one of our favourite eating joints for breakfast. The only thing is one should always visit here by hiring a cab. Parking is quite an issue here. Although they have introduced valet they will park the car in pragati maidan parking only which is quite expensive. But food is mind blowing.

So tried out the Lota Special Chicken Pasanda with pudina parantha, pork curry with rice and the traditional Rajasthani kobha. Loved it The masala chhaach was to die for! Looking forward to come again & try out the rest of the delicacies that includes sabudana popcorn in the priority list. Keep up the love flowing guys

Cafe Lota is located at Pragati Maidan. It is easy to spot but the location is not so convenient due to heavy traffic on this road.

The restaurant has become quite popular over the years. Food is decent but still feel the place is overhyped. Service is good though.

The place is a good option if you are looking to have north indian/south indian breakfast.

I have tried the parathas and filter coffee, both were good but not extra ordinary.

Parking is definitely an issue, you need to give the car to the valet or get the car parked yourself at Bhairon Mandir and then walk down 10 minutes.

Visited this place with my friend. The ambience is really pretty and the plants outside the cafe are well maintained. It's not at all loud and food is just perfect. Table service is cozy and the crowd is also good.
Coming the food, the food was yummy and their Palak Patta chat and tea is a must try. Visit here once and you wouldn't be able to resist yourself from going there again. Overall, it’s a decent place and we had great time.

This place is very quite and good for a peaceful casual lunch or dinner date. We went there at time of Navratri so they had special navratri snacks which we could enjoy.
On peak hours, queue is long and you might have to wait for 1 hour. But in that waiting time you can stroll in handicraft museum, it's entry charges are INR 30 per person.
Lota cafe and Handicraft museum are in the same premises so you don't have to go anywhere else.

We visited this place last week on a late Sunday afternoon for lunch as we wanted to see the decor and try the food. We ordered mahableshwar corn pattice. It was just so perfect. Great texture of semolina on the outer crust perfectly shallow fried and not at all oily or soggy and corn, potato paneer and spices as a filling was to die for. We were amazed to try such good Maharashtran cuisine as our starter to share. Then for main course we ordered bhatt ki chukrani, aaloo me gatte, bhang ki chutney. So basically it's a from Uttarakhand region . It was a Dal/curry made from bhatt a type of black beans from Uttarakhand region. It was tasty but more of a neutral taste. But the spicy potato and hemp relish with the ragi roti red rice and kumoani raita was the best part about the plate. Such good flavour to try from different part of India. In the end my partner asked for masala chai and I asked for Apple jalebi. His tea took almost more than 30 mins to be served but the dessert was there quickly. I'm a pastry chef and to try that was a game changer for me. I loved how the apple jalebi was not so sweet and perfectly fried. The coconut Rabdi was to die for. Thank you for serving such honest and great food. I'll come back home with my mum as well as it's a great experience. Thank you for having us and good luck.

Very peaceful and very authentic ambience. The food seems a little experimental but pretty practical and genuine. I visited here with my colleagues on a Saturday afternoon. Most of the tables were occupied but it wasn’t noisy.

We ordered for a Palak Patta Chaat, Mushroom Uttapam and Do Matar Ki Chaat. The Palak Chaat was really good initially with the papdi, after that it tasted a lot like a curry. That wasn’t bad, but just not as great. I liked my Matar Chaat, it was consistently good throughout. The Mushroom Uttapam was average. There was more of cheese (Chenna) and less of mushroom. It came with this chutney that slightly had a coconut essence. The portion was pretty good though. It was filling.

The Roohafza Milkshake was decent, I’m not a big fan of the flavour. I liked my Masala Chaas though.

The prices were decent. The service was pretty fast.

Loved absolutely EVERYTHING here, the location of this place. You could actually visit the crafts museum while waiting to get in coz this place often has a waiting of 30 mins. Tried the famous palak Chaat, karaari bhindi with khoba roti and prawn curry. I must say the food was worth all the hype. It was delicious, healthy, basically it was pleasing to the eyes and appetising to the stomach. Ordered the bhapa doi cheesecake and filter coffee in the end. Will go back again and again just for the filter coffee. Slightly overpriced, but sometimes the experience of eating out matters more than the money itself.

The place is situated within art and crafts museum near Pragati Maidan. The place has a very warm and upscale ambience. We went for a office lunch on a weekday, hence no waiting. But the place was still relatively full. Though the menu is limited, the preparations were very good. We liked chicken idli , and prawn fry. Mustard fish was seriously okayish. In main course, black chicken preparation was excellent and the mutton was great too. Vegetarian food was great too, especially the vada pav and sattu paratha. The portion that they serve would be sufficient just for one person. The service at the restaurant is quick. A little on the expensive side, but the overall experience is fantastic. Owing to ongoing construction at Pragati Maidan, Just make sure to check for parking before going. Overall, a place I would love to visit again.

The ambience is beautiful with lovely aesthetics. We ordered Mahabaleshwar Corn Pattice which is a basically mashed potatoes corn stuffed cutlet and Bhapa Doi Cheesecake with a twist made of yoghurt. Both the dishes tasted very good and best part about the Pattice was it's green chutney which had a rich taste.
Cheesecake was unique and very tasty, a must try.
Just the place is a little overpriced. Else it deserves all praises.

Finally got to visit this place !
On a Sunday afternoon , this place was jam packed and we had to wait for 40 mins ( they do not accept reservations - only first come , first serve ).

We ordered and loved all of the following
1) Masala Chaas - thick creamy , low on salt
2)Filter Coffee - Perfect and strong
3)Bajre ka Chilla stuffed with Paneer and Vegetable Bhurji was delicious
4)Mini Rava idlis - 12 mini idlis served coconut chutney - hot and fluffy ,beautifully tempered
5) Chicken Samosa - stuffed with chicken and cheese and served with tamarind and bell pepper chutney- absolutely delightful
6)Sattu Paratha - Spicy sattu filled parathas served with white butter , coriander chutney, Baingan ka bhurta and potato mash

The portion sizes are very generous and justifies the up market price tags.
The  place has a rustic ambience but is comfortable.
Service is good .
A must visit place for an altogether different culinary experience.

I visited this place last year on a rainy afternoon, when I was craving warm Indian food. It is quite charming, and perfect for a date.

We tried their sabudana popcorn and mini ragi idli. Both of those tasted quite good. The portion size was sufficient for two. We also tried their do gajar Ka halwa which was a complete delight, especially the black gajar portion.

The rest of the menu also seemed interesting. I'll go here again some time and try more of their food.

The Masala tea so refreshing. We ordered mini rava idli, mushroom uttampam, Mahabaleshwar patty, Beetroot chops and Tandoori rava idli. Relished with Masal chai and filter coffee. As always the best came at the last, Bhapa doi Cheesecake is divine. Never ever miss it whenever you visit this place. The Apple jalebi with custard was great too. Next time it will be the turn of the non veg dishes and it will happen very soon. The wait for 45 minutes was total worth it.

Unfortunately I don't have pic what we had ate but yes this cappuccino.

So price is quite expensive totally not pocket friendly and you should try here their different varieties not just chapati and paneer kind of regular meal b'coz then you won't get the benefit to be there .

Have always enjoyed going here! I ended up going for lunch here yesterday and we ordered a range of dishes. One of my friend's absolutely loves the palak patta chaat and she recommended that! I was trying it for the first time and it was really delicious! Apart from this we ordered the prawns fry, Andhra chilli chicken and some pudina parantha and paronthi. We expected both these dishes to be a little bit more spicier..would have really enhanced its flavours! For dessert we ordered Apple Jalebi which is one of the BEST things i have had! The cafe represents simplicity. For a long time since they started they were open air with huge coolers running in summers. Recently covered and made into an air conditioning affair, the place thankfully still retains its rustic charm..

Let’s come to the food, Indian and with a twist, every dish stands out and is delicious. The simplicity of the food makes it akin to home made taste and that is a winner. You can spend a relaxed evening here with family or friends or even your date. Must try.

Located inside the crafts museum with a beautiful vibe to it, Went here with friends for Lunch. For starters we ordered the palak patta chaat ,tandoori idli and chicken idli along with chaas, filter coffee and kokam. All the three starters were delicious with a special mention to the chutney with the idli as well as the palak patta chaat to be a must try.The chicken idli were juicy with the right consistency. The chaas and filter coffee were also fantastic whereas the kokam was a bit bland and can be given a miss.
For main course we ordered the, paneer pasanda, kathal biryani and sattu parantha with lotus stem dahi. The paneer pasanda was a paneer patty in a flavourful curry served with buttery parantha. The kathal biryani is a must try with the kathal cooked to perfection! The lotus raita was overly sweet for us as it had tamarind chutney mixed through in excessive qty.The sattu parantha was ok.
We finished our meal with bhappa doi cheesecake which was smooth and lip smacking especially for people with a sweet tooth.A must must try.

A menu unlike anything I’ve ever seen. From Dishes you barely see elsewhere or might not even have heard of, this place delivers all and how. It brings an essential charm to the indian cuisine from various corners of the country. This place located in the National Crafts Museum, right next to Pragati Maidan. The Ambience while can use a slight refresh is pleasing enough. We ordered a Palak Patta Chaat and goodness me that was so well done. We followed it with Ragi Paneer Dhokla and that was so filling we decided to skip the main course and ordered desert. The Bhapa Doi Cheesecake is a delight. It is the best attempt I’ve seen at a indian version of a yogurt based cheesecake. The Apple Jalebi with Coconut Rabdi is not for everyone as the jalebi was a bit too sweet and resembled more of a donut/ Mal Pua. I still liked it as the flavour of Apple was genuine and well maintained. Overall had a delightful experience and hope to be back again to try some of their main course items next time.

Visited this place after knowing it is listed in top 50 restaurants in India 2023. Ordered Himachal thali, Sarson ka saag with roti, Fried idli with Monglipodi. Himachal Thali- stuffed kulcha provided is a good experience. Liked the gravy curry, raita. salad is at its best. Rice is mild in taste. Felt healthy. Didn’t enjoy the Other items as much as I did the Thali. Idli is puffy and different but chutney seems to be spoiled and not that fresh. Spent around 1700 for 2 people including service charge and GST. Went at around 4pm. Our waiting time is around 45 min. But spent the time checking the museum. Handicrafts seems expensive. Entry is free. Best part is it’s a calm and mindful place.

Today I had the privilege of experiencing a culinary journey at Cafe Lota, where I had the opportunity to sample an array of their dishes, an experience that left me profoundly impressed. 1. The mini rava idlis with molgapodi were a splendid prelude to the meal, featuring an exquisite harmony of flavors. These miniature semolina-based idlis were served with coconut chutney. While the consistency of the chutney could have been improved, the taste was amazing. The idlis were soft and fluffy, perfectly complemented by the fragrant and slightly spicy molgapodi, a South Indian condiment known for its rich blend of roasted lentils and spices. The combination provided a delightful start to the dining experience. 2. The Palak patta chaat emerged as a unique and tasteful creation, characterized by a fusion of diverse textures and taste profiles, setting it apart as a memorable culinary offering. Golden brown and perfectly crispy and delicate spinach leaves were transformed into an appetizing chaat with a medley of chutneys, yogurt, and spices. The dish not only offered a play of contrasting textures but also a burst of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors that truly tantalized the palate. 3. While the Mahabaleshwar corn patties stood out as an exceptional delicacy, it is my suggestion that the establishment considers serving them in smaller portions as 3 pieces of it made no sense. Doing so would enhance the overall dining experience, allowing patrons to savor additional pieces. These corn patties, a delightful rarity, were a revelation in taste. A delicate crust encased a flavorful filling made from fresh corn, herbs, and spices. The only drawback was that they were served in a limited quantity, leaving me yearning for more. 4. Sandeep's prawn fry, complemented by the unexpected inclusion of tamarind paste, introduced an intriguing twist to a traditional dish, enriching the overall dining experience. Succulent prawns were expertly marinated and fried to a golden perfection. The addition of tamarind paste, with its tangy undertones, brought a delightful contrast to the dish, making it a standout choice for seafood enthusiasts. Lastly, the filter coffee was a remarkable conclusion to the meal, distinguished by its robust and authentic flavor. This South Indian classic, prepared with freshly ground coffee beans and served with the perfect blend of milk was a satisfying end to the culinary journey, leaving a lasting impression. (I wish they could give us an option of adding brown sugar though) A notable facet of this dining experience was the commendable affordability, with the combined cost of these delectable dishes amounting to a mere INR 2000. Moreover, the unwavering commitment to service excellence exhibited by the staff added to the overall satisfaction of the dining encounter. Cafe Lota undeniably stands as a culinary gem, and I anticipate returning to explore further their repertoire of gastronomic delights.

Yesterday I visited lota cafe for lunch. The ambiance was very nice and cozy with lip smacking snacks. The best part was Kerala chicken masala. The staff were very cooperative and friendly. They step out from the cafe to the entrance just to click pictures for me. It’s a must try!

The food was great, the atmosphere was very cool. This cafe serves a very decent menu, the sabji was fantastic. It was a very calm & inviting place, The cost was a bit high, but it was okay if you got served food like this. Must visit if you are visiting Pragati Maidan anytime for business purposes.

A great place for food and conversations. It's not very loud and you can have a discussion with some great food options. We had kerela style chicken, ragi chicken momos, Mansa chop, kokum Sharbat, masala chaach followed by Bappa doi cheese cake and the kulfi. I loved everything except the kulfi and would recommend everything that I had to anyone who goes to Lota. Great service - our server helped us decide a couple of dishes (from the above list) and they were very good.

Had a pleasant experience. Tried their limited time Bengali food festival. The food was delicious. There was a wait time of 30 mins but it’s worth the wait. Ambience is calm and pleasant.

We went there to see the museum but were tempted by the cafe's ambience. We had their masala chai, sabudana popcorn, mochar chops and the fish tikka all of which were fantastic and well prepared.
