebe bi Vashi asibi mora prathama pasand Ra restaurant haba "Odia Bhaban". Price is very reasonable comparison to Mumbai restaurants. Loved this please. #odiabhavan
Good work team👌💐.

This is the best place to try out Odiya cusine. We tried out hilsha thali and prawns thali. Hilsha gravy was prepared in mustard paste. It was delicious. We also tried Chenna poda (burnt paneer) for desert which was mouth watering. This place is managed by Subash who explained us the preparation of certain dishes and also the history behind it. Looking forward to try Pokhala the next time we visit.
Very good initiative to let the people test the authentic traditional Odia food.ambience is good and you can see pictures of all famous places of Odisha.Price is reasonable. In less price you can get healthy food over here.staffs are well behaved.
few suggestions which might be required to improve.
1.add Pithas of Orissa(Arisa,Kakara,Manda,induri)
2.few more items required to be added in Veg as there are limited options for vegetarians.few suggested Menus :Poi besara(Malabar Spinach),kakharu phula(pumpkin flower),kakharu Saga(pumpkeen leaf),sajana saga(drumsticks leaf),Ghanta(traditional Odia mixed veg),Kanika(sweet ghee rice),Janhi alu posta,kadali bhanda(banana flower),kadali manja(banana plant stems),Panasa tarkari(jackfruit curry)
3.pakhala can be added in menu during summer which is the speciality of Odisha!!
4.special menus during the Odia festivals!
Was bit skeptical initially after reading the reviews but thought I will give it a try. This is the only Odia restaurant here in Mumbai i believe and I must say I was not disappointed. The fish thali was cheap and tasty as well. And one must try the Chena poda which is not extremely sweet. I have not tried other dishes but will try some other sea food for sure.
Recently I visited the bhawan and now the quality of the food has increased a bit .ordered an Odia Thali and it was quite good as compared to last time . After the renovation work, the food served was better this time .
Whenever we go out for lunch and dinner we always end up ordering some North Indian or Chinese Dishes.
If we want to try something different then you must visit Odisha House.
You can enjoy Authentic Odia food here.
Odia people who are living in mumbai can enjoy their homelike food here.
It is at hardly 15 min walk walk from Vashi Railway station.
Ambiance is decent. Place is clean and hygienic.
I tried the Chicken Thali, having -
Rice - Sufficient for a single person
Chapatis - 2
Daal - It tasted very good.
Any one sabji made in Odia style.
Chicken Gravy - with a kind of Odia flavor to it
Papad, salad and pickle
Any sweet ( Kheer aur Gulab jamun)
Staff and service is ok.
I would suggest if you are near vashi station area then visit once and enjoy the regional food of Odisa
For people of Orissa living miles away in Mumbai and craving for gome food, this is the place to be. The food is authentic and fresh. Please don't expect a fine dine experience as this is modelled on the concept of ordinary canteen. A total value for money.
The staff is very "government type" but service is quick.
Nice place to eat
Chicken Tahli is excellent (Usually i have to help her to finish it, but here she finished her thali+ ordered more )
they give washed onion so it doesn't give pungent smell
Staff (nandu) very helpful and friendly
Just like home cooked food... no added preservatives or soda
Ghee Roti... must try
Milk cake
Rasgoolla also very different type.. like home made
Thali... filling (fish curry)
Sweets too, very good. took it home for everyone to enjoy
Absolute Value for money!!!
Ample parking space
Non-AC
They will start cashless facilities in Feb
If you want to have Odia food in Mumbai pay a visit to this place. Food is tasty. Ambiance can be improved, ACs can be made to work and washrooms could be cleaned. Service is good.
Absolutely mind-boggling . I was blown away with the quality of food. This is seriously as close as you come to home cooked mom's famous bengali recipes. Chicken Pakoda was nice, Shorshe Ilish, Jambo prawn curry, Mutton Kosha, bit oily but really good Chanapora was perfect and light. I'm overwhelmed with this place
Was in my mind from long time to visit this place . Heard a lot from one of my friend about Food especially Fish Curry though I'm a vegetarian wanted to try out this place . Yesterday was their at Vashi so went to Odisha Bhavan for lunch .
They serve typical Odiya food like Potal Kurma , Dahi Baingana , Macha Thali (NonVeg), Chingudi fry (NonVeg). Lots of option and also serve Chena Poda, Rasgulla in deserts . So I tried Veg Thali which had Rice, Potal Bhaji, Bhindi , Semiya and also 1 plate Chena Poda.
After Lunch I went to a Clothing and Handicrafts store just next to the canteen . They sell Handlooms from Odisha like Sambalpuri Saree , Shall and Handicrafts store selling Idols and all . I purchased a beautiful art carved on Coconut .
A Nice place should visit once if you are from Odisha . Others too can visit to explore Odiya culture, Food, Tradition .
A typical canteen with good food from the EAST. Be it hilsa or rohu or chenar cake; Odisha Bhavan is a cheap tasty food joint. Located beside Kerala House, if you are craving for fish ; do visit this food joint. Donot expect 5 star ambiance but nice atmosphere. Food is tasty & is reasonably good. Mutton kosha , Rohu bhaja , chenar cake , khiro goja all were awesome.
Being an odia myself living in Mumbai, it was logical for me to try out this place. First of all if they want to attract people they need to focus on basic hygiene. Non functional ac in summer was a big turn off. Water was not available to wash your hand. Now coming to food, it didn't disappoint. I tried out pakhala over there though, the rice was hard.. May be that's the one off case i am assuming.
The food here is simple yet amazing! All the fish, chicken and mutton dishes are very good. A big shout out to all the Bengalis and Odiyas out there! You must visit this place.

I had chicken thali here which is very cheap as compared to the quality. Very Delicious but the service is fine nothing to mention about. I don't remember how I landed there but it was a good experience overall.
Enjoy Desi Food
Amazing! The food us too good to be true. I genuinely thought that well its just a canteen.. But the food is really cheap ( subsidised by govt ) and its tasty. I mean it.
Amazing dishes. And really fresh food items.
The location is a minus and so is the presentation. But considering it is a canteen, it is good. Try the dish "kosha mutton" with roti. Best combo ever

Best place to have authenticated odia food.
I tried mutton kasa,machha chinchheda(fish dish with vegetables),panasa katha(jackfruit masala) and kheer.
It was really awesome taste.
Exactly the taste which you will find in a typical odia restaurant.
The ambience is not so good. But the food was yummie.
Highly recommendable for an authentic odia food.
Pros:The food was really awesome. We tried chicken thali and rohu thali, the each thali was sufficient for an individual. The thali also included two veg items and dal. The Odiya style preparation of both veg and no-veg items were remembrance of Good old feast of the soul, which I had long forgotten. The bigini was also very good.
Very reasonably priced compared to restaurant around.
Cons:
The staff though courteous was lacking the managing ability, even with fewer customer around they were not able to serve timely. They need to improve open.
The washrooms not very clean, even the lights were not working, the soaps were not available in the beginning when they came later it was a soap bar, they put liquid soap, which is more hygienic.
The sweet (Chena Poda) appeared stalled.
Even with theses cons, I am going to visit again and again, as they serve the Odiya delicacy which is just awesome.
Generally eating at the Bhavans is a simple affair and Odiya Bhavan is no exception..one expects the cuisine that represents the state and Odiya Bhavan meets that expectation..its a no frills canteen, a large hall with plastic chairs as seating. At the entrance there is a mention of the contractor , the name does not reflect or give confidence of authentic Odiya cuisine.. Anyway, enter and you see a sprinkling of the Odiya people having their food and that validated at least I am going to have perhaps a good Odiya meal.. Asked for the Bhajas, server said will take time.. So ordered the chingri thali.. Looked good and was presented well with the papad on top of the chapatis..The Prawns were slightly chewy, well done and blended with the masala..The side bhajis were good.. Slightly spicy. Overall decent fare, Thali cost Rs 180..
Authentic Odia food..Special Pitha like kakara Pitha also available..
If you want to feel the authentic odiya experience, right here in Navi Mumbai, look no further. There is a very good restaurant here that serves odiya dishes especially chena poda. There are also few shops to buy sambalpuri dresses.

I'm staying here for a week in the dormitory. The place is neat and clean throughout. Washrooms are clean as well, seems like new construction. There is a canteen available downstairs that remains open from 07:00 - 22:00. Check-in is at 08:00. Staff is polite and helpful. Booking is done online on Odisha Bhawan website. Price for dormitory was ₹200 for first 3 days and ₹400 for next 3 days. It is 6 sharing but seemingly is empty.
A very nice place to have odia cuisine. They have all the typical odia dishes over there. The souvenir shop and handloom shop in the same complex is also very good. Must visit if you are in and around Navi Mumbai.
If u are from odisha yes I have recommended to odisha and Bengoli people's this place is gd for u , pure odisha food available here . Sweets , vegetarian food non-vegetarian food available with good quality good posan awesome taste . And hygiene also. Go and enjoy ur way.
Had the delightful experience the veg meals are perfect for lunch/dinner do try fish n chicken dishes both are finger licking, Authentic deserts do not miss. The pricing is very reasonable do not miss the place if u are around.
Absolutely loved our first experience here. You feel like you are in odisha. The food was as expected, the true authentic taste of Odisha. Had non veg pakhal platter, veg thali and chicken kasha. The uncle over there and his staff were very friendly. Must visit for anyone who misses odia food or just wants to try it. Will definitely visit again if we get a chance to be in the Navi Mumbai area.
Good Food. Waiting time is bit long.
Authentic odia food.
Visited Odisha Bhawan in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, and it was truly a delightful experience. The ambiance reflects the rich culture of Odisha, and the staff's hospitality adds a personal touch. The authentic Odia cuisine served here is a treat for the taste buds – flavorsome and true to its roots. The spacious and well-maintained premises make it an ideal place for gatherings. A great spot to savor Odisha's charm without leaving Mumbai. Highly recommended!
Foods are delicious. Last week i visited there. Service and food is awesome. They are providing proper athenticate odia foos.
If you love odia cuisine, then i will recommend to visit please.
Thank you
Authentic Odia food at really affordable rates in Vashi. Really really underrated. It is just bedside the very popular Kerala bhavan in Vashi, sad that it has not got the attention it deserves, food is sooo much better than Kerala bhavan which is always crowded.
Great food, hospitable staff. The place has a homely feel, especially because of the staff. Food's authentic. Rasgulla is must have!
“Eat here only if you love good food”😋😋😋
