I wound have rated it 4 star, But since italian and chinese menu being present was not available. Moreover they didnt accept debit or credit cards! Food is good. I ordered tadaka special pizza amd it was fine! Lot of foreigners visit this restaurant in old nrw delhi to taste indian food. AND Ssince these is highly rated they come here. i think food is good here. Only thing is that this place is little shabby.
Chaap makhani was the dish whick we ordered with rotis. The chaap was so tasty as is was very rich in taste . It was full of cream and the chaap was so soft from I side as well.
food was super tasty and delicious with perfect blend of spices..i must say it was ultimate..the only concern was that the packing was little bit crumbled and dal,raita were pouring out from thali packing, may b due to fact that i ordered in last 15 minutes or may be the staff wanted to give me the tatste of its deliciousness..will surely order again from here and will recommend to others..great service..keep it up

After shopping around Delhi we were keen on going to some good restaurant for having our lunch and we luckily found this on google and hence decided to visit here.
Coming to the order we ordered a Paneer Butter Masala, a plain roti, and butter naan. The paneer Butter masala was really good being not too spicy and with the perfect blend and taste of butter in the same. They also took care not to add any capsicum as we had stated in our special instruction. Also, the quantity of the same was really good. The roti was nice and soft and was made perfectly. The butter Naan as the name stated had an abundance of butter rather so much that it was literally dripping onto the plate below. The three pieces of the Naan were nice and soft and the butter made it taste awesome.
All in all, a really nice restaurant serving some really delicious food. The only part I felt they could improve upon is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Thus, a very good experience.
Very tasty foods, Nice ambience, courteous staffs and friendly owner... It's a complete package... Must visit place and enjoy food...

As soon as one boards off the train at the New Delhi railway station, one faces the busy market of Paharganj and this is where this delicious place is situated inside the market. I have been trying the same place constantly for three years in a row. This place never seems to disappoint. Although I notice a bit of changes in some food items, overall they have maintained the quality of food. The best thing to try here is kadhai paneer and dal makhani with butter naans. The food is amazing and the Paneer blocks are soft unlike many places. The gravy is not very spicy and that is what makes it special. The beards are soft and easy to eat. Also, they have some really nice chutney which just adds to the whole taste. Additionally, they have nice coffee machine for delicious coffee which I always have here after having the meal. Although the washroom facility may be a disappointment, it doesn't really count here considering it is a small outlet. So whenever one gets to this market, this place is a must try. :)
An easy to locate place in the paharganj main market. Ordered Paneer bhurji and Malai Kofta along with some Indian breads. The taste was up to the mark and the service good too. It is a very economical place but they need to improve a little bit on the hygiene aspect. Overall it was a good experience for us.
Although not much to look at, but the food is amazing, love the soya chaap masala and kadai panner, have tried almost every dish, worth the price.

Tadka is a completely vegetarian restaurant. It is located in Paharganj market and they have place so that you can sit and have food and they also have the option of home delivery.
I have ordered food from here a number of times and I liked it each time.
Especially their soya chaap and kadhai paneer, really appreciable.
The prices are also very pocket friendly.

Tadka 4986 can be best defined as a place where the North Indian, Italian and Chinese cuisine items are served with a fine but not very good taste. You might find several items out here which taste nice but it is also not very difficult to find out the obvious flaws in some of its preparations. Located in the very busy area of Paharganj- Nehru Baazar, Tadka 4986 was at times good and at times an average one for me.
Here is a list of items that I had-
Paneer Tikka- Marinated with various herbs and spices, tasted good.
Kadhai Paneer- Comes with a spicy brown gravy, tasted nice.
Paneer Lababdar- Had a creamy gravy with cashew nuts, tasted fine.
Mushroom Masala- Could have been more spicy but tasted okay.
Chaap Masala- Unflavored to a certain extent and hence an average one.
Chana Masala- Over spiced and tasted mediocre.
Dal Makhani- The creamy butter topping made it even better. Should be tried by all.
Chilly Paneer- Tried the dry variety, tasted fine.
This was all that I had from the Tadka 4986 and found it neither too good nor too bad. Recommend these people to enrich their recipes further in order to gain more customers.
Portions are big and we shared the Vegetable Manchow soup and the Kadai Paneer. Both were very tasty and not too hot for the western palette. The mint and lime juice was a great way to cool down from the monsoon heat and the strawberry milkshake is made with real strawberries.
The Kadai Paneer consisted of fried cottage cheese with fried onion, capsicum in a brown sauce, a really good dish. We couldn't decide which of the two dishes were better.
I would strongly recommend this typical Indian restaurant over all the other western type roof top gardens serving beer and offering non typical Indian dishes.
I LOVE this place . This place serves best lasagne in the city . I have been there so many times and have tried almost everything on their menu and can't get enough of it , every dish is so amazing .

It is located in very busy area of pahar ganj. Sitting arrangement available. Ambience is average. Service is quick. I tried dal makhani here which was good in taste. Nice place for families. Parking can be problem.
Situated near rail reservation centre, excellent place to dine in. We ordered soya chap masala, chole masala and dal makhni. soya chap and dal were awesomely delicious. Must try. Chole masala was also good. Best thing was hari chatni. Overall had a good diet. Order tandoori roti.

I've never been there, but mostly when the sight and smell of our mess food becomes noxious to our heart, to our sense of smell, then we go for tadka thali. It is a huge size thali, containing all essential north Indian food. I can never finish it alone, there had to be, one or two friends with me to share their appetite. Besides, the food is spicy, purely indian signatory and delicious. Umm!! My tongue is watering, want to order some more of it.

Located amidst the busy Paharganj Market, TADKA, is a small yet well maintained restaurant that serves authentic vegetarian food.
The decor is kept minimal and the food is great.
We ordered:-
Chilli Garlic Noodles: 9/10
Dal Makhni: 9.5/10
Butter Naan: 9/10
Veg Biryani: 7/10

The Dal Makhni completely blew me away! So amazing! The naan was soft and not overdone with butter. The noodles were flavorful and sumptuous. The veg biryani containing cottage cheese(paneer) was not as good as the other meals. It's flavours were slightly dim.
Overall, all of us had a tasty, sumptuous lunch that day.
Nice quiet place, full of customers of other than Indian origin. Clean and quick. The walls are full of colorful pics of Indian culture and heritage.
Though I wanted to have Italian, the server told me that it may take time. So I settled for Indian food.
Dal Makhni and Tandoori Roti is always a safe bet. Here too. Though the dal lacked that punch, yet it was tasty and fresh.
Recommended, if you are looking for a clean and hygienic option in the over crowded market.
Just stepping out of here after a good dinner. Tried veg Thali and chilli garlic noodles... Both dishes were very tasty and good quantity. The staff were hospitable and place was also clean. Food was delivered quickly so we didn't have to wait for long. Overall one of the best place to eat in pharganj main bazaar area.

Great Indian food at a decent price. A lot of the food in Paharganj leaves a lot to be desired, especially the Indian food but Tadka really nailed it. Quick service and nicely sized portions left us very full and happy after every visit. Would visit again for sure.
It is situated on a very busy and crowded street. We had ordered Chaap Masala which is a combination of soyabean and paneer. It was something that I never ate before, but it was very tasty. Naan is very big in size, which is almost 3 big pieces. You will lot of foreigners eating and relaxing here.
Nice place to be if you are near paharganj area in new Delhi.

From being apparently reccomended by the Lonely Planet and for having such an elaborate front shop face compared to the rest of the area I really did expect more.
There wasn't much wrong with the food though. Good prices and a great trusting place to eat if you are about in the area and feeling a bit peckish

Tasty makan experience for Delhi, Though located amidst a bustling market place, it is quiet if you move all the way back. Good AC, lighting can be a bit brighter. Prompt food and tasty affair with few exotic pickings. Liked the mushrooms and Vegetable gravies. Decent price for the safe food in crowded market. Take an assured chance with Tadka.
We came here looking for vegan food and we were pleasantly surprised with the options we had. We ordered the chaap masala and it became our FAVOURITE Indian dish. It's a gravy masala with soya (meat-free meat) and we asked for it to be less spicy. It was ready within 10 minutes! We came right back the next day. The staff were very friendly and we chatted about veganism with the owner. I will certainly visit again on my next trip to Delhi.

It is some kind of international food place where you can try popular Indian, Chinese, Italian dishes with easy going taste (not much Indian). They also cook for me boiled mixed vegetable as Vietnamese style. For 4 pax as food in photos, Bill at 1060ru. Good price good food good service good accommodation also. Thank you very much.
Highly recommend their garlic chilli fries and their mango lassi is the best I’ve had so far in India. My friend ordered the pizza and it was also really tasty and cheesy. Friendly service but the food is slightly pricier than other places, but given the quality I would return.
Enjoyed the veg super thali and chaap masala – good quantities, tasty items in the thali, and a fulfilling experience. First time trying chaap here, and it tasted really good!
Amongst an area that is abrupt and consuming for the senses this is a haven ie. has a door. Food is good and reasonable, seems to be appropriate for the novel tourist stomach. The Dal Tadka is nice, and high on garlic.

One of the best restaurant in paharganj.. panner butter masala was awesome..must try.. reasonable prices in delhi when compared to other places..i have also ordered veg thali worth 220rs which I can't able to finish..but the food was awesome.
It's a good place for North Indian dishes.
I went there for dinner and ordered daal makkhani along with one butter naan, and butter tandoori roti.
The chutney they served was so amazing that I ate it all. The daal dish was super yummy.
It was totally worth the money I spent.
Been in India 2 weeks, this is the BEST food I've had yet.
As vegans, we appreciate when a restaurant understand our requests.

This is a hidden gem in the place. But do remember to come here only via public transport. There isn't any parking. Only a few two-wheelers can be parked in front of the restro, as it is situated in the middle of very famous and extremely busy Nehru Bazar, Paharganj.
Overall, highly recommended.
