Wonderful place for a nice quiet meal. Great sea food on offer. Try the Mussels rawa fry, Tisriyo sukhem, king fish masala rawa fry. Finish off with a lovely prawns curry rice with Poi. Friendly staff. Overall a place to chill out.

Perfect location, right beside the Mandovi river. Ordered rawa fried prawns, chicken strips and cafreal with poi.. Every items was delicious. Good variety of beer available.
A Hidden Gem in Reiz Magos fort but worth a try even after paying a bomb for Taxi Fares in Goa. Babazin's Shack is a complete package of Best View, Lip-smacking food and Courteous staff. Famous for its Sea Food and Chicken Cafreal. Their Chef Mr. Dalvi takes his own time to deliver "God's meal" recipes and you can't handle your taste buds dancing as soon as you take your first morsel.

The famous Florentine in Goa doesn't serve as good Cafreal as Babazin's Shack as this is their USP. The best being a Goan I have eaten so far.

Good place alongside the shore for authentic goan cuisine. Tried their fish delicacies and were yummy. Cheese garlic poie was 🤤. Definitely a must visit place
This place has such a stunning view even if you just come here for a languid afternoon of drinks and snacks, you won't be disappointed. Service is prompt and the staff is friendly. Try the butter garlic squids, delicious!
The Urak from a local brewery was superb too. Seafood was fresh and done nice and simple.
Also, it has wheelchair access, a definite thumbs up!
Not much options when in around reis magoos fort.. Ambiance is nice.. View of Panaji Kala academy side.. Not crowded.. Service could improve..

Babzin's shack is one of the very few restaurants located near the Reis Magos fort just across the mandovi river. The best part of this restaurant is it's location. Panaji lacks the vibes of calangute area and this shack somewhat compnesates for that.
We visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Only 3-4 tables were occupied. It's located right on the shore of the river, one can walk down to the beach from here. For me, it was like a therapy.. just take your shoes off and let your hair down. The wind blowing through text hair and lovely food will do the magic.
Now the food part begins and obviously it was great. We started off with lime soda. For starters, it was rawa fried mussels as usual. The coating of rawa made them crispy and the soft fish inside was perfect. Without wasting much time on starters, we headed to the main course.
The server suggested their special prawns pulav and chicken cafreal. The aroma that wafted when the pulav arrived was enough to make us hungry.. the pulav was amazing with the right amount of spices and big prawns. The chicken cafreal was good too. It had tender chicken pieces cooked in thick gravy.
The pulav won out hearts so decided to take seafood pulav. It came with prawns, squids, crab meat. It had the same great taste with good quantity of seafood. With this, we had prawns vindaloo. It was nice and had the perfect tangy sweet spicy taste.
Our entire meal for the day was Goan Portuguese inspired. And everything was awesome.
Such a beautiful place. Waiting to visit during evening hours as I'm sure it's going to be way more beautiful with all the lights and cool breeze.
Lovely place with sea view and good food to make your tummy happy. Although few seafood dishes we ordered were on the spicy side they were really tasty and flavourful.
Limited menu and if u are vegetarian then you might get disappointed.

This was some real good fish and Portuguese food I've ever eaten with the added spice I must say. The staff here is extremely friendly. The view was simply great. The pork vindalo with poi, chicken xacuti, the prawn curry rice was up the game. The fried prawns were juicy, veriyo was simply amazing. You need a good appetite and Resilience to spice, tastewise it was amazing. My stomach thanked me. Would come for more.
Second visit since November 2017..... Had the same experience all over again 😘..... Lovely food.... Even being a non fish eater I love the Goan Prawn Curry here
One of the best places to have fresh sea food around Nerul. The ambience is nothing great. It's like any regular shack but the view is great... During high tide, the waves almost get to your feet. Their cinanyos are my favourite!
Lovely place by the sea near the Reis Magos fort area. It faces the sea and is great to visit in the day and night. We ordered mussels rava fry, Modso masala, and prawn curry rice. The centre of the mussels was a bit chewy, which I think shouldn’t have been. But otherwise they were well done. The modso was done nicely in a rechad style and the masala wasn’t over powering. We also ordered some Goan bread - poi. One regular plain version and one garlic butter. Both were nice. Although the garlic could be further toned down. The prawn curry was rather spicy and lip smacking. The ambience lifts the overall quality of experience here. The place is known to serve excellent serradura. Unfortunately wasn’t available when we visited.
every time I end up going here I always have a blast, amazing ambience, great place to just chill for hours have a few drinks and some great Goan seafood.

Hey Babazin’s Shack!
I atleast travel 8-10 times in an Year to goa and I love it to every bit. And Babazin really gave me brilliant shack experience served in many ways. Next to the river meeting the sea. Lively and small place with some good food and Locals running it.
Disclaimer - If you in hurry this is not the place for you.
The quality of squids & fish was beyond a five star fine dine. Preparation is good. Out of their kitchen in your dish.
This is again small shack, yes they close early, they are little arrogant with timelines, but if you are on time if you want good food, good wine & good time. This is the spot. (Don’t expect expensive wine - This is a shack restaurant)
What I loved the most was the fact they knew what they can do for you and what not. Right from a bmw to tourist bike they have parking in front of the road, In a small shack clean toilets with bundles of tissue paper and nick nack. Ofcourse not a five star fine dine. But for a shack it has topped the chart.
I am going to make an attempt to reach them every single time.

Go here mainly for the view. Food is decent - we had the squid curry, prawn vindaloo and kingfish masala. My favourite turned out to be the kingfish. Port wine was also good. Service needs a bit of a nudge sometimes.
The view is the best part of this restaurant... ambience is good.. restaurant staff is attentive...we tried mussels rawa fry, chicken cafreal.. loved the chicken cafreal❤.... moderately priced

The 3.5 is for the fantastic view. Very mediocre food. A Chorizo that we ordered was not up to the mark and we called the Steward about it, who promptly took it inside and came right back with it saying that the Chef says it is all right which essentially means that management is always right.Good Teesrya, Decent fried fish (Small variety,Dont remember the name) Nice place to sit, laze around with a drink. I would skip the food though. Service is true blue Goan style "Susegad"
One of 'THE' best seafood restaurant in Goa. If you wish to try authentic Goa food then this is the restaurant you were finding. Its location was so good that even 10 star hotels would crave for it. Menu was short and simple. The owner was very humble and was not a money hogger. We had ordered 2 prawns curry but the owner insisted us to buy only one since it was sufficient to feed a family of 5. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Location 💯 quality of food 👍🏻 ie. if you're a Goan seafood lover ! Can't expect to come to a place like babzins and expect 5star quality Indian veg dishes. A must visit and a definite go back to place ! The owner too is a great person !!

Nice quiet place, along the sea shore. Good view and ambience. Most importantly, superb food at pocket friendly prices!! The Chonak fry is one of the most delicious fish I have eaten all along the konkan coast! Prawns and Pomfret are equally good. Service could be better, but still a great place to spend a few hours.

Great place and amazing view, had two local full roasted fishes there , just ask the owner for suggestions , u won't be disappointed , ask him for dusri ( a drink of feni ).will go there whenever in goa .
The ambience of the place is great. It's a nice place to sit back and relax. The food was quite good as well. The chonak rawa fry and mussel rawa fry we ordered was really yummy.
One shortfall is that the menu is limited. And frankly speaking I got a feeling that the staff is a little disinterested. But overall experience was good.
This is an amazing place for just sitting back and relaxing! The view is beautiful and soothing. Tucked away from the hullabaloo of the city, this is a nice joint to enjoy your time comfortably! The ambience is good as well. We ordered Chilly Chicken, which was great and chicken vindaloo with steamed rice, which was average. A couple of drinks to go with it. Now coming to food... Cafreal poli is amazingly good... Prawn curry can b better... Main disadvantage of this place is because of the very limited menu... Overall good experience...
Been here a lot of times and I have had pleasant experience most of the times. It has got one of the best locations out there, I prefer to be here at night times as the view is very pleasing to the eye. This place serves pretty good sea food and it's definitely what you should order. Don't try to experiment much with your order. It's a good place for a romantic date, and it's a good place if you want to just chill out with your buddies.
Relaxed afternoon at Nerul ...this place has got awesome location. Food was not so great but nimbu pani saved us ! They were having only two veg items , fried rice and noodles :( Mostly goan food is their speciality. Service was good. May be sea food lovers can rate this place better for food.
If you want to have a relaxed afternoon, some undisturbed time to spend with your dear ones, this is a place to go to. I started with a blue lagoon cocktail which was customized according to my choice. I am more of restricted to only first course kind of a person , so ended up ordering loads of starters. Go for Rava fried chicken and calamari batter fried style. The food is not of fine dine level but tasty enough to satiate your hunger on a hot summer afternoon. Cool drinks accompanied with some Goan style starters and the serene view of the mandovi river while relaxing.. What more can you ask for? I am very much happy with the place and would surely visit again.
Weekend in Goa and so we decided to visit Babazin before heading out to the beach. Located in the waters, it's a nice resto for a calm evening. We only tried the seafood and it was great.
Though the place is more comfortable for a group rather than just a couple.

Absolutely a gorgeous location for as some one said chilled beer, with seafood starters. Although I substitute the former with Lime Soda as had to be behind the wheels and with family. Battered squids and Chonak rava fry is what we tried and was good. Rice n Fish curry mandatory for an afternoon meal besides the sea...good view of Panjim with blessings set on the Church on the foothills of the Reis Magos fort, place is worth a bite...
Ambience: Out of the world. Amazingly mesmerzing. Seems like all of Goa has been fitted into one place. The swaying coconut trees, clear blue sky and the endless view of the ever-so-beautiful sea. The view of Panjim from the resto is worth noting too.
Food: Had Modso and Prawns Rawa Fry. The Modso was so perfectly marinated. The dreamy view made it taste even better.
Cost: Pretty cheap. Even if it was overly expensive, this place would be worth visiting.
Final Review: Rather than going to the overly priced and overly hyped restaurants, visit this gem of a place, nestled in the calm and serene village of Nerul. I'm dead sure that you would want to visit this place again and again.
Nice peaceful place. Small but the quality of food is superb. The view from this place is simply fantastic. Must visit place in Goa. try out "clamps", which is served with the Goan bread, it's fantastic. Make a reservation while going specially in the evenings.
Awesome squids and awesome ambience. Rates are slightly higher but totally worth the place. It's a small open place, closed in the rains. Better to reserve a table in peak seasons.
Best prawn reshado in all of Goa and such a bountiful offering too... Lovely prawn papadams too... And the view is nothing to scoff at - as you see here...

Babazin’s Goa is my #1 go to place every time in here. It really is one of the finest places I’ve been to - the view, the atmosphere, the ambience, the staff and service and most importantly, the food. Exceptional beyond words. The Prawn and chicken Recheado are the dishes that one HAS to have here - it is probably the best example of Goan food. The staff - Rohan Praveen Alpesh are extremely hospitable with prompt service.

I have visited this place over the years and one thing that has been consistent is their taste a d ofcourse the beautiful view.

Located right at the shore at an elevation, Babazin is the perfect place to unwind for the evening. Enjoy the evening sky by reaching here around 7 pm. The menu is mainly dominated by sea food including fish, muscles, prawns, and squid. The serradura is also pretty good. Besides, at a place that offers an expansive view of the sea, food becomes secondary. The chicken dry fry we tried were delicious. Slightly heavy on the pocket though. I guess it is for the location.
If you're looking for genuine Goan cuisine, this is the spot to visit. The flavors are incredible, and the food is exceptional. If it's good enough for Sunil Shetty and Yuvraj Singh, it's a must-try for anyone! Plus, you get to relish your meal just steps away from the beach. Definitely worth a try! This is the best place in North Goa to try out the goan taste and delicacy. You can ask for a local taste or a slight change in taste as per need. They have local chef who prepares the food using all authentic ingredients. You hear the waves hittin the coast across Mandovi river all through the day and night. Must try if you're in Goa or you'll be another boring tourist if you skip this. Open till 12-12.30am, unless you have a nice group along with you.
Located on the banks of River Mandovi this place will give you immense pleasure of sitting and dining chilling with nice sunset in front of you. amazing food, amazing ambience amazing pricing not expensive nor cheap. Go for seafood if you are in this place.

I personally lived my experience here. Beautiful restaurant facing sea. Good food with best view. Loved their service. Over all good experience with this restaurant.
Small place right next to the mesmerizing view of the Mandovi river with really tasty food... Each dish we tried here were more then what we expected. The quantity too is quiet decent. Only their vegetarian menu is limited & expensive. Do try their Goa cheese poi with any chicken gravy.
This Restaurant is a combination of a Good Ambience, Best Food and an Awesome River View. Suitable for a either group dinner or a family dinner. They offer a variety in seafood dishes within an affordable rate. A must go restaurant.
Babazin is a old Goan favourite. Right on the water in Nerul, at the base of the Reis Magos fort (definitely worth visiting), the location is at once convenient and scenic. Simple tables and chairs overlooking the mouth of the Mandovi river, Babazin is superbly located. A Mario Miranda style painting adorns a large wall. The place is simple, unpretentious and the food is EXCELLENT, each time we have been there.
Try their prawns rawa fry, chonak rawa fry, prawn curry, chicken curry and lip Licking tisryo!
The only thing I personally miss are hot chapatis to go with the tisryo.
In Goa today, when Pure veg restaurants are crowding out the old favourites, Babazin is a fantastic place.
Ordered prawn butter garlic which was superb. One of the best places I've eaten this dish.
Ordered Bombil rawa fry and it was not juicy at all. Very dry. Don't think I will order it again. Feels like it wasn't very fresh.
