A nice place, I loved the fairy boat traveling to the cave, try to return in the last fairy boat in the evening, so it would be great timing for sunset when you return, and also the night lighting of the city and cruse.

It’s a fantastic picnic spot with a train to CST, bus to Gateway, boat to Elephanta Jetty, toy train and a trek. It’s a family picnic spot. Would recommend to travel in the morning and take the first boat at 9 am. The afternoon heat doesn’t dampen your travel excitement and festive mood.

Nice place to understand our heritage, culture, Spiritual monuments, beautiful carving of caves and large stone idols of different gods. People generally come here to saw the beauty of nature with men made caves but I found here the fineness of old time art over stones.
Visit at least once with family. There is one cave with trimurti sculpture. You have to take boat from gate way of India. Boat ferry cost is Rs. 260 for return journey. Many food stalls available. Start your journey early morning to avoid queue of boat.
