I ordered the Veg thali and Kothimbir wadi....thali was sufficient and packing was really good.fullfill meal....Kothimbir wadi is average...chapati was not good...so dont go for chapati option..

Our craving for an authentic meal brought us to Desi Curry. We tried their Mutton Thali & Surmai Thali. It was one of the best Thalis we have enjoyed in a long time.
Wonderfully cooked meat and excellent rassas made the mutton Thali, whilst fish cooked to perfection and a yummy gravy complimented the Surmai Thali. Their Solkadi is worth a mention too.. In all this was an absolute value for money deal!
Good food! We always order kolhapuri chicken tikka curry or any other chicken curry from here after we ate food here on a birthday few years back. Have tried chicken curries, chicken starters, surmai, pomfret and bombil fry.

Restaurant was clean and neat. Service was quick. I had chicken thali, which was really good and tasty and roti was very soft. Temperature of the restaurant was pleasant.
Good place. Tried the maharashtrian non veg thali from here and it was great. Friendly staff and good ambience. The only negative is the location which is a bit difficult to notice. However, a much better place than many other restaurants in the vicinity, those who are at easily noticable location. Value for money and a good place to dine.
Both my wife and I love fish. And since we were new to Kharghar we decided to try fish thali at different restaurants and compare how good they were. Desi Curry won over our taste buds in the 4 restaurants we tried ! We have now eaten here thrice and each time was a lovely experience. Their chapatis are some of the softest we have ever tasted. The accompanying curry in the thali is full of flavor and thankfully isn't overloaded with spice like some of the others The only downside that I can think off is that their thalis are also the most expensive compared to any of the other restaurants we tried and the ambiance is a bit tacky. Other than the pricing, the food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed all the times we have come here to eat.

We tried Tandoori crab and prawn Malvani curry which was good if had at the restaurant. We order the same at home but the food was cold by the time it reached home. It would be recommended to eat at the restaurant rather than order at home. Tandoori crab was juicy and tasted amazing. Prawn Malwani curry with bhakri had well balanced flavours. It is one of those places I would like to try more dishes...
Desi Curry stands out with their variety for dishes in non-veg.You can choose between both Malvani and Gavran flavour over here.
Mutton/Chicken sauji is yummy to tht your tastebuds. We have tried bombil fry, surumai fry all of them where excellent. Fish curry will be a treat for you. Even the chapathi over here also is too soft. It goes well with all the above dishes.

Chicken Sauji Masala- As I like spicy food, The spiciness was up to the mark. Taste was real good. Though it couldn't be up to mark of real Sauji chicken but was good comparatively. The spices were used properly.
Service: As it was mentioned that the order would reach in 40mins, it reached early.
Staff: The staff is good. The person who took my order was polite. And also the delivery man was prompt & polite.

This is a nice option for Vidarbha style gravies... They prepare Sauji gravy really well... Nice malvani options as well but not up to the mark if you are expecting authentic Malvani style gravy...Personally i felt a sort of dull-ish ambience so its better as a take away / home delivery...

Went here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch after a movie at inox, kharghar.
We ordered:
Bombil tawa fry, sol kadi, malvani prawn curry, wade and tandoori bhakri
Everything was good, simple good food especially the prawn curry which tasted very fresh and not very heavy.
Wade- i have had better before and were a bit more oily than they should be.
The service was prompt and efficient.
All in all a satisfying experience.

If you are looking for anything authentic in Maharashtrian cuisine in kharghar then this is your destination. Food was good not very good as I have had better Maharashtrian food, but decent enough for the price you are paying. Pune is still ahead in the matter of authenticity. I would recommend this place for atleast one try.

Tried their crispy bhindi (never had anything like this anywhere else, it was so great), struffed bombil, chicken sauji masala and mutton rara with wada, bhakri all washed down with solkadi... all items were exceptionally good and away from the usual fare we get in regular restaurants... this place does serve authentic food and does not shies away from being so... worth repeating again... next try: thalis.
this place was a bit difficult to find since it is not on the main road, however google maps led straight to it... the slight inconvinience caused was completely made up by the excellent food that was served.
Had prawns thali with wadas... was served with good quantity of prawns with freshly fried wadas... found everything to be fresh and extremely well made... the solkadi was heavenly...

I have gone there thrice to celebrate my frnds' birthdays and I must say that the taste of the food is awesome. The staff is very helpful and very cooperative. Most of the times i eat non veg dishes in restaurants but for the first time I ordered veg here. The taste was really very good. I can surely come here again.
Searching on zomato for dinner options for a weekend dinner led me to this restaurant. Going by the earlier reviews I'd called ahead but the hotel manager said to come down. Contrary to many of the reviews posted here; the missus and I got the meal in record 15 minutes. Definitely the chicken ghee roast, the Chicken Sagoti and the Chicken sukka with tandalachi bhakri, were sublime. The solkadhi is also one the best I've ever tasted. The bill was also very well in moderation. Definitely a place to return to. Thanks to Mr Nitin and the staff for the gracious hospitality!

Excited and already salivating going through Zomato photos ,menu, ratings; decided to try out this place,not to mention the expectations that had started building up.
FOOD- Food was tasty but lacked the authentic malwani spiciness(punch) especially the rassa(thamda/pandhara) and so with wade the masala tasted bland but not disappointing. Wade were hot, crisp and light. Chicken pieces can be increased, Solkadi was low on sourness.

Ordered a take away and boy was I pleased we decided to try this place. Will dine in next time to try out their other specialities. Had never tasted the Chicken Saoji before so not sure how close it is to the authentic dish but what we tried just blew us away, recommend this dish if you are up for something spicy this monsoon. Highly recommended.

I have just tried tasting the food through home delivery and have not visited the place in person. I hence cannot comment on service quality, ambience etc. However, the food is really tasty and well prepared. The taste really sticks to the claim of Maharashtrian cuisine. Delivery has always been as promised and I have not found anything to complaint about. I am now curious to visit this place in person and taste their delicacies. A thumbs up to the restaurant and hopr they dont change their menu soon!!!

Desi Curry is well known for its authentic maharashtrian food in Malwani style especially the non-vegetarian food. The other cuisines are also good enough if one isn't a fan of Malwani style. A haven for seafood lovers, so the vegetarians could actually give it a miss.
Ambience : The seating arrangement and interiors are decent enough with moderate space and adequate lighting.
Food and service : Being a vegetarian, coming here didn't serve much of a purpose but surely loved all the traditional dishes. The malvani seafood being their speciality their fish thalis are a major hit. Enjoyed the veg maharastrian dishes like sol kadhi, kothimbir wadi, bharli wangi, wade and bhakri. The wade of 'kombdi wade' were delicious! Hot and soft.
The paneer dishes were also good and not mediocre as one would expect.
The service was a tad bit slow but didn't bother anyway.
Overall a must try for a non-vegetarian lover who likes malvani cuisine as they have authentic chicken and fish thalis.

We had ordered fish thali and chicken thali, both were too good in terms of taste and quality. Service is also good, staff is well mannered. But in fish thali they serve only one portion of fish, curry and soul kadhi along with rice and Chapati and where as in chicken and mutton thali there are three different types gravies along with rice and Chapatis. They should add something extra in fish thali also.
Nice restaurant, we were a large group looking for Desi grub, went looking for Maharashtrian cuisine and just loved all the mutton dishes some ordered other stuff which also was appreciated it seems a new place hope they keep up their excellent culinary variety.

If you are a Maharashtraian food lover, this place is for you. The thali is their specialty for those who love sea food. We tried chicken item also. They were also good. Their jwar n bajri bhakhri is a must to eat. Flawless is a word for bhakhri to describe on single word. Though I asked the waiter to add some butter on it which made the bhakhri even more tastier. Do visit once.
Although My previous review had largely been negative, the response from management convinced me to make another order. This time tried with home delivery. I ordered some traditional food and I was really surprised to not have tried this before. I would suggest people to visit this place with ample time in hand and not to rush for receiving your order. Stay away from thali's if you want to enjoy some really tastey food. stick to your instinct and place an order for anything on the menu and enjoy the food. I will definitely visit this place again to try a few more delicacies and update the review soon.

We chose desi curry for a family dinner amongst other malwani options in Kharghar based on Zomato ratings, although compared to the other options, this seemed a far smaller place and less crowded given 9pm Saturday night scenes. But when the food started coming in and eventually the tables started filling up, we were sure of our choice. We started with the refreshing Sol kadhi and masala chaas drinks. Must say, the masala chaas is easily one of the best I have had anywhere..perfect mixture of the right amnt if masalas, dhanyas and short mirchis to give it that spicy masala taste. The Sol kadi was also very refreshing to taste. It went well with the kothimbir wadi v had as starters. The wadis were crisp n soft. Just perfectly made. Then came the tandoori prawns...which were just so deliciously smothered with amazing malwani masala and tandoored to perfection. Qnty was sorted for three people. The veg folks had the malwani veg thaali...which had its assorted veg gravies, daal and tandoori bhakri. The daal fry was so good, we ordered a plate of it extra. For the sea food main course, unfortunately, they werent stocked with the pomfret which we originally wanted, so we ordered the special surmai desi curry with steam rice. Presentation was nice, the curry was spiced very aptly to go with the rice. Spcl mention of their accompanying salad, that was also repeat ordered by us, loved the pickeled onions n cabbages. To summarize, a very satisfying seafood family dinner (bill wasn't exorbitant either) .. Completely in sync with zomato' ratings..worth a repeat visit surely.

Yes, I agree that the service is slow, but we're making everything fresh. We don't have pre-prepared gravies. But than I assure all that in a months time service will be speedier. We also request our customers to order an hour from the menu posted on Zomato on the phone.
